The fish was okay. The batter didnt stay on and was a bit salty. Their homemade tartar sauces were delicious. They make the fish better overall. The shrimp werent that bad. I had to wait a long time for the food. The ladies at the register were very welcoming and made me feel at home.

I guess for the location it s ok. But my expectations were higher than what was given. The wait time even with you staring right at the food was very long. And then when you get it, it s not fresh. In fact my food was cold and dry. I ordered a kool aid and it tasted more like that syrup for a snow cone it was so sweet. The salt on my greens had me seeing double. I brought it home to amp up all of those canned greens, and sweet potatoes and tried to make it work. My suggestion to this restaurant is to actually taste what you serve.

Its no excuse to have a bad attitude when we come to get food they dont speak either and will leave you at the counter and no one greets. Then I find out that they charge you a additional 50 cent if you use your bank card but they tell you that until they ring you up. Its sad when youre trying to support black business. Ordered catfish nuggets and asked for my fries extra crispy. My fries were soggy. Also they gave me 2 sliced peppers for the whole basket. I called them to ask about it and the lady was rude. When I walked inside of the establishment it reminded me of a warehouse. Don t expect your food to be done how you asked and don t expect enough peppers for 12 nuggets. Don t expect to eat inside either. It s not a vibe.

I stopped in one evening to place an order,and after waiting in the drive thru, behind a car for about 10 mins, I was told that they were closed. The hours posted said that they closed at 9pm. It was 8:25pm. The food is always great, but the hours should be accurately reflected. I was disappointed, to say the least.

Seems like they don t know how to be anything but rude..it s a shame because their food is pretty good. However, every time I go there the lady (I assume the owner) is already in a bad mood and very short with me..However, I believe that is partially due to me and my wife not matching. I usually overlook the attitude, but today I rang the bell 3 times at the drive up window and sat there 13 minutes without an acknowledgment. Several people looked at me and kept walking by without even a finger up to say 1 minute. I try not to write negative reviews, but today got under my skin.

Im new to the Texas and the Mesquite area. I was taken back that you can only get soul food on Sundays which is a bummer. I have lived in Boston, Atl, Miss, Tennessee and now here and i never experienced such a thing lol. Sunday Morning Catfish is a good spot I dp enjoy the soul food Sundays They have a list for the month of what will ne served on a regular day you can get anything from fried fish and chicken to gizzards and link sandwiches. The customer service has always been good especially from the lady on Sunday one Sunday it was supposed to snow and they were about to closes bt she still took out order and gave us something extra. It was very very nice of her. I would recommend trying them!

Fish was fried to perfection and fresh. The wings were very salty. I spent $78. It took over an hour to get the food. I called in my order and still had to wait for my food. I stood at the register for 5 minutes and was not acknowledged by an employee. There were 5 visible employees behind the counter and I had to stop one of them to get acknowledged. It was very disorganized. With better organization and customer service skills this restaurant can definitely thrive .

I can not stop wanting to eat here. The fish is absolutely the bomb and worth the drive. Had pork chop sandwich so good! Kool aid pickles all of the delicious. I have one request/advice, if you open one in Richardson/Plano you Will triple what you make here. The filets were fullsize not cut in half and charge full price like most of these restaurants are doing. You gotta go!

