Buttermilk Cafe is always a good choice. Great breakfast or brunch-time offerings. I had the corned beef hash, and while it was a smaller portion, it was good! A friend had the granola with fruit and yogurt, and it was plated and presented beautifully. Important to note they will not seat you until your whole party has arrived.

We took my Mother here for her 91st birthday lunch, as its one of my parents favorite places. Always such a great experience! The food is delicious, especially those fried green tomatoes and the gigantic onion rings, but thats not the only thing that keeps us coming back. This place truly goes out of its way to make customers feel like family. Our server took the time to talk and joke with us, one of the owners stopped by to greet my dad, we were asked if we enjoyed our meal - all these things add up to Hospitality with a capital H. We will certainly be back soon!

I am homeless. I live with some friends who are going through hard times too. The owner heard about their situation and offered a meal for their whole family, time of their choosing. 4 kids 2 adults and some other guy(thats me). They provided a great meal, didnt look for publicity or anything like that. Their macaroni and cheese was as good as I have had at upscale steakhouses. They did it just to be kind. I dont think there is a better place in town you could spend your money or time at. Thank you and God bless you many times pressed down and flowing over!

Fantastic breakfast! Theres a reason theres always a wait...take my advice and do the waiting...its so worth it. Everything except the potatoes were seasoned perfectly and very well cooked. The staff is friendly, even with the large crowd. As it was a Saturday morning, the crowd was thick and food.qas coming out slowly but it was worth it in the end. Will enjoy visiting and eating again very soon. Btw, the complimentary cake is to die for and such a nice teaser for the main menu.. Bravo!

Very rude man at the check in booth. We were told that this is a great place to go for breakfast. We drove out of a Hurricane in Seabrook. TX. When I approached the desk, I had my husband on the phone as he wanted to know how long the wait would be. I asked how long is the wait and he said Ill tell you when you get off of the phone. I was on the phone to tell my husband and son, waiting outside how long it would be to get a table. The guy was very rude. The young lady standing next to him answered my question. It was a 35 minute wait and if he wasnt so rude we would have waited, but chose to take our business elsewhere.

This place was a major disappointment. The service is fast, the atmosphere is nice but the food was bland to say the least. I ordered the migas, and it had no salt or seasoning once so ever. My husband ordered the cornedbeef hash, and it should be renamed to corned beef mush. Not crispy, just plain mushy. Its not worth waiting in line to eat at this place. Just bland food and your waitress may or may not be nice to you :( I will say they have warm muffins, and they are tasty.

Average diner food, extremely over priced. Service is average,, the hostess was dry and not very welcoming. I expected so much more considering the reviews. $15 dollars for basic French toast(literally one slice if bread cut in half), dry biscuits, and unseasoned hash browns that youd think were counted before they got served. Only thing that kept us from leaving 5 stars was the hosts and cleanliness. Older gentleman running the host stand was not friendly. Quoted us 40 min wait time but we only waited about 10 minutes. The young blonde girl in the hoodie looked annoyed the whole time. The other young lady just looked like she was trying to stay out of the way. Our waiter Jonathan was phenomenal. This was the second time weve eaten at this restaurant, and we are always satisfied, hands down! The wait was not long. They move pretty fast with food and service. We did build your own omelets, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. The biscuits are a must-have! The omelets were filling and tasty. The red skin potatoes were cooked great. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Our server, Jennifer C, was friendly, polite, and attentive. They atmosphere was warm and inviting. They place was very clean. My family and I decided to go here randomly because we wanted to sit down and eat somewhere we haven t before. Host was a super nice man, I could tell he was very busy but was still friendly with us. Our server was also really sweet and accommodated us well. The food was absolutely fantastic. My husband says it s the best chef salad that he s ever had, and my food was very delicious too. I got the french toast breakfast and the serving sizes were perfect. The owners came over and chatted with us for a little bit and was playing around with our toddler who loved all the attention. Everyone was all around super nice, so lovely and made us all feel really comfortable! Already recommending this place to family and friends, will 100% come eat here again!

Breakfast with our party of 8 was accommodated perfectly. Shout out to Rebekah--friendly and super attentive. We were pleasantly surprised to find Saturday morning is complimentary coffee cake day, and it was delicious! Portions were generous and those who had the Chicken Fried Steak LOVED it!

A great place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. It is a very popular place, so there is always a crowd. Getting out of San Antonio is even more difficult due to construction on 35, so I don t get there as often as I would like.

The fod here is excellent! My son and I had omelets with everything in them . The waitress was always around to fill a cup of coffee or for anything we needed. They even helped an old crippled lady and her son by holding the door open coming and going. You have to go there. It was on Wed the 13 of March. Great service you all!!!! Will go back for sure!

While many others have had a good experience here, but we did not. After a hostile greeting because of my wife s service dog, we were seated in the corner of the backroom with a few families with young children. I think this was because of the service dog as we were marched past many empty tables and booths. Our server was as courteous and professional as they come. The food arrived at a reasonable interval, so no fault to the kitchen there. Our meals were bland, unseasoned, and comparable to hospital food. While the menu described the meals as having three eggs, there were only two yolks, so probably light one egg. That s fine, as the third would have gone to waste, but please don t advertise and charge for three eggs and deliver two. The cafe is nice and clean enough. Buttermilk s appeal is clear. It has hot, serviceable food and a fantastic wait staff. We won t be returning. The hostile greeting makes us believe this will be a great relief. I hope Buttermilk s many satisfied patrons continue to have a good experience.

Had a late breakfast of pancakes, sausage , eggs and potatoes. Even though the place was packed, I seated within 20 min. Food was hot fresh and server was attentive. Loved their coffee. Pancakes were large and fluffly very tasty. Eggs were perfectly cooked. Potatoes were great, only thing is I wish they had salsa. Loved it will come back.

If you re looking for good traditional southern and German cooking, this is your place. My husband and I both eat pretty differently in that I avoid carbs more than he does and it s always nice when a menu is diverse enough for us to both find something we ll enjoy eating. Buttermilk Cafe definitely has that kind of menu. They have really tasty meals from breakfast to dinner. Would definitely visit again.

Great place with great food. They had the best black coffee I have tried so far in Texas, and I don t know exactly where they got their strawberries, but they tasted amazing, better than any strawberries I have tasted in The USA.
