Nice selection of menu options, beef and chicken and your traditional bbq sides. The dining area is large; able to accommodate at least 30 tables and outdoor seating as well. There s a bar, however it was not open while we were there.

We ordered at 4:36. Our order arrived at 5:25 they said it only takes 20 to deliver at Keyworth Brewery They hold our order to deliver 4-5 more orders from people that order after... Of course our food was cold. Small portion for two meats 1 slice of bread We will not recommend this BBQ place. Do better.

I travel a lot for my job and fly all over the country. During my stay in Dallas this week, I asked a one of the guys I worked with if he could recommend a great place to get BBQ brisket and ribs. This was the place and for the love of God I m so glad I asked. Two of us ended up going and I ordered the 3 meat plate with ribs, brisket and sausage. Sides were jalapeño macaroni and mashed potatoes. Banana pudding for desert. The food here is so good I practically made a scene in the place. The only thing worth keeping quiet for was to eat more. The ribs are by FAR the best I ve ever had in my life and put southern BBQ in Tennessee to shame. The owner Mark walked by and I was ready to sell my soul to know what rub he seasoned the ribs with. He brought me some to take home to Connecticut land of no BBQ. The banana pudding desert ended up in bed with me and didn t survive the night. If you visit anywhere in Texas with in an hour of here, make it a priority to visit Mark and try my biggest reason to rant about Texas. You will NOT regret it. Joe Papa Middletown, CT

I am in love with Back Forty Smokehouse!! Every time I come here the food is sooo delicious and there s never a wait. I definitely recommend this place whether as a date or a casual night out. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable. I am never disappointed when I came to eat here! Update: Still loving Back Forty Smokehouse! This is the BEST bbq I have ever had and is very reasonably priced! Even though my family came in as a last minute party, they wasted no time at provided us a table for all 13 of us, and we had not wait for anyone s food! I love coming here for any occasion: birthday, anniversary, work, casual, you name it! Back Forty is my number one suggestion! Parking: Two parking lots, one on either side of the building. At least 30-40 spots total. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps outside, one step inside if you sit in a certain area, a ramp throughout the whole front and plenty of places inside for wheelchair seating

Probably the worst BBQ I ve ever had. Got the 2 meat platter on a Tuesday. Let s just say the toasted bread was more moist than my brisket Pretty obvious they were serving me brisket that was probably reheated from days ago. Highly do not recommend ever going but if you do I bet the only time the bbq is fresh is on the weekend.

I used to love this place. However for the past two years; this place has seem to fallen in terms of flavor quality and listening to simple instructions. The AM Meat Cutter - one of most inept individuals Ive met at a BBQ place. How have worked at a place for more than 2 years and still dont know the difference between moist and lean brisket? I stopped going to Back Forty for over a year because of this individual not listening to my order and just giving me what HE THINKS I want. My last visit I asked for moist brisket with the fat still on it. He looked confused still. I ended getting one piece of brisket and 3 CHARRED, crispy pieces of meat. (Think overcooked, too crunchy burnt ends) Please replace this gentleman with someone that LISTENS to guests. Food - The quality had gone downhill quickly. Theres no smoky flavor and barely any seasoning to the meat. The last time I ordered (2 meat plate brisket and ribs), the ribs were dry and flavorless. The batch I got tasted worse than Spring Creek or Dickeys. The SIDES had more flavor than the meat and usually when that happens, its time to hope for the best for the business.

My first experience with this place was trying the takeout. I was super impressed with the turkey sandwich. The bun was awesome, the meat was moist and there was a ton of it, and the bbq sauce wasn t too sweet. I really enjoyed it. I wish I could say I enjoyed my second experience as much. The second time, we ate there. We went during the early evening and it was pretty empty. We walked in and the people behind the counter were busy making orders. I m not sure who the orders were for (maybe a lot of online orders?) because like I said, it was pretty empty. An employee behind the counter let us know they would be with us in a moment. My party just stood there for probably 10 to 12 minutes waiting to order. After we did order, we got a couple of items right then, but also got a number tent to bring to the table for the sides and a meal. Which is fine, no big deal. But after a couple of minutes it felt like they forgot about us. We had to remind them about the rest of our order before the sides came out. Let me say right here that the fries were superb. So good! The turkey sandwich was ok, but not nearly as good or loaded as it had been the first time. The dining area was really, really warm. Like flushed cheeks, light sweat warm. Things just got weirder from here. There was a party of three that seemed to be getting personally served from the owner or manager. They came in after us and had very large drinks from the bar and HUGE platter (delivered with a smile) from the apparent manager before we even had all of our food. We were told that the cashier was new and had forgotten to put in one of the items we ordered. After waiting again, the item came and the manager was honestly really rude about it. The fries weren t with the burger and he straight up blamed a person in our party for telling him that someone else didn t order fries. We weren t pitching a fit or anything and he decided to snap at us. He also very loudly called an employee from across the restaurant at one point. Between blaming his own employee and then blaming us, it seemed like the guy just couldn t take responsibility. It just all felt very disjointed, unnecessary, and awkward. It was a very poor experience and we won t be back because of it. The photos are pictures of the super gross sink faucet in the women s restroom. Another member of my party said the paper towel holder in the men s bathroom had been torn off of the wall and the paper towels were just sitting in a puddle. If this is the cleanliness of an area the customers can see, what does the kitchen look like?

