Never again will I ever go back. Way over priced. 1 inchilada, rice and beans for a little boy for $11.00. I received the bill $80.00. Almost had a heart attack. My brother told me he does not go there ever. The waiter was great! Hostess made us feel unwelcome. I was so disgusted at the whole dining experience. I too, work at a food service establishment. I read some of the reviews. Instead of being defensive when someone makes a bad review, listen and learn and make adjustments for the better. Without customers you are nothing.

New place to go for Mexican dessert! I was looking for a place in Midland that has fried ice cream. Stumbled on Monterrey having ice cream burritos and thought that sounded close enough - omg so happy with this decision! Ice cream wrapped into a tortilla and then fried and topped with cinnamon sugar - so delicious! Only about $5/person which is also cheaper than going to an ice cream shop! Plan to go here again for sure

The service was great, the tables are very close together so if you re an introvert it s a little uncomfortable. The waitress did great no complaints. Now the food well let s just say it s not very tasty at all. Most Americans enjoy this food due to minimal seasoning, the ground beef for my tacos looked very much different. This was not your typical taco dish. The queso tasted like powdered milk. This is what I consider Tex-Mex food this is not authentic Mexican food. Some people enjoy it, to each their own.

Very dissatisfied with my to go order. They do not include any chips or salsa with a large order. I specifically asked if I would be receiving salsa when I arrived and was assured it was in the bag. It was not. They would not do anything about it when I let them know when I arrived home. It feels like I got ripped off and they want to nickel and dime. Poor customer service as well.

I love coming here however when I went the other day their credit card machine went down... I ordered it to go and I waited for a while for them to fix it and then when they couldnt I figured they would just give me my soup because thats all I ordered ... I think the manager was going to do that but she had contacted the owner who was no help at all :( I ended up going to get get cash but I was not the only customer put off by the situation: ( I would like to continue to go here but if the owner is not accommodating when his machines malfunction it kind of leads me away from here

Absolutely appalling service The server seemed to be in a foul mood, cursing openly and displaying a complete lack of professionalism. To top it off, they spilled scalding hot soup on my face, showing utter disregard for basic safety measures. Moreover, they were disrespectful towards my wife. This kind of behavior is inexcusable and completely ruined what should have been a pleasant dining experience. I strongly advise against dining here until they address these serious issues with their staff.

This is Tex-Mex. I was expecting some actual authentic Mexican food especially Monterrey Style but this was not it. My Waitress was nice but service itself was slow and wasn t a lot people. I rated this a low 2 star because a table on my side asked for a straw from another waitress who was older with blonde hair and she rudely replied she doesn t have one and she s isn t going to attend him when clearly she had an apron with straws around her waist. Now I get it s not her table but it was simply just a straw. He thankfully was able to leave without paying anything after his waitress heard everything but I personally was disgusted to see this. That waitress caused her co worker to miss out on money. I hope she gets suspended. You are there to attend and if you re simply not happy with that then why pick that profession.

I usually go in but I had recently ordered for pick up as I was speaking the little girl who answered the phone just hung up on me while I was trying to let her know what I was wanting. I had called back a let her know that she just hung up on me an all she said was oh ok how can I help you. Then when I went in to go pick up I didn t even get a hello as I walked in. She seemed like she just didn t even want to be there. She was even wearing some short shorts. Idk how y all do things here but that s was the worst customer service I had ever received from this place.

This restaurant has been a great place in the past, but unfortunately the owner needs to reevaluate the way he treats his customers, and cares for his business. It is super unnecessary to cuss at your customers, as well as get an attitude because your employees are in the wrong. If your bartenders were not drinking and partying on the clock they wouldn t make drinks incorrectly. It s sad to say after being a long time customer, who has been passionate about supporting this local business, I will look to spend my dollars elsewhere. I also have it in video where the owner was cussing at us simply for saying our drink was made incorrectly. Would love to share it with anyone who needs to see it!

This place is awful. The manager is rude and the staff can t even bring you drinks. 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Waiter charged us for chips and salsa. When asked about it we were told you got a refill. We didn t ask for a refill and didn t touch the salsa or chips. Spent quite a bit of $$$ but was chastised by the manager for only ordering appetizers for 5 people. Mind you we had several margaritas, 2 large appetizers and cheese dip! Just really bad service. The fountain is disgusting. Dirty brown water. Manager needs to go back for service training.

Food was ok, margaritas are awful. Took 45 minutes to get our appetizer. We were charged for chips and salsa that we didnt order. Asked the waiter why we were charged and he said one order is free and I brought you another order (we didnt ask for it) so its $5.00. The manager came up and yelled at me and pointed at the menu where chips and salsa were $5.00, ok we didnt order chips and salsa. He said seriously you order 2 large appetizers for 6 people?? We only had 5 people. We had cheese dip, 2 large appetizers, 4 margaritas and 3 sweet teas. Our bill was over $100.00. Also added 20% as a service fee to our bill. Will never go again.

