Checked out this downtown Tomball restaurant without any real expectations and was amazed at the culinary experience! The octopus was tender and crunchy, as good as DeMarco, the risotto was creamy and perfect, and the sea-bass rivaled LeMistral/ CoCody downtown Houston. Those are two of my favorite restaurants in all of Houston and now I m excited to find this little jewel so close to home. Everything was fresh. The lettuce so crunchy. The tiramisu and bread pudding were out of this world. They have plans to grow and hopefully Tomball will allow them to expand. This area needs this level of cuisine!!!! Five stars all the way and Jamie was a great waitress who took care of all our needs. I look forward to trying out the Sat or Sun brunch next time around.

The server was nice. Unfortunately thats about all I can say. The food was heavily oversalted. The water needed to flush this down was in very small glasses. I asked for a change of sides, aware that there was likely an upcharge, but when the bill came--$10 for a side of (again oversalted) green beans? I could handle oversalted or an upcharge and still give a 4 star, but not both. What seemed to be a manager was arguing with an apparent new hire telling her thats just the way it is to perfectly legitimate questions and concerns. Not in front of the guests, please.

Its been awhile since weve been back here. I believe we were your first customers the first time you opened the restaurant years ago. Staffed by: Eduardo, Jodie, Jackie, Jason & Adam. Weve made numerous visits since then and have always had a nice experience...until this evening 5.23.24 @ 7ish. We were sitting at the bar and a lady came up behind us and said that she had 2 people that just came in and wanted to be seated at the bar and wanted to know if we could move either direction to make room for them and then said Im not sure who sat you here like this but we dont do this because it doesnt allow room for other people to sit down. Did that really need to be said to us? Maybe thats a conversation to have or remind with the staff or other hostess. We were sitting in the middle. I then said to her we chose these seats. In our opinion she could have said this a thousand different ways but NO she came across as rude, crass with no manners whatsoever when speaking to us and we were in the middle of eating our appetizer until she rudely came up and interrupted us. She spoke to us as if we were kids. We are both in our mid 50s & 60s. If she speaks to customers in this way I truly feel sorry for her family, her staff and for anyone that may know her. She needs to brush up on her interpersonal skills in how to speak to people. If I worked for (assuming she is the manager) Id quit in a New York minute!!! I wouldnt put up with being spoken to by her or anyone else the way she spoke to us. And when she asked if she could take our plates my husband said to her youve already asked us to move and now youre trying to hurry us out of here. We still had drinks to finish. She then got a little confrontational we proceeded to tell her that she was rude in her approach and I said to her maybe you should use your manners and be a little more polite and considerate in asking customers to do something and then I said to her that you didnt even thank us when we did move. She said she did. She didnt. You could tell she was just in hurry for us to move so she could seat the guest that had just walked in. She rudely interrupted us eating to move. She then was a bit arrogant and argumentative and said I can pull the cameras. We were thinking really? You couldnt have heard the conversation over the amount of noise in the restaurant. I mean who says something like that to customers? As if she wanted to prove we were wrong and she was right. She made our evening very unpleasant! Our food on the other hand was outstanding!!! Our server, Lexi E. was very nice, attentive, polite, and kind!!! She was amazing!!! If you have that lady that was wearing the black top with shades of blue & white dot swirls on (maybe shes a manager - not sure?)...you might want to reconsider her position or just get rid of her all together!!! If she is a Manager, she isnt Manager material and not a good representation of your business whatsoever!!! She doesnt have the social skills to be a Manager!!! Parking: Open parking lot behind the restaurant and on the side of the restaurant

First time to visit Bonfire Grill with friends. The appetizers were excellent and lots of Mains to choose from, all delicious. My issue was the very small print on the menu - I chose a dish I thought was $17 - when the bill came it was $37! My husband also thought his was $17 and it was $27! Please make your menu easier to read so there are no surprises with the bill.

