I recently had a fantastic dining experience at The Porch. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by host Alex, who set a friendly and inviting tone for the evening. The standout of the night was Erin, who not only served our table with impeccable timing but also showcased her skills as the bartender, crafting delicious cocktails that perfectly complemented our meal. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was top-notch, and the service was exceptional. If you re looking for a place with great vibes and even better people, The Porch is definitely worth a visit!

My wife and I spent Saturday evening having dinner with friends. We usually have dinner in uptown downtown Dallas or Bishop Arts area. Our friends chose the Porch. We were blown away by the dining experience, one of the best we ve had in years from the above and beyond seating to the attentive but never rushed service. The staff was authentic remarkable professional. Hats off to the extraordinary Front of the House Manager Amber Bain!

Where do I begin. I have been trying to get to this place for months. Something always comes up and needs to be rescheduled. My girlfriends and I were able to finally get here for brunch today. The food is very good. A good variety of things to choose from. Our waiter, ODarrien Lord, I hope I spelled and is saying his name right. He was such a great waiter and very accommodating. The ladies at the door were equally so pleasant, with a smiling face greeting the guest. The establishment was decorated beautifully and with very clean restrooms. I look at all of that when I am visiting restaurants for the 1st time. I am big on great personalities, customer service, cleaniness, and great food. I will pay my hard earn money for it. Will definitely circle back to The Porch!! Keep up the great work!!! Parking: The valet is free. Just give a great tip!

Love it the setting was so delightful and Caleb was such a wonderful and refreshing face to serve me and my friends while there. They were considerate allowed us to be indulge in lengthy girl talk for a very extended amount of time without raising a concern! We talked so lunch we got to see them switch from brunch to dinner I m embarrassed they should have and could have kicked us out. But they were so kind and even when our waiter became engaged in other job duties his team stepped in to assure we had what we needed to enjoy our time!! Then the Cherry on top was the food was great and well proportioned! The outdoor patio right in the side of the building made this visit even more a reason to mark this spot a favorite! It was a nice set up and an easy area that made way for more conversation and great pictures! We shall return for more and more and more of this place! 10 stars for sure!! Dietary restrictions: They had some health option and alternatives I spotted on the menu Kid-friendliness: The place welcomed kids and plenty of people had children and this did not cause a disturbance in the atmosphere Wheelchair accessibility: There was no road blocks that would keep one with a disability from being able to enjoy this place comfortably!

I was very pleased with all aspects of this restaurant. The hour in which we went to the restaurant played a significant role in the ambiance. What reservations for 4:00. My daughter reserved our table and was running a little behin, however our server was very accommodating. We were celebrating my 70th birthday and I could not have chosen a better location. To start, we shared the Spinach/Parmesan dip with Tortilla Chips and fresh lemon, which was excellant. My daughter and a good friend of mine had the Short Rib Stroganoff, they both sang praises about their meal. They said that the Short Rib meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork. I chose the Salmon Burger and I am so glad that I did. The Salmon was so fresh, and the Arugula, avocado, dill and dull aioli along with the wheat bun set the sandwich off. My side dish was their Tortilla soup, it was amazing. I was in heaven. To top it off, because it was my birthday, I was provide with a complimentary dessert, which was the Black & White brownie. It was amazing. Last but not least, our sever was amazing and very helpful. I would go back again to try some of their dishes and that says a lot, because I had started throwing my hat in the ring on eating out in restaurants, because of bad food, high prices and poor service.

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE! I am so sad to have to do this, because I have been here before and better. But I have to warn you all against even trying it. We had friends visiting, made a reservation and were promptly sat. After 25 minutes had to walk back to the hostess stand to check if our table had an assigned waiter. 10 minutes late Dustin showed up, took our appetizer and drink order. Dustin then forgot to enter the order. Then he proceeded to wait another 20 minutes to even ask for our lunch order. Peach Bellinis are blah... when we asked about the he said he would rush it... pretzel was cold inside...blah! Now after an hour we are starving and at least the food showed up, but the kitchen could not even prepare a club sandwiches without burning the bread... so bad that I had to do surgery to salvage what I could...I was not about to put this back on Dustins hand that had show no interest or care. So in summary, if you want sub par service, spend excess money for burned food this is the place for you!

