Well I was looking forward to dining here. I had a bite of my coworkers food and it was delicious. Unfortunately the kitchen closes at 9 PM and I arrived at 9:03 PM. I got off of work late, such is life. Hopefully I can try a full meal sooner than later. But the bite I had I m sure it will be good so I will still give it 4 stars. Just know open until 10P but kitchen closes at 9:00 PM sharp

This is a great place for a meal and for drinks. Bartenders all know your name and what you drink as soon as you walk in need I say more?! Food is made to order and tastes like home.

I ve been coming to this fine establishment since 2009 and hope to keep coming here as long as they re around and I m able. It s a comfort place for me with hands down the best caldo De rez in Midland. It s also one of the few places in Midland you can get menudo during the week. Charlas has the option of a formal dining experience or a dive bar setting. They even have a small room you could possibly reserve for a small party. The bar is my favorite area to eat in.

Service was fast. Inside is a bit run down looking with the walls covered in one dollar bills defaced by many. The chips & salsa were good. The taco salad was nothing to write home about. The bottom of the shell was extremely soggy when I got half way thru the salad. The size of it was not worth the cost. The sweet tea was extremely sweet but counteracted the spicy kick in the salsa.

I have been going to Charlas for a long time and this was the worst service in the worst food I have ever received from there! My husband went to the bar three different times for a beer and was charged three different prices! We had to ask for chips and salsa, we had to ask for drinks, we had to ask for refills, the chips tasted burned or from old grease. Then when it came time to pay all of our checks were outrageous!!! My husband had a cheeseburger and I had a burrito and tea and our check was $40!!! Needless to say we will not be going back Parking: On the corner and about 8 places to park in their parking lot

Used to love going to Charlas atleast once a week, the caldo de res,menudo and steak plate were always great, the last 2 times I went I got charged for things I didnt order but was told that was because prices went up and hadnt reflected yet so they had to add it that way, I thought it was weird so we stopped going for a while,well Im sick and wanted some caldo de res, the soup its self tastes like there is some type of chemical in it maybe soap or cleaning agent im not sure but it tasted awful along with the potatoes and carrots not even being cooked just hard and raw still, really done eating and ordering Togo from here,place has gone down hill. 0/10 do not recommend.

First and last time! I paid $6.25 for 8 Oz of Tostito queso The Carne Asada has zero seasoning. Its covered in jalapeños and onions only. No salt.... no pepper.. like nothing.. Who puts sour cream in beans?? Like the entire jar into my 1 ounce serving. The taco for my wifes order tasted like it came straight from Taco Villa. Wouldnt recommend.

I ve been coming here for years. This is the locals go-to place. And it s mine as well. Charlas has GREAT food and a family atmosphere! Want to know where the bartenders of other places come to drink? It s Charlas. They are a great family and have a great restaurant/bar. It has a dive sort of feel but in a good clean way. Btw- say hi to Lisa. She is a bartender here that is meaner than a six foot rattlesnake you are trying to put in a pot of boiling water. I love her. Edit/update- Great time to come in this summer! Place is rocking!

1st time last time. Walked up to bar to meet my friend. The customers were nicer than the bartenders. Was introduced to one bartender she didnt take my order...cool . Was on my phone reading messages because its my business phone. Lisa the orher bartender raised her voice to get my attention to get my order. I was in there about 15 min before attending to. That was uncalled for . Do not recommend .

Best salsa in town?? It didnttaste any special to me. The place looks run down and I really didnt like that the waitress took my boyfriends order and then she left, brought his food out, and THEN took my order so his got cold because he waited for me to get my order. The food was okay, the rice was pretty good, deffinately not the best, but we had two chimichangas and two waters and it came out to 32 bucks??? Yeah not coming here again. Imma go to Tkilaz next time thanks.

Chips and salsa was delicious! My husband had the picadillo plate and I had the brisket tacos. Both were wonderful! The waitress mentioned they were some of her favorite plates and they did not disappoint. Food came out quickly, drinks never made it to empty without a quick refill and the waitstaff was downright joyful. This will need to be in our regular rotation!

Great service food was ok but I hate to do this to a business that has been around 19 years but I have to do.I had multiple bar nats land on my food and instead of putting them on blast I secretly wrote a message so that bartender can see.his reply was that EVERY bar and restaurant was bad on bar nats especially because of the rain a couple of weeks...the fact that I had the courtesy to let him know before he got more complaints and try to treat me as if this is my first rodeo really pi$$ed me off..I bartended for over 13 years and I know bar nats dont just appear out of nowhere like that...its simple as this....your business needs some deep tlc cleaning...I felt sick the rest of the day because of what I went through

We went to have a few drinks and the bartender was super awesome! He gave my niece a Shirley Temple and since I wasnt drinking he gave me a water. He was really nice and though he took a bit to get to us, he communicated why and we could tell he was busy which wasnt a problem!

This place is the most authentic Mexican I have found in Midland. No Tex Mex here, closer to what my friends moms made in new Mexico when I was a kid. The service was great, our server was delightfully sweet and attentive. I got the combo with five choices and chose the beef taco, guacamole, Chile rellano, beef enchilada and cheese quesadilla. The red sauce on the enchilada was home made from Chiles in house. The Chile rellano was made fresh and tasty. The guacamole was made just as we ordered it, bright green and fresh. The wife got the brisket tacos and they were a bit oily but overall tasty. The salsa is great and the tomatillo salsa they send with the plate is amazing. If you want Tex Mex this is not the place. If you want good, homemade Mexican this is your spot.
