The best service if received in a long time , staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the owner himself congratulated me on just passing my exam!! If you stoping by midland this is a MUST SEE place. I ordered the fried pickle spears and they were the best I ve ever had (seriously), I also ordered the chicken and waffles 10/10, my husband ordered the potato and bacon breakfast burrito and COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN !!! We will make it a point to stop here anytime we are in town in the future

Very friendly staff and fast service. I went on a Saturday and ordered to-go. The brisket on the meat plate was fantastic. Tender, juicy, and with a great smoke ring and crust. The loaded brisket fries were good too and they packed all the toppings on the side so it wouldn t get soggy on my drive home. Good, basic cheeseburger for my kiddo for $3.50. Potato salad wasn t my style, but they have a huge selection of sides, so I ll try something different next time. I m happy to support a local business and for the food to be great.

If you re in Midland visiting or live here and looking for really great BBQ .you ve got to try Brown s BBQ. So good make you wanna SLAP your wife!!! LOL .but seriously, the food is EXCELLENT & cooked to order. It s fresh and hot when it s brought to your table. The portions/plates will fill you up. Great smoke flavor on the meat. Stopped here for a quick lunch. Nice atmosphere, everyone was friendly. More vegetarian/vegan options than anyone in town. I am not from here but have been living in odessa/midland for the last 5 years and it has been so difficult to find vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurants. Ultimately I prefer to eat no animal byproducts (besides eggs), I rarely make an acception for dairy. I was informed the fried pickles had dairy in the batter and their ranch has dairy. I know it is expensive, but I wonder if they are aware of Primal Kitchen sauce products which offer vegan options for ranch, mayo, etc. Before our meal we shared an order of the fried pickles, which were the best Ive ever had. My husband got the chicken and waffles; the chicken was of good quality, the waffle was fluffy and yummy. He enjoyed both. I got the vegan fajita with gardein chicken, the toasted tortilla was perfect, and the burrito overall was awesome. It was so refreshing to get to eat out and have something of quality without the stress I experience almost everywhere we go. Thank you so much for the experience and offering food items I have only been able to eat at home for a very long time.

Mr.Brown is the nicest man in town the food is absolutely delicious. The brisket and the burritos are amazing. I really enjoy the train wreck burritos. They have a little bit of everything. Got brisket, beans, potatoes anything! And their vegan options are pretty good too! It s always fun going inside their ordering food and talking to Mr.Brown! I go to premier that s right by it and it s an easy grab and go. The food is also very fresh as well, some goodies made from scratch like the bbq sauce. Everything here is just amazing!

I went to Browns for lunch. This is my first time trying them and out and let me just say it won t be my last. From the first bite I knew I was going back. I mean omg. Them brisket tacos was a 10/10 and didn t stand a chance lol. If you like spicy food or spicy tacos then these are it. If you don t I would recommend holding the pepper. Try them out I promise you won t be disappointed.

I m in midland for the moment for work and I m very skeptical about trying new bbq places. Browns BBQ though! As soon as you walk in you smell amazing food and the owner is always in a good mood and interacts with his customers adding to the entire dine in experience. You can taste the quality in the food. Went in on a whim and definitely werent disappointed. The food was great. The flavour is outstanding, the brisket is butter tender. Of the sides the Queso Mac, baked beans, and bacon wrapped green beans are the bomb. The owner came out and checked on us and was extremely nice to chat with. I can t believe I haven t tried this place sooner! As a vegetarian, not only do I appreciate the vast menu of meatless items, but they are legitimately delicious! I ordered the beyond steak fajitas and a (meat eater) family member got the impossible breakfast burrito. While traveling on a business trip passing through Midland we needed a place to stop for lunch and this turned out to be a decent choice. Since we were on a schedule we needed just a light lunch. I chose a 1 meat & 2 sides, Pulled Pork, Potato Salad & Baked Beans! The meat was tender & juicy, the sides were phenomenal! Best baked beans that I could remember having and I loved the idea of serving in a small cast iron skillet! The potato salad was equally impressive. I did not care for the BBQ Sauce that came with the meal. It was an over powering vinegar taste. To be honest I didn t ask if there were other options since I enjoyed the meal as it was! Whether you live there or pass through I would recommend honing this place a try!

I walked into this establishment and was immediately greeted by very nice staff behind the counter. The place was very clean, even the kitchen looked clean as I could see it from the counter. I ordered my food and then waited for it to be ready. When they called my name, the lady behind the counter checked my order against the receipt, and when she was satisfied, everything was there she gave me my order. I ordered the sausage, brisket, potato salad, and baked beans with pickles and BBQ on the side. Once I got home, I started eating. I was immediately upset at the portion size for the price, which was just shy of $30, and I was very disappointed in the food. The brisket was dry, the sausage was bland, and the potato salad had very little flavor as well. The baked beans tasted like they came out of a can, but at least they had flavor. I had to use the BBQ sauce to smother the meat for any semblance of flavor, and to my disappointment, the BBQ sauce had a very mild flavor as well. The sauce was runny, with a slight hint of spiciness, and was on the verge of being bland. Overall, the food was edible, but thats the best I can say about it. Just like all the other BBQ restaurants in Midland I have visited, this is another disappointment.

