We were part of the larger party Totally dissatisfied with food and service and I didn t eat anything after food was delivered. In the beginning waiter didn t understand the menu and type of fish they serving. The salad is just chopped lettuce covered with dressing tasting like cheap condensed milk. The fish was not the one like stated on the menu and strawberry desert cake tasted like blend of sugary substance. I don t know why this place gets five stars???

Terrible service from the waiter who served us. Its up to you to go work somewhere else where youre happy and leave your space to staff who know how to do their job. Food served cold and he never stopped at my table again.. I asked for hot sauce and he brought me tomato sauce halfway through breakfast. I had to ask another waiter to pay attention to my table. The place and its food are excellent whenever I come, it is the first time that they serve me very cold. I have been visiting this place for 20 years from its location in Reynosa and I will make sure that no one else receives this treatment. Thank you

By far one of the best places to eat in South Texas. We have been eating at La Fogata since the days of Reynosa Tamaulipas dating back to the early 1990s. Their home made tortillas de harina, delicious! Try it out!

To say this is one of the classiest places in the Area is an understatement. This restaurant is truly a great place to dine. It s alright. The staff is very nice, tables are too close together imo. Don t get a green tea they re gonna give u the hill country brand one. I ordered the red chilaquiles, they gave me a good serving I couldn t finish but they were good, Tex Mex style. Make sure to ask for the spicy sauce it s good. Might go back for the chilaquiles.

We went there last Saturday to celebrate a birthday, and we were impressed how the food is bad and the presentation of the plates are so ugly. Not even the most simple taqueria would serve a cold ugly food like the ones that was served to us. I will never go back and will never recommend this restaurant to no one. My wife went there for brunch and raved about it so I took her back for dinner. It is a rather large establishment with 2 separate dining areas. The main dining room was, I wont say lavish but well apportioned and had kind of a regal look. The restaurant was clean and neat, the wait staff neatly uniformed and attentive. We chose to eat in the bar. A smaller area and quieter than the main dining room, still neat and comfortable and well staffed. They have a large well stocked bar and while we didnt drink I watched many great looking drinks go by. There were 3 large TV screens with different sports channels playing . The menu was quite interesting, it is a Mexican restaurant and they had many delicacies. It is much like Rebeccas except it has English translations and the staff speaks English. Their specialty is carbirto but they have a large selection of fish chicken and beef as well as a childrens menu. I had mullejas (sweetbreads) something I was fond of as a kid growing up in a farm community, and arroz y pulpos which was excellent. My wife had the chicken skewers and baked potato. For dessert I had a lovely Caramel cheese cake and my wife had flan. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back as I have a hankering to try their machitos. Interesting to note as we were leaving the restaurant the car ahead of us was from Mexico. I think that says a lot for the restaurant. Parking: Many handicapped spaces near the entrance easly wheel chair accessible in fact there was a lady at the next table in a wheelchair. Kid-friendliness: I mentioned that they have a childrens menu Wheelchair accessibility: Easy all on one level and wide isles.

The food and service were terrible. Even when placing a to go they make you wait 30 min after arriving to the restaurant. During lunch, I ordered a Ribeye steak, the steak was so thin I thought it was a milanesa. The steak was gray like if it was blanched rather than grilled. Very disappointed in the food. A few years ago this always was a great experience to go with the family. As of lately the quality has gone down. The waiters seem to care so much for the tip that literally watch you sign your receipt.

Bartender did not speak English and could not understand my orders. I ordered Cabrito and that is all I got. No salad or beans. I had to repeatedly ask for water. After I finished my meal I tried explain to the bartender to adjust my bill for whatvI did not receive. He then brought out the salad and beans which I did not want by that time. The background music with the excellent pianist, the service good, the atmosphere good. The meal will start with the hard tortilla chips, you couldnt eat them without hurting your teeth, the melted cheese with tasteless cracks and a small portion, the regular kid had more bone than meat and the meat wasnt that soft or hot, the rice and Good beans, cold tortillas, they didnt know how to make the cappuccino, some had more coffee and others had more milk. We recently visited Restaurant La Fogata and thoroughly enjoyed the awesome jazz sax vibe with live music entertainment. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the live music really added to the experience. However, I would advise caution when it comes to the pricing of their white wine selection. I was shocked to find a 400% mark-up on the white wine prices, which I found to be incredibly high. During my visit, I noticed that a bottle of Pinot Grigio, which typically retails for $10.99, was being charged at $68.00. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter and asked for a review of the prices, I was informed that the price in the system was correct. This seemed to be a management issue rather than a fault of the waiter. While the food was good, I believe that there is room for improvement in both the menu selection and the wine list pricing options. Overall, Restaurant La Fogata offers a great dining experience with excellent live music, but it would benefit from reevaluating its wine pricing and considering a menu and wine list upgrade.

All the plates but one were really good. The stuffed chicken wasnt really stuffed. It was just a sliced chicken breast with a bland cream sauce. We had two cabrito legs which one was succulent but the other one was too dry already. As for the service goes, it took ten minutes to accommodate a group of 5 when it wasnt that busy. Our waiter even though very polite and on the older side, he seemed kind of lost and a beginner to be waiting in this kind of restaurant. At the end I asked for the the check and I have no idea why it took so long for me to get up after 10 minutes and request it from the persons in charge of the sitting who were just lollygagging in the back. I would probably go back but for such an overpriced Mexican restaurant with that service, well.... Ill see.
