Great place to visit and learn about antique furniture and observe construction and renovation of 1800s buildings. The festivals and fairs and wonderful. They do accept furniture donations. Talk with Executive Director Justin Ball.

Looking for something to do on a Tuesday afternoon, we chanced upon this museum. It is interesting to get insights into the influence of German immigrants on the furniture trade in New Braunfels. Some of the craftsmanship was truly impressive. The facility is only open from 1-4 pm, so you will need to plan.

Heritage Village and the Museum were lovely and we were lucky enough to visit during the Folk Fest. Beautiful place. Knowledgeable, friendly folks. Terrific food and drinks. The museum itself is the gem, though. I look forward to going back and seeing it again.

All the buildings on the property were so cool, but what made it really special was Second Saturday put on by living historians. Ive been going to New Braunfels for over 40 years, always looking for new finds... Well definitely be back to this one! Visited on

The Museum of Homemade Furniture is a step back in time to the mid 19th Century Texas. The museum fills every room with handmade craftsmanship. Beds, cabinets, desks, etc. Are on display to see up close (just don t touch). Unfortunately pictures are not allowed inside the museum (not sure why). But trust me it s worth the $8. A much unexpected bonus are the various cottages and buildings on the grounds that show (sometimes demonstrate) skills and crafts of that time.

This is an awesome museum tucked away in the city. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping by for a tour. There are so much history here on such a beautiful campus that you do not want to miss us. If you think you are not interested in handmade furniture, guess again. There s so much regional history tied up in the story of this place. You ll love it!

this place was filled with so much rich history and neat furniture to look at. I feel like the name is a little misleading because the tour guides cater to what you are most interested in: either the furniture or history behind the 1st settlers of New Braunfels from Germany. Its an awesome place to go to if you are bored in town one weekend, and its a reasonable price for a tour! Paid $16 for my boyfriend and I and Leslie Dey (tour guide) is such a wonderful lady. I really enjoyed my sunday afternoon here!
