Peggys is the real deal. Fresh food, the best burgers ever (try the patty melt!), fried or grilled fish, and great sides. Today I got fried catfish and it was fantastic! Check them out. Peggys was recently awarded the number one best burger in the area. I tried to go there for lunch last week but the parking lot was overflowing with patrons vehicles and not a single parking space was available. I think that says quite a lot about the quality of both the food and the service here. Its been family-owned and operated for generations. Do yourself a favor and go get a burger at Peggys on the bayou.

This is a great little place youll completely miss if you dont know its there. The burger and onion rings didnt disappoint! Hand made Patties not frozen garbage. Service was friendly and on point. Looking forward to trying some of their other stuff on the menu on my next visit. Will definitely be back for more!

Popped in here with our guide for lunch after a fun filled morning of local fishing. To be fair its a hole in the wall kinda place with all sorts of charm. The food was very good, being half starved made it into the best food of the day. The patty melt and onion rings really hit the spot. What turned out to be the real treat was the level of service we received. While we werent the only customers present that day we were made to feel that they were only open to serve us and us alone, when asked if we needed anything I kept replying, a bigger stomach. Yes it lacks curb appeal but it makes up for it in charm and old fashioned customer service. despite its lacking curb appeal Id happily return to eat here again.

Booth had a few people at it. We went outside to eat in the back. Very filthy. And it was extremely dangerous. The boards where literally coming up. As we walked past the restrooms all you could smell is Urine. Very strong odor. We ordered couple burgers, onion rings and a kids grilled shrimp. My grandson didnt eat his burger. He didnt like it all. My granddaughter liked the grilled shrimp. They didnt like the onion rings.(no flavor) We came back inside to eat. The food was cold. Yet it took us a hour waiting to get it. nobody was there. It was little before 2pm when we got there I saw atleast 2 people working and 2 people out back that seemed Ike they may work there as well, on break I think. Our waitress was nice. The burger was not horrible but it wasnt amazing either. Especially for the amount of time we waited. Our bill was almost 50 bucks. For 2 burgers, fries and or onion rings, kids burger, kids grilled shrimp fries and or onion rings.. They was out of the crab cakes. I guess they took that off our bill. And 4 sodas. Overall experience: If your in a hurry, dont go. We wasnt in a hurry but still didnt want to wait that long with nobody there. It was ok not horrible. If your a germ freak, do not go. If you dont want your car getting dirty, dont go. If you have high expectations, dont go. Id definitely call ahead if you just want to grab a burger. The rating was low mostly because of the time it took to get the order out. When it did make its way out it literally had no heat to it. Id say try the place out, but not w a big group until youve first discovered you like it.

My fiancé and grandfather and I went to Peggy s this weekend. It took over 45 min to cook 3 burgers and fries when we where the first ones in there to order. My grandfathers burger was all messed up, the burgers where burnt, the bread was burnt, no AC in back room. It was over all horrible. I never had a bad experience but that topped it.

This place is a hidden gem of the Golden triangle. While most people talk about the seafood (and the fried catfish and shrimp are very good) I think the real star is the hamburger. Horrible. I called in a To-Go order. Came about 30 minutes later to pick up. Pre-teen girl employees sitting in booth did not help me when I walked in and weren t helping their tables. Finally an older lady comes to assist me. She was very kind but my food wasn t ready and they didn t know why. I waited for another 30 minutes. Food was not good. Not worth the drive or the money. They need to hire better people.

Came here on a Sunday by boat....they only had half the menu items available, place smelled like dog and restroom. As we were eating 2 dogs came in and sat with us...there was no dock for boats to pull up too...place is ok in appearance but smelled and seperated into different rooms. Hurricane Harvey took most of this places size and menu. The catfish whiskerpoboy and the house made crab cakes were well worth the drive over. I am sure that the owners will build more out when they can. The small dining room was charming and cozy.

I wasnt very Happy that Peggys is now a hamburger joint. Its been a while since our last visit. So disappointed about that. Only a few tables now and unfortunately they are still renovating I suppose. It looked like it. I dont remember the menu being so selective either. Very limited to small baskets, burgers, a few small items. Food was okay.... good. Not excellent. These are the reasons for the 4 Star instead of 5. If looking for a Hamburger Joint... Peggys.

Weve always had good service in a warm, friendly atmosphere.The hamburgers here are the best in Texas & Ive travelled around enough that I feel fairly quaified to say that! You need a hearty appetite to eat one though - theyre HUGE. The jalapeño bun adds just the right touch to make them extra special. Ive only discovered Peggys this last year, but since then everyone who visits gets taken to Peggys for a burger & they all leave saying the same thing, BEST burger Ive ever had!

Peggies is very curteous and one feels comfortable there. The seafood is fresh. Crabs arrive alive daily...and the recipes and cooking are good. I enjoyed different foods there since I first ate there. Fish sandwich...fried oyster...fried shrimp and crab. Couldnt meet a nicer owner... These people are kind and caring. What makes the place great is also its downfall. Slow slow slow service, and not attentive at all. Tea glass gets empty, have to ask twice for silverware. Food for our lunch group comes out one at a time..... first guy is finished with lunch before the last guy gets his. The food is good. I really like it once i finally get it, i just wish they would hire some waitstaff

It is very good at being what it is, a family cajun/seafood joint. If you are looking for high class Gordon Ramsey style restaurant, you wont like this place. The walls are cluttered with fishing nicknacks, much of the servers cleaning and serving supplies is out in the open as an extra eyesore, and nothing matches, but again: it is very good at being what it is. I like to drink beer and eat crawfish, and Peggys is BYOB and serves crawfish, so its a perfect fit. The crawfish here is generally perfectly cooked and seasoned, and they serve it with extra seasoning and sauce so you can adjust to your taste.

My salad was small and dehydrated. My friends onion ring had a long piece of hair in it, and the server said she hoped the rest were alright before asking my friend if she wanted a new order.Our chocolate bowls had some balloon pieces on it. My divers burger had moldy bread. The server had bad mood swings. The health department needs to grade this restaurant.

Okay, not great... got the feeling that much of what I was having was frozen bulk items. no real individual zest of flavor. typical straight out of box frozen, fried & served blah in a odd environment. I certainly got the impression that everyone else seemed to enjoy(well aside from my table). group of four adults, on alcohol, $110+ change. dont think it was worth it.
