Had a fabulous dinner here last night. Greeted warmly at the door. Ordered the Caesar salad, French Dip, 2 hot dogs (Astros night), salmon bowl and short rib plus a variety of drinks. We were not disappointed! All of the food was exceptional, the service was outstanding and we even got a tableside visit from the owner, Matt Brice. My new favorite restaurant! ***come in for the hot dogs on Astros days, they are truly delicious. ***

Great place to dine. A bit upscale but felt totally comfortable, casual for lunch. Staff was great! Great service and the food was delicious! We came looking for fish and chips (none, old posting) but the salmon was delicious as was the meatloaf. Will be back to try other menu items. This is a great location for a nice dinner experience. Good layout and offers outside patio. There is an enclosed glass area for a large gathering. They had a good price on an old fashion whiskey . Likely a lunch option. Dining decor nice.

Harlee, at the bar, was wonderful. She was not only attentive, but very friendly as well. The cocktails and food were fantastic. Im going back tomorrow night. UPDATE: I went back the following night for a SMALL BATCH Dinner, (see uploaded photos). Once again, Federal American Grill knocked it out of the park! It was held in a private dining area where we interacted with each other, the staff and representatives from James B Beam Distilling Co. The prefixed menu was fabulous, as was the selection of bourbons we sampled. These events dont take place often, but the good news is that Federal American Grill doesnt save their best for these special events. Go check them out and see for yourself!

**Review for Federal American Grill - The Woodlands** Last weekend, my husband and I decided to have an early dinner at Federal American Grill, and it was an excellent choice! We made a last-minute reservation, and to our delight, we were seated right away. The friendly staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in, setting a great tone for the evening. One of the highlights of our meal was the complimentary bread served with a fantastic spicy jam its a must-try! We skipped appetizers to save room for our entrees, which turned out to be a wise decision because we were absolutely delighted with what we ordered. We tried the highly recommended short ribs, and just like everyone said, it was delicious! The flavors were rich and satisfying. We also opted for the ribeye steak, which is always a great idea. Cooked to perfection, it was juicy and bursting with flavor. Another nice feature is their rewards program, which offers gift cards after spending a certain amount. It s a great incentive for us to keep coming back! Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Federal American Grill, and we cant wait to return to try more entrees and, of course, enjoy that amazing bread and spicy jam again! Highly recommend!

My mother recommended this restaurant after hearing about it on a radio show, and it did not disappoint. We celebrated our birthdays there, and everything from the food to the service and atmosphere was absolutely incredible! Bryce, our server, made us feel completely at home, even though it was our first visit. Chef Papalino personally came out to ensure our meal was perfectly prepared, and the manager was so warm and friendly. As a special touch, they gave us birthday cards signed by the staff to make the celebration even more memorable. Well definitely be returning, and I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking great food and a fantastic atmosphere.

I visited Federal American Grill in the Woodlands last Sunday and had a somewhat disappointing experience. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the service was slower than expected. It took nearly 25 minutes to receive our drinks and another 20 minutes to get our food. We ended up waiting almost 30 minutes without anything, which was frustrating. The waiter did apologize, but we couldn t quite understand why there was such a delay. We ordered a variety of items, including burgers, a Philly cheesesteak, and the HW brunch menu. The pancakes were decent, and the Philly cheesesteak and burger were okay, but the fries were a letdown they tasted like they were frozen rather than fresh-cut. Some fries even came out cold, which was disappointing. When the waiter asked if we wanted more fries, we declined because we assumed they would be the same. Unfortunately, nothing was taken off the bill or discounted despite the issues we experienced. One particularly frustrating detail was how the cheesesteak was prepared. It seemed like they just slapped a spoonful of cheese on one side of the sandwich, with barely any sauce. I ended up having to use some sauce from my friend s burger just to make it more enjoyable. Additionally, the food wasn t particularly hot when it arrived, almost as if it had been sitting out for a while before being brought to our table. On top of that, they didn t provide the full brunch menu, so we mistakenly assumed that the HW brunch 2-course meal was the only option, which felt limiting. While this visit didn t meet my expectations, I ve had better experiences at other locations, so I might try a different one next time

Unfortunately this was a terrible experience. We stopped by after church. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with an omelette. All the food was cold and then when my water glass was being refilled the water boy knocked my glass over and spilled water all over me. I m glad it was only water. The manager took $12.00 off the bill but the meal was so subpar IHOP would have been better. We usually have a great meal here but this was not. Probably will not be back. Brunch was $50.00 and we had no liquor! Very expensive and disappointing

First time eating here so me and my three companions decided to give it a chance. It s sooo worth it. The atmosphere was very relaxing with old school music in the background so you can jam while waiting for your food lol. Our waiter was very nice & patient with us making sure we had refills and anything we needed. The food omg lol i just wanna say the food is amazing!! I had for a starter the cheeseburger egg rolls with some special sauce yummy then the chicken and waffles . My sister ordered the burger and fries while my mom and aunt ordered the Philly also yummy. They also had a separate glass room for parties and the room was beautiful . So I do give this place a 10/10. It s a must no matter what occasion.

