Ive been to this location for many celebrations. It is always a great time. Honestly, its the best hibachi restaurant out there, in my opinion (Ive been to most, if not all, hibachi restaurants). Their rice, vegetables, and salad trumps all others easily. They also have a decent lunch special. Definitely recommend dining here for any occasion.

Went there today a few minutes after opening at 11:00 a.m.. The hostess was great ,sitting us at a booth ,and our waiter was great as well. The problem came along with the food... I had an order of unagi and the rice itself was freezing cold like it had come straight out of a refrigerator. The unagi itself did not have near as much taste as it really should, it was very mild. The salmon steak was very dry,. As always the salad was great. That said, how several minutes after opening the restaurant is the rice you get with sushi that cold? The only thing that comes to mind would be that they reuse the previous days rice. After todays experience I cannot really recommend going there.

Absolutely Amazing Experience! Well worth every dollar spent! You can sit at a Hibachi Grill that seats up to 12 persons, or at a booth, or at the sushi bar. With a Very nice atmosphere to enjoy come ready to laugh and have fun while you get you meal prepared right in front of you! (Well besides the sushi, those are hand crafted at the sushi bar.) Said they were open and when we got there all the lights were on , no closed sign, a table was sat, someone was picking up a to go order so we go in and were told its closed ?? I take my son here, and when he was younger was a bit squeamish about sushi, luckily there are items on the menu that are fully cooked, but are still sushi dishes. He also really likes the Hibachi steak, especially when his father springs for the fillet version. I usually end up eating quite a bit of that, as well as the delicious rolls.

What can I say about Ichibon God have mercy. Without a doubt this some of the best Sushi in Houston. My wife and I try to eat here at least once or twice a month minimum. The service is awesome and the seafood is ALWAYS super fresh. I recommend the Bento Box and upgrade one of the rolls to the famous Tokyo Nights. Trust me you will thank me later.

Soooo disappointed. Unfortunately, 0 stars isn t an option, because this restaurant surely doesn t even deserve 1! Sushi was bland, pasty powdery wasabi, tasteless ginger, poor quality sashimi, some hard that we couldn t even eat. Awful fishy smell coming from kitchen. Staff lackluster and didn t know much about menu. Rudely told by older female employee that they don t carry and never have carried gluten-free soy sauce. Staff seen eating food over sushi preparation area and then using same unwashed hands to handle customer s orders. Some employees just standing around on their phones while we sat waiting and waiting Absolutely abhorrent, disgusting practices seen while we were here. We do not recommend this place if you want decent sushi handled in clean, sanitary conditions, or care about being treated like a valued customer. Stay away. Will NOT be returning, absolute waste of money, and when we let them know, they simply didn t care, and didn t offer to make this right.

The young man cooking had an annoying giggle that he made for everything. It was actually very cheesy! We have been here many times, both at the grill and at the regular side. Food has always been delicious and timely. My favorite is ordering the spicy crab salad and ichibon chicken. Sushi so bad, it will dishonor your ancestors if you are foolish enough to order it. Your local school cafeteria makes better unwashed, and unseasoned rice. My honest opinion is that having left 90% of the food on the plate because it was inedible, I feel the dish was an insult to humanity, and I am very upset at having spent nearly $60 for the experience. It did take my mind off of there not being any wi-fi. Three hours later, and I can still feel and taste the few bites that I had. I would be ashamed to serve this food to anyone. I have only ever written one other negative review in my life. This is how disgusted I am with the food here. After reading about baby roaches from other reviews, I threw up. Im giving this a 1-star review. I am also calling for any health inspector who might read this to pay them a visit.

