I literally just walked out of there. I wanted to get a quick bite while my daughter was out with her friends, but was unable to do so. The Scruffy, salt and pepper beard man behind the bar looked in my direction 3 different times and never approached me as I sat at the bar with a menu in my hand trying to decide what to order. Once he finally decided to approach me he said you ok down here. Not hello Im.... Are you ready to order, can I help you with something but it wasnt what he said but how he said it. His tone told me everything I needed to know, and out the doorI went after sitting for ten minutes and watching him watch me.... Horrible they dont like my kind or at lease he doesnt. My kind meaning black

Wrong vibes with this place. Food and drink are fine. My issue is that they stereotype. It s 2024, why do you need to hold my credit card behind the bar? You are using an Aloha POS, there is no reason that you need to do that. That s a register that can handle a complete pre-auth. It really feels bad when the patrons around you at the bar were NOT asked to hold their credit card. I made sure to ask them. Also, the gray bearded man forgot to get my credit card when I tabbed out and had to go back to get it so it s not your normal policy.

Located in Historic Downtown Plano, Vickery Park is a fun spot to grab a bite to eat. I had the Brisket Sandwich and fries on a weekday for lunch. Service was fast and friendly. Sandwich had Kahlua cream sauce, gouda, and mozzarella cheese with a honey bun. Im a huge fan of brisket sandwiches and this did not disappoint. The sauce and bun set it apart from any other brisket sandwich Ive ever had. It was SO good! Fries were delicious as well. Its not fancy inside and the cushioned seating covers need to be replaced. Felt a little grimy to me. But the food absolutely made up for it. Ill absolutely be back and highly recommend checking it out!

Decided to grab lunch here with some friends earlier today...pretty unassuming from the street, but once you get inside - oh boy! Spacious and clean with a warm atmosphere. There were eight of us, and we were able easily seat ourselves. We didnt have to wait very long for the barkeep to visit and serve drinks and distribute the menus. The menu is not complex, and it has some interesting build your own Mac and cheese/grilled cheese/pizza options with a ton of different toppings. I did grilled cheese with brisket and portabella mushrooms (it was great). There are also some main menu items including brisket burger, grilled chicken sandwich, or salmon. Plenty of sides to choose from and a full bar. There is a large back room for hanging out or playing darts or shuffleboard or Fooze ball. There are plenty of TVs in case you are there to catch a game. Overall, everybody that I was with enjoyed their meals - including my buddy who is a brisket critic. The meal portions were spot on. I felt satisfied and not sick from the amount that I ate. This is not a destination for people with gluten sensitivities, but if you are gluten free then you can make something work...probably a salad or something similar. If I lived closer to the restaurant then I would certainly go back and sample more of the menu. If I am in the area again then I will probably stop in for a drink and maybe something more. Last thing, the restaurant is located in a neat part of historic downtown Plano, so there are many nearby things to do or stores to poke your head into. Vegetarian options: There are options but not many. Probably salad or fruit. Dietary restrictions: Not a gluten free destination, but you can find something...I didnt inquire specifically, but I am guessing not a place for Celiac. Kid-friendliness: It is a bar, but if you are there just for lunch, then probably no problem for kids. I did not notice any high chairs. Wheelchair accessibility: I feel like you could get a wheelchair in there, but I remember there being a small step up at the front door.

We love this place! Everything weve tried has been great: fresh, well cooked, and tasty. We highly recommend Vickery Park, especially during brunch hours, so you can experience the whole menu. Edit to add: The black and blue burger (tonights special) was one of the best burgers my husband has ever had. I personally recommend putting the Kahlua cream sauce on EVERYTHING. Its worth the upcharge. ETA: Im not sure how long its been since I wrote this (a couple years at least), but even though the menu has changed some, we still stand by this review 100%. Parking: Parking immediately around the restaurant is limited, especially directly in front, but there is a ton of easily walkable parking, and theres a back entrance that is wheelchair-friendly (theres a step up in the front).

I wish I could give higher marks. The food is outstanding, but then you realize this is a bar with better food than most restaurants. The service is so kind and attentive. Atmosphere is really just a cool old Texas bar. This place surprised my wife and I. Very good.