I have been here twice and my wife went once without me and also agreed with my opinion. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service has always been excellent but the food is average at best. The menu is not very interesting and the food is ok but it never left me saying, that was good . The burgers are very bun heavy as well as the steak sandwich. The fries were actually awful. They were undercooked and soggy. I went for brunch and it was nothing to talk about either. I think a lot of people want to support this business but there is way too much restaurant competition out there for it not to have GREAT food. It really needs some work on the menu, recipes and execution

We attended a birthday celebration over the weekend. There were about 20 guests. We were served buffet style. The salad selection started off the meal.The selections were excellent, beef spareribs, grilled chicken, and grilled shrimp. The vegetable selection was broccoli, brussel sprouts, and macaroni and cheese. Our server, Zachary was top notch. He is very professional, welcoming and helpful. A lot of us had not been there before.Everything ran so smoothly. He helped take pictures. He is perfect for groups. He really helped make this very special occasion and awesome. My first visit here about a few weeks ago was outstanding. It was just my husband and I, we were excited to bring the family . I made a reservation for 6 today (made it days ago) which wasn t prepared when we came in. The server today was disappointing, no recommendations given, slow to get back to table, wasn t friendly, it was just so incredibly disappointing, the gentleman we had last time was so great, walking is was warm it just wasn t good. We he brought our ticket he let us know upon handing it to us gratuity was included for 6 people (well we didn t know that but whatever I guess ) and we feel maybe he didn t put much effort into our table because the gratuity, or maybe he just thought we were not tipping idk. The food is good I wish the service from beginning to end was the same.

We had a wonderful time and the food and service were fantastic! My wife and a friend each tried the braised ribs and were very pleased, another friend tried the crabcake and daid it was the bedt dhe had ever had! I had the cheeseburger with crispy fries and think it was one of the best burgers I ever had! Our server was Issac, he was very personable with a great sense of humor and exceeded my expectations. We also had desert, even if you are not a gluten free person try the only gluten free desert, you will not be disappointed. While they have a full bar, we had coffee (and waters) and the total before tip, there were four adults, was $160.00. If you like the ambiance of semi-formal dining complete with white table cloths you should definitely try them, we will be back!

On June 26, we were at the location in The Woodlands as guests of AAA Travel, AMA Cruises and Rocky Mountaineer Rail. This was a group function of about 35-40 people. I ve been dining in the area for one year and a half, and this hands-down is the BEST RESTAURANT IN THE WOODLANDS! I truly don t know where to begin except for Rick is an amazing server and I got to meet Jason the GM and told him he needs to get up to Dallas and open a restaurant up north it would be fabulous. This is a complete form to Table restaurant with Wagyu beef - they start with scrumptious, soft and tender, homemade biscuits from scratch with a type of jalapeño jelly and fresh whipped butter. Decadent! Being a food critic, I had to try a bit of everything so Ricki brought me out a sample of the soup du jour, It was a beef broth soup with a bit of barley and vegetable, not too salty and just absolutely wonderful. It was perfection. I ordered the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer cooked absolutely perfectly. The shrimp was fresh just enough spiciness, and a perfect zing to start out the meal.. Served on a bed of greens. I was debating over the meatloaf which they are known for but opted for the short rib, which I am extremely picky when it comes to red meat- It did not disappoint!! Absolutely the best short rib I ve had in the USA and my reviews are all over the place on the mainland and in Europe. This dish stood out amongst any I ve ever had. It is served on a bed of risotto with a slight bit of spinach. It was wonderful and perfectly seasoned tender, and I cannot say enough about how wonderful it actually was.- I had a lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc recommended by Ricky since I only do a Reisling, and he chose well! Perfect . He suggested that I close the meal with a butter cake, beautiful succulent, strawberries with a strawberry glace , homemade whipped cream with a bit of mint on top. it was a bit chilly so I had to tell him that I could tell it had been in the refrigerator, but had it been a bit warmer it was a fabulous decadent dessert with a great flavor of butter. Very moist. This restaurant is a GEM and anyone dining across the highway is making a huge mistake. This is hands-down the best restaurant in The woodlands .. thank you to Jason for coming over to speak to me the GM, a fine job by all great service the hostesses at The Front all smiles follow up table service from all the other servers was absolute perfection. This restaurant is complete and I mean a complete dining experience. I felt comfortable as I was not dressed up like usual, and there was a bit of everything from really dressy to casual. That ambience was casual, but very, very classy and the restrooms are immaculate. Well, done!

