I tried calling multiple times and left multiple messages. I was charged after a cancelation due to a dietary issue since my wife had just had surgery. The website did not mention closing of the restaurant which had more options than steak when it was open. I would have never booked it due to this knowing that. There were two different websites when looking into it and one says the restaurant was closed and the other website with correct information. I cant help that we clicked on the wrong one as we just didnt know. I am now forced to pay over $300 for a night I never used nor enjoyed due to having to cancel. I understand the policy but I also have worked in this industry for over 20 years and know what decision can and cant be made when dealing with certain dietary needs and cancelations. To refuse a refund is just cruel and horrible customer service after explaining the situation to the man who actually answered the phone the same night I made the reservation and tried to get my refund after finding out it would not work for my wife. I called back many times leaving messages, still nothing.

We were there last Sunday for brunch. First impression was amazing, the place the feel the ambience etc. We sat down and saw it was pretty packed. They were nice we were a larger party (7) so waited to be seated. Once we were seated we ordered childrens pancakes which were brought promptly, but our order took almost 40 minutes. Waitress apologized and brought a free kids pancake platter for us because of the wait, this definitely helped and we were patient. Because of the wait, we were definitely expecting good food to go with the place. We were underwhelmed unfortunately after the long wait. The crepe was just OK, two were ordered at the table, one was dry the other was better but not the same. The avocado toast was pretty bad and small. The toast was half a dollar bill with eggs that were over cooked and did not run as supposed to. The whole thing was also very dry. (asked waitress if it came with cheese and she explained it came with hollandaise sauce) it did not come with hollandaise sauce or any sauce. For 17usd you can expect a large piece of toast with more avocado and perfect eggs... Both avo toasts came out the same. The ONLY plate that was pretty awesome was the French toast... That was really good, kind of saved the day from being completely disappointing. Place and Ambiance 5/5 Wait staff service 5/5 Time 2/5 Food 1/5 Had high expectations because prices are on the middle to higher side, unfortunately not worth coming back for us. Mightve been a mishap or off day, but dont think we will be giving it a second chance. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu on a toy was a nice touch

Had a great brunch on a Friday. Great services from Zachary. He was so great. We were greated by the owner and chef and he graciously gave us some history of the house. This is a 10 out of 10 in the entire USA. I will be back on my next visit. Oh and make sure you stop by the lounge/bar on you way out. So beautiful. I felt so welcomed the staff was celebrating a birthday and the the birthday girl shared her red velvet cake with us. Made me feel like part of the family. The rooms were updated and beautiful too. Thanks for a great time for me and my friends.

We ate here twice in two days. At each meal, there were 7 of us. We went once in the evening while celebrating a birthday. Collin, our waiter, was excellent as were the food items we ordered. The pecan crusted salmon and the birthday cupcake were really delicious I love how the children s menu is displayed on a View Master. That was fun for everyone. The next day we had brunch and we weren t as impressed. There was an odd spice on the top waffle of the chicken and waffles dish but the rest of the dish was good. The brunch just did not compare to the dishes we had the night before. The restaurant is an old house and cute inside and out. After looking around, it does look like a fantastic place for an event and there are many picturesque areas.

My wife surprised me with my 60th birthday at the eatery at Hodge Podge. The entire group of 6 was so disappointed with the food. My wife suffered through about 1/2 of an over cooked filet and her friend sent hers back, we have had better crab cakes from the freezer section of krogers. I had the 50.00 sea bass I did find find a few small flakes of fish lost in the mashed potatoes but never saw a filet. Our service was good so no complaints there. We was there 06/28/2023.

This is such a quaint location for breakfast or brunch. The restaurant is in combination with a bed and breakfast lodge as well as gorgeous outdoor wedding venue. The restaurant looks like a home thats been converted into an eatery. It has a cozy cottage vibe with sunlight beaming through the white curtains of the windows. You can see the garden and greenery through the windows while you eat. Its absolutely beautiful. The employees here are warm and friendly and their menu is clear and easy to navigate. The food is priced fairly since everything is fresh and made in house. I ordered the seafood crepes which were light and filling. It had crab, shrimp, spinach and mushroom creme sauce. My sister ordered the beet salad with added salmon and my dad got the crabcake eggs benedict. Everything we got was delicious. Our waiter Jamie was so sweet and came to check on us regularly and made recommendations on the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant to locals and visitors looking for a homey, relaxed, and peaceful breakfast! Parking: There is tons of parking out front and lots of trees so you can find a shady spot for your car on sunny days. It is for free as well so no worries.

My family and I came today for Easter brunch, it was our first time and we will certainly be back! Everything was hot and delicious, didn t have to wait for more than a minute for anything, and it was well worth the price tag. I do wish there would have been at least one complimentary beverage included with the meal, but I understand that could probably be a little pricey or hard to keep track of. Regardless, everything was great, all the servers were so friendly, and being a parent of a baby and a toddler, I didn t feel like a burden or that we were not welcomed. It was definitely a family friendly environment :)

This was an amazing little find in Old Town Montgomery. There are many buildings on the property as it is also a wedding venue. The restaurant is the first building next to the parking lot. I went at lunchtime, and most of the lunch menu is breakfast items. I had the chicken and waffles and my friend had their roasted chicken and spinach crepes. All the food was so good! This restaurant does have a fine dining feel to it. You can tell they train their staff well and have a certain standard of etiquette. Our server was very attentive and polite! The lunch menu ranges between $13-22 for an entree. And a glance at their dinner menu, it was between $19-54 for an entree.

