i used to eat over here all the time with my family while growing up in webster. my mom was really close friends with a man on the wait staff. he was always so friendly even when he was dealing with huge party tables. i think about him a lot. its kind of sad that this place is changing ownership, since from what i remember the server said the manager at the time was his mom. i hope everyones doing okay.

Grew up in Pearland and ate there as a kid (It was called Gregory s then). He sold it to his cook and carried on the tradition. Unfortunately the doors closed for good in June 2024. So VERY sad.

This was our 1st time here. We really liked Juanitos and we very sad when we were told they tomorrow is their last day to be open because they are being bought. We hope when the new owners reopen in 2 month service and food is just as good.

Just went here been going here for years lady running cash register said need to wait to be seated. She had a long line at the register. Told her I would like to sit in Carmen s section. She told me again I have to wait there were plenty of tables open. I left. I told her I have been coming here for years she told me many people have. I thought she was edgy and rude and not coming back after over 20 years of going here.

Been here 21/2 hours took an hour to be told they didnt have my order and was ask to order something different we are a party of 18 with 2 servers and have to get up and go to kitchen to refill our own drinks I personally will never visit again at the moment Im held captive waiting for my bill so I can pay and get out of this place ..........never again

This is a great place with a lot of space for large parties. Unfortunately, it is changing ownership on June 1, 2024. I would suggest you try it if you haven t. My wife and I have been looking for the East Texas Mexican food we are used to and found the closest to it at Juanito s. Salsa and queso are just so-so, but the food is delicious. Food so hot it is still simmering when it arrives. I am talking about enchiladas, not fajitas. Best gravy we have found in Houston. I suggest you try it before it is gone!

Reading the reviews for this place is a study in itself. Im always interested to hear the wide range of opinions when it comes to what is authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex food. Im no expert by any means but as someone whos had people traversing both sides of the border before there was a border, or Mexico or Texas even existed, I understand its a lot less clear cut than that. With that being said, as a proud H town resident by way of west Texas, I do tend to have difficulties finding any Mexican/Tex Mex food identical to what I grew up eating in the kitchens of my mom, abuelas and tias, in the area outside of west Texas and the Rio Grande Valley. Maybe San Antonio as well. Understanding that all food is regional and cuisines are ever evolving, Ill do my best to give an unbiased review. The ambiance of this restaurant did remind me of many of the local restaurants in west Texas that have been in operation for years. I can tell that Jaunitos has been around a while and has some history in the community. The service is not bad. Its not quite as welcoming or engaging as I would expect after three visits. There is nothing rude or impolite about the service but maybe ambivalent would be a good way to describe it. Great service is always a plus but average service is not necessarily a minus in my book either. The food is okay. I didnt dislike anything I ate and the portions were generous. The chips and salsa kept coming, so that is a plus. Ive ordered a couple of things here and nothing has blown me away yet but Im still willing to give a locally owned business a shot to change my mind. One thing that stood out to me was that they had a chile relleno that is a stuffed bell pepper. I saw a review where someone was up in arms about that but that is exactly what I grew up eating and calling a chile relleno and know several other people who also did. Again, all food is regional and assigning one very specific ingredient as authentic to a whole state or country may not actually be accurate. Id like to go back and try that next time and the carne guisada as well. As you can imagine from my review, I am very fascinated with the history of cuisines and how they vary from region to region. My reviews are not meant to cast judgement on anyone elses experiences but to shed light on a perspective that may be different than yours. Jaunitos, Ill be back like the Terminator. Im hoping to keep finding reasons to return.

Ive been coming to Juanitos as a regular for 30 years since my family moved to Pearland in 1993. The quality had been going down the last couple years but figured Id give it a try again after a 5 month hiatus. The waitress (who Id never seen before) couldnt have been more rude when we sat down and it only got worst. We ended up leaving before even ordering. Definitely not coming back again. They need to seriously reconsider who they hire. That was the last straw for me. Theyve lost a patron whos been there at least +250 times.

We were group of 8 folks. The restaurant was not busy at all. We picked the best table for us instead of the table they wanted to sit us. It was practically empty. The guy waiter made us wait more than 30 to 40mins to get our order. I even approached the guy that we have been waiting for him to get our order and still he took another 10mins to come over to take our orders. We got all got impatient and left. I feel bad for the restaurant owner becuase of this waiters attitude, he lost his business from us which we could have spent 400 easy on food and drinks.