After driving by this place for years, Hubby and I dropped by for lunch to finally try it. Its in an older building which doesnt do much for the eyes, but they maintain a clean facility. I actually thought they were closed. It is a family owned business, he states theyve been serving the community for 5 yrs. We both ordered the 2 filet fish basket, which comes with (fries, toast, pickles & jalapenos)and a small Kool aid. The Kool aid came with a warning Becareful because its sweet. We decided to try our luck with the Kool aid, so we ordered the small to be on the safe side. The gentleman who took our order was very welcoming and helpful. He said they drop the orders as they go, so our meal will only take a few minutes and they make their own tartar sauce (regular/spicy). The dining area is open, so we decided to dine in and he brought our food out to us when it was ready. OMG both hubby and I were pleasantly surprised by how well seasoned everything was, the portion size, and it was straight outta the fryer hot. The Kool aid was sweet/amazing (tropical & blue raspberry). It was a time machine to my childhood that made me want more. Dang I should have got the large Everything was delicious Im glad we finally stopped by and we will definitely be back to try more and for their Sunday menu, which according to the gentleman is always different. Very friendly staff and cool vibes. We loved listening to the R&B music as we ate. They also, have a foosball/ pool table to enjoy at your leisure and they sell Kool aid pickles/cakes. Youve got to come try it $5.00 minimum order & .50 cent service charge if you pay with a credit card. Sunday, March 5, 2023- Hubby and I went back for Soul food Sunday. The menu is different every Sunday. You also have the option to call in your order or order thru the drive-thru. They were pretty busy, but we didnt have to wait long for our food. I had the ribs w/broccoli cheese casserole, green beans and hubby had the turkey wings w/dressing and greens. This time I got the large Kool aid. Our food was delish and well seasoned. The meat was falling off the bone and tender. My cornbread was dry and my green beans were canned, but they were still good. We will definitely be back to try more menu items. Friday, March 17-Everything was delicious and the portion sizes are good for the price. The kool-aid wasnt tasting quit right, so I had the sweet tea instead. The staff is very polite. Sept. 20, 2023- The catfish is the bomb! You cant go wrong with the catfish. I called ahead and picked up my food in the drive thru Tuesday, Feb.20,2024-Picked up dinner for me and the hubby. The food was AMAZING it was made to order I over ordered on the catfish fillets assuming this restaurant was like every other where the fillets are cut in half and is deemed as two boy was I wrong. The kool-aid was a bit too sweet to my liking but adding a little water to the cup aint never hurt nobody. My family places orders at Sunday Morning frequently. We love the food and service. Unfortunately, tonight was not a regular visit. I placed an order this evening and was told to come pick it up in 15 minutes. I arrived and was told that I did not place an order and that they were closed. Also, I was told that I could not have placed an order because the phone was shut off at the time I ordered. Not possible. I spoke to someone and had my order confirmed over the phone. Just call back, apologize, and tell me that unfortunately my order is cancelled instead of having drive to the location and lie about my placing an order.

OMG this food was so good to me. We went on this past Sunday. My family and I will most definitely be back. That Banana Pudding tho! Kool -Aid pickles! I had the Watermelon . It is worth every bite as you can see in the photos below. Nice family place to eat at when you get out of church or to chill with good vibes. I have mixed emotions about this place. Ive done take out here a few times and its a hit or miss. But first i will start with the customer service.. when the older ladies are at the window they are very nice and welcoming. But the last 2 times i went they had a girl at the window (i assume she is a teenager) she was VERY rude. Couldnt put her phone down to take my order correctly. As i was telling her what i wanted she kept getting an attitude with me because she didnt know the numbers on the menu. When ordering the FILLETS you have to be specific because they have Catfish & Tilapia. i dont eat Tilapia. She still got my order wrong. Now with the food.. the fried food is delicious and the shrimp comes with their homemade tartar sauce that i LOVE! BUT the burgers are TRASH.... The patty was HUGE like a Mondo burger and bland as ever. The place has alot of potential tho. Oh and call ahead or you will be waiting a hour to get your food.

Had taste for some catfish nuggets and found the place on the internet, went Dec. 22nd. Try this place today for the first time my brother and I order a pork chop basket and fish nugget basket both came with fries pickles jalapeños and toast this place is amazing food was seasoned very well the pork chop basket came with two huge pork chops i was amazed on the portions i also got the peach mango pickle which was great!!!! Would recommend this place to any and everyone one thing the young lady who handed my food was not friendly no smile no hello no nothing however the guy who took my payment was very very nice and saved the day for me to keep coming back customer service goes a long way

The young lady answering the phone was super rude. She hung up the phone too quick b4 I completed my order. Then I got home and the order was not correct. When I called back she was still rude and did not apologize. I really try to support my local black businesses, but this is why it s difficult for us to stay in business. I was very disappointed with the service and food. I do not recommend eating and supporting this business. I m a business owner in Mesquite Texas myself for the last 20 yrs., and this is unacceptable. I hope the owners find this review and let the young lady know it s not right to treat customers that way, after all one customer pays one hour of her pay. So disheartening to see another business go down.

