Loved this park! All of the foot trails were super easy. The parking is very small next to where most of the foot trails begin (maybe 4 cars max). They do have restrooms and a spot for RVs. If you go to the cave make sure to not touch the brown patches on the ceiling, those are spiders. Playground: Super cute little playground! Toilets: Very clean, with running water.

Mature trees majestically lined the footpath, allowing me to see the sights while protected from the suns harmful rays. Besides the parks key sights, I got to take in the beauty of a white tail deer within 20 feet, and a yellow swallowtail seemingly guided me along the walk with a number of birds. That was the best use of my time... It was a great opportunity to recharge. You could also stay longer if you want a camp site, they are superbly maintained. I highly recommend this as a must see.

Lol The park doesnt really offer any big attractions, but the shaded hiking trail offers a nice little hike in the shade on a hot day was at least 10 to 20 degrees cooler on the hiking trail. The cave area was a cool stop as well. Toilets: Nice, new, clean, hot water

This was our first time visiting Mother Neff SP. Although it is small, only about 20 sites, it is very well maintained. Many sites are in full sun and having a portable canopy is helpful. We especially enjoyed having full hook up which seems to be harder to find post covid. The RV pad and ground were especially level making setting up camper steps easy and safer than most other parks weve seen. They even raked the ground making the site look manicured. Well definitely plan to return.

I stopped in on the spur of the moment when I saw the signs indicating that Mother Neff SP was close by. Since I hadn t planned on the stop, I asked the woman ranger at check in for recommendations on hiking. She was so incredibly helpful! Based on her recommendation I hiked the Cave, Wash Pond and Tower trails for about 1.7 miles. It was 2:00 on a hot June Texas afternoon but with all the shade the heat wasn t too bad. The trail was nice and easy to follow with the only part that got a little confusing was around the Wash Pond. The visitor center appears brand new and very nice. Too bad they were out of magnets. Overall I was really glad I made an impromptu stop.

It is very quiet and has a few short trails throughout the park for hiking as well as a playground. It is 30 minutes to Waco, for visiting Waco Mammoth National Monument and other city sites.

Such a fun hike! I would consider it an intermediate trail. It was not exactly easy. The trail had lots of things to trip on (mostly rocks and roots). Hills and tons of stairs. If there is any rain or mud, Im sure the trails are closed. If they do not close them, then I would not hike these trails. Super clean area. I will definitely be back! I parked at the cave and walked up to the old pool/wash pond and back...it was the perfect loop! Do not skip Bluff Trail! I have pointed out in the pictures attached the Bluff Trail that I thought was the prettiest of all the trails. Enjoy!!

A small park a short detour from I-35. Mother Neff is well developed, reflecting its stature as Texas first state park. The park is very small; it claims six acres but a significant portion appears to have been closed for multiple years due to flood damage. Its possible to hike all the trails in the park within a few hours. The park does not seem busy, but its likely that reservations are necessary to secure a campground space. Notably, the campground is well served. Mother Neff is a nice park but perhaps not worth a special trip. However, if youre in the area, its a pleasant diversion; a day pass is $2. Itd be good to see the flooded area re-opened.

Gem of a park. Beautiful trails and not crowded at all. Seems like a place you want to take a bicycle do some riding around the loop.

Id heard a lot of good things about the State Park and when I got there I could see why, very nice. The only thing they need to do is open the rest of the Park.

The first Texas State Park! It s a small park but each site is very private and immaculately kept. Granite racked every time. Nice hiking trails. Waco nearby. Put MN on your list to visit.
