Its crap. My grandmother arrived with a heart attack and they treated her around 7 oclock. They sent her home. Her blood pressure started to rise to over 200 and I took her back and the doctors told me that I couldnt take my grandmother to the emergency room just because of her blood pressure. My God, her blood pressure is over 200. How could I not take her? She could have another heart attack. There are definitely no good hospitals in Odessa. They need more professionals!! I dont recommend this emergency room to anyone.

Seen for an abscess tooth and possible UTI. They did a urinalysis and we were waiting on the results, in the meantime they gave 2 shots in the behind, a pill to dissolve under the tongue for nausea, and 8 DIFFERENT TYPES OF PILLS TO SWALLOW RIGHT THEN AND THERE! DIDNT EVEN SAY WHAT THEY WERE, THAT IF IT WAS A UTI, ALL THAT WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT..... THEN THEY TURN AROUND AND DISCHARGE WITH NO RESULTS AND 3 TYPES OF MEDS, SAYS THEYLL CALL IF ITS POSITIVE !? 12 HOURS LATER AND NO CALL BACK ON A URINALYSIS?? THIS PLACE IS GETTING AS BAD IF NOT WORSE THAN MEDICAL CENTER. I hope yall pass this on to management too because yall will end up with a lawsuit from hell for negligence or medical malpractice in the death of a patient!

My first time in ER. I was left in the dark on how things go there. I was given a cup for urine sample. Left it on tray in the room I was in. Nurse didnt notice it being there. She went to get the shot I was getting. Gave me the shot. She didnt ask me for the name of the pharmacy I needed my prescriptions to be faxed or called in so I told her & said to her so the Rx can be called in. The nurse did not say anything about I would get written prescriptions. I asked is that it? She said yes. I noticed she didnt pick up the specimen. I left because she didnt inform that the Dr. would be back. I waited a few minutes. No one came so I left. I had to come back to pickup my prescriptions. I was so sick it took me two days before I could barely drive myself, as I live in Monahans. There is not much communication with staff & patients. Thanks to the Dr that said she didnt see me as an emergency to be referred to a Dermatologist right away, well I want you all to know, it is an autoimmune condition that I have now & I could have been treated sooner! She said (the ER Dr @ ORH) my skin had to be literally falling off to consider it an emergency, well it was falling off & bleeding. My Dermatologist was very upset at not being referred

It was the absolute worst medical treatment Ive ever been part of. The facility was disgusting, they will run every test on you known to man even if it redundant to the other tests just to rack up your bill. All in all Ill never go back there for anything. I wouldnt have even gave it 1 star but Google made me so that I can post.

Had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and ORMC did a wonderful job taking care of me and ensuring all of my worries and needs were addressed. Krystal was such a wonderful nurse and Bryce handled drawing my blood with such care! Thankful for all the nurses and doctors I saw that helped me!

This was the worst ER visit I ve encountered, I went in having extreme chest pain, the only medical personnel that actually did anything for me were the paramedics they gave me a nitroglycerin tablet to help w the chest pain and inserted a cath ready for an IV, when arrived at the hospital they did lab work, said they were going to give me an IV and pain meds that was about 1130, come 430am still no IV, no pain meds, no updates on my results, nothing I told the nurse after calling multiple times I wanted to check myself out against medical advice and only then at that point did Dr. Rahman come in, told me all my labs looked fine when in reality they didn t . I sent them to my doctors. Having Lupus when labs come back and my organs aren t functioning properly you would think that would be concerning to the doctor but obviously it wasn t. ORMC used to be the hospital to go to but now it s worse than the county hospital! I will be reporting this to the board and disputing the bill as I m sure I will be charged for services that were not given. That was my review for the emergency room visit

It was terrible I had to call 911 cause of left flank pain and the emergency room doctor over medicated me and laughed about it in front of my wife and son the doctor said in his terms over medicated in my terms he said over dosed him I have four years clean from heroin addiction this is something I take seriously yes I was in pain a lot of pain I had kidney stones they transported me to midland hospital that night I had surgery the next evening this shouldn t be aloud by hospital employees

I understand that if you have to go to the ER and this is the closest one, then go. My experience with ORMC was horrible. Got X-Rays and a CT. Doctor was ok, nurse was extremely rude no bedside manner at all. Doctor came in to discharge me and didn t explain anything. Pretty much shoved me out the door. Didn t tell me what was going on. Another nurse came in to give me discharge paperwork that wasn t even my nurse and he said he couldn t explain anything because he didn t know why I was in there. If at all possible avoid this ER.