The atmosphere is very chill and pub like which was nice. I got a draft beer and it was flat. My wife got the same beer and agreed, she got a different draft beer and had the same results. I would suggest for now, get something in a can. I got the arugula and shrimp salad that looked good on the menu. I thought the shrimp could use some seasoning, and the dressing was a little bland for me. My wife said the pizza was very good. The service was very good.

Further, they didn t want to change the bill once brought to their attention. Needed to kick up a fuss before they did. We use to average going once a month or two. My first time to visit Bonfire Grill. The food was excellent (and pricey.) $65 for the food & drink pictured in my photo. If I m going to pay that much for food, I want the atmosphere to be worth it. There seem to be too many tables in the restaurant. We were squeezed in a 2-top between 2 large parties. When the waiter next to me was taking the other table s order his booty was right at our table s eye level. I would consider going back for happy hour when the weather is nice to sit on the outside patio.

It was a last minute decision to eat here, but Im definitely happy its where we ended up. Im not familiar with the Tomball area so it was pretty much a crapshoot for me and my date that night. The inside was definitely very loud. Luckily, they had one table left outside that they could seat us at. I am very grateful the hostess didnt seem to mind changing the table she was going to put us at because Im very hard of hearing and had we been seated inside, I wouldnt have been able to hear a single thing my date said that night. The atmosphere is delightful and the waitstaff is exceptionally friendly and pleasant. I ordered the Mushroom Petit Filet with Risotto and it was delicious! Its a bit overpriced for the location, but was still a lovely experience.

While the staff was kind, they accidentally gave away our reserved table that we arrived on time for. They did give us a ten dollar credit for the inconvenience. I ordered a medium temperature steak that came out well done with a meh flavor and cold sides that were not as described on the menu. I gave up and ordered the sea pasta, which was good. My husband ordered a medium salmon which also arrived well done and dry, but the dual sauces were good. The adult beverages were watery. The bread pudding- chocolate chips overpowered the bourbon sauce so that it was like eating a wet chocolate chip muffin.

We want to love Bonfire Grill and gave them four tries with mixed results over the last year. But our visit this past Sunday will unfortunately be our last. I hate to post reviews like this, but when youre charging a premium and delivering the minimum, people deserve to be warned. TLDR version - slow service, expensive prices, raw egg, indifferent and patronizing staff/ownership/management/leadership. We arrived around 12:30 - there were only two other parties in the restaurant. We waited about 15 minutes before our waiter visited our table and took our drink order, then another 15 minutes for our beverages to arrive. It took them 40 minutes to serve our food - a hamburger, egg croissant sandwich, and avocado toast with a poached egg. The poached egg was stone cold, so we returned it, asking for another. The waiter condescendingly explained to my wife, That is how the chef says poached eggs are served. We insisted that if it were made fresh, it would still be warm. He returned 5 minutes later with a new plate of avocado toast and RAW egg in a little bowl - Im not exaggerating, the white of the egg was still clear liquid. I told the waiter to remove that entree from our bill and to close us out. While he was taking care of the check, a woman (who I assume is the manager) stopped by to explain to my wife AGAIN how a poached egg should be served, that maybe she just doesnt like eggs prepared in that way, and would she like them to make something else for her. No apology was offered, and the lack of sincerity or care was obvious. At this point, I was visibly angry, and as we were leaving every front-of-house staff member went out of their way to say in a backhanded manner Have a nice day! - each with a big fake smile. Bonfire Grill - you have a top-down leadership problem. You need to reevaluate your customer service model. We love the Main Street scene in Tomball, and it needs a restaurant concept like Bonfire, but you are missing the mark BIG TIME. P.S., please do not respond and try to explain your concept of a poached egg again, were not buying it.

