Best schnitzel in DFW, and its not even a close competition. Every dish is incredible, as is the beer and schnapps list, if thats your thing. The atmosphere and service is so warm and personal, which makes this such a fun dining experience every time. Special shout-out to Stacy, who is incredibly kind and attentive. Parking: Free street parking but it can be spotty at peak hours. Easier to park in the garage a block away.

We shared our 43rd anniversary dinner at Jorgs on a Friday evening. We chose a austrian restaurant because we both grew up in a german/polish home & lived in Germany for over 3 years so we missed our native food. Austrian food is very similar to german food, just not as heavy. We made last minute reservations for 7pm. We showed up 30 mins. early and we seated promptly. The atmosphere was lively & relaxed, a little too loud for 1 on 1 private conversations ( my only slight complaint the entire evening) but it was not irritating in any way. Tables were pretty close together, but it reminded us of authentic Austrian restaurants in Vienna. Our waitress, Laura, was fabulous- prompt, informative & friendly. We ordered a variety of food items from each part of the menu just to sample as much as possible and portions were so large we took home a box full of leftovers to enjoy the next day. Appetizers: The wurst sampler plater was delicious w/a variety of white & red wurst, some with extra spices. It included a nice portion of the best, lightly spiced white sauerkraut I have ever had & a generous portion of spicy brown mustard. The fried Camabert cheese wedges were more than ample for 4, with the most delicious dark red, creamy raspberry sauce. The dish was almost dessert-like. For the main course, I had the weiner schnitzel w/2 different sauces (Franz Josef & ceamy onion gravy). Both sauces were light, creamy & perfectly flavored- not so overwhelming that it hid the flavor of the meat & spaetzel. It came w/ austrian potato salad & I ordered an extra side of spaetzel which paired perfectly with my sauces. My husband ordered the Hungarian Goulash w/spaetzel & he was delighted- the 2nd best goulash he has ever had the 1st being in Germany. For dessert, we had apfel streudel & bread pudding souffle. The streudel was perfectly authentic, w/vanilla rum cream sauce. The bread pudding souffle, however, was to die for. Served with a side of sweetened rum cream sauce, the dish was lighter than most bread puddings, but so flavorful with fresh almonds. This dish would win awards in any contest it entered. We were so pleased to try this restaurant- it made for a perfect anniversary dinner. We highly recommend Jorgs for any celebration or date night. Customers ranged in age from early 20s to late 80s. It appealled to everyone. Reservations recommended to guarantee a seat at the time you want. $$-$$$. Parking: We used the free pkg garage around the corner & down 1 block- less than 1 block walk. It seemed safe & in a great neighborhood.

Our experience at Jorg s Cafe Vienna was 10/10. The staff was so kind, especially Stacy our waitress. Stacy added so much to our experience as she was attentive, funny, down to earth, and made things fun with dressing up!! She also recommended us some of the best dishes we ve ever had, which we will be going back for such as the goulash, the Brat Burger and the apfel strudel. Every aspect of Jorgs is a 10/10, the ambience, the food, the staff. This is a great place to go out with friends or family. The story behind Jorgs Cafe is very sweet as well, but you ll have to go to find out what it is! I highly recommend this place, and thanks again so much to Stacy for making our experience even more special!!

Weve eaten here a handful of times, and would eat here more often if we could. Jorgs is a family run business with a lot of heart and soul. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of sharing dinner and conversation with Jorg himself. Great guy, with really interesting stories. The whole restaurant feels like its decorated with stories. The recipes are even passed down through generations. The food and drink is fantastic, too. Make sure to try the fig and apfelkorn schnapps and the wienerschnitzel. The Spätzle egg noodles are made in-house. We also get the Vienna käsekrainer and Budapest bratwurst. Havent made it far through the menu because those items are so good we get them every time. Finish with the bread pudding - my Mom has been experimenting with bread pudding recipes all my life, and this one is as good as hers (arguably better).

