Its absolutely amazing every time it gets even better, and we dont understandhow thats even possible. Reservations were perfect. Our favorite space upstairs. Lovely service, delicious foods, and drinks. Save room for dessert. Its way too great to skip. We look forward to making this more often. What a quaint little place to dine after a long day on the lake. Staff are welcoming and always filling your glass with your selected beverage. Great wine selection along with wonderful made to order food makes this place a very tasty place! It s great for an intimate evening or a night out with friends. Highly reccomemd their steak!

Went to have lunch here today during a slower time and just a heads up to others apparently this place is not kid friendly . We were not greeted nicely upon walking in with our 18 month old, and was told they had no high chairs and don t do kids . Always an exquisite dining experience. We bring all of our guests here because we know it will be a consistently pleasant experience. Mushroom bisque is my favorite. Pear and blue cheese crostini is amazing. Everything is absolute perfection.

We arrived 10 mins before the kitchen closed, but were seated and had a delicious meal. Friendly and excellent service. The atmosphere was indeed cozy, and we will be back and will arrive earlier so we can enjoy this little gem a bit longer next time.

I have to say that I avoided this place because of the reviews saying people were asked to leave for being loud! There is a sign that asks people to keep their voices down so that clients may enjoy a cozy experience at the Cozy Grape. There were only four tables occupied and I have to say that the dining room is just loud! It s small and full of hard surfaces so it s going to be loud. I ve gone a couple of times and sat outside and that was very pleasant. The service was very good and the food was good! They have a nice wine selection and some cheese plates that go nicely with the wines. I will continue to go and sit outside until it gets too hot. They do have ceiling fans outside. Danielle was our waitress on one of my visits and she was sooo fun!

As much as I love this place, and the food is outstanding, I m sad to report a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Minimum fine $55,000. I arrived to eat with FOUR PAGES of documents, (including a physicians letter) which I offered to show the owner, that my dog IS a licensed and certified Psychiatric Service Animal, and has the same status as any other type of service animal be it Cardiac, Diabetic, or Seeing Eye Dog! This is very different than an Emotional Support Animal. While I understand that many people are slapping service animal vests onto their dogs to get them into restaurants, that is not the case here. I offered to email the file with all documents to the owner and he instead relegated us to an outdoor table on a cold and rainy day, which we weren t appropriately prepared for in terms of dress. I will be contacting my attorney to prevent others from having their rights violated. I ve attached the documents here. Please learn from this and think twice about marching people outside just because you re too distracted or distrustful to review the documents to make an informed decision.

Generally, we love to eat at places like this but we were so disappointed. The prior reviews did not match our experience. The specials looked good. The food was ok. Short ribs tasted like pot roast. We each ordered a dinner drink but somehow a flight of red wine was too complex because the bar was chaos. The restaurant was less than half full. To make amends, they brought a piece of cheesecake. To add insult to injury, it took an excruciatingly long time to handle our check. Our server explained it was because they were having a meeting. In the middle of dinner service? Really? Wont return and will tell others not to either.

Food was good. I ordered a flight of wine and wasnt told until I asked that it wasnt going to be possible, because the bar was chaos. Just a glass would have been great. They did acknowledge the mistake and brought a piece of cheesecake for dessert, but we were seated below a camera, so they may have seen me start to post review. We would be willing to try again sometime, but will make sure to make a reservation for a time that is not so busy.

WOW! Stopped in to get some dinner and had to leave. We ordered the Kielbasa quesadillas after asking the waiter and him not knowing anything being new so we went with a random choice. They came out and looked barely cooked with cut up sausage and cheese inside. I was very surprised because it doesn t seem to be up to the standards of a wine bar. We mentioned that we did not like them and the waiter took them away. A manager or owner said that everyone loves them and that we would be charged for them regardless. I told her I would like to take the food home if I have to pay for it and they finally told me they weren t charging me for it. Very poor management.

We came in on Saturday a party of 5. My grandson ordered a salad and requested no black beans and when it arrived it was full of black beans. When the waitress sat it down it was brought to her attention but she was no help. She would not take the salad off our bill she offered to remake it but we would be charged for 2 salads. They were no help because they sided with the waitress. We will not be back.