First time we went here it was a 10/10, but this time was not very good. We ordered a salad and it took about 30 mins for them to realize they didnt put in our order. So they rushed the salad out, and the salad came with bacon, but this bacon was still oinking. Meaning this bacon wasnt cooked at all, and it was still in strips? Why would u serve long strips of whole bacon on a wedge salad? Makes no sense. U want me to cut bacon with a butter knife???? Also, the food in general wasnt great, and the service wasnt either. The manager never stopped in to apologize or check on the food/service. Definitely not worth our $150 for a date night. Great place! First time visiting, and it was a hit! The food is made from scratch, and the flavors are amazing. Good customer service from the waitress. I cant remember her name, but she made excellent recommendations. The only thing I kind of thought was that it could be better. A lady (look like the owner or manager because she was dressed differently) took sitting assignments for a while, and she was short with people, meaning that it was not cordial with a greeting, she got menus, sat people down and that was about it. No hi or welcome.......I saw this from her at least 5 different times. Maybe a tough day....? The little things count to make a good experience a great experience and in my opinion, especially in a high-end restaurant. Other than this specific honest review, this place is amazing. The service and the food are delicious and we will return in the future.....also make sure to make a reservation ahead of time!

An hour into the meal I had to find someone to ask about our food. Ten minutes later the food arrived with no explanation. Ive been here twice and wont go back for a third-time. Food is subpar IMHO (putting it nicely). The floors were dirty both times, the bartender was a tool, and management was in the corner ignoring everyone in the restaurant. Our waitress on the second visit was pleasant (first visit the waiter was about as exciting as a dead slug on the sidewalk). There are many places close by with better food, better management, and happier employees (and far less expensive) than this place.

If I could give it less than 1 start I would. Party of 10. Every meat dish came out cold to the touch (but cooked to temp). Manager took a piece of pizza back to the kitchen delivered it back to the owners plate insisting it was adequately cooked . Who touches somebody s food and puts it back on their plate?! Pretty sure the health inspector would frown upon the situation. The conversation about the situation ended up in the parking lot. Constructive criticism was met with absolute denial. Owner + Manager + Staff attitude toward the situation was unbearable. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Ask anybody that lives in Woodtrace. The Facebook page will tell you the same.

Delicious food. Proceed at your own risk if you don t have three hours for Sunday lunch. We ordered drinks right away and then waited for 15 minutes for two cocktails. The server then asked for our appetizer order and we ordered Brussels sprouts for the table. The drinks arrived after 30 minutes and THEN the waitress asked us for our main entree order. The restaurant was pretty full but she was the only server and didn t seem to be aware that there were so many people waiting for her. I told her finally that we had to leave and to bring us the check when she brought the sprouts. She rushed our Brussels sprouts out but they were cold upon arrival. The check never actually came we just gave her our card because it was taking so long for her to check back in. We had to order subway sandwiches online and pick them up after leaving frustrated about the slow service.we spent a total of an hour there for two cocktails and cold Brussels spouts.

Loved that they offered local farm produce and chef specialties. The pizzas were hot from the oven with amazing flavor. We had the creamy chicken pizza that had white sauce, spinach and chicken. Perfect crust and toppings. Tried the brisket ravioli and shared. It had an incredible mild spice from the jalapeño and super flavorful cheese sauce with the smoky brisket. Delicious. We also nibbled on the chef s special watermelon beet salad. I m not a big fan of beets, but with the temperature outside it sounded like a great combo. I was blown away by the scrumptious combo of golden beets that were a little bit sweet, purple beets with vinegar in which the fresh goat cheese paired perfectly, and the watermelon with maybe a balsamic glaze with radish. This dish screamed SUMMER! My only complaint is that is was a little too warm inside the place, but with temperatures outside of 103 plus they get a pass. I recommend this grill!!! (The lemon drop was spot on too!)