Looked up Bbq near me in Midland...and low and behold this gem of a place came up! Mr. Brown is serving up bbq, burgers, and specialty items and sides. Had a 3 meat plate. Brisket was excellent, ribs were outstanding, and the brisket mac and cheese...was amazing! Came back two weeks later and had the best ribeye sandwich in my life! Truffle fries were added as side to the sandwich! Thus place has been in business for over 20 years and there is a reason for that. Great food and atmosphere! I would put this place up against any other bbq joint in Texas.

BBQ was reheated from a day or two ago. If it wasnt well then it was very sad meat but it tasted old and not fresh. 2 of us had brisket and agreed it was not good. I asked for moist brisket and the proprietor said it was all moist. It comes cubed not thin sliced and is in broth in a basket/bowl. Well sorry, flat is not moist even in their cardboard basket with broth. There were a couple pieces of point in there, marked difference in tenderness but day old or two day old fat is not good. I had pulled pork as labeled on the menu. Not pulled, cut in chunks and in broth as well. Both meats had bbq sauce on them, should have asked for no sauce as it didnt do anything and my preference is no sauce on brisket for sure. The baked beans were a 4.5, would eat it again. The coleslaw is way different, many may not like it. It has craisins in it and I thought it was good but would say not all will. It was very clean, a little hard to find.

Decent flavor, small portions. The meal you see in the pictures cost $31. I ordered online and left a $5 tip totaling $36. I really expected more for this cost. My 3 meat plate consisted of 4 tiny chunks of brisket(I ve never seen brisket chunked before), a very small and dry leg quarter and some sausage. The Mac and cheese seemed to be just plain pasta with cheese sauce poured on it, you can see in the pic. The sides were tiny! Three spoonfuls, and the Togo box is really small I guess to make it look bigger? Then the dessert was just barely any in the bottom, I mean just enough to cover the bottom of the box. For this cost I really expected more. Maybe because he thought it was a DoorDash order they were stingy on portions? Flavor wasn t bad overall, but it s not worth the cost. I won t be back.

Just ordered a 2 meat plate and the lady turned around and began warming the meat up on the griddle so I asked and then the owner chimes in to tell me that the meats fresh off the grill! Now Im not a Grand pit master but fresh off the grill would imply that the meat should be piping hot to the point of maybe letting it cool down to eat but not the case they had to reheat it. Not good at all! Never going back! Not recommended. I wouldnt feed it to a dead dog! Who serves brisket chunky? Its either sliced or chopped, not chunked.

Probably the best experience we have had in Midland so far! The food is amazing, but the owner is not to be matched. He takes such pride in his business and what he has built, the food that he puts out, and his customers. Everyone that walked through that door while we were there he knew and treated like family. Absolutely one of the best burgers Ive had in the past decade. Had the vegan BBQ Burger and it was delicious. My wife and I split the nachos and this burger, both were great but we fought over who would eat the burger more. Spoiler, she won. We also had the fries...perfect crisp and delicious seasoning. Walking into Browns kitchen was already a friendly environment, we were greeted rite at the door with smiles. I ate the brisket with maccqueso and beans Mac and cheese is super creamy and so good just like homemade & the beans were super fire!!! Brisket super nice and juicy mostly lean meat the flavor is super unique! The food truck tacos are fire too salsa was fresh and had a perfect spice to it. My first time experience was not so good. All I ordered was a chopped brisket sandwich. I was offered onions and pickles, and requested bbq sauce on the side. 1 sandwich was almost $10 dollars. While waiting for my order, I witness the employees eating with their fingers. No hand washing, and handing customers there orders. When I received my food. I had no onions or pickles. The bbq sauce was bland and oily. The sandwich was similar in size to big mac. Not worth the price I paid. Overall, not a good experience. Probably will not go back.

The two times Ive been here have been at the top of my eating experiences in the area! My first meal here was a brisket and potato burrito. Definitely the best brisket Ive had in a couple of decades! It was incredibly tender with the most amazing flavor. My kids loved the burgers. My initial interest in this restaurant was someones review that mentioned green chili soup. Its not on the menu at this time of year. I expressed my little sadness over that as I crave green chilies and Korean food when Im pregnant. Mr. Brown generously offered to make a custom order for me and scheduled with me for which day I could pick it up! He also made it mild for me since I cant do spicy while pregnant. I bought this as my birthday present to myself and brought it to a friend to share with. She was just as blown away as I was. Each of the ingredients in the soup retained its own flavor while meshing well with the others (potatoes, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, meat, etc.). The meat in this was phenomenally tender as well. I find that most places try to flavor everything by over salting. Not in this case! The beautiful flavor was added to with whichever herbs/spices he put in the soup. Beyond the food, the customer service was incomparable... My kids even keep commenting about how they nice Mr. Brown is. Ive missed having great food here. I told him it helped to make Midland feel more like home. Give it a try!