Cozy Grape: Extremely rude owner. I have eaten here many times with two different tennis teams over the past three years, I have eaten here with friends for lunch & for dinner. with my husband for lunch & for dinner. When I originally looked them up on Nextdoor, there were mixed reviews about being treated rudely by one of the owners. I have seen large parties here before in the evening and for lunch and have never seen anybody be asked to leave Until today I had never experienced it. There were 10 of us, we ordered drinks we ordered food, and then we were asked to be quiet, which was only heard by one person at the table. None of us had a clue what was going on and more than half the table was drinking tea and Coke the rest of the table with alcoholic beverages never even finished their drink, so that was not the issue. We were celebrating and enjoying each other s company like we always do. Next thing we knew we were being told our order was being canceled. We had to pay for our drinks and leave. I do not believe I need to pay for some thing that I did not get to consume because I was asked to leave. I have been playing tennis and going to lunch with my teams for 30 years from Katy to Houston from the Woodlands to Conroe. Dining at Federal Grill, to dining at Republic Grill. We routinely dine in the Walden area, and again I have never been asked to leave a restaurant before before . I can truthfully say this will be the last time I ever visited Cozy grape as well. I have dined here many times and seen large parties in the evening, our tennis teams have had end of season parties. Here, I have seen birthday celebrations, etc. I have never seen anyone asked to leave. They definitely need to learn over there how to treat your customers as they are in the service industry.

4th time I went there was for Saturday brunch w a group. Previous meals were decent. High $$ omelet was so oversalted it was close to inedible. But I was hungry. Dude next to me complained and he is a Texan who loves salt. Lady on the other side only ate 1/4 of hers. Beautiful presentation but that does not help if food is inedible. We went on a Friday around 1 and it wasnt very busy when we arrived, but picked up later. I say this because it took a while for anyone to serve us after we were seated when there were only a few tables. The service started off a bit rocky as it was slow with drinks and getting our orders initially. Later the server was more on point so that redeemed my rating a bit. The Manhattans were good. I ordered the goat cheese pizza, and it wasnt very good. The naan was dry and a bit weird in texture, and I love naan. The only thing that helped it was the Storypoint Cab I ordered with it, which paired very well. I also got the mushroom soup, and that was absolutely Delicious!! I could have eaten just a big bowl of that paired with the wine and been very happy. My husband and son got the burgers, which tasted good but were a bit dry. The atmosphere is... Interesting. The ambience is nice, upscale and pretty. They have a sign up that basically discourages small children, and I get that, because they are clearly trying to establish a peaceful, upscale atmosphere. But after reading another review that led to the placement of that sign, it was a little uncomfortable. They are big on rules. Some elderly women came in, hot from walking around for the quilt event in the downtown area and carrying water bottles, and the hostess/server loudly announced that they couldnt bring in outside beverages. It appears that they are trying to create a very upscale atmosphere, but between embarrassing the customers, and slow service, it feels like they arent achieving that goal very effectively. If the customer service isnt first you wont get to the atmosphere you desire. Just a thought. That being said, I would probably return again to try their other dishes, because the food and drinks were overall good and I think they just need to work on being more hospitable and less...snooty. Kid-friendliness: Not a kid friendly establishment.

We decided to try this cute, hole in the wall restaurant for our weekly girl s lunch today. As soon as we arrived with our young kids, the servers and what looked like the manager looked us up and down and made snarky comments about us bringing our kids since they only had one high chair. The cozy grape is quite a gem in the rough so to speak, much more than you would expect from a small town with a great selection of food and wine to pair. The cherry on top is the service, your glass will never be empty and the staff is as present or as scarce as needed, they very much read the table which is fantastic. The menu selection is European inspired where you will find anything from escargot and pasta from French and Italian influence to sea bass, steaks of Spanish to American style. It really is a restaurant you can keep coming back to time and time again with a renewed palette in their daily specials and menu. As a personal touch the restaurant does have two floors so if you are just looking for a drink of wine to wind down or wanting a culinary experience, both are offered here with decent prices to boot.