Referencing my somewhat difficult to find parking reply- the parking space is adequate for the small dining atmosphere the restaurant provides, but also services other businesses in the area. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bonfire Grill, and I must say that the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an inviting ambiance that set the tone for the evening. The restaurants cozy yet elegant décor created an atmosphere that was both relaxing and sophisticated. The highlight of the evening, however, was not just the exquisite cuisine but also the outstanding service provided by our waiter, Ayden Mason. From the moment he introduced himself with a warm smile, it was evident that we were in for a memorable dining experience. Aydens attention to detail and genuine passion for his role truly stood out. Navigating the menu was a breeze, thanks to Aydens extensive knowledge about each dish at Bonfire Grill. His recommendations were spot-on, and he was more than willing to accommodate any dietary preferences or allergies. It was refreshing to have a waiter who not only understood the menu but also took the time to understand our personal tastes. As for the food at Bonfire Grill, every dish was a masterpiece in its own right. The flavors were harmonious, and the presentation was impeccable. The attention to using fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident in each bite. From appetizers to desserts, every course was a delightful journey for the palate. What truly made this dining experience at Bonfire Grill unforgettable was Aydens exceptional service. He was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed. His timing was impeccable; dishes arrived at the table just as we finished the previous course. Aydens warm demeanor and genuine enthusiasm added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. Its rare to come across a waiter who leaves such a lasting impression, and Ayden Mason at Bonfire Grill is undoubtedly a gem in the hospitality industry. His professionalism, charisma, and dedication to ensuring our satisfaction truly enhanced our evening. In conclusion, Bonfire Grill is a culinary haven that seamlessly combines delectable dishes with remarkable service. If youre seeking an unforgettable dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Bonfire Grill. And if youre lucky enough to have Ayden Mason as your waiter, youre in for a truly extraordinary time. Located in historic downtown Tomball, Bonfire Grill is a charming bar & grill offering comfort food and brunch classics with modern twists. The restaurant boasts a cozy atmosphere with an open kitchen concept, featuring a wood-fired pizza oven. Although the Texas heat might deter some from the large patio seating area, it would be a lovely spot in cooler weather. Notable dishes include the perfectly cooked Creole-Cajun BBQ shrimp and grits, and the well-executed avocado toast. Both are testament to Bonfire Grills ability to deliver on flavor and presentation. The service, while not exceptional, is decent enough to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Prices are reasonable, with menu items ranging from $10 to $20, making it an affordable option for both brunch and casual dining. One area that could use improvement is the restaurants online presence. The website has several dead links, and the social media accounts do not point to the correct locations. Despite this minor hiccup, Bonfire Grill comes recommended for those seeking a cozy spot for brunch or a casual meal in Tomball. Its unique take on comfort food and relaxed atmosphere makes it a place worth visiting.

The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. This place has so much potential! We were all very excited to dine here and thought the menu looked very interesting/promising. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. They food we tried was either mediocre ( the burgers and pizza were all very dry) or bad (the Brussels sprouts were so over cooked they had the texture of mashed potatoes. ) throughout the course of the meal , every request was treated like it was a burden. Not by the server, she was great. But the manager acted as if she did not want to accommodate the reasonable requests that come along in the service industry. For instance , we were waiting a very long time for our food, and one person in our party asked if they could at least have their salad as a starter while we continued to wait for our food. It was accommodated, but the manager made it seem like it was a burden. She also made a snide comment saying I will GLADLY get your server. The final issue that really soured our experience was the bleu salad on the menu is served with butter lettuce in a wedge. One of our diners does not like wedge salads and it was not mentioned in the menu how it was served. The manager seemed to want to argue that s how they serve it (with herself, we were not responding) rather than just take the salad back and off of the bill. Another item of note is that they added gratuity automatically for your party size. We were a party of 8, so I was not totally surprised it was added. However, in my experience, it s it s customary to communicate that policy when the party is seated. Or at least when the bill is given. Instead , I just found it as a surprise once I reviewed the bill. I guess I should have listened to the reviews saying the service was slow and the food was dry and flavorless before coming.

My family and I decided that this restaurant seemed cool and we had heard great things. Unfortunately our experience was awful. I had the NY strip steak, it had absolutely no taste, it was cold, the mashed potatoes likewise had zero flavor whatsoever and the green beans were the same, this dish was $40. It was awful, and to make it worse my party waited more than an hour for our food. The pizzas were completely burnt to the point that it seemed as if there was no sauce at all, they were unbelievably dry. The cheese was so overcooked that it hardened and we were able to peel it off as if it were a piece of plastic. The only redeeming part of the meal was the gouda mac and cheese. The service was fine, we had a very kind and attentive waiter. However, it was not worth the price we paid, at all. *** before the owner starts arguing with me as I have seen he has a habit of doing, save it. A good and experienced restaurateur listens to the feedback they are given, and doesnt stalk the reviews looking to fight with someone. Especially the people who have given money to your restaurant by purchasing food there. Unbelievable.