The whole process was easy and clear; from making the reservation for our large party to dining and paying the bill. Our waitress was wonderful and kind and the restaurant was able to accommodate multiple large parties with ease. The menu is simple but executed well, with comfort food items everyone will enjoy. Theres something to be said for a restaurant that lasts in Dallas and continues to impress, visit after visit. Consistency is not a bad word in this instance. But its the specials board that rotates daily and surprises you in the best way. In a city where flash-in-the-pan seems to be a strategy for some restaurants, Ill stick to what has become a classic here on Henderson Ave. Kid-friendliness: Kids will love the grilled cheese or popcorn chicken! I was not impressed by The Porch. We came to brunch here and were surprised that there was no wait. The server and hostess were both very kind. I liked that the environment was very relaxed and I can see how it could be a good place to just hang out with friends. The food itself was not impressive. I tried their deviled eggs, which wasn t bad but was missing something. For our entrees, we got the hot chicken sandwich and chilaquiles. The chilaquiles sort of tasted like soggy chips covered in salsa. There was no dimension of flavor or textures. I was told the hot chicken sandwich was just okay. We did enjoy our drinks though. Our server was attentive and friendly. I m not sure I would come back for food.

Food was decent. The overall experience and vibe of the restaurant was off. Parking was strange, we got there and valet told us that if we didn t want to utilize valet then we had to park across the street for free parking. The lot across the street was definitely not free parking. Once we were sat at the restaurant our server told us that the parking at the restaurant is complimentary so we actually could park non-valet if we wanted to. My friend got up and then moved her car back into the main lot closer to the restaurant. However valet still had to take her keys since we were in the lot?? Anyways after we left the restaurant and headed towards the car, valet grabbed my friends keys and got the car. Which there really was no point for this restaurant to even have valet because it only pulled the car up which took only a second (mind you were standing right in the front of the car) we could ve gotten it ourselves. After that valet proceeded to say that my friend had to tip him tip him for a service that wasn t any work at all. I wish I had a picture of how close we were to the car and how close the parking lot is to the restaurant in general it was ridiculous. Valet here is not needed.

Update: went back for lunch on yesterday and we dined in this time and I had a totally different experience from the raving review below. First of all, they served the men first you would have thought it was Fathers Day weekend. The waitress was horrible, she didn t even acknowledge my daughter whom we were obviously celebrating and it was Mother s Day weekend as well, no acknowledgment there either. The chicken fried steak was different this time around, it was overcooked, hard tough piece of thin steak inside covered with hard overcooked thin breading, each time time I cut the tough steak the breading broke apart , it was obviously not battered like the one I had before. The brussel sprouts were practically burnt, there s a difference between crispy and just plaint burnt. We had to ask for refills and to go boxes for those that wanted to take this mess home. This was a devine meal. The chicken fried steak is one of the best I ve had. The meat to crust ratio was spot on. That gravy is out of this world. The mashed potatoes, mac & cheese w/smoked bacon was delish. I like my green beans to be a little more tender but the flavor was very good. I also enjoyed the gooey butter cake for dessert.

A nice restraint with a great atmosphere. The food is like your typical American food and everything is pretty good, but nothing outstanding. I ordered the salmon burger and upgraded the fries to be Mac and cheese instead. My friend ordered the chicken with a side of Brussels sprouts. The salmon burger was good, but it was a bit dry for me. The Mac and cheese was very saucy and on the thinner side. I prefer my Mac and cheese to be thicker, so I would recommend the Brussels sprouts instead.

I had chicken fried steak with mashed sweet potatoes. It was good (not great). I will have to try something else in the future. The wife had grilled salmon bowland loved it. She said the flavors came together great with a flavor explosion in her mouth! We also shared a basket of popcorn chicken with fries. If alcohol is your thing you will feel right at home here (not our thing). Our server (Caleb) was very polite, personable and professional.

Good food. My wife and i had excellent cheese burgers. Cocktails of a single Margaretta, a beer and a singe shot of tequila for $130....Good service but I felt very over priced. From brunch to lunch to dinner, you ll definitely enjoy a tasty meal at The Porch anytime you go! My spouse and I recently went on a lunch date and, while we experienced slower service, we overall enjoyed our experience. We ordered apps, main courses, and dessert. Everything tasted really good and was exquisitely prepared! I like that you can dress up or down to dine at The Porch. I consider it a great place for celebrations, corporate lunches, date day/night, drinks with friends, etc. Vegetarian options: They offer a limited vegetarian selection. I did not see vegetarian options clearly marked on the menu. They serve salads. Parking: There is a parking lot behind the restaurant. It s free to park there on weekdays (possibly during the day on weekends) but, it turns into a valet only lot for dinner. The neighboring parking lot costs $20 an hour. There is also street parking available.