I am only giving one star because I cant give 0. I have only ever written one review before, so taking the time to write this out and post it means it is important this reaches other potential customers. My family just moved to the area and wanted to celebrate our new adventure with a nice dinner. We had driven past this restaurant in the multiple target/Home Depot/etc runs since moving in a week ago and decided we wanted to go to a nice dinner for our first Saturday as Texans. We have a one year old daughter, so we arrived at the restaurant at 420pm. Early enough to miss the dinner rush. The restaurant was empty at this point. Just us and one or two other tables. As we walked in a nice young man sat us at a four top and we asked for a high chair. He grabbed a high chair from another table and as he was placing it at our table a woman (possibly the owner or manager) said we couldnt use it as a group had made a reservation with a highchair. We understood that, we said wed have our daughter sit on our laps or in a chair. Then, the woman proceeded to talk to the young man telling him he should move us to a two top (we were already seated at this point and would have had to get up and move). She decided it was early enough for us to stay at the four top, so we sat down. The young man offered us a booster seat, which we accepted and appreciated. We sat down and had a pleasant and kind server. We ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. Our daughter is 1, so she isnt a complete saint but she sat as nicely as one would expect a one year old to sit on a parents lap and in a booster seat without a seatbelt. She ate chicken, drank water, and colored on a napkin (which the woman at the front did provide after she realized she rudely asked us to move after we were already seated). As we were finishing our dessert (it was now about 545pm and the dinner rush was starting to trickle in), a waiter took down a decorative chalk sign and returned a few minutes later with the same sign, but a new message. He hung this sign directly above our table. *See picture* - it reads we love children. We really do. BUT. We are a wine bar and bistro. We have no booster seats nor high chairs or a childrens menu. As a courtesy to other diners, please be mindful of others so that all of our customers have a great dining experience. I have never felt so singled out, embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome. We understand that some restaurants do not allow children, which is fine. If we would have walked in and been told children were not allowed, we would have walked right back out. But to allow us to eat and spend our money, then hang this sign right over our head as we were still eating. It was uncalled for and disrespectful. We did everything we could to enjoy a nice dinner and respect others (arrived before the rush, brought snacks and toys to occupy our daughter,etc). We wont be back and I would hope this establishment doesnt make another family feel this way. What is a family supposed to do when they are seated at a table and then look up to see this sign? Walk out? Muzzle their child? Food for thought.

Great food, service and prices. A very welcoming atmosphere. The staff is very responsive and knowledgable. They are very supportive of the varies charities in our community. On good weather days it is nice to eat outside on the patio. Appreciate my dog can come with me on the patio. Cozy Grape is definitely my go to restaurant.

I really enjoyed my first visit to this restaurant after hearing great things over the years. The grilled shrimp were tasty and seemed fairly fresh. The filet was excellent and my wife definitely beat me on selection with this order. The flavor was exceptional and truly unique as well as being cooked as ordered. Props to the chef for the preparation. Solid wine selection as well. Drinks were decent, but my old fashioned was much sweeter than Id prefer. Not bad, just not perfect. Definitely would recommend this restaurant.

A beautiful restaurant with great staff and amazing food & wine! Their signature dish is a blue cheese crostini with carmelized apples and honey.. to die for! The shrimp scampi appetizer was also delicious. 2 glasses of the Italian Chardonnay and the Wednesday special entrees made for a perfect evening. Will be back soon and hoping they have a semillon on the menu!

First off Im not a wine drinker.... Second this was a trip for my wife..... My wife and I wanted to try something new and for 20 years we go to a place that has steak for me. So with an open mind I thought this would be right up mt wife alley. We were shuffled up stairs ( I dont know why maybe our attire) and were greeted to a fantastic waiter. My wife ordered the flight of white wine. And a meat and cheed appetizer, the cozy mac and cheese. And this pineapple blu cheese dish The latter of the 3 had way way too much flavor. We enjoyed it but it was shocking how much was going on. The Mac and cheese was nice. The meat and cheese tray was so good. I tried a sip of each white wine with my wife and they were not too bad. I would say that the time I spent with my wife doing and eating something she likes made this place perfect! The service awesome the food was mixed not bad just not my normal but I enjoyed the experience. We will go back more often!

Tried for the first time and our cosy grape salad was delicious as was the Pollo Romano and chicken capelinni. Was disappointed that there was no bread served with olive oil, and the mashed potatoes were poorly seasoned. Service was excellent and the entrées are worth another trip.

A friend recommended this place to me. I m sorry, but I cannot pass on the recommendation. The restaurant was touted as upscale and offering perfect food/wine pairings. The only things upscale were the prices. The wait staff offered very little in the way of recommendations for wine pairings. The food was very disappointing. My shrimp was off (sent it back), and my husbands pork tenderloin sandwich was full of gristle (our dog was happy to receive it, however). Oh, and whos palate thinks that green olives and pecans work together in a salad?