We went here last minute on our anniversary in March since we didn t have anything planned and have always wanted to try it. We sat at the bar over looking the kitchen and ordered the Brie, margarita pizza, and a white sauce pasta I believe with brisket. The customer service was great. I think they weren t expecting to have the rush from what I overheard but they were all working so hard as a team from what we saw. The cook made small talk with us and was so friendly and attentive to us. The food was enjoyable but I think was not the best it could be. For the Brie with jam, which was very delicious, the salt on the crostinis was a little bit too much for us and a bit over powering, the same with the garlic on the margarita pizza. The pieces of garlic were too big in my opinion. My pasta was also pret good and had good flavor but again the sauce was a little too heavy which again I feel was over powering. Still all pretty good and we left very happy. My boyfriend had the margarita to drink and I do give that a 5 out of 5. It was very well balanced and I m picky with my margaritas. Very well made. Over all I enjoyed this place and the great service and will like to try it again. I promised myself I would write a review because of how pleased I was with our anniversary dinner experience.

Edit: look at this reply from the business. Is this a place you want to go to? Look at the rest of the bad reviews and extremely unprofessional replies. You told the guy you were talking to out side you were the owner. So who are you lying to? I can tell you that this response solidifies the reasoning I gave you a one star review. You*truly* deserve it. Your waitress deserves a better place, she was wonderful and was tipped 18%. It wasnt her fault the kitchen and manager/owner/whatever you are cant take accountability. To be clear at your accusations. I never asked for free food. I never asked for a discount. I never asked for anything, other than to have my meal brought to me that was an acceptable temperature. Original review: I was served luke warm/cold mashed potatoes, and room temperature spinach with my overpriced pork chop. The only thing that warmed my potatoes up was the heat from my pork chop (that was overcooked). I was then confronted by the owner who argued with me about how the food couldnt have been cold. The worst part is, he didnt even offer to remake or reheat it. They just took it like I was satisfied or something. So I just paid $28 for an overcooked pork chop. I guess Ill be getting something on the way home to eat. Ridiculous.

The error was corrected and it still took a long time for him to get it. He ordered an omlette with sausage as a side. He never got the sausage. It doesnt take that long to cook an omlette. The waitress removed the sausage from the order after asking if he still wanted it. We were all pretty much done eating by then, why would he even want it? The food was okay as far as what I had but nothing to write home about. I think some of it is a tad overpriced but the ambience of the restaurant could definitely make up for that. The prices shown on the internet are a bit lower than what they actually are in the restaurant and needs to be updated. The banana bread was really good, but the loaf is extremely small (mini) for the price in my opinion. It was my birthday lunch and my mother always buys a cake, especially now that I cant really eat foods that are high in fat. We do this every year for every birthday. This is the only restaurant that has charged a fee to put the cake in their fridge. And that fee is a whopping $10! I get that they serve deserts there (all appear to have a very high fat content which is normal for most deserts), but so do all of the other restaurants we frequent and no one charges a fee like that. Had we known ahead of time we most likely would have selected another place. We werent rude or ugly at all. Its not our nature to be that way when we dine out. The bill was paid and we left. Needless to say none of us will be returning. Experience is everything. It was really disappointing.

While the restaurant was smaller than expected and was in an old service station garage, the food and drinks were excellent as was the service. It was very popular so we arrived early and by 7:30 it was full. The chefs table caught my eve and I learned that you must reserve it the Tuesday prior to that Saturday. We ordered a J. Lohr red that was some off beat veriatal and the waitress tried to waive us off, but we made the mistake of ignoring her. After we finished that bottle of dishwater, (I now understand why they say full-bodied red) we got another that was excellent. I was very happy and surprised to find such a nice restaurant in Tomball. It had an Ian McPhees vibe.