Sooo we finally decided to TRY this place. Wish we DID NOT. ONE of the plates they brought us was dirty. The salsa was sooooo SALTY! !!! We brought it to the managers attention and he said it was us because no one else said anything., BUT all the othet customers salsa bowls were still full when they left, that says something.!!! A good salsa would be ALL eaten!!!!! GOOD SALSA IS EATEN!...DUH! ...........good thing it was complimentary Plus, Worst heartburn ever! AND... AND prices are ridiculous for what you get AND it takes over 10 minutes to get a refill for your drink, but you have to ask for it, the waitress does NOT check on your table. #1. HANDICAP ramps are dangerous!! My husbands wheel went off the edge as he made the very narrow turn going across the very narrow sidewalk. He & his scooter ended up in the bushes due to this sharp turn. Thank goodness a man inside, waiting saw him fall over & came out & helped me get him back up on the walk. #2. Then. When he got to the narrow front door, their entrance rug was sticking up, caught in his wheels & threw him off to one side, where he had to have help again. #3. Once we got inside there was no aewa for a handicap scooter to park for the 20-30 minute wait, except right in the door where folks were tripping over him - & HIS IS A SMALL SCOOTER Definately NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY ACCESS. Every time I ve visited this establishment I think it couldn t possibly get worse. I am wrong. The manager behind the bar was heavily drinking with customers on a Sunday midday. The server was more concerned with laughing it up with other servers than waiting on her two group parties. The bus boys took better care of her tables and were better attentive to her section than she was. When bringing the awful service to his attention he reeked of intense alcohol trying to justify her lousy service. I told him, that I would understand slow service if the restaurant was packed but that was not the case. He wouldn t hear us out but rather spoke sternly at and said things like, no worries I ll just fill that table with other people . He was clearly (and smelled) under the influence. A good manager would hold his staff accountable and conduct himself/herself in a professional manner, that was definitely not the case.

This is one of our go to Mexican haunts in Midland. My wife is from Mexico and we have a home there that we live in part time. So we love Mexican food! Heck we love Tex-mex . Heck, we love food! Monterrey Cocina has a great menu with very reasonable prices. I can t think of anything we have ordered from there that was average or sub-par. It s all great!!!! The staff there is always super friendly. Be warned though . If you go at peak hours or on a Friday or Saturday- be prepared for a 15-30 minute wait. This is a pretty popular spot with the locals. I have been to this restaurant several times and its been really good and today I recommend it to several co workers and it really sucked!! The hostes was rude cause didnt give her the right number of people right away! When we did give her our final count she responded to us that we didnt mention it to her!! She even made it cleared to us that we needed to ask our server if we needed anything!!! The food was not good at all. Their enchiladas were watery and their tea was watered down tasted more like sweet water, then I asked to change to a coke and they were upset and made a face!! One of my co-worker ordered queso for all of us but I was not able to eat it because as the hostes was setting it on the table her nail/finger touched the queso!!! Am sorry but that is gross to me because am not sure she washed her hands before serving us!!!!

Came to try out this restaurant since my friend recommended it and it was really good. I was very impressed with their service. I was more like Wowed by their service. We had a waitress that tended to us but there were others there that also check on us. They made sure we didnt need more drinks, chips, salsa, etc. The food was really good. Nice crispy crunch tacos with rice and beans. I was full with my plate. My husband got a plate that had one crispy taco, one cheese enchilada, some steak fajitas, and rice and beans. My husband and I went here for lunch and it was terrible! It was our first time and definitely our last time. We were happy to give this place a try. We had to ask the manager to send our waitress to take our order, after watching her continue to walk by us as if we did not exist. She kept helping other tables, and then finally came to us, after we asked. The food was terrible! I even asked the waitress what was good to eat there and she told me she could not tell me. That should have been a red flag right there! The food reminded me of a frozen dinner that you warm up in the microwave. It was not good at all. Needless to say, we were very disappointed!

When I think of West Texas, Monterrey always come to mind! The Owners and the staff have always treated me as family. Memories were created there that will last a lifetime. The Margaritas on the rocks along with the friendly atmosphere make you feel at home. The family recipes have staid consistent since I can remember. Ordered takeout the two host at the front were super friendly helpful and had great customer service. The food was soooo good. I went for the Mexican food but wanted to see if the burger was as good as the other offerings. Sadly I think it was not handmade. We come here frequently. I d recommend the chicken tacos and a margarita. Not my favorite place for fajitas but the enchiladas and other plates are my husband s favorite

Really good Texmex food! The chicken enchiladas with green sauce was delicious. The meat was flavorful and sauce really creamy. The waiter was friendly and kept our drinks full. Will love to return here.

It s an a amazing and joyful Mexican restaurant where family and I can actually taste a real Cocina Mexicana my kids loved their queso con carne the horchata water was delicious just like any other drink available and to finalize my lovely experience the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to join an amazing service and Mexican food, the bar it s nice as well, will be perfectly clear that I can have a great time with friends.

The worst Mexican food Ive ever had. Tried the barbacoa, it was fatty and wntirely unseasoned. The rice was bland, beans flavorless. Wife ordered the carne guisada, which was passable. Margarita had a strange aftertaste. We brought 2/3 of our meal home for our dogs, who seemed to genuinely enjoy it. Just save yourself the time and money and go anywhere else.