Very very bad!!! Dr Way was the dr on duty when my husband was sent to the ER from the dr office, So it was very serious! DR WAY came in not caring and just had no communication skills. He told us he wasn t concerned with anything his primary dr had to say, and then after he ran all his test he still prescribed no medication and did nothing! We had to go to another ER and they actually found the prob and medicated it! Which was a blockage in his colan! If we would have just took Dr Way word he might of prob died by the end of the night! I wish there was a way to sue this Dr and hospital for misdiagnosis! If the hospital cared on how the Dr treated there patients and if the Dr cared about there patients I know more lives would be saved. I want EVERYONE AND ORMC TO KNOW THAT DR WAY DOES NOT CARE AND IF YOU SEE HIM & YOU FEEL ITS SERIOUS THEN YOU NEED TO GET A 2ND OPINION! You could die u see this DRs care.

Well, here is how it begins. I walk into the emergency room draped is only a sheet because that s all I could put on my body. In severe pain, I walk up to the guy at the front desk who is looking at his phone, he won t even look up and I m telling him I m gonna have an emergency, finally, he just pushes the paper to me to sign in, not looking up at all and is back to his phone, very unconcerned and rude while I m in dire straits.As I am walking deeper into the ER it felt as though I had disapproving looks given to me by the emergency staff, now I m back in the room and after so long, the nurse comes in ask me questions followed by the doctor accusing me of doing other than what really happened. I m not gonna go into the details. After 15 or 20 minutes he comes back in ready to do something, as I was just getting ready to walk out the door because I felt that I was going to be in harms way, the doctor threatened not to treat me and to let this problem go in the way that it s going to go. I ask and beg him to put me to sleep so he could do it procedure. He would not do it. I didn t want him to do it with me being awake, knowing that it was gonna hurt a lot, but still did it. I screamed so loud so very loud. All the people that are in the ER and the clients were there can attest it. Yes I said vulgar things as he was stabbing me with needle while I was awake that is a very weak description of what happened in that ER on that day with that doctor and his staff.

I had a blast there n believe it or not I was in so much pain I forgot all about it because the doctor and the nurses they comfort me. They were there for me. They helped me out when I need anything Doctor even took extra test that he didn t need tag just to make sure it was great. I go there all the time I would rather go there into the other hospital.

I went in due to some bleeding while about 19 weeks pregnant. The ER staff helped get me to where I needed to be but the on call OB doctor was so rude. Didn t do a urine sample, just listened for the baby and told me next time to not waste my time and call the ER on call number to see what I needed to do. Advised Tylenol and sent me on my way. No vital checks, no nothing. I went to by OB the next morning and informed him of the incident and claimed they never even called him to see about if he wanted to come in and take a look or anything like that. I was not checked for dilation, bleeding or anything.

Unfortunately, I guess they forgot about HIPPA. They dont pay attention just cause, they sit around and talk. My discharge paper was given to another patient along with hers with his information. This is ridiculous and I feel they need to not work in a high place of emergency center if they cant focus on their patients privacy and care

It was bad, because they didnt take blood, or put on a BP cuff. They got urine, then about 30 min. later, they said I was being discharged b/c I was there 3 days ago for same issues and all the tests they took looked fine, so there wasnt anything they could do. I came to a different hospital the the next day, and being admitted into hospital with Low Potassium at 2.5, High Calcium at 12, atrial fibrillation.

When I came in with my electrical arc flash burn to my hand, I was quickly rushed to the back and your team tended to me as quickly as possible. They gave meds to help with the pain. I was treated well at the hospital, until they finished the last checkup, which was an x-ray. After this, I had to wait 3 hours for them to give me some medication for the ear pain after two complaints to the staff who work there, the who said there was only one doctor who had to wait. In the room where I was waiting on a mini stretcher, I observed people coming and going and I was still there until in the end I was attended to by a nurse, I think, who was very kind to me.