We took the family to dinner at the Eatery at Hodge Podge Lodge for New Years Eve with high expectations due to reviews. They had a prix fixe menu with 3 options for the special occasion. $65 per person. We had a 7:00 pm reservation and arrived on time. We waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated and another 20 minutes before a waiter brought us water. We ordered a bottle of wine and that was served. We were never offered bread but did notice other tables being served bread and stopped a different waiter, who gave us the bread that her table did not want. It was only two rolls that we shared. We requested bread from our waiter, it did not come until long into the meal. We all ordered the tenderloin, medium rare. Service was slow, they were clearly overwhelmed. The steaks arrived cooked to medium, not medium rare. It was edible, but not excellent. The plating was also underwhelming. They were out of all of the dessert options except 2 by the time we were offered dessert. Again, service was slow, we had been there 2 hours at this point. They were also out of Dr. Pepper when we arrived. Overall, I feel like our waiter was overwhelmed, they were clearly understaffed both in front and in the kitchen. They also did not order enough product for this event which seems odd due to requiring reservations. This was an unacceptable experience due to $345 tab before tip for a family of 4. When attending an event like this, the expectation is for a higher level of service and a more pleasant experience. I would not recommend this establishment to a friend nor do I intend to return with my family.

This was our first visit here and we heard great reviews but we left very disappointed. After being seated we were served over cooked almost burned rolls, the waitress said that it was late in the evening and that is why. It was 7:15pm. I had the Salmon, cooked well but had very little flavor, The mushroom sauce was good. I ordered baked mushroom instead of the mash and veggies, good flavor but cold. My wife had a burger, order medium and as soon as I saw it I could tell the hockey puck was well done. Might give them another chance but I just don t know.

My friends and I were really excited about dining here for the Mother s Day brunch as a couple of them had heard great things about the restaurant. We had a 3:00 reservation that I confirmed beforehand would allow us a 2 hour window to enjoy both the company and our meal. I hate to say that this place was a huge disappointment because I really wanted to love it but it was a disaster! The brunch was served buffet style and as I was standing in line and saw people with plates overloaded with food I thought that I d like to sample the options first and then return for the things I enjoyed .evidently they must have known something that I didn t because once the food was picked over or ran out it wasn t replenished nor cleaned up. It was very disappointing to pay that much money ($55) for brunch yet leave unsatisfied. The cold seafood selection was covered in flies, the dessert table looked like a 3 year old had a free for all, we couldn t get a drink refill to save our lives, and an hour into the meal they began taking whatever was left (not much) away. The food seemed tasty and I would have loved to have gotten a proper serving and actually been able to enjoy it! Maybe this isn t the norm as the reviews seem great .maybe special buffets like this just isn t their thing!

Husband took me for surprise brunch. He made reservations, but I dont think it was necessary. The waiter was wonderful. The food was delicious. We got their onion rings as appetizer. I had omlete and hubby had fish tacos. He said the slaw could have used a bit more dressing, other than that he said it was good. The grounds are cute. Only downside is that this awesome spot is a bit of a drive. But its comparable to driving to Houston.

We are 4 old friends on a four day getaway to the lake. Hodge Podge Lodge was recommended, and we had such a good time. We ordered salmon, sea bass, and the burger, and all were superb! We cant say enough good things about Debby...she made our evening so much fun.

We just moved up to the Montgomery area. I was looking for a fine dining place to take my wife on a date and found the Hodge Podge Lodge. After looking their site over and looking at the reviews. I figured I would give it a try. I have to say it was worth it. I am sure I could find things to nitpick, but I had no real complaints. As we both left feeling as you should after leaving this place, and everyone that works there was a pleasure to meet.

Mothers Day buffet was such a disappointment. $58 per person, packed into a small building out back with barely any room to move, running into people and getting bumped over and over, thinking we were going to eat GOOD for this price at one of our favorite restaurants, the buffet consisted of an omlet station, cold mini waffles (2 left), cold cuts and cubed cheeses (flies alllll over the food), a couple of cold pasta options, some breakfast meats.....the stuff that we came for, lamb and prime rib, were out when we got there and we had to stand in line between tables while people were eating (terrible) to wait for them to bring more....and more clean plates. This was just an epic fail for Chef Jeff. The biggest ripoff and not even close to what weve ordered inside the restaurant. So so so disappointed. $275 later and we are all so mad that we stayed and tried to make the best of it.

10/10 all around Everything Ive had from their dinner menu has been perfect. Creamed spinach, au gratin potatoes, and their unique spin on their wedge salad all stand out as my favorites. You cant go wrong with anything on their menu though. Outside allows for the most beautiful pictures. While I have to stayed overnight in one of their airbnbs yet, my husband and I are planning on doing so soon!

My friend who was with me could not believe the attitude from her and the way she spoke to us. Sad to say, but I will eat elsewhere!