I wanted to like this place. I really did. But it didn t happen. Poor service, hectic at best. They weren t busy at all and still managed to delay my order. And then didn t even get it right. One order was in front of me and they received their food in 5 minutes. Mine took 20. And it wasn t like it had to be cooked on the spot. Ribs, sausage and some beans and mac and cheese. Crazy. The prices are outrageous for the amount and quality of food you receive. $2 for a can of soda?!?! That s a 300% markup. The ribs were under cooked and chewy. The sausage was tasteless. The baked beans had the taste of the tin can they came out of. The shining spot (and only reason Brown s got two stars instead of one) was the mac and cheese. Some of the best I ve ever had. But I m not in the habit of paying $24 for bad service, limp barbecue and great mac and cheese. Hard pass.

I tried this place for the first time today. It was very good. I ordered the two meat with two sides. Brisket & Chicken with bakes beans and mixed vegetables . The meat was very tender and the sides were flavourful. I will definitely be coming back. Plus the owner introduced me to vegan tacos. They cook vegan entrèes as well. The tacos tasted excellent. Came in from Houston and needed a place to eat. Found this gem and had it twice over the weekend. The food was flavorful and one of the few places that had turkey legs! My husband is Omni and I m vegan. Turns out the owners have been vegan themselves recently (for 2 and 7 years). They have an entire vegan menu and the chef is so fun and friendly! He even sent me home with some vegan BBQ sauce which was I also had the veg gardein fajitas and my daughter s tator tots were really great too. Highly recommend!!

Our regular stop when driving from AZ through Midland on the 20, it s a few miles off the freeway but worth it! Not only amazing bbq meats, but a broad menu with something for everyone. We love the brisket, and you can get it on a plate with sides or in a burrito, same with other smoked meats. The sauce is one of my favorites, peppery, tangy, and not too thick or sweet, a perfect accent to all the meats. Great side choices too, all high quality and homemade, we get the baked beans (with chunks of smoked sausage), mac n cheese, potato salad, and the dry slaw ... I love that it isnt creamy but light and sweet with cranberries, pineapple, seeds, and fresh cabbage. They also have breakfast, burgers, nachos, even a vegan bbq menu. The Browns are there to welcome, and it s obvious how connected they are in the community by not only the decorations but how they greet their customers and support local teams and groups. They even remembered us from our visit last summer! Can t wait to go back!

We had a one meat plate with brisket, a couple burgers, and a train wreck burrito. The brisket was very good. The BBQ sauce was just right. The beans had a little bit of sweet flavor. The cheeseburgers were pretty good but the brisket was better. Now, the unexpected treat was the train wreck burrito. It has every meat with beans and a little BBQ sauce. Wow. That burrito got my attention. It was a bit messy but then all good BBQ is a bit. The flavor of that burrito was really something. I would recommend the whole menu. Very distinctive. It costs a little more but all BBQ is. But that train wreck burrito was only a dollar! Meat is expensive! You want to try some good BBQ then try out Browns. They have breakfast burritos as well. Let me tell you if you are a vegan this place is a hidden gem. They even clean the grills so no cross contamination. We ordered a few things to share.. The combo burrito everything was cooked to perfection. I loved the green salsa. We enjoyed the hotdog and burger. Both had cooked grilled veggies. Vegan mayo and cheese yes! Thank YOU! Working in midland from New Orleans i decided to venture out from the traditional fast food lunch while working out of town, let me just say i was absolutely blown away. Firstly I m vegan, and that is a very difficult cuisine to find in this area. Browns BBQ offers more than one vegan dish, and I went with the impossible burger. I have had beyond burgers before but never the impossible. When I opened the paper I freaked out because it looked just like beef, even on the inside! I called and spoke to the owner who not only assured me I was NOT eating beef but went a step further and sent me pictures of the impossible burger mixture before he cooks it and still it looked like raw beef! He was so gracious and patient with my disbelief and offered to make two different burgers just to show me the difference which was so cool that I will definitely be back. We didn t do the extra burgers and I ate mine which was so close to the texture and flavor of beef but not that I m sure any meat eater would dig it as well. Lastly he called back to ask what I thought, so cool! He just made a customer for life! Eat here, and give him business because he has something really special here.

My sister & I drove a little over 2 hours to try this place and it did not disappoint! Not 2 or 3 vegan options, but over 10!! The people who own this place have huge hearts and truly pay attention to the details. We were told/actually showed without asking what kind of bread was used before using it and if we wanted oil or water for soaking and to me that shows they really care about the customer not just the dollar. Amazing. The coleslaw was like nothing i have ever had. Before i ate it I just looked at it cuz it was so beautiful. I got the tuna medium rare and fried catfish. Been eating his BBQ for about 10 years or so now. Its been a great experience every time. I would always see his food truck and I would have stop and get some delicious food. Now I always know where I can get some. I went in on a Saturday evening and they werent busy at all. It looked like it was just Mr Brown and the lady working the front counter. I received a very nice greeting from Mr Brown and he went to the kitchen to start making my order. Even though his name is on the door you can still catch him in the back making food. The kitchen is very open. No secrets here. I got my food to go and of course received a very friendly goodbye. Will definitely be making the drive from Odessa for the food more often.