I fainted at my job. Landed on the back of my head. Was treated for NEAR Syncope instead of Syncope. Its like the Dr didnt believe. Which I was so scared I didnt care until today. Nurses were awesome, CT folks were awesome, check in and out staff were also awesome. The doctor did what he had to do and determined extreme stress. Gave me 1mg Ativan push, it helped . I saw my own Dr. We have rearranged some meds. She said likely it is a collision of mania and severe stress. Still ormc wasnt filled like mch and I was treated quickly.

Head of the hospitals in Midland Odessa this is the only hospital that I will go to there super nice they really look into whats going on with you and go above and beyond in your testing however I was in a lot of pain and Im on maintenance pain medication and they didnt give me enough pain medication to subside my pain do the fact that I was already on maintenance pain medication I think they could do better in that area listen to their patient.

Nurses were very kind and comforting. The NP that saw me was not very kind. He did not listen very well to what I was saying. When I told him that I was still in quite a bit of pain he responded with it s not going to get better instantly. You re going to have to get up and move around. This hospital used to be so good I don t understand what has happened in the last 6 months I went the other night for nausea throwing up with a migraine headache and back pain, I waited for 3 hours before a nurse even bother to come in a check on me and ask what was going on then it took three different nurse to get an iv on me the doctor seemed like he was in a hurry to get out of the room.

The doctors and nurses are outstanding. They did everything possible to revive my mother. Unfortunately, she did pass away. At the exact time my mother passed away, my son was experiencing breathing problems. He was sent by ambulance to lubbock and made a full recovery. However, Im dissatisfied with 2 things. First, when my mother died and I was trying to get my son help, the registration staff member laughed at me because I said, My mommy just died. It didnt seem funny to me, but I guess its hilarious to them. 2nd, the billing did not run my insurance and is insisting my sons policy is inactive. However, lubbock had no problem running it. Literally was sent from odessa to lubbock that same night... my son has also gone to a doctors appointment after that incident with no insurance problems.

Not for emergencies! The intake personnel were more interested in snacking and taking personal calls than caring for patients. We waited almost two hours to be seen. No success We were skipped three times before we decided to find an actual ER with patient care as a priority. We re now at MCH and have already taken vitals and spoken with a nurse despite a full waiting room. There were four people when we checked in at ORMC and they did nothing. ORMC should be educated in proper patient triage and fulfill their duties when on the clock.

Went in on 11-23 with excruciating pain and every symptom pointed to a kidney stone which I have had several. Wait time was acceptable and nurse was great. Dr ordered CT scan. Dr came in to tell me that radiologist said there was no stone. Fast forward exactly two month, was back in ER with same symptoms. Dr ordered another Ct and then informed me that there was an 8mm stone in right ureter. I got the CD of the two CT scans and I found the stone on both. Granted I knew what I was looking for but you would think a Radiologist would have caught it the first time. Because it was missed the first time, I have had two months of unnecessary pain. Anyone that knows about kidney stones can understand the frustration. H

The front staff is nice but everyone else seems like they don t care and the doctor couldn t tell me what was wrong after my blood results or sucked at explaining things to me, I let her know my issue was getting worse as they released me and said if my symptoms got worse to come back. I went to Signature Care instead and got take care of. It s always a waste of time here.

I was happy with registration. The nurse was very nice. I did not care for the doctor. I have underlying health problems and I felt that he thought I was stupid to the fact. My body felt that it needed more rest. I asked him if he could write me a work release for 1 extra day to rest since I do housekeeping there he said he couldn t. Since this visit I have gone to my gp who cares. He wrote me a prescription for steroids which this doctor said I did not need. I hope I never see him again. I will not be going to ORMC er for anything

Dont waste ur time. They start off nice, but the more questions u ask about y u r sitting in extreme pain with no help the ruder they get. Will never be back. Wasted 4 hours of my life to leave worse than I arrived.

I took my son to the ormc for COVID symptoms and during triage the nurse was talking about not being happy he was there and say he should off called in. Then he forgot to swab my son for COVID flu and strep. So he finally takes us back to get seen we waited 2 hours until someone came to see what was going on and at that point they noticed my son was not swab during triage so just a waste of time. Then I over heard making a comment how someone complain it took them 4 hrs to get out and made fun of the person. I mean I understand it s an ER but Mch doesn t take that long. Any ways than they proceed to swab my son and he wasn t letting the nurse do the nose swab and doctor came in and used extreme unnecessary force I mean he could of gave me some time to talk to my son just like we waited for them 2 hrs to come even acknowledge us. Anyways I m not going back to that hospital I was there for almost 5 hrs and it was not even busy plus the way they treat patients it s just not right. I would not recommend this hospital

Odessa is not known for great medical facilities but I have had to go to ORMC many times and only once had an issue that was immediately addressed. My last visit I truly felt heard and cared about.