I must share our experience at Jorges. There were 4 of us, and the reservation for 7pm. Got seated no problems, then our waitress was not very attentive toward us. Guess she was too busy in conversations with locals. Our other two parties got there, and it went downhill. Its like she wasnt interested in us. Talking to the locals, slamming our drinks on the table. I must say things have changed there. The menu is smaller, and the food portions quit small now of what it used to be. Also, charge , say nickle, and dime you now for extra sauces or share plates. Its always very noisy, but that is how it was. The sausage appetizer is for maybe for 2 but not more than that. Im very disappointed overall. The desert is also small for maybe 2 or 1 person. We had to wave the waitress down several times to pay service and our bill, and they charge a alcohol tax also , probably passing it on to customers to cover the city alcohol tax. We usually go to the Bavarian Grill but go here because its been a while and from Ft Worth. Well, thats our last time to Jorges . Something has changed from years back, and not for the better.

People were gathered inside the building at the front door by the sign saying wait to be seated. As I opened the door to see if there was a host/hostess, so we could put our name on a list, an older black male came toward the door, acted completely annoyed, said who is holding the door open? , and asked if I had a reservation. When I indicated I did not, he said, We can t take you. We have no room. He rudely walked away and said nothing else. A simple, I m sorry but we have a small seating area and we re unable to serve you would have been fine. To act annoyed for doing your job and treating potential customers rudely and dismissively is unacceptable. We ve never been here before, but now you can rest assured, we won t be coming back. This is particularly disappointing because we were looking forward to trying the food. You certainly could have handled that better.

The host acted like he was going to try to accommodate the reservation, but didnt. There was an open table that they didnt seat until a reservation came in 30 minutes after us. They sat all reservations even 30 minutes after ours. We waited 40 minutes to finally be seated as the restaurant cleared out. Our server was great, the food was okay. We had schnitzel and brats. I recently had dinner in Cafe Vienna, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Despite a slight delay in receiving our food, the ambiance of the restaurant added to the enjoyment of the evening. However, its worth noting that the vegetarian options were somewhat limited. That being said, I opted for the veggie sandwich, and I was pleasantly surprised by its delicious flavor, especially when paired with the tasty sauce it came with. Another highlight of the meal was the potato salad, which had a unique and flavorful twist. My partner, who enjoys meat dishes occasionally, found the bratwurst thoroughly satisfying. In terms of beverages, we sampled a variety of beers, and one that particularly stood out was the Hellas, which was incredibly refreshing. As for the sides, the onion and chive dish was decent, though not exceptional. On the other hand, the fries were quite satisfying and served as a great accompaniment to our meal. The service throughout our dining experience was friendly and attentive, which definitely enhanced our overall satisfaction with the visit. Additionally, for those driving to the restaurant, its worth noting that street parking is available, but theres also a nearby parking garage with a three-hour limit. In summary, while there were minor hiccups such as the delay in food and limited vegetarian options, the delicious food, inviting ambiance, and attentive service made for an enjoyable dining experience overall.

I was really excited to try this place given that I had heard really great things about it. The experience started great, as the staff was very friendly when we arrived and accommodated our request to sit outside (no one was out there). My partner ordered a beer and I ordered their pretzel which were both great. Another pair ended up coming out to sit on the patio as well, probably 15 minutes after arrived. Then things started going downhill, unfortunately. We ordered two different schnitzels. The other pair sitting outside ordered their food probably 10-15 minutes after us. 20 minutes or so later, their food came out. We thought maybe because we ordered schnitzel, ours would take a little longer which was fine but by the time they finished eating, we still didn t have our food. The waiter, about 10 minutes earlier, had came by and told us our food would be out shortly. We didn t see him again until the check came out, but we had to track down a different waitress to find out about the food. When we asked her, she said Oh yes, it has been awhile. Let me check on that . (She was our original waitress but they had swapped waiters, which was totally fine). She came back about 5 minutes later and said that there was a queue but we re up next and we asked why the other pair received their food so much ahead of ours if there was a queue. We didn t really get an answer other than it would be out soon. It then came out about 5 minutes later, and it was cold. The sauce and spaetzle were cold, which indicated this wasn t just made, but probably that it was forgotten. We tried to be gracious about it when she asked how things were, but could tell they weren t wanting to remedy the situation in any way. We weren t hoping to get a free meal given that we know how tough the food industry is, but a show of genuine customer service to try to make up for the subpar experience would have been appreciated (A free beer next time?). Nonetheless, debating if we ll go back as we always want to give folks a second chance.

