I have ordered from Roost 3 times. All but this most recent time have been fine. The most recent order I had made, included the broccoli salad. I have had this salad each time I have ordered. When I ordered the broccoli salad this time, the salad was very much spoiled. I took a bite without realizing and it was gross, sour, then smelled the container and realized it was indeed bad. I know that happens sometimes and was not upset at all, my chicken salad was awesome as normal. What I was upset about was that I called to let the store know out of courtesy. I didn t want a refund, just didn t want others getting sick. I was told over the phone by the manager that it s suppose to smell like that. When you mix vegetables with other things it can happen . When I communicated that I tried it and explained the smell was very foul, she preceded to tell me that s just how it is, we made everything fresh last night. Our trucks delivered items this morning . I was met with a bit of attitude over the phone when my intention was purely to let them know so no one else received that same batch. It was frustrating to be met with excuses and attitude. Overall my experiences have been great up until now. It was very disheartening to receive customer service like this. It was clear that the situation was not taken seriously and would not be handled as it should to ensure customer safety .

The service at the desk is polite and patient. The food is delicious!! The croissant sandwich is super good, such a flaky croissant with well cooked eggs. The brisket omelette i ordered was confusing though; the brisket was not chopped or shredded it was sliced which makes it very awkward to eat or much on. I defintely recommend the cooks decide on chopping it next time. Finally, the pico de gallo cant really be called pico if it aint got no cilantro, i mean, cmon, yall. The potatoes were cooked well and not tacky, but a nice fry. GREAT SOURDOUGH, from someone who doesnt really like sourdough lol. However, if you want a nice chill breakfast or lunch? This place might not be it, because it is very loud and the people who come here are too. The machines could not be louder and because of the tight wooden furniture, which I dont recommend if youre tall, is very echo-y and amplifies the sounds.

Had breakfast pancakes and eggs. The seasoned potatoes were excellent and the eggs were delicious. The pancakes were very good but they were a little dry on the edges but I still ate most. Lots of good food for the price.

We ve been here multiple times thinking we really want to support a local place, but this is the last time. There is always something negative along with the terrible, awful customer service: it s super loud, they are always out of something we want to order, they don t bus or clean the tables when people don t do their own, there are lots of flies and the floor is filthy, and/or our orders are always wrong. We tried 4-5 times but won t be back and can t recommend to anyone else.

The food is usually good but today it was mediocre. The customer service gets worse every time we visit. We weren t acknowledged for quite some time when we walked in, several employees walked right past us at the counter. When she final took our order (girl with the pink stripe in her hair) she was very rude. She was speaking in a low tone and we couldn t understand her then she got snappy with us because we couldn t make out what she said. Plus she messed up half our order. Your competitor, CSC, up the road has much better customer service and will be our go to from now on.

I had originally given this place 5 stars. Had only ever had to go orders in the past and all was good. I dined in this time. I received floppy undercooked bacon. I asked to have it cooked more. It came out cooked more but still floppy. I again asked for crispy bacon. 10 minutes later. NO bacon. I guess I stumped the chef on this incredibly simple order. Finally the bacon arrived. Of course by now I have finished the rest of my breakfast. The bacon they brought out looked, for lack of a better word, ODD. I was told they bake their bacon and then grill it. Which was clearly a lie because I was shown 3 different bacons and they were CLEARLY cooked differently. I was given a 20% off my next order. However, I will never return to this restaurant. You lost a local regular customer today simply because you couldnt be honest about bacon. Also ...learn how to cook bacon.

Went to eat lunch, ordered tomato soup and a grilled cheese with a tea. Tea tasted awful, old. Table was sticky and asked someone if they could wipe it and instead of just wiping the whole table they asked us to point out the spots that were sticky. Brought our food, cheeses on the inside of my sandwich was burnt. When I asked about my soup as the waitress was walking away she told me they were out. I said, well what other soup is getting substituted since I already paid for soup and she goes we have potato. No apology for being out of the other soup and it was like I wasn t getting a substitute unless I asked for it even thought I had already paid for it. I explained to her that I wouldn t have ordered the grilled cheese had I known they were out of soup. Never offered to make something else or replace the soup. My husband ended up ordering and paying for me another sandwich, a Reuben and it had so much gristle in the meat you couldn t bite through it. Horrible experience and horrible customer service.

Went to Roost the other day on a recommendation and have been thinking about it ever since. I got the Madilyns Chicken Salad on Sourdough and almost died from how good it was. The bread was griddled in butter- perfectly crispy and uniform. The chicken salad was amazing too-the earthiness of the macadamia was complimented so nicely with a pop of sweetness from the pineapple. I graciously offered a bite to my grandfather and fiancé and they both really liked it as well. The staff was amazing too. Im gonna get their names wrong but I think it was Brooklyn and Kindal? Great personalities and they helped me pay for lunch when my grandpa tried to box me out at the register. Not happenin grandpa! Jokes aside- I was not expecting such high quality food in the middle of my day. Totally pulled me out of autopilot for a second. One of the best meals Ive ever had and will happily go back next time Im in town.