This was my first time here and I thought it was decent. Unfortunately, they were out of ribs, which is how I usually judge a BBQ place. But the brisket sandwich I had was pretty good. I found the mac and cheese too soupy, but the potato salad was good. The staff behind the counter seemed distracted, and although we said it was our first time there, they offered no help in describing anything or letting us know what was good. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but it would have been way better customer service. Im not sure if well go back, but it was worth trying out.

Mashed potatoes tasted like a cross of instant and some real. A lot of water in them. Macaroni was liquid and room temp. I exchanged for ranch beans they were good. Jalapeño sausage was delish as always. Tried the chicken fried chicken it was mid. Didn t expect a ton from a BBQ place. I think it would be good but the gravy was flavorless. It was literally just a semi warm liquid with no flavor. It s been about 6 months since I ve been here. Something s off. Maybe a bad day. Smoked meats were great.

My baked potato was a day old tasting. My son had ribs and they were dry. My husband had brisket which made him sick the next day. The staff were nice but mixed up some of our orders and some in our party got their food a while after their main entree. But the place was clean and they were helpful staff. We were there for my birthday, the 17 of my family and the only ones there mostly. Not a busy place. Kid-friendliness: Yes

I visited this restaurant for the first time and probably wont be back. The food was unimpressive at best and most was room temperature. We wanted to sample everything they had to offer and got 2 of the 3 meat plates, each comes with 2 sides. $50 later, which I thought was reasonable, we had pulled pork, ribs, chicken, turkey, sliced brisket, and German sausage. For sides we got pinto beans, green beans, jalapeno mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. German Sausage - 5/5 - by far the best thing we got. Great flavor, a little heat, nice snap to the casing. Would come back just for this. Turkey - 4/5 - tender with a good smoke ring. Not the best Ive had but I would get it again. Ribs, sliced brisket, pulled pork - 2.5/5 - all three of these were bad for different reasons. The ribs has no flavor, but were cooked okay. The brisket was dry, and tasted like pot roast. The pulled pork was covered in their sauce, which it desperately needed, but congealed into a blob of stringy greasy meat. Chicken - 1/5 - just bad. It was overcooked, dry, flavorless, and cold when we got it. Green Beans - 3/5 - best side we got, which is sad because its italian style green beans with a hint of bacon. Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and Pinto Beans - 2.5/5 - boring. House made mashed potatoes had skins in them but little flavor. The pinto beans had flavor but were generic and blah. Jalapeno Mac and Cheese - 1/5 - super runny cheese sauce with no flavor. There was a hair in ours. Cold when we got it. Overall the sausage and turkey were the best things we got, aside from the Texas toast, but how can you screw up toast? We went at lunch time on a Sunday, when I expected everything to be fresh, but everything felt like it had been sitting out for a while. For the price, the amount of food we got was fair compared to many other local BBQ joints, but the quality was lacking.

Looks like a cool BBQ place.... I got 2 meat special with a drink and cobbler for dessert. The brisket had barely any smoke flavor and was not seasoned at all. The sausage was bland. The green beans were good. The ranch beans were room temp almost cold and tasted exactly like the canned stuff. The cobbler was cold, which is very disappointing. Not worth the near $30 for a lunch for one person.

Extraordinary Experience: My wife and I happened by in a quest for Chicken Fried Steak and although we would not expect to find it in a Barbecue Restaurant, Google Maps said it would be here and so it was! And my goodness, it was Gigantic! This Plate-Sized Behometh was well-breaded, dripping with gravy and Delectable. Sides of Green Beans and Taters were also amply portioned and Delish. And it was with my Gamblers Spirit, (never leave the table when on a roll), I tried the Ribs,.. and was not disappointed. Juicy, Smokey and with a Unique Bark these Ribs satisfied. But more impressive than the Fare was the kind attentions giving us by Mark, Owner /Operator of Back Forty. He made sure we were comfortable and happy; even making valuable menu substitutions to quell our finicky tastes! Rest Assured we left Fat & Happy with plenty of take-out to snack at home. I used ubereats to order from here. First time customer and they already are going to be my stop for bbq from now on!! I got a brisket sandwich (I added two sides). The brisket was hands down the best brisket I have had in a long time.. maybe ever! It was not dry at all and so good in that sandwich. I ordered ranch pinto beans and Mac & Cheese. They were sold out of the Mac & cheese, so they gave me two ranch beans instead.. I m not complaining as those beans are delicious too!! Sweet but not too sweet, just perfect in my opinion. They even wrote a hand note saying that s what they did, and I also got the individual banana pudding from them too.. to my surprise, they added an extra banana pudding for me due to being out of the mac and cheese, completely unprompted! I work in customer service, so to me I m never picky over something that s out of their control. But this was so thoughtful and made my night. I get BBQ places tend to sell out of items and this was an afternoon order on probably a busy Sunday of business. The hand note was beyond appreciated and the extra banana pudding was so nice of them to include! FOR THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH UBEREATS* most places won t substitute if they run out (as there isn t a way for app users to communicate to restaurant and vice versa) so adding double of the side still in stock was top tier service. As well as giving me another banana pudding! For those of you getting deliveries through ubereats, they really are great at packaging and getting food to you quickly on their end. Sorry for no photos but I scarfed everything down so fast. I m full so my banana puddings will have to wait for later!