I brought my kid here right after her dental appointment, and she was a little goofy and groggy still at the time. But our wonderful waitress was so friendly to my little girl. I haven t been to this restaurant since I was probably about 8-9 years old. My dad use to bring me here all the time. I m really glad we stopped in today. Went their to celebrate a birthday. Wait staff brought the food out separately. Brought chips had to wait for drinks staff was out of sight. One of the platters tasted horrible. Chile relleno was overcooked, tamale was dry and hard, beans looked darker than usual. This was brought up to the attention of the staff and didnt say if I wanted something else. Three people were informed including cashier and no one did nothing about it. Will not be returning. Owner needs to pay attention to what is going on. Had been going there for many years. Everything was delicious, service was outstanding, Food was tasty. I was looking for chicken Flautus = a flour tortilla with spicy tomatoes similar to spicy Rotel mixed with chicken rolled up with a light golden fry with shredded lettuce with a dollop of avocado, sour cream and a bit of shredded cheese on top. No Chicken Flautus, they were going to make me a special order which I thought was sweet, but they had something similar no Rotel or tomato mixture inside a little too crispy for me but it was very tasty. Hubby had 2 miniature tacos he was satisfied with. I actually shared one with him and took two home.

Juanitos may not be the fanciest place, but its just plain good Tex-Mex. The food is consistent, the service is very welcoming, and its never glaringly loud like other Tex-Mex places. Very reasonable prices, one of the few places I can take my family (4) and spend $60 incl. tip. In most other places, well spend $75-$80.

Getting in is confusing. The wait staff was attentive and kind but the food was very underwhelming. Queso was awful, my 10 year old who only eats queso, would not eat it. My first impression when I walked in this restaurant was, I thought to myself and concluded, this place, if indeed is Mexican, this place needs to go up few, not one notch, but plenty of notches. the decorations were not that too impressive. I felt as if I was in some mess hall by the settings of the tables. the food tasted a little bitter, especially the chicken tacos. the green salsa, they told me they add sugar. I do not have words to say how disappointed I was at the service and food today. My husband and I bragged to our daughter about how good this restaurant was whenever we had went to it a few months back. Finally got to take her out today and the queso tasted like powdered cheese out of a box of mac and cheese. The veggie quasadea was dripping with grease. The chicken enchiladas were dry and our overall meal was terrible. We spent over $60 on 4 adult and a child. We understand the freeze we all withstood a week or so ago affected everyone, but your doors should not have been open if the service and the food was not eatable. The service was just as terrible as the food today. Not sure if we will try them in the future or not. All I can say is the first time we ate here, it was the bomb. This time nothing good about the visit, seeing that its 45 minutes from our home. McDonalds would have been just as good.

I knew it was too good too long to be true. I have been a loyal customer for over a year, eating like clockwork, almost every Saturday night. They just lost me in the flick of an eye. I ordered one of my usual #8 by phone, went in to pickup and was told they could not fill my order because it was a Lunch order. I have ordered this meal countless times along with the Gregory. It is listed as a Lite Dinner I guess because they cannot spell Light but now was told it is a Lunch dinner. Adios Juanitos, perhaps you do not know how many Mexican food restaurants are in a five mile radius or perhaps you just dont care. Go to Emma,s. UPDATE: 8/22/20 I have since gone back & the service & friendly people have been great. Good food & no more problem with my orders, even with the Lite Dinners. You can now forget Emmas.

I grew up going to Juanitos and I havent been in probably 15 years or more. The hubby and I went for old times sake tonight, and to help support our locally owned family businesses. Yes we enjoyed our food, but I do feel that the quality and flavor just wasnt top notch, and no it has nothing to do with the effects of covid-19 either. Im glad we went, but I got my fill and should be good for several more years.

Supporting our local Restaurant tonight ordered fajita street tacos and stuffed Avocado rice and beans and I must say it was still hot and delicious when I got home.The customer services is outstanding.Thank you Elsa and Randy for all that yall are doing and continue to do serving the Community.