This is our second attempt to have a decent dinner at Cozy Grape. The first time, the food was basically average, the wait was a little long. But nothing too terrible. We like to give restaurants a second chance where we can. So, we came back again. My wife ordered a meal. She asked for the goat cheese flatbread. Instead the waiter brought her a goat cheese salad. My wife says oh, Im sorry this isnt what I ordered. I asked for the flatbread.. The waiter apologized and brought the food back inside the kitchen. Then the young man came out that initially took the order, and he was carrying the salad plate again.. and he told my wife that she ordered the salad.. My wife said no I didnt, I ordered the flatbread. The waiter argued with her, and my wife said its okay Ill just eat the salad. THEN... the waiter would not give it to her. He held on to the plate while she was trying to take it from him. But he just wanted to show her what he thought was her mistake. Without allowing her to even eat food. Meanwhile, I got the short ribs they were..meh. The waiter did not check in with us afterwards to see if there was anything else that we needed. And he didnt want to make eye contact with me.. We left feeling very displeased and insulted by the waiter. No doubt the manager knew what was going on because he was within earshot of much of the dialogue, and he never came over.. NOT ONCE. On our way out we asked the hostess if we can see the manager, he never came... Terrible customer service, mediocre food.

Absolutely terrible food and service, dont waste your money or time by going here. The food was bland and tasteless, service rude when we talked poorly of the food. We started with what was supposed to be the French onion soup this was not the wonderful French onion soup that has stood the age of time. They made it with chicken stock and, boiled the onions! Next lets talk about the so called demi glaze, this was nothing more than greasy watered down pan drippings, truly discusting!

Delicious what else can you say! I have visited 3 times, each time trying something different the food is so fresh and I love the fact that the menu is changed regularly and not stationary like some restaurants with microwave technicians. My favorite has been Mahi Mahi with grilled sumer squash and zucchini and a chimichurri sauce. It was amazing. I cant wait to go back again and try something new.

Love the atmosphere here! Great wine selection. This small Texas town bistro is like a little bit of Italy has been carved out and planted right into the downtown area of Montgomery, Texas. The menu is diverse enough that there is something for everyone. Outdoor patio is relaxing, but not boring. Music is wonderful, upbeat background tunes (think Italy) that dont overtake your conversation. Im coming back tomorrow for dinner. Tonight was just a little wine night, a sneak peak. Looking forward to tasting the chefs creations!

We are staying at the Caroline House bed and breakfast. The owner Mary had recommended we go here for dinner. She even handed us a 10% discount card that the restaurant has made for her guests. The fact its right down the block from where we are staying was a huge plus. The restaurant has plenty of free parking, plus indoor and outdoor seating. They have a bar on the second floor that stays open later than the kitchen. We sat inside on the first floor. The second we walked in the ambiance hit us. With music, low lights, dark colors and the art on the walls I immediately said to myself I love this We were greeted and asked where we would like to sit(inside,outside,bar). Once seated we were given menus and asked if we wanted water or drinks etc. We placed our drink order and started to read the menu. They have specials on certain nights and one of them is the chicken Romano. The description had me sold. We also ordered a few appetizers. Appetizers Cozy Mac n cheese (without onions) Escargot Cheese board Olive tamponade For entrees we ordered Lamb shank Chicken Romano Every single item we ordered was delicious. I spread the Tamponade on the bread and then added some of the goat cheese from the cheese board and instant happiness was found at my first bite. The Escargot was very delicious and prepared the way I like it . The Mac n cheese with bacon had a smokey flavor and the pasta was perfectly cooked! I was truly enjoying picking from every plate. When the entrees arrived we packed the starters up to take home(plenty left over) the lamb was so tender and had such a robust flavor. Like stew that had been slow cooked for hours. The chicken served with artichoke and a white cream sauce was absolutely perfect. I cant even describe the taste because there is so much going on that I just ate it in silence (smiling). The servers were very attentive, and made no mistakes with any modifications or dishes we ordered. They were also very very polite. Each one saying Maam in their replies. I will definitely go back before this trip is over. If you live near by or even an hour away..definitely make the trip to Montgomery and eat here!!. The pictures make the dishes look very basic, but the flavor of each dish is above and beyond!!! This place is 100% great for romantic dates.

Stopped by for lunch as first time visitors. Had the gourmet shrimp tacos which were excellent. Wifey had chicken salad sandwich on croissant along with roasted jalapeno soup which were both excellent. Both items were on lunch special for an amazing $9.00. Outstanding service and my only critical comment is the unusually high noise level. All in all this is definitely a recommend.