I have gone numerous times to this place and I have never been treated like yesterday. Went with my husband during lunch and the host was the worst!! BTW the place was empty so theres no excuse it was busy. She gave us a horrible attitude since the moment we walked in. We asked her if they offered the same food on the regular side like from the hibachi side. Her reply was YEAH I then continue to ask what was it called from the regular menu. She bluntly replied Hibachi in an annoyed tone. After her blunt answers we just decided to go with the hibachi side because we felt uncertain if it was actually true. When we sat down on the left side of the hibachi table she demanded for us to move to the right side. I told her there was no difference and she roll her eyes slamming the menus on the table. Management needs to pay attention to this girl because as a loyal customer that s been going there for years the customer service I received by this host made me feel UNCOMFORTABLE. I would rate this establishment no stars except that s not a choice. My family and I had the worst experience ever! I made a dinner reservation for our party and upon arriving the two hostesses had very poor attitudes from the start. I had 90% of my party there and because 100% of us were not there they would not seat us. The hostess Catherine made it her swole purpose in life to get very mouthy and sassy with me. She was very unprofessional and argumentative. She insisted on making sure I heard her say that my whole party was not there while rolling her eyes at me therefore they could not seat us. I responded to her attitude by asking for the manager who had the same attitude as she did. It s no wonder that she can get away with her attitude, the manager is just the same. After I explained our situation and how unprofessional Catherine was, he stormed off waving his hand in the air as if he didn t care. After getting nowhere with this establishment and them not honoring my reservation, I took my party next door to Don Pepe where we were welcomed, greeted and seated immediately accommodating for 20 people. I do not recommend Ichibon on Fairmont Pkwy unless you don t mind a little mouthy and sassy service.

I never come here because the food is average but it was my god daughters choice for her bday. Let me start by the saying the waiter was great but the cook not so much. He was rude and condescending. Pedro I believe is what he said his name was. If a customer doesn t want rice thrown at them then you move to the next guest not insult them in front of their family. He stated he had been working there close to ten years. One would only assume that after being there that long he would have extensive knowledge in customer service.

I want to start off my review that I was very disappointed that a hibachi grill does not have Yum Yum sauce. YY sauce is the foundation of a hibachi experience. The following reasons is what saved this review. Nonetheless, the food was delicious, clean and fun atmosphere. The prices were actually pretty fair! I d come again, but I d bring my own yum yum sauce.

Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary here, and we couldnt have been more satisfied! The salad was so incredibly fresh,food was delicious, and the service was outstanding! Price really shouldnt matter when you receive great food and excellent service!

Was near Pasadena and needed some time to kill so I decided to come here for food. Came during happy hour and their menu seemed decent and cheap (yay!). I guess you can say the sushi I received directly reflected the price. I love California Rolls so I ordered a couple of them. The rice was really dry. I dont think there was any vinegar in the sushi rice. It was difficult to get through the many rolls I ordered. The spicy-mayo sauce tasted kind of off as well. The waitress and hostess were very friendly though.

Once again the Family has chosen ICHIBON Seafood and Steakhouse. There is no substitution for this experience. Oh and the food is EXCELLENT!!!!! 5 stars all day long customer service 5 stars need I say more. Family laughs, good food and an exhibition. What s next?

Went for mothers day and made a reservation a week in advance for 2:15PM. We get there and they say people are leaving and well be with you shortly. People left, people came and it took us an hour to get seated... what was the point of the reservation then? We got food at 3:45PM. The only reason they dont get one star was because our hibachi chef was good and the food was decent.

Today 6/29/21 8:32PM. My wife and I waited 18 minutes to not be served and repeatedly ignored. We spend usually $50-$60 on a weekly basis and travel from Pearland to eat here. There are way too many good hibachi places we pass on our way to this location, but this place a norm for us, or at least was until tonight. Tonight we walked next door to Don Pepes and received instant service. Its a shame since I had my heart set for Ichibon. **The problem there was the was really no waitress that attended us. Only person we really talked to was the Lady at the entrance that sat us down. **Updated... Originally gave a 1 star review, but Liz has changed it all 10 months later .. AWESOME service!!!***

Skip the sushi, horribly mushy rice and not very fresh. The boat ftwo used to be pretty good, but the tempura was super oily and the chicken was waaay overcooked. The lobster was also way overdone, super disappointing.