They have changed their tomato soup recipe. It now lacks flavor and is watery. No more creamy tomato soup. They also changed their pimento cheese board. We used to go there specifically for these two items for special occasions. Unfortunately, we will not be going there anymore. It is sad when a restaurant changes up some of their best items. Sometimes change isn t always for the better.

Came for dinner on a random Sunday. There was no wait luckily and the food was amazing! We have the spinach parmesan dip and a salmon burger which we were going to share. They split it for us without us asking which was lovely. All in all we only spent $36 before tip which is extremely reasonable and was plenty of food. Service was excellent and it s very nice on the inside. Can t wait to go back!

Our waiter Adarrian was wonderful. Great table side manner and very helpful with suggestions. The restaurant is cool and nicely decorated. The drinks were great. The food was Chili s level quality at a very high price. Burger was meh. Short rib sliders were better but the buns were cold. The pimento cheese was the best thing other than the waiter.

Did this place get new ownership? The food used to be very good. I ordered steak frites cooked medium and it came out looking like an overcooked Salisbury steak from an elementary school cafeteria. My wife ordered salmon and it looked like the salmon was deep fried. For $100 I would highly recommend eating elsewhere. We barely ate the food and still paid full price. Our server was not very attentive either.

Froze was very refreshing. The restaurant was a little noisy for my taste but oh well. All in all I would recommend it. Food was good. I loved the portion size. It was not so big of snall it was just right. Vegetarian options: Salads

Food was good, Really enjoyed the Spinach Dip App. We all had the Chicken fried Steak the flavors were good, but the steak itself was missing the salt and pepper, gravy and breading was seasoned add some seasoning to the steak and man it would have been the perfect combo. Green beans and mashed potatoes were really good.

This was our first and last time to eat here. Grilled chicken was burnt, even after sending it back. Burger was burnt. The pics of menu items are not what is currently being served. Fries are not hand cut, but come out of a bag, as the manager admitted. Salads are from a bag and old/wilted.

Came on a Saturday for lunch valet parking is in the back and it is tip based. We made reservations but it was not needed place wasn t packed at all. Food overall was either very salty or sweet. I got the big dog which was on the big board and my friends got items on the menu. The fries were my favorite part of the meal. We spilt the mimosa bottle and you can add any juice they have we got orange and cranberry. Server was great and attentive! Atmosphere was great and the porch (alleyway) has games you can play while you wait or after. Overall the food was meh but service was awesome.

The menu was very limited The chili was very salty but the cornbread was good although it was an extra $7. The grilled cheese sandwich was mostly American cheese. The tacos were tasty. Decent waitress. Overall not a good meal; we won t be back. I m thinking they are going for a younger crowd who drink a lot.

Beautiful location and great service. Lemonade is true southern super sweet goodness. One glass and I just cut it aa I went. The Fish Tacos had me with mixed reviews. The fried cod was GREAT but bigger than the small street taco tortilla provided. The tortillas were not good. The dressing for the taco was good, but the slaw and I guess grilled jalapeño peppers were ok. I would have gone for something else if I had to do it over again. Great customer service!!!

Our check was originally $60ish-$70. Come to find out this morning my bank statement said we spent $99 dollars. Will not be coming back to this place. I am displeased.

Food took quite a bit to get to us, they did seemed extra busy though so maybe it was just that. Food was good, small portions but good. Had the French toast, I would very much recommend.. unfortunately the toast was a bit overcooked. I personally liked it that way, but my husband and mother in law were not a fan of how crunchy it was. My kiddos had a great time :] They did seem low on staff so giving them the benefit of the doubt, the service was amazing!

Its a nice atmosphere where you can sit outside, and the service is good, but the food is just okay. The portion sizes are fairly small, especially given their pricing, and the food quality and taste is okay, but not enough to justify the pricing. I think this is a good place to go for a snack or drinks to hang with friends, but not the best place for a real meal or dinner.

Fabulous service from Tye our adorable server, and other staff were nice and friendly as well . I don t mean to criticize as much as be helpful, but the fried chicken salad was not nearly as good as in the past and the oooey gooey butter cake is not at all the same. However tasty - it is more like a flan consistency rather than cake . Please go back to the old recipes and quality .
