Theres a lot of places to choose from, go with one that is actually on the river like Texas Tubes so your not taking an extra shuttle ride. The people working here are really nice and helpful. They arent trying to nickle and dime you like a lot of the competition. You might save $20 going somewhere else but it aint worth it.

2024- September. There were lots of parking spaces. We were directed to park in the spill parking area which is about a 2-minute walk to the entry. On the spill parking lot, the staff took our payment, gave us our bracelets, gave us tokens for the tubes, and we signed the waiver. No need to make reservations. We walked to the starting point- of the tube entry, where the main parking lot is located, the restrooms (3 stalls & 1 changing room in the womens restroom), showers, free lockers, life vests for people who want or need them, and an area to get the tubes. They can also hold your car keys for you for free, all they need is your drivers license. The water was not warm, but not freezing. It was refreshing for the hot weather. The water current was also very slow in most parts. Some parts of the river were shallow and some were deep. It is bordered by homes and rentals, along both sides. No scenery. We did see 2 ducks and some birds. Not one staff talked about safety. You have to read it. I saw 2 lifeguards in one of the chutes. I may have missed the others. There were 2 mild chutes. But my son fell over his tube on one of the chutes. No staff will help you get in or get out of the water. Getting out of the water was a challenge! The exit area was deep. There were a few stair steps that were uneven and covered by moss. There was no platform to stand up to and nothing to catch your tube if you were not able to hang on to it while you pulled yourself up. Also, the water current in this area was a bit faster than most spots on the river. There were only 3 handrails with a rope at the end for people to grab on. And again, no staff to assist you. You pulling yourself up while hanging on to your tube was very DIFFICULT! You then carry your tube up two flights of stairs to a parking lot where a shuttle is waiting to take you back to the entry point. Your tube is your ticket to the shuttle. So dont leave or let go of your tube! The water was refreshing and the staff were nice. From the time we arrived at the parking lot to the time we were back to our car, took 3 hours. 2.5 hours of that was in the water. Have fun floating!

We are extremely grateful with the owner because he gave us a ride in his personal vehicle to our car. I tried sending him money for the ride, but he just wanted to make sure we made it back safe. He wasnt annoyed or mad, he just did it out of the kindness of his heart. Ive never left a review of anything before, but this definitely deserves it.

An Unforgettable Tubing Experience! I recently had the pleasure of tubing with Texas Tubes on the Comal River, and it was an absolute blast! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect day on the river. The tubes were in great condition, and the rental process was quick and easy. We appreciated the convenient shuttle service that took us to the starting point and picked us up at the end. The Comal River itself is beautiful, with clear, cool water and gentle currents that made for a relaxing float. One of the highlights was the three chutes we encountered along the way, adding a bit of excitement to our leisurely float. The atmosphere was fun and laid-back, with everyone on the river in high spirits. We also loved that Texas Tubes provided a secure place to store our keys, so we didn t have to worry about losing them in the water. Overall, Texas Tubes offers an outstanding tubing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing day on the Comal River. We ll definitely be back! Heard they are open till October!!

We rented 6 tubes and 1 had a hole. We realized before the shoot but it was still a 100 yard swim back to Texas Tubes. I let the young man at the tube line know and he gave me a replacement. I said we rented 6 tubes and my wife was watching 5 of them with our three kids while I brought this tube back is there anything you can do? The young man said they don t do refunds. I asked if there was a manager available and the you woman behind the counter laughed. I understand using Highschool help during the summer but to have 4 HS kids running the business is ridiculous. We will rent from Landa or any of the other great tube businesses locally next time.

Pros: you have your choice of tubes, with or without a bottom. The price is reasonable, $25 per person. The tubes are good quality and have a cup holder. Its fairly easy to get into the river, there is a nice set of steps and a ladder leading to the water. Everyone we encountered were super friendly and helpful. Cons: parking is somewhat limited. If you need a handicap space, theyre almost impossible to get. Exiting the river is extremely difficult. Things to know: the river can be crowded depending on time of day. If you travel with a group and want to stay together, lots of people connect their tubes by cords or clasps. Depending on the water level, it may be a very slow float. Areas are very shallow with large rocks. Wear shoes! Flip flops or slides will fall off. No plastic bottles, cans or glass allowed, put your drinks in a non-disposable cup or thermos. No ziploc bags either. Be warned that getting out is very hard, especially if youre older or not super fit. The exit area is very deep, definitely over your head. When you approach the exit, theres a large ledge type of thing with rocks, sort of like steps but not. Theyre extremely slick and algea covered. You have to hoist your tube up over those, then try to climb out. There are railings with ropes, you have to grab those and pull yourself up. This was extremely difficult and dangerous for my traveling companions, were all in our late 50s/60s and one has had a knee replacement. Then you have to carry your tube up 2 big flights of stairs to catch the shuttle back to your car.

Website notes parking is included, when we arrived we were directed to additional parking where we had to pay additional fee. Place was easy to locate, has to give license, and jumped on the river. Day was busy but great! Only other issue was friend left her license and had so much of an issue trying to get it back she just went through the State of Texas for another not ideal.