Bread and pepper jelly is AMAZING! The bread is so light and fluffy you dont even feel heavy after eating 5 or 6 pieces! The crab cakes were at least 95% crab! It was moist and delicious ! Drinks are very well balanced and the staff is very attentive. Not just your server, but the whole staff. We went to celebrate our anniversary, while Frank was parking the car, the hostess said follow me Mrs. Johnson, Happy anniversary. I forgot my reading glasses and they came back with three different kinds of prescription reading glasses and left them with me during my whole stay. Casual dress but great ambiance. Your welcome bread, appetizer and meals are spread out in such a great timely manner. You get time to enjoy each course. Your not hurried. Taylor and Mynor are the total bomb. My husband and them made for a memorable experience! If your a drinker, definitely try the Flaming Oldie! Niko the manager is professional and so nice. Sphere ice cubes, that dont water down your drink, best invention ever! I had the Diver Scallops with smoked pork belly, bacon and mushroom risotto and Cajun lobster sauce. Frank Johnson had Janices meatloaf with potatoes and crispy onion strings. We spent less than $200 for 2 drinks a piece, appetizer and 2 fabulous meals and tip. I totally recommend this place! They even give you a purse holder!

Found Federal American Grill via a Google search. Would agree with the reviews regarding the quality of the food. The server was well acquainted with the menu and had several recommendations. I went with the fish special, and it exceeded my taste expectations. However, the portion verses price is pretty wide. This was disappointing because I left hungry and could have gone a 1/2 mile down the road and had twice the seafood at a lower cost. I would like to give it another try and have one of the other dishes that were recommended, but portion size is a concern. Plenty of tvs around with sporting events broadcasting. Was glad to be able to watch the Stanley Cup NY hockey game.

Only thing was that my boyfriend got gift card for being a firefighter and for some reason they claimed their system was down and that the cards were valid but couldn t be used that day , which was weird since our regular debit card was able to be used . Update 5/11/24: We came back again to celebrate an early Mother s Day, and once again had a great experience! We had the braised short rib again (because it was so delicious last time we couldn t resist), the cheeseburger sliders, the carrot cake, and the bread pudding. Everything was delicious and the service was amazing! this place does not disappoint! Dinner tonight at the Federal American Grill was outstanding! We had the tortilla soup, braised short rib bordelaise with risotto and sautéed spinach, and the akaushi wagyu meatloaf with mashed potatoes and fried onions also with bordelaise sauce. For dessert, we shared the bourbon caramel bread pudding. The meat on both dishes was tender and tasty. The combination of spinach and risotto really worked well with the rib meat. Every bite of every dish was delicious! And our server, (Giovanni I think ) was friendly and helpful with choosing from the menu. Definitely one of our best meals out in a while!

Went for dinner yesterday. The atmosphere was nice, and service was good. I had the brûlée orange old fashion. I asked for an extra cherry and to my surprise was told it would cost $1 for that one single cherry. Ummm what? It s not guac, lol. The waiter asked if I wanted my drink neat or on the rocks. I told him I d like it on a large cube the way old fashions are typically served. I was once again told that a large ice cube would be an additional dollar. Are you serious?! I ve worked in the fine dining industry for over 25 years and never charged a guest for an ice cube, let along a cherry on a $15 drink. Just seemed very tacky guys. You re better than that My steak was overcooked by 3 temps, but still flavorful. The calamari was delicious and cooked perfect. All in all for the price, I was hoping for a better experience.

My husband and I went for dinner on 5/1/24. Wonderful experience!! Off the bat the hostess was welcoming and so sweet. Our waiter, Blake was super cool and very attentive. The food was really good. We had the sticky ribs. We also got the half portions of the truffle stuffed chicken and chicken fried steak. Perfect portion sizes. And our cocktails were amazing. My husband s old fashion was one of the best he has had, and my dirty martini was perfect. Lastly, do yourself the favor and get the butter cake! The entire staff was great and we loved the atmosphere. You can tell the restaurant is managed very well. Also, I don t think our water glasses ever went below the rim a full inch. A very nice gentleman was there to refill immediately. Will definitely be going back.

We came here for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Everyone was very welcoming and we had a great time! My fiancé has been talking about hearing good things and wanting to try this place for a while and i m glad I finally listened. We ordered way too much food: the fresh oysters, kung pao calamari, braised short rib, truffle stuffed chicken, bourbon bread pudding and the half baked chocolate chip cookie but everything was AMAZING. I ate here for the first time tonight and loved it! The service was absolutely perfect and multiple servers as well as the manager would regularly check in to make sure we needed anything. It was ok. Our waiter was nice but sitting outside I felt we kept being forgotten. However they offered bread and it was super dry even with the butter. No salt n pepper, had to ask for sugar for my tea, and by the time they got back to my table the ice melted, but the server made up for it by bringing back a fresh glass. The torch lights outside, were beautiful. I ll go back to get the full experience of eating inside, we didn t have 30 mins to wait because we were headed to a later event and couldn t wait so we dined outside. Had the blackened fettuccini and honestly there wasn t that much sauce and the chicken was dry. We were celebrating a graduation and daughter got a complimentary bread pudding which was good. At the end of the night, I was with my family and it turned out to be a good night anyway. I feel this would be a good date night place.