Cons: poor atmosphere on the patio/overflow which could easily be improved with some better lighting, maybe candles on tables, and/or some greenery; the bartender under poured nearly all of our beers each of our 3 rounds which just makes you look cheap; the pretzels are more like smashed/crushed in half instead of cut in half. Pros: the beer was a good temp; Laura was busy but managed all of her tables well; the food was excellent including the butchers plater, the stew pasta thing, and the pork schnitzel (which tasted fresh made). We also enjoyed the music and were grateful that there were at least speakers on the patio. Parking: There s a free community parking lot just down the street if you can t find on-street parking Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs and were accommodating with our kids.

The beer could be a little bit colder, but otherwise no complaints! Kid-friendliness: We brought our 13 month old twins here and they were very accommodating. Might not be the best place for rambunctious children, but children were welcome.

I can t rate the food because my family of five and I didn t get to eat there. It was my 46th birthday and my family and I had already made plans for my parents to meet us at the restaurant to celebrate. I had called that morning around 11:00 AM to make a reservation for 6PM that evening. I worked all day, and was looking forward to our celebration of a new place to us, since we are located about 33miles from the restaurant. We had planned to leave at 5PM and meet my senior parents there. I got a phone message at about 4:20 PM from the restaurant canceling our reservation because of a private party that had reserved the restaurant. My parents had already left to head toward the restaurant to avoid traffic. I called the restaurant and spoke with the owner. He apologized for the mishap. I did explain to him that we had a reservation, and that it would have been nice to have had that call earlier than right before we were getting ready to leave. I felt this was extremely unprofessional and bizarre. I asked for a compensation, thinking maybe a free appetizer or just a gesture of kindness for the inconvenience of the mishap. I felt we were not wanted there. Thankfully we were able to come up with a back up plan and meet my parents who had already driven an hour to Plano.

We have visited your restaurant over the last several years. It is a favorite of ours. The last few times we have visited, we get an abrupt do you have a reservation?, or what time is your reservation? and we are given the worst table in a completely empty restaurant. We were told we cannot enter the resturant until after 5pm, however; others enter at a quarter till. The head waiter(forgot her name but its very obvious) is too robotic, brash, and a nice smile with a hello or good evening would be pleasing to hear. Dont sit near the back left hostess area, where all the waiters congregate, as you will get an earful from the head waitress rambling abruptly about who screwed up and sat customers at the wrong table or reservations mishaps. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. This used to be an all time favorite place. We tip generously. If reservations are required it should be posted on door, social media and website.

Such a fun spot in downtown Plano! If you arent familiar with Austrian & German food, dont worry because the staff is knowledgeable and ready to make suggestions. Its a small place, so definitely want to make a reservation. We came here with one other couple and had a great time trying all different sausages, sauces, etc. I recommend the fried pickles to start and then pork wienerschnitzel with a cream sauce on the side. Getting hungry just thinking about it!

The food was delicious The sides were pricey, $6 for a small bowl and $8 for a small piece of strudel was overpriced. I was shell shocked when I received my bill. They need a fountain machine for soda.

It had been a long while since our last visit and were excited to have our favorites. We were seated early on our reservation .Great Server had no customer service. I could say one of the worst waitress ever. Ordered our drinks was never asked if we wanted hourderve. Which we did. Entrees Ordered and brought quickly. Then no interaction . No water refills another waitress cleared plates while ours stood by register. Dessert Ordered and finished sat about 15 minutes with empty plates and coffee cups no refill offered before check was brought The food was as good as we remembered but the front of the house staff needs much training.

First time visit for us and it exceeded all expectations. We live in downtown plano and after trying to walk-in a few times, we finally wised up and made a reservation. We had the pretzel with cheese to start. For our entrees, my husband had the Oktoberfest bratwurst. So flavorful. I had the schweine (pork) wienerschnitzel with spatzle noodles. I also added a side of the Jäger sauce and highly recommend! It was absolutely delicious. We were too full for dessert but cannot wait to go back very soon. Adam was our server and he was very knowledgeable and kind. Thank you for a great date night Jorgs!