We float the river about once a year in the summer, and Texas Tubes is our go-to spot for tube rentals. The staff at Texas Tubes are consistently sweet, hardworking, and knowledgeable, making every visit pleasant and hassle-free. The parking situation is generally good, with a decent-sized lot available. However, it does fill up quickly, especially during peak times. Fortunately, they have an additional parking location once the main lot is full, which helps accommodate more guests. Texas Tubes offers a variety of tube options, both with and without a bottom, ensuring everyone can find something that suits their preferences. Access to the river is straightforward and convenient, and they have a private exit dedicated exclusively for Texas Tubes guests. This private exit makes it easy to exit the river, walk up the stairs, and wait for the shuttle. Shuttle service is efficient, with multiple shuttles running simultaneously, which keeps wait times short. The float itself is just over three hours, providing a perfect amount of time to relax and enjoy the river. Overall, we love Texas Tubes and highly recommend it for a fantastic tubing experience.

I am a water baby, I had so much fun while I was here. A few tips - 1. Make sure you have something to tie all your friends tubes together otherwise it s hard to stay together 2. You should start earliest slot that day, otherwise you know the Texas heat 3. Make sure to carry a water proof bag to store your valuables such as phones etc. 4. A plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, hydration, snack will come in handy 5. I would take a water gun next time :p One lore important thing- we didn t know the rides don t start until you pass first hour window, so if you want to skip the first part and get into the water just before the ride comes in you will feel less tired

This was an education in what tubing is all about in Texas. There are brief moments of thrills followed by long quiet stretches of relaxation. The water is cool and at places, deep. Be ready to spend three hours floating until you get to the end. Remember to take a break in some shade and reapply sunscreen after the first 70 minutes. Very relaxing times.

Hands down the best company in the area to float with. Better than any place on the Guadalupe or San marcos rivers. Private Texas Tubes only put in and pull out areas with the shortest walk to the buses. Transport is clean and fun with professional yet charismatic drivers who take care of tubes for you! Take it from a seasoned veteran of the local water ways, Texas Tubes is as good as it gets in the industry.

Long waits for tubes call first. Easier to bring your own tube. Overflow parking over priced, you pay to park and then pay for wristbands per person only to watch shuttle drivers let anyone aboard before and after floating. Paid $20 to park just to watch them waive the cars through behind us as they packed up due to the midafternoon slow down I guess. Disappointed to watch after going back to atm for cash. Then we paid $20 per person when we had our own tubes for 6 of us.

Love floating down this river! They really have everything covered - tube rental, parking, shuttle, inflation services, drink containers, etc. Our float took around 4 hours and the tube chutes were super fun! Just be careful, there are a lot of rules about what you can/cant have on the river when it comes to food and drink containers so make sure youre prepared, otherwise youll get stopped and possibly fined. I recommend going early and on a weekday to avoid crowds.

Tubes with a seat (picture a donut not hollowed out) or open (like a donut) are $25, they take your ID as collateral, you can also rent other things there such as coolers. You can also purchase a glasses bungee and the water proof phone case . The pick up process is easy and the driver has a great attitude. 10/10

We were in town to visit and did not know the restrictions of no cans, bottles, or zip lock bags on the river. We were told when we got there that we could not take any of it on the river. We had to buy containers that the place sold for $15 each, which probably cost $5 at the store. Nothing on their website mentioned the city ordinance of no cans, bottles, etc. on the river. Im very disappointed! The float was good.

It was a fun ride, for sure. Plenty of spots to chat with your friends. But rock ledge at the end, where you turn in tubes, is terrible and seems like a safety hazard as it is covered in algae. Two in my small group fell and was very close to an injury. If they could upgrade that spot out scrub the algae off, then it wouldve been a better experience.

Have been tubing through Texas Tubes a few times, and havent had any issues. Best time to go to get a good (free) parking spot is morning time, either right at opening or within 2 hours. They have everything you need, though I question the same $25 dollar charge for having your own tube vs. using one of theirs, which means its $25 for just the short 5 min bus ride back to the start point. Im sure it just keeps things easy, but still... Our most recent float was 4 hours, it was nice to relax and take in the scenery although I wish river patrol was out that day; people smoking cigarettes and playing music way louder than is stated in the rules. Im sure outside of a holiday its even more peaceful. Will continue to enjoy floating the Comal via Texas Tubes!

Had a fine time tubing today (6/13). Got there around 1:15 and managed to snag a close parking space. The lady at the desk was friendly - heads up they will keep your ID/license as collateral for the tubes. Apparently river levels are low and most of the float was very slow or at a standstill - be ready to do a lot of paddling, walking, or go slow the full 3-4 hours. We paddled a fair amount and it took us 1.5 hours. The chutes were very fun but the river is murky with lots of algae and debris, likely I won t return because of that but no fault of the rental place, I just prefer somewhere more out of town

One of the worst experiences we have ever had. Due to unforeseen weather, the river became extremely unsafe, and when we approached the employees and management, we were greeted with extreme rudeness and lack of any understanding. Instead of offering any type of refund or voucher, we were told that its just a bit of weather and it is not unsafe when the water was going over the side walls of the river. I will never be returning to Texas Tubes, and I will make sure to tell all of my friends and family to do the same.