My friend and I stopped by Federal American Grill a few days ago, and it was worth the visit. She ordered the dynamite shrimp for her entrée along with a few ribs as an appetizer. I ordered the red fish with rice ans crab meat. It was delicious, and our server JT was professional and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. I know comedy is subjective, but he definitely added a bit of levity to the evening. He did a wonderful job of covering the menu, advising about the numerous whiskeys available, and he checked on us an adequate number of times while we sat outside. First-time customers but it wont be our last visit. JT served us a spectacularly wonderful meal. We started with a ginormous stacked crab cake (if you like a lot of breading in your crab cake, then, you wont like this crab cake because it a stack of 99.2% jumbo lump crab meat!!!!) Then, we ordered the diver scallops! O...M...G.....be sure to get them WITH the risotto!! Yes, try the risotto....such a creamy, delicious accompaniment for those beautiful scallops. From the warm and inviting greeting at the front door to the end of the meal...my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience as we celebrated our lives. I also noted the extremely well-stocked bar......certainly, I KNOW I heard those bar stools calling my name!!. PS: As I understand, the new downtown location is about 10 blocks from Minute Maid park with valet parking and a shuttle back and forth to the baseball games for FAGrill patrons. Sounds irresistible to me!.

This restaurant holds a place in my heart. My wife loves steak, and I love seafood, and here we have our best and most romantic date nights. The atmosphere is beautiful and the menu is so well crafted - a special dish for anyone. You can always expect the service to be top notch, as if dining among the elite. Whether you enjoy fresh oysters and perfectly cooked shrimp and fish, or a filet topped with crab, you should take my word for it and try this place. It seems a league above the others. P.S. There is only one thing better than the food, it is the service! Curtis is one of the best servers we have ever had. He could write a book on hospitality. I will be honest I was beyond hangry and exhausted! After having 30 minutes of sleep after working an ICU night shift, driving to Huntsville, sitting through a meeting, driving all over Huntsville we finally decided to grab some food. My wife and I were immediately seated on a busy Friday night. Water and fresh baked bread were immediately delivered to our table. The server, Curtis appeared just as I shoveled the first bite of bread in my mouth! I swear this guy could read my mind! He suggested an old Fashioned and told me how amazing their oysters are. I have had oysters all over this country, Damariscotta, Maine used to be my go to. No, the tiny sweet oysters they served tonight with Mignonette sauce were perfection. Curtis knew the entire menu like the back of his hand. He was able to tell my wife how to make the best dishes gluten free. Of all the wonderful dishes, I had to try the roasted chicken. The skin had the perfect crunch and the meat was juicy and perfectly cooked. If you have not had their Lemon Basil dressing it pairs perfect for all the foodies out there. The bar staff suggested the perfect white wine to pair with this chicken. The manager sent over a gluten free chocolate brownie that was so moist yet had a slight crunch of a perfectly Baked brownie without the gluten free after taste. I went in on my own and it was really packed and lively. Ive been here before once and really liked the food and the biscuits with the pepper jam. The first guy came by and I got biscuits pretty quickly but then it took about 20 minutes for someone to take my order while I was reading my book alone. Then the order took about 45 minutes or so to get to the table. It was a busy night and they had a special event but I wish someone told me that or gave me some kind of ETA. We ordered the spinach dip and I was very happy , it was very good. , next came the chopped salad and again very happy with my choice , everything was fresh. Danny came by often even to make sure we were good. He informed us that our plates would be out shortly they were just running a little behind, no biggie , it s a restaurant and it happens. Our steaks came out and sadly they were cold and while I ordered medium well, my steak was bone dry, and the truffle Mac and cheese was luke warm. We will of course go back and try something else. Could have just been an off night.

Had a great experience on Friday night. JT was our server and did a wonderful job. Was personable, humorous and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. We even had 2 little ones (3 & 7) and he interacted well with them and actually believed me when I said theyll take their steak Med-Rare. Then they actually came out Med-Rare which was nice. The oysters may have been the only low point. Had 6 raw and 6 Rockefeller. They were just fine... nothing special but honestly probably not worth the $3.50/ea. I had a redfish special, wife had chk fried steak, dad had fillet steak/shrimp special and mom had meatloaf. No complaints on food at all. The bathroom is one of those with a quirk too, lots and lots of signs with funny sayings or stories to do with boozin. All in all, the food was solid and worth it, but it was the service that set the experience apart. Ask for JT, he will take great care of you
