We had tried the chicken at two other Rey del Pollo locations (Lawndale and Alameda Genoa) and they were good. This location has the BEST chicken out of the three locations. The chicken pieces were large and cooked to perfection. The meat was juicier than the chicken at La Silla which tends to be dry. The red sauce had a hint of chipotle that went real well with the chicken seasoning. We were impressed and will definitely be going back.

My experience at this restaurant was phenomenal. They treated me like I was a prince. The waitress, I think her name is Fernanda, was very nice to me. She is very friendly not only to me, but to all the customers who were arriving at the place. She brought me the food, and I said OMG!! The food was very delicious. Also, the rice they gave me is very delicious. I dont have the words to describe the taste of this delicious food. I made an order at 6:55 and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I went in at 7:20 and was told someone had picked up my order at 6:57. The lady working at the front said they only had one chicken left and they where not gonna fire up the pit to fulfill any more orders because they close at 8. This place used to be good when we went years ago. Well we decided to go again since we haven t been in years. The lady gave us a price but when we decided to eat there she said the price went up cause they charged extra to eat there. I asked why was that and she said well they had to wash dishes and clean the table and so on I said ok that was fine. It was a $6 extra charge. Anyway the chicken did have a good flavor until you got past the skin lol underneath it, it was so dry and bland! The beans tasted like when they start burning in the pot and when you walked to the back to the restroom it smelled so bad, makes you not want to eat there with how bad it was. I don t know what happened cause the place used to be really good back then.

The family meal deal was of ok price, much cheaper than church s and other big name chicken chains. ($40 vs $60 on average). The beans had good flavor but any mexican that has eaten beans for years can tell you they were not fully cooked, which really irked me. Rice had decent flavor, light coloring. The chicken was your standard fare barbecued chicken with no flavor past the surface. I guess a lot of people find that ok, but if you marinate chicken overnight to get a flavor that penetrates meat all the way through, you wouldnt eat bbq d chicken the same ever again. Lady at the register was very nice. Food came out lightning fast it was shocking. All in all, it was alright. Would have given it 3 stars but the speed of the food gave it an extra 1.

Very bad service! I called to place an order and when I arrived I asked the lady if she could bring the food to my car because I had just left the doctor with my 4 month old baby and he was asleep. It is also against the law to leave a baby alone in the car. So she told me that she was alone and that she had to wait on a table and when she came out to give me the food she came out angry and with a horrible attitude. I will not return to this place again to be treated with that attitude and apart from the exaggeratedly expensive prices.

The chicken was very simple, dry, without seasonings and the worst burned, the same as the rice and beans were simple and without seasoning. I left very sad because I lost my money. I went from very far to buy the chicken because we went to the beach and looked for several roast chicken places and in the end we chose the King of Chicken. Well, with that name we were very excited because we thought it was the best but it wasnt like that. We will continue looking at other chicken roasteries going to Sylvan Beach.

I went 2days ago bought the family pack chicken they only give you 2tiny red salsas and 2 green. I asked the employee if she can give me more and she asked me how many I said 3 more red she was about to change me .30 for it. Our family is 5 people. I love to order chicken from here! My only issue is that they never pick up the phone! It rings once and then they hang up. Sometimes I dial 15 min apart and nothing. Some of us just want to place a order to just get there to pick up. Vs having to wait. Last time when I went I asked the girl if the phones were working and she said they were.