Great experience! FYI It is the same price whether you bring your own tube or not since the ride is included back to where you started and parked. If you have a fancy tube or have one more comfortable with a neck rest, I would recommend you bring it! At times I wanted to rest my neck but really couldn t. Get the tube with the bottoms covering so you can have your items and Not easily loose items in the water. Bring your alcohol in a closed resealable and reusable container. Also, I would suggest bringing some type of rope to tie your partner with you if they are not very good swimmers or to simply stay together. I would suggest you take a protective bag for your phone, ID and card. Make sure to wear a hat/cap, sunblock, chapstick & take plenty of H2O to stay hydrated. Take rope to tie your sandals and anything else you ll be taking so when you go through the shoots you don t loose them. Remember to take a waterproof speaker and have a great time!!! I hope these tips help someone who is going for the first time so you re prepared unlike I was . And if you need a trusted title insurance when buying or selling your home or business? Lets connect!

Fun day trip for my boyfriend and me! We went on a Saturday in mid-May. High of 95, and the river was the perfect temperature. It was a gorgeous day. Little bit of a crowd but still a very enjoyable float. Our first float took right at 3 hours, so we paid $15 each to float a second time, which took right under 3 hours. Make sure to come prepared with non-disposable containers for water and/or alcohol and a cooler with a locking or zipping lid. We bought our own cooler floatie from Walmart which was a little cheaper than renting a cooler tube. We arrived around 10:45am and got the last parking spot in their lot, so recommend getting there early to utilize their free parking and park close. All staff was very friendly. River was gorgeous. Overall a super fun trip. We will be coming back!

Tubing experience was great. The guy who picked us up by bus at the end of our trip was wonderful and funny. Some of the young people at check-in were not friendly and seemed bothered to have to help. Overall great time.

So much fun!!! I ve been here three times and go every year I visit Texas. The people who work here are very nice. The river is clean and so relaxing to float down. About half of it is shaded by big trees but still wear good waterproof sunscreen. It can get slow in parts so you have to paddle a bit if you want to move, but the river is fairly shallow so you can get out of your tube in most areas. Bring a water bottle (reusable as no disposable plastic bottle are allowed) and something to tie it to your tube handle so you don t lose it. They will keep your car keys for you and you can pick them up when you return. The man-made rapids are especially fun and you can always walk back up the river and do them again. They recently did upgrades and have a newly paved parking lot and a new exit that is easier to use when getting out of the river. Finally, the bus driver Glen was an absolute delight and embodied Texas hospitality at its best please tip him (or whoever is driving) as they deserve it. Highly recommend!

Great place to put in to the river, $25 bucks to ride the bus all day if you have your own tube. One of the furthest places up the river you put in to the river, and if you get Bobs bus riding back youre in for a most excellent early 2000s sing along while you ride back to your car.

2 out of 5 tubes popped. We had to leave the trip and hour early. They refused to refund the popped tubes. After paying nearly $200, we only asked to refund the two popped tubes. I was informed by them that 25 tubes a week are popping and that they dont refund for popped tubes and accused of popping them on purpose despite having literally nothing to pop them with.

First time tubing. Came on Wednesday 1:20pm and there wasn t a line there so we check in pretty fast, but visitors keep arriving. Spent $50 for 2 tubes, and they help keeping car keys. Glad they have spacious restrooms can change clothes, though no shower place. We floated till 6:40pm and took the shuttle back to the parking lot. The shuttle trip was the best part of the day!!!! The driver is really awesome. Very interesting experience for summer. No ice cream or water shop during the float trip, y all gotta prepare enough water bottle. too hot summer

Great service and a wonderful float today. Saw lots of wildlife and the chutes were thrilling. The bus driver was also great and full of local advice! Parking is free and the shuttle is quick. Be forewarned, the tube chutes can be swift and you may tip. The river is pretty slow right now and you may have to paddle to get back in the flow. Getting out of the river takes a little upper body strength and the algae can be slippery. It is a river and has all kinds of wildlife (mammal, bird, fish, insect, mollusk, and reptile)! The water feels cool and there are 2 flights of stairs to get up to the shuttle. All of these things are inherent to river tubing and dont reflect on this great establishment!

Typically choose Landa Falls for our shuttle and tubing experience but this time we tried Texas Tubes. We were told shuttle pickup on 9/9/23 would begin at 1100 and runs every 15 minutes with 5 drivers by Sarah. We were finally picked up at 1215 and were charged full price for our very delayed service. Manager Lonnie told me that We are lucky to even be allowed on their shuttle and they can never guarantee when their shuttles run. Very dissatisfied and will NEVER float with Texas Tubes again.