The staff, ie the nurses and the radiology tech were great. The doctor was slow as molasses and didn t see me until the last hour I was there. I was there for 5 hours total, 4 1/2 of it spent in the ER room.

The ER nurses and PA did a great job. They made me comfortable and got me the medicine and care I needed. They also got me out quickly. Most hospitals take forever to release you. I thank all the hospital employees that took care of me.

Receptionist was kind and prompt, CT scan staff was patient and kind, Doctor was prompt and knowledgeable . The only issue I had was the young lady with blond crinkly hair who came to draw my blood was rude and seemed as though she didnt want to be there or didnt like her job. I almost felt as though she was prejudice and didnt want to work with me because I was a black woman. She made me feel uncomfortable and shouldnt be helping serve patients who already arnt feeling well and hope for the staff to have some kind of compassion for sick and hurting people. Outside of this concern my overall visit would have been perfect

The emergency room staff, was very professional. Fast at taking care of my needs and getting me out of pain. I went in complaining of dizziness, discomfort when breathing, headache, shakes. The doctor insisted I had ACID REFLUX. I told the doctor that was not the case at all that I knew what that felt like this wasn t it. He smirked and stated condescendingly that s my diagnosis, nothing else appears to be wrong . I left still feeling like I was going to faint.They called 30 minutes after I left, I have covid! It was a wrong diagnosis. The doctor never called back per my request. Never checked my throat or ears. Never treated my actual symptoms. They do not care!

Dr. Choi at the ER put my daughter in danger. He let her leave after her saying she was going to put a bullet in her head after he gained to treat her when she was severely anemic and in a lot of pain. Her specialist told her to go to the ER. Her Hemoglobin was 8.1 and she was still actively bleeding.

Went to ER I drove my daughter in law and grandson took our 2 day old grand baby because baby hadn t peed in in 24 hrs after being discharged from hospital day before with mom. So baby s pediatrician said take hi in to the ER immediately. Checked in, desk lady spoke to attending physician. Dr was thinking to maybe sending us to labor and delivery area and baby was going to have to be admitted. But before that Dr. Hernandez came out to the lobby met with mom and baby and mom in the lobby and asked mom to explain exactly what was going on. They opened the baby s diaper and to our surprise our baby had just peed. Yes it was one of those not sure moments of did we overreact by bringing baby to the ER anyways an OMG moment of happiness. Dr said we did the right thing by bringing him In because he shouldn t have gone 8 hrs without peeing. So to say that we over reacted is an understatement we went too long before calling the pediatrician. Dr. Hernandez thank you so much for for your service we didn t have to be admitted we were amazed by how instead of getting charged for an ER visit you had us avoid that as well. Loved the way you took care of our newborn and saved mom from ER visit and admission. Think baby just wanted a ride in the car. Best ER visit EVER. Thank you again Dr. Hernandez Alma DeWitt

Sharing another bad experience at this place. It took 2.5 hours after my injury before I walked out of the ER. I was seen and then ignored, no antibiotics, no bandage, no prescription. The provider did not offer me the what I asked for. I was told to wait for law enforcement and was not treated in the mean time. For all I know my wound could have become infected from the two hours of waiting for the staff. This was another miss by their providers getting paid for not caring about their patients. Zero stars (besides the quick triage).

Back in October I came with severe pain in my chest back and stomach. The doctor laughed at me when I told him and he said it was impossible to be feeling what Im feeling. I told him I took tylenol and used icy hot for my back but the pain didnt ease. Since it had went away soon after I got there he treated it like it wasnt a big deal. The nurse who did my IV blew my vein horribly (I have really good veins on the arm she used) and laughed and said whoops sorry Im super tired. They sent me home with no help and told me to take tylenol even though I told them that didnt help. 11 attacks later I went back in thinking it was maybe gallstones. I refused an IV due to my last one. I asked them to check my gallbladder and they said they couldnt. Thankfully the doctors on staff were more understanding and reffered me to texas tech. I was diagnosed with gallbladder disease and have since had my gallbladder removed at a different hospital. Will never be ba k