When I first imagined this place I envisioned a warm inviting place with various servings of unique chicken salads. Could not be farther from reality. Expect to sit yourself (on metal chairs or plywood booths) and counter order your meal. We had a few breakfast items that were decent in price. All drinks from bottle or fountain with no fresh options. This is either a front or the owners simply do not recognize the value of quality hospitality. Do not recommend.

Visited Roost for the second time today, first visit was earlier this week. We ate at the restaurant and food was good, a little overpriced but generous portions. Lots of dirty tables, no place to sit but plenty of employees that could have been cleaning off tables. One of two orders was wrong but they willingly made it right. Todays visit was 1 star at best. The minute I walked through the door three employees bombarded me with questions, was I with DoorDash had I visited before, etc. Placed my to-go order for two meals, one meal (Pimento Cheese) was the specific reason I visited Roost. Ten minutes after ordering I was told they were out of pimento cheese. Was totally surprised as it was only a little after noon. A gentleman came from the back, guessing he is the mgr and he explained the date expired yesterday so he had to toss the pimento cheese. Since that was the one meal I specifically came for I stated I just wanted a refund and would go get lunch elsewhere. I asked about waiting for the new batch which has been started but he said it would be at least an hour. It quickly turned into a high pressure situation with a couple of employees asking if there was something I wanted to try. Although I said I really didnt want anything else I felt pressured to order something else. When I realized I hadnt been given the 10% discount on my second visit like the screen said during our first visit, the gal said she would look into it. She said typically we give it to you on the first visit but I explained they did not. She continued to look at my account as she clearly didnt believe me and then just walked away never taking care of it. I had to ask the mgr if he was going to adjust my bill for the cost of the sandwich that I had chosen as it was less expensive than the pimento cheese, I then asked him about the 10% and said the gal was supposed to be taking cares of it. He had quite a bit of trouble adjusting the bill to apply a 10% discount so then said he had given me one sandwich free and the 10% discount but after he printed off no kidding like 6-8 (or more!!) receipts with only the 10% discount I said never mind. His response ok. While waiting on my food, next group started opening the door and same greeting of way too many hello welcome comments. One employee even commented to another, they arent even in the door yet! Food was good today except strawberry and grape salad looked a day or two old at best. Strawberries were soggy and dip fruit was in was gross and runny! As I said to the mgr we know Chicken Salad Chick is coming to town and was hoping to support both places but now after this experience, I think my loyalty will be with CSC see we have eaten at many locations across many states and never had an experience like todays or even a bad experience for that matter!

Unbelievably bad service. I ordered a family meal online at noon for a 4:30 pick up. I received a confirmation that my order had been received and would be ready as requested. As I was pulling into the parking lot at 4:25, I received a text that my order was ready and then a phone call about 5 seconds later from an employee telling me they ran out of the food I had ordered earlier in the day. This was a meal train dinner for a friend who d just come home from the hospital so I had to order pizza last minute for her and her family. I don t know how the food is but I won t be back to find out.

I have eaten food from Roost 3 times. Two times were about a year ago, and then today. I will say, the first two times everything was average. However, I am writing a review today because the food was AMAZING! I got the cheddar, bacon, and ranch chicken salad, and the buffalo chicken salad, and both were home run delicious! I got a sandwich, with a scoop on the side, and the portions were very generous. The bread was toasted to perfection, and everything was so delicious. I also got the pasta salad as a side and I wanted to lick the container it came it. 10/10, will be looking forward to returning!

Full menu all day. Several types of chicken salad. Honey walnut chicken salad is a little on the too-sweet side for me but might be perfect for someone else. Really enjoyed the southern style chicken salad and the broccoli salad. Very simple but savory. The single scoop is a generous portion. The ladies here are always friendly and theyre doing the most to accommodate the customers while the business next door is doing renovations. People say its pricey but youd pay the same amount to eat a large #1 at Whataburger and that food is junk.

I feel like it was all Sysco food and just to make money for the investor pool that funded the surrounding apartment complex and other restaurants. Maybe that s a bit harsh, but honestly how I felt. This was our first time here! And if we lived in the state we would be going back. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very nice and helpful lady. The food was delicious, and the place was clean and very cute. I had the Jalapeno Bacon Grilled Cheese (wow). A lot of food for the price. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Worth every penny. When I saw the menu online, I thought the pricing seemed high. Im here to tell you, the portions are large! And that Nutella banana French toast was as good as it looks! I love that theres a drive-thru, but there was plenty of seating inside and on the patio if youre not in a rush.

A hidden gem in New Braunfels! Absolutely amazing service, and incredible food! We had breakfast, and for the low price I expected small portions. Not only were the pancakes HUGE, my husbands omelet must have taken a dozen eggs to make! I am not one to waste food, but there was no way I could have finished all of it! We have found our go to little breakfast spot. Can t wait to try lunch!

