I thought a US $20 bill was legal tender for all debts public and private - by LAW. Nope. Not at Santikos. You have to put your $20 in a machine and convert it to Santikos Only money. They CHARGE $3.00 for that inconvenience. HA... that gets you your movie ticket but doesnt leave enough for even a drink. SCAM RIPOFF

Has anyone reported bed bugs?? I had 6 bites on my back and 5 on my legs and ankles after we watched Despicable Me in theater 9. All areas were touching the chair. I tried calling but the 877 number wasnt accepting calls. I need someone to reach out. The theater needs to be cleaned. People bring blankets from home and who knows what critters come in with them. We go to this theater a lot and I would hate for my favorite place to go down hill.

Love it! We went to go see twisters Saturday and it was nice and not to crowned, the prices are very reasonable and only 50$ for drinks snacks and tickets for 4 people the only thing is the restaurant could be more clean dust was on everything in there and it smelled like a cats litter box. The games are so fun but the bowling alley is pretty pricey but that s not their fault. Had a great time here definitely worth going on a week day!

Honestly this place was pretty gross. Went on a Friday and there were napkins and popcorn and stuff all over the floor, everywhere. The counter tops were sticky and gross. Was curious about a food item and when I asked the snack counter guy he didn t know and just kind of made it up as he went along and then just kind of shrugged. Ended up getting chicken tenders & fries to be safe and it was the most bland, tasteless food. It also smelled bad when we walked in. I don t normally leave reviews but this trip really grossed me out.

This is the worst experience of a theater I ve ever had! It would have been very informal if the women at the counter, would ve explain this was self serve for popcorns and drinks, then stated exactly, where to pick up food and how to get it! We missed the first 30 minutes of our movie standing around, looking clueless, like as if it wasn t obvious! Then I finally did get an answer, I was supposed to receive a code to pick up the food. A code in a txt, I never got! After 27, minutes another customer, told me it would be on the receipt! Walking back and forths with 3 kids, trying to find our way around, ruined the damn experience!

I came here July 2nd with my friends we enjoyed the games and the movie but the worst part was my food missing. I asked where my food was and they said someone picked it up . Which is strange because how can someone pick it up when I have the code? I asked how secure was they re pick-up system and they said it s secured, I asked if the cameras worked they said yes, I asked them to look at the footage they said we need corporate to do that so the cameras must not work, or they messed up and can t admit it. Every business should be able to check cameras no problem with ease. The manager did not speak to me only the kitchen manager who happened to come to an understanding and remake my order except I ordered bone-in and he gave me boneless with 4 extra. Both are the same price so not really sure why I couldn t get my bone-in wings. I never got an explanation on how the food could ve possibly even disappeared except there persistence of claiming someone picked it up and there was nothing no one can do about it. But they still made something to make up for it so idk how there wasn t nothing to do about it . The kitchen manager also said that I should have gotten a text message when it was ready which I was also expecting, I never got a text and when I told him I didn t I tried to show him and he said that didn t matter. This happened at 5:33pm - 6:15pm from order to finding out.

Updated just recently. Huge updates and upgrades to the whole place. Bowling, video games, and movies. They need to open more lines, during a busy day they had 2 people doing the checkouts. Also people, its not hard, order your popcorn, drinks and snacks, its not rocket science to have to choose what you want. I love Santikos and will always pick them if I can.

Movie experience was great. Very clean self serve for popcorn and drinks. Only problem was that our seats were TRIPLE BOOKED so we were there early, seated, and another couple came, and had proof of purchase of one of our seats, and then another group came after that and had proof of purchase of the same seats (and we all had proof of these tickets via emails) ...not sure how that happened?? If it was a fully packed theatre we would have definitely had problems

I like the fact that you can get unlimited popcorn refills and drink refills as many times as you want without the hassle of asking a worker! Went back today with my daughters. And they loved it too! They love the self serve station where you can get as much or little popcorn you want and the unlimited refills of Icee! I wish we had a Santikos in San Marcos, but we dont mind the drive to New Braunfels!

Dont often leave reviews but when its hot as heck turn the AC on. My wife and I watched two movies (one with friends) and both theaters were almost unbearably hot. Wish we would have just left instead of eating ice and fanning ourselves with my baseball cap to keep cool. Its a shame too since we have always preferred this Santikos, love the popcorn and drinks, to the other theaters around but not interested in paying to sit in the 9th circle of hell to watch a movie again.