Celebrated our 25th year celebration with friends. But when it was just me and the wife, we looked for something a little dressed down. SURPRISE, we found Vickery Park in down town Plano. WOW. We met the most attentive, good conversationalist bar tender Justin. He spoke highly about the market fresh food and how everything is made from scratch. He was RIGHT. OMG, you gotta eat here! Their bar is amazing, prices and specials are perfect. This is a place we will come back to over and over again. I cannot recommend this place enough. The establishment has hidden parking in the rear. Inside the building runs narrow but they have foosball, couple TVs and a shuffle board... The place is dimly lit. Across the street is the pavilion, train tracks and farmers market. Great place to go. Parking: Go around back. Plenty of space to park. Good area to walk around also

Stopped in for dinner as it came highly recommended by friends. We ordered 2 brisket sandwiches and a pizza, but the oven was on the fritz so I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on a plain bun. The chicken could have been juicier but the portion was huge and the cheese was generous. The brisket sandwich got rave reviews from my husband who is a die-hard brisket fanboy. The server was very attentive and friendly, and even brought out the pizza we ordered on the house when the oven was fixed. The pizza also had the perfect balance of toppings and the four cheese blend a nice change of pace. Great place to eat if youre in the area!

Great upscale bar food, service, and beer selection. The menu is diverse which is great if you dont know what youre in the mood for. My personal favorites are the jalapeno soup and tacos (more like a burrito+quesadilla mash, but awesome). The mussels are my wifes favourite and the broth is amazing. Wings arent bad either. All in all, its the place you want to go after work or just not do anything fancy but go out and just relax with a meal in a low stress environment. Also, and cant express this enough, their prices are insanely good for what theyre serving; both food and drink prices are incredible.

Thursday night grey bearded bartender is rude and void of service except to the locals that they are familiar with. Do not be a new face and walk in. I just witnessed the grey beard bartender chastise patron when all he asked for the brands of whiskey they had. The guy was very rude and so he asked for the manager and owners the bartender shrugged and then said do you want a drink or not . The guy replied with I already asked for the Buffalo trace. I wanted to walk out for the guy. The other bartender was ok but even he was cold shouldered to me at first. After the incident he was friendlier. Definitely not recommending this place.

Probably the best atmosphere in Downtown Plano. Drinks come out fast and service is nice enough to make up for pretty typical bar food. Wings are good, we like the citrus sriracha sauce, but were on the smaller side. Salmon and steak were decent, especially for the prices, but the grilled chicken sandwich was something to pass on. Overall we enjoy the darts, good service and reasonably priced strong drinks. We ll be back.

Stop by for dinner on a Wednesday night. Ordered the crabcake, jalapeño soup, and the aged oyster sirloin med-med well. Crabcake and soup were good. Soup had a nice jalapeño flavor as described. Oyster Sirloin was very dry and too crispy/burnt on the outside for my taste. Expected a lot more based upon the way the description hyped it up on the menu. Didn t even finish half of it. Made the server aware when she checked the in on me, but not much of a response. I think I may have had a 5 star experience had I ordered another entree.

Ill be back!! This is a gem place to visit in downtown Plano. Great vibe! We sat at the bar and enjoyed some beers. The 2 female bartenders were cold and not welcoming. ... which is the reason for the 4 stars. Not personable at all. However, the older gentleman was much more pleasant. Im not going to allow the 2 poor customer service bartenders, discourage me from returning. The menu has many options and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the Picnic Plate appetizer; deep fried pickles, onion petals, and jalapeño caps. The breading is different, not the usual type and this makes it a different experience and its delicious! All our food was flavorful and prize range for the serving was spot-on. Loved the food! Next visit, Im trying their brunch. Come check it out!

I Parked in the rail parking on 15th and you can walk in the back door where the mural is had the brisket burger had a beer it was difficult to locate with the exception of calling and finding out exactly which door to go through this place is a favorite of my exs youngest son whom I havent seen in years hes a good boy Mama did well

Absolutely love this place for many reasons! The food is well priced and it can be hard to find a good and affordable bite nowadays. Everything I have tried has tasted like it was made fresh from Grandmas kitchen. The staff are welcoming and nice and the restaurant itself is very homey and welcoming. I highly recommend you take a lunch or dinner date here. The Sunday brunch has also been a favorite of ours.

I scheduled lunch with some clients today. I figured I would give Vickery Park another shot, even though it smelled musty the last time I patronized them. It opens at 11. The doors were shut tight at 10:58. There s no way to get out of the direct sun when you re standing in front of their door. We gave them until a few minutes after 11. They could see us peeking through the door, but nobody let us in. You don t get to leave your clients waiting outside in the hot Texas sun just because you re irresponsible. We eventually went across the street, to Urban Crust. I am about to give that place a stellar review. They deserve it, just like Vickery Park deserves this 1-star review.

We ordered pizza, wings and mussels, all were great. Dessert not so much, we tried the 7 layer... if your looking for a good little place to eat and hang out this is a good choice due to their hang out area in the back with a TV, shuffle board and darts.

This place is the place to go. Super awesome staff topped off with amazing food. This is a perfect date night, and one of my favorite places to go. If you havent gone yet then please go as soon as possible (There is even brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Ask for Jenna, she will make sure you have an amazing experience) 100% go there at least twice a week. Thats how good it is.