My grandparents immigrated from Germany; Im particular about my German/Austrian food. Jorg outdoes my grandma. Highlights: Alcohol: A handful of authentic European beers, which no doubt operates under the Bavarian purity law. My favorites are the Köstritzer and the Dunkel. Also, the original cocktails and schnapps shots. Apps: Pretzel bread and pretzel sliders for an addition of protein. Main Course: Budapest bratwurst or pork schnitzel with a side of mushroom sauce. Dessert: Strudel; the only dessert Ill buy in DFW.

Jorge s is the best in DFW for authentic German cuisine. You must try the Bavarian pretzel, all of their sauces with the amazing chicken schnitzel or sausages, and my favorite, the potato salad! Jorge s never disappoints.

Definitely make a reservation before coming! We got so lucky that we got a table only because we arrived before 5:30 for Saturday dinner. So many walk ins were turned away. This is a charming spot, great vibe and cultural experience. Do not expect to get your food quickly - they re making it fresh and it s an art that should be savored! Definitely recommend getting an appetizer since The mains take a bit. Next time we ll try dessert. I liked the feeling of where everybody knows your name Even though this was our first time coming, I have spots where I m a regular, and it s a beautiful thing.

I had a great experience here with my family. I want to single out Tracey who took great care of us and made us comfortable. The restaurant has a well-stocked bar filled with Austrian labels as well as plasma monitors to catch up on the sport events with a friendly bartender. The chicken schnitzel was great. The apfel strudel heavenly with rum sauce. We plan to pay a visit next time we visit Haggards park.

If youre in the mood for authentic Austrian cuisine and a lively atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit! Firstly, I highly recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. Although they dont seem to be listed on reservation apps, you can easily call them to secure a table. The restaurant is not very spacious, so getting a table on a busy weekend night or for a larger group without a reservation might prove challenging. Once inside, youll immediately feel the warm and playful ambiance, with walls adorned with Austrian memorabilia and beer flags strung across the middle. Its an ideal spot to unwind with a cold beer and relish the lively vibe. Our server impressed us with their excellent service and an added touch of traditional leaderhosen attire. To start our dining experience, we took their recommendation of a warm, in-house drink, the name of which I unfortunately cant recall, but your server will surely be able to recommend it. They also boast a fantastic selection of European beers, which were our next choices. For an appetizer, we savored their delicious Pretzel, which came with a flavorful spread and was perfectly complemented by their delectable mustard. Our entrees included the Schweine Wienerschnitzel, which I ordered, and my friend chose the Oktoberfest Brat. All meals come with a side, but swapping to other sides is an option for some with an additional cost. Their sourkrout side was exceptional and highly recommended. To round off our dining experience, we opted for the Chocolate Mousse Berry cake, which was a sublime end to a fantastic meal. Overall, this restaurant is ideal for those seeking an enjoyable dining experience, authentic Austrian food, a great selection of beers, and a lively atmosphere.

Been looking forward to trying out what looks like an authentic Austrian beer garden! This spot was even busy on a Wednesday night. They had a ton of really great European beer selections and this is definitely what I would come back for. Personally the food didn t have much of a wow factor. It was good, but if I came back I might come for the beer and then head out for food. The appetizers were also super small portions. This is a great happy hour spot to add to your list!

In short: Great authentic food, great atmosphere, great prices. The long version: Clearly an authentic place. A cozy and warm atmosphere in a restaurant that serves true Austrian classics. Family sized, not factory sized restaurant, wonderful. With a nice feel of Alpine atmosphere. We went for what we came for, the Schnitzel Wiener type. One Pork, the other Chicken. Although not Veal, still a true Classic. Delicious. Very tasty and not less for the typical sides. Spätzle or potato salad. Reasonably priced. Not a gigantic but a very good draft beer selection. They let you sample and we both opted for the dark beer. Smooth, nice foam, and with character. And a typical Vienna crumble, desert that pleased my sweetheart equally rounded up a nice evening. Clearly a great place to recommend and to return to. So many dishes we didn t try out yet. And Jörg is a very approachable host.