I was told that leaving this review was the best way to get recognition for an employee by his/her superiors so, here it is.....I just want to say what an incredible experience I had at this movie theater today. I am new to this area and I have never been to this theater before. I Have worked in customer service my entire life and it always stands out to me when somebody is helping me not just because its their job but because they genuinely enjoy helping people. Right off the bat, Manny Pena was there to guide me through retrieving my tickets that I had purchased online for myself and my two young girls. We were looking at the menu options trying to figure out what to purchase on the kiosk when he informed us that we should not purchase items on the kiosk today because they were having a $5 special. That right there was just the first wonderful encounter. I had read about this special online before going to this theater and online, it said we could play for an hour in the arcade for free. On our way out of the theater, I saw Manny still standing there to assist people and I asked him if this was accurate and where the arcade was. He informed me then that the arcade was still being built in this particular location and he genuinely seemed disappointed to have to tell me this with my two little girls right there. He did apologize and I told him its okay, its my fault for not doing the proper research beforehand. He then told me to just stay where I was for a moment and he would be right back. He came back with three 30 minute arcade cards for the cibolo location. You can just tell when somebody really genuinely wants to help you and I absolutely saw that in him. I can only imagine that hes an amazing manager to work for. I would be shocked if that was not the case because his customer service skills are through the roof. I hope that he gets recognized the way that he should for this review. You never know what somebody is going through in their life and his kindness completely changed my entire day. He was wonderful. Thank you Manny. You do an amazing job and you really truly made my day.

Nice refurbish of the old theater. Nice food options. Update, January 2024. Not recommended now. Theyve closed down the bar, so no more beer. It was a good place to see a movie. Interesting that they give you a cup and then you fill it on your own. They also give you a tub for popcorn and a machine dispenses it to you (first batch was a little stale). The seats were ok but a bit hard and didnt seem to be level. Well likely go back if there is a movie there that isnt at the theater we usually go to. 1/16/24 - Visited again and they have revamped the lobby so its less cluttered. On Tuesdays, they now have a few food specials. It was very cold out and also a bit cool in the theater but not too bad.

We keep trying to give this place a chance, and everytime end up more disappointed than the time before. We used to come very often when it was Alamo Drafthouse. This place took a full kitchen and waiter setups, and made a much lousier, smaller menu with a pickup window. You walk out of your movie to go get your food. Last time we went, they had even closed the bar and we re not selling any alcoholic drinks at all. I got a water bottle, and they did not give it to me at the concession counter. Instead, they gave me a receipt and told me to pick up my $5 water bottle from the pickup window. I waited for 20 minutes at the pickup window for a water bottle, and missed the start of my movie. The people were behind glass, so I could not ask them for it. This movie theatre consistently finds the most annoying, inconvenient, and stupidest way to do something, and chooses that option every time. I could give countless other examples similar the the most recent one above.

Just skip the New Braunfels Santikos and head over to the Cibolo Santikos or the Schertz EVO theater. You will have a much better experience! This is the worst managed theater and worst in the Santikos fleet. Cant believe the kids drink is the same as the regular drink.... If I go to the Cibolo location, the kids drink is this size and New Braunfels large is the regular size. Concession sizes are not standardized and feels like inflation has decreased the sizes up cups at this location. Also, beware they charge extra for BBQ sauce for no apparent reason, even if you dont want or like ranch, ketchup, or honey mustard. Dipping sauce should be FREE if you already offer sauce with the chicken tenders. Not sure why the concessions stand sizes are not standardized between theaters.... Ill go to Cibolo and skip this location because I get a better bang for my buck and have a better movie experience at different Santikos or other competitor theaters in New Braunfels and Schertz.

Went to this location for the first time yesterday and it wasnt pleasant. We froze the entire movie as they dont have the heat on, in fact I felt cold drafts. It was pretty cold outside and myself and my childrens fingers/toes were numb. They had even brought small blankets. Was quite a miserable movie experience. Also, charging over $5 for a booking fee just to order tickets is absolutely uncalled for.

Great theater layout. The popcorn and drink machines in a great location. The customer service is pretty fast and friendly. It is an amazing theater to take the whole family and relax while enjoying a nice movie. The parking lot parking is also pretty good with restaurants and fitness gyms in the same parking lot.

They stopped accepting cash. This is ridiculous. The kids might think this is cool but they dont understand that merchant providers make up to 3 percent coming and going when using cards to pay. Im going to re edit my review, yesterday on Sept 30, 2023 we where barely on the credits for Paw Patrol and all of sudden we had to evacuate the building due to smoke or fire alarm. Luckily everyone was safe and got out on a safely manner. We were told that we only getting rain checks for the movie. Didnt even offer a refund for our food or tickets. We traveled from San Antonio, we put 40.00 of gas, wasted 100.00 on food and tickets and management only offer a rain check. My medical and special needs children had a melt down because the couldnt understand that we couldnt so their favorite movie PAW PATROL. I couldnt take them to another theater here san antonio because I wasted on my last to take them out. If I dont receive a response here within 24-48 hours I would be calling corporate to handle this matter.

First time here and most of this place seems really nice. The staff was very nice, the pop corn is self-serve (so I was uncertain but it is really good), the seats are clean and comfortable recliner seats. The theater was a tad cold but no big deal. Its in renovation... We came to see the Blue Beetle and lightning stroked and the entire building power outage went out... My boyfriend and I come here all the time and prefer it over creekside because it is nicer and newer, however we will stop coming here and start going back to creekside. My boyfriend who is Mexican American has been racially profiled by staff numerous times. I am a white female and they won t question me if I leave my movie go to the bathroom and try to go back to the theater but if my boyfriend tries to go to the bathroom first or if he is in front of me the girls giving ice out will stop us and ask for his ticket. It s happened numerous times and it really makes me angry. I understand if they are trying to stop people from illegally seeing movies but then they need to stop everyone. There were several white couples that walked past the girl giving ice today and she never once asked for any of their tickets.

