I wanted to check this out because of my German heritage. Tree is located in a really nice park and there is even a little train that runs through the area you can ride on. Its nice to see how long the tree has been here and the efforts taken to support parts of it to keep it healthy. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.

Pictures dont do this, over 300 year old tree, justice. This thing is massive. Lots of history, the whole area was really nice with Landa park and the German Pioneers monument.

What a beautiful 300 plus year old oak. Founders Oak is inspiring... its cool to see something last through so much history and to know that its been in that same spot the entire time. The area was clean and well kept. No river access here though.

Amazing piece of history in New Braunfels. The things this Oak has seen in its lifetime is difficult to fathom. Touching this giant and feeling its strength, knowledge and age is deeply moving.