Ordered the meat baked potato. The potato was undercooked and harder in the center. Luke warm at best. I had the pulled pork as my meat of choice, and it was eeh okay at best. Dried out and tough flavor was there just not enough to make me want to finish it. Again, Luke warm at best the cheese did not even melt. Neither my wife nor I thought enough about it to want to take the leftovers home. In a word Disappointed

My first time dining at Back Forty Smokehouse. I ordered the 2-meat plate (my choices: boneless chicken breast and jalapeno sausage) with a choice of either two sides or fries (I believe the fries are hand-cut); I chose fries. The BBQ sauce choices are regular and spicy, but I asked for both. Both meats were very tasty, with a mild smokiness, and the fries stayed hot for quite a while. I really liked both BBQ sauces. Both had a smokey vinegar/pepper taste, but the spicy definitely had that kick on the back end. The restaurant has an inviting front porch area and a outside patio area, should you want to dine alfresco. Since we are experiencing a terrible summer heat wave right now, I recommend dining inside with a cool beverage. Oh, and this place has a bar, too. The interior is a rustic meets slightly industrial look, with some exposed brick walls. They also have plenty of TVs to watch your favorite sport. Decent amount of parking available. Overall, I really enjoyed Back Forty Smokehouse and will definitely come back for more. I really want to come back here when and if the weather turns cooler for the fall season.

The brisket and ribs are to die for. The sauce is perfect, not sweet, not tart just perfect. The staff is knowledgeable when asked about the cuts and were helpful on the menu since it was our first time in. This is my new favorite BBQ place in the State of Texas not just the DFW area. I will be bringing friends here to impress.

My girlfriend and I split a 3 meat plate and enjoy a couple drinks. Plenty of food for us and it tastes great! Not overly seasoned or overly smoked. The sides suit us. Most of the time, not noisy or packed full of abnoxious people and screaming kids. We can actually enjoy conversation. Pulled pork sometimes unavailable later in the day. Deck can be buggy certain seasons and time of day. On occasion theres a band. Plan accordingly.

This place is hit and miss with the ribs especially! I live close by and come here at least 3 to 4 times a year. One time the ribs are awesome and next time not so much. Todays vist was a miss for sure. The ribs didnt have hardly any taste. No smoke favor and no smoke smell? Not sure if they changed up on the wood? A few visits back I was saying these are the best ribs I ever had and this time I had my wife and son both say we could have had better ribs at home . Now the sides were still good and love the real sugar soda pop machine! Will be back but please work on being more consistent on your ribs

Was the best choice we made for over 60 guests. During the planning of our daughter s college graduation party, we set out to try different smoke houses with goal of picking one to cater. When we went to Back Forty BBQ to test, there wasn t anything we didn t like! We ve ordered from there quite a few times before the party just to make sure that the quality was the same each and every time, it was fantastic! The owner, Mark, was very gracious and informative every step of the way. He contacted us the day of to let us know he was running a little behind, but we weren t worried. The food was outstanding! Everyone at the party raved about the food and had more than one helping! We did moist brisket, turkey breast, German sausage, Mac n cheese, jalapeño mac n cheese, pinto beans, bbq beans, potato salad, coleslaw and green beans we were not disappointed. And leftover food was just as good the next day!

Price ratio to portions was not that great, I didnt feel like we got our moneys worth the amount of food we got, although it was good food. The service I felt like we were being rushed through the order line, didnt have a good chance to look at whats on the menu because as we got up there they said... What can we get for you? And I had to repeat it three different times. I probably wont go here again, Id rather just make the trip over to Hard 8 BBQ

There were several booths with unattended children blaring obnoxious videos at full volume. Kinda weird to have kids sitting alone like that in a place with a full bar. Kinda ruined our dinner. Hard to have a conversation and enjoy your meal when baby shark is blaring in your ear.