We opted to visit the Santikos Theater in New Braunfels because the movie we wanted to see was only playing here. Seats are comfortable and sound was good, reclining seats and swivel tray tables. The tables are a bit high when sitting in the recliners even unreclaimed. The plus that pushed it over to a 5 star for me was the self serve popcorn and sodas, you can return and refill your popcorn and soda as many times as you want. Good parking and there are restaurants near the theater within walking distances. You can also order food and it will be delivered to your seat. (You may need to pay extra for the delivery)

Great theater with comfortable seats and a variety of show times. The recliners are a really nice feature, and they articulate in multiple directions. They have the cool soda machines where you can customize your flavors, which is still a novelty to me all these years after they first came out. The only downside is the hot food is not nearly as good as when the location was Alamo drafthouse. It s more like what you d expect out of a baseball concession stand. And for longtime locals can confirm, Santikos succeeded where other theaters have failed. The wet carpet/vomit smell is finally out of the building. They deserve 5 stars for that alone.

Price of tickets is good, but food is pricey. I ordered a pizza and nachos, the pizza was ok and nachos didnt have enough cheese. But I like that you can get your own drink and popcorn (you can refill).

I went here today with my family to watch the barbie movie, it was EXTREMELY hot in the theater room, my kids were uncomfortable and my mom was so annoyed and so I went and told them. After a few more minutes it was still insanely hot. So my sister and and asked about it and they told her they were working on it. We paid a lot of money to watch a movie and we told them twice about the heat and it NEVER got fixed. It was uncomfortably hot the whole time. So it was not a good experience. I guess I have to stick to Evo. Do better Santikos!!!

They did succeed in getting the strange smell out of this place! My biggest complaint is they dont accept cash (you have to get a gift card in a separate line). Theres a 2 drink max at the bar. The bar tender made a good drink! I also appreciated the added security they put in for the Barbenhiemer opening weekend.

This review may be biased because I m a Santikos fan through and through. This is a very nice place to watch movies- though not my favorite Santikos center because it is more limited to movies while others have bowling and games. The seats are all recliners, wheel chair friendly and the cup holders even keep your drink cool with a cold button!!

Went to see Barbie and Spiderverse here and the service and seats were top tier. They also had cooling cup holders, recliners, and food. It used to be a Alamo Drafthouse, so they still deliver to seat I think, just for a fee. If not, you pick up at a heated locker with a code they text you. The seats are high quality and food is always good. It s also self serve drinks and free refills.

This theater is absolutely terrible. If it isn t the broken recliners it s the nonstop buzzing from the cup holders that you cannot turn off. I ll be going to rewatch the film we went to see at EVO in shertz so that we can actually enjoy and watch it in comfort. If I could go back in time I d save myself the pain.

Place is okay moved down here to NB from down the road from San Marcos. This place deserves a 5 stars but won t get it. Non matter how much I don t like EVO San Marcos they still overshadow Santikos new Braunfels. Getting up every time when you need good or another drink. that s horrible the movie going experience is something the theaters should strive to make amazing. Food is okay drinks are great but the no cash policy and charging clients $3 every time to reload the card is crazy. I understand the no cash thing but when you put focus and love into your customers you will be unstoppable! You should be better Santikos new Braunfels

If I could give a -5, I would. What a horrible experience. My husband and I took our grandchildren to see Indiana Jones. My 2 year old asked me a question. I answered. Some guy next to me threatened my 70 year old husband and my grandchildren. Management treated us like criminals. I asked for my money back, and they refused. Im from some inner city areas in New York and LA. Never have I been treated so bad in a movie theater. Will not go back again.

The staff is great. I very much like the smaller format theaters. I choose these instead of the larger theaters whenever I can. Cleanliness has been an issue since opening. Last visit, neither the drink chiller nor recliner worked. I hope the expansion brings more upkeep to the facility.

The employees there are nice but everything else is very meh This building has a smell issue before Santikos came and the smell is somewhat gone, however the cleanliness of the building is very poor..The floors are spotted with large spills everywhere, the trash cans are always overflowing, the bathrooms are..honestly just wait till you get home lol Don t waste your time with getting there good, over priced and tasteless. Pretzel is hard as a rock and super nachos were mid, Definitely missed Alamo drafthouse food quality. I don t see how people prefer self serving popcorn w fake butter and self serving drinks, Popcorn was pretty stale. They serve your alcohol in plastic cups and your food in styrofoam? Not very eco friendly. Idk it attracts a certain crowd for sure lol I ve given this place a third chance but I feel like EVO at creekside is going to remain my go to.