The family visited for breakfast - at 1130a- which was great because they serve breakfast all day. And thank goodness! It was yummy! I ordered the French toast with a side of Nutella (although they have an order with Nutella + French toast and bananas). My husband ordered milk chocolate pancakes (I stole most of his pancakes) and the kiddo ordered regular pancakes. She surprisingly at it all and she s a picky eater so that s saying something! Would highly recommend. We ll be back!

I called to check their allergens. The woman on the phone was exceptionally rude. Barely knew the answer as to whether they use nuts. Then when I asked if there was cross contamination, she gave me a condescending answer that I shouldn t eat anywhere with nuts which most restaurants take cares to prevent cross contamination as to allow all customers the ability to enjoy their services. This is not one of them, they are obviously not cautious nor caring about their customers. Anyone with any food sensitivity or allergy beware.

One of the best most tasteful chicken salad places I have ever been to. I love the sandwiches and their breakfasts. Always delightful and welcoming. Their breakfast is really good. Ive come here twice now and I have not been disappointed! The Rooster sandwich I had was amazing! It had a combination of meats with sauce, fried egg, avacado and the bun wasnt super thick I like that it allowed me to really taste the sandwich which had great flavor. I also like that their sides are super fresh and tasty just like the sandwich!

My fiancé and I were so excited to try this place, and we ended up having to go inside because I couldn t read the menu to order in the drive-through. As soon as we walked in, we were slapped in the face with a horrible odor of raw sewage, and it felt like the AC was at 80°. After we left, we looked up reviews and it looks like the smell has been there for about a week and the AC has not been working for quite some time. We ended not ordering and walking out the smell was so bad.

Portions are huge. My boyfriend and I are able to share a combo. Food is tasty and comes out quick, clean restaurant but it did have a weird smell of eggs when we were in there. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Employee who took our order was either extremely shy or just had terrible customer service. The employee who brought out our food was rude and snapped at me when I asked for an extra set of silverware so we could share our breakfast. I really want to like this place but the customer service was a huge turn off.

It was our first time to ever eat here we expected something good and instead got cheap food and wrong orders. I ordered a breakfast burrito which isn t a burrito at all it s a smaller than usual taco and I got the bacon egg and cheese one and it was missing the bacon. My boyfriend got the breakfast BLT and asked for avocado spread and they didn t put any avocado. They charged us for the avocado. It was the worst food I ve ever had. We will never be back.

Posting for owner as well as potential customer visibility: Been a regular for breakfast since shortly after they opened. They had consistently great food and service, until they didn t. What happened? We always order online and go pick up during the time frame quoted. The last visit, all of the pancakes were burnt and tasted terrible. Wrote that off as a one-off and went back today. Quoted an additional 30-minute wait at the window, we waited the 30 mins and were told to move up. So of course we went inside to find out what was going on and were told the grill was full with breakfast and it would be another 15 mins. Hardly anyone was inside eating, and no one else waiting in to-go. After another 20 mins, someone finally came out with the food and said, sorry about that wait. We had a couple of unforeseen events. And that was it. What the heck? They already had our money (plus tip! We always tip) from ordering online, but we would have asked to cancel if we had known we would drive there to wait an hour. If we decide to give this place another shot, it will be way in the future.

It was 9:30 on Sunday morning so we expected a wait. They took our order and said they were a little behind and it would be 30 minutes. After 45 minutes, me checked and they said another 15 minutes. This place is delicious! We had a special birthday lunch for my sister and it was so good. Fast, healthy comfort food. I got the roasted jalepeno chicken salad on thick country bread with a yummy strawberry grape yogurt salad on the side. Well here is an update..... today we did indeed give it a second chance and was devastated when we received the same result. Service still appears to lack employees who are service minded. Very rude, and an overall lack of beneficence. On top of that, our food was to be ready by 12:05, we arrived and didnt get our food till 12:45. Now we were willing to wait, but our food was cold when we picked it up as if it was just sitting there waiting. In fact, we know that is the case because we had a grilled cheese sandwich and the cheese was already hard and had an outer crust to it. When asked about what happened, we were addressed rather shortly with a lack of sympathy. I would ask you all to please be better, but being that my second chance was as bad as the first, I dont think that is quite possible.

I have tried to order lunch from here on two separate occasions. Both times I ordered a sandwich, chips, fruit and a drink. Both times my order was delivered with my name on a completely different order - just a single different type of sandwich. This is not a Doordash issue as the ticket from the restaurant is placed on the completely wrong order. I thought I would give them a second chance today but was really disappointed that the same thing happened again. If your restaurant cant accurately fill to-go orders, which is a must for a lunch or deli-type establishment, maybe it shouldnt even be available to place a delivery order. I tried calling the restaurant both times and no one ever picked up the phone. In the end, I have spent $50 on Roost and have never gotten to eat a bite of what I ordered.