What once seems to be an old Dairy Queen location ,I passed and wondered this for many years. My cousin,mother,and I visited this place and gave it a try. They renovated the former Dairy Queen site but if youre familiar with Dairy Queens typical Floorplan of the past 40 years,theres room for more improvements! The floor was uneven so watch your step if youre handicapped like me. I like soda but I didnt like that there was no fountain drinks machine, just a broken vending machine...... The catfish nuggets were good and Im glad I didnt experience any digestive issues later on!

Went there to get my step dad a pork chop basket because we didnt have time to get home to prepare dinner before he went in for work. The service was good and the food was ready in a timely matter and the prices were amazing,I thought it would cost more than what it was but it wasnt and he said there taste was amazing Parking: The parking in the front of the building facing pioneer road has about 4 or 5 spots not sure what the side or back is like next time Im out and about I will make sure I post that info along with photos

Man when I tell you this chicken wing basket was on point!!! Someone from my job chose this place and I didn t think it was going to be very good.. I thought the reviews were fake lol This is my very first time visiting and OMG! The food was hot and fresh and seasoned to the T! Keep in mind the quantity of food because you get your moneys worth! I had a 6 wing basket and fish nugget basket( so much food I couldn t eat it lol) and I will definitely be back to try different things on the menu!

I was told by a friend that this place was good .I have went there at different times and the food was fresh and good..however today the nuggets was over cooked or may have been there for a while the bread was full of butter or grease and the fries wasnt fresh ..I guess you have to go on the right days at the right time to get quality service $ 13.99 smh ..

I should have known to just walk back out the door once I seen the inside of the establishment as well as the young lady behind the counter wearing her sleeping bonnet while taking orders. Ordered four catfish meals, the fish was soggy and tasteless, some of my fries were still hard, as In not cooked all the way! Ordered an order of hush puppies which they charge 3 dollars for 5, ended up with 3 guess someone figured we didn t need the 5 we paid for! My first and definitely the last time I would frequent this establishment. To say I m disappointed in an understatement.

Update Have since been several times and everytime has been great customer service and its legit the best Catfish Ive had. Would of been a 5 star rating bc the food is pretty good! However, being my first time going I didnt realize that the pickles were inside the box. The lady ripped my bag all the way open where all my condiments were falling out and didnt replace the bag. She was condescending about the whole thing. Nonetheless I still left a tip on my to go order and will try again. The cat fish is really good. It doesnt have that dirt taste in the fish. Portion sizes are good and lots of condiments.

Waited over an hour for my meal. I had ordered a fish nugget salad and never even received it. I had to drive back up there because for 1) they didn t answer their phone and 2) they gave me a wrong order. When it was all said and done, I was more irritated than hungry!!! The food was ok but definitely NOT worth the wait or the hassle!! I will not be coming back after my experience today. Nothing was offered or even acknowledged, not even a simple, I m sorry. Not worth the money or TIME!

Would add a photo but couldnt stop eating it to take one. Co workers would come back from lunch with these great plates of catfish. Reminded me of home. We had a chance to try it today for work lunch..., let me just start off by saying this was the best catfish since grandparents back home in Mississippi!! The burgers are huge and good also. Hands down the best fish I have had in a long time! Thank you ladies you 2 were absolutely amazing, helpful and have great smile to top it off! Will be back for sure!!! Betty PS: Would like their tartar sauce recipe also!! Kid-friendliness: They have a fussball table along with a pool table to play while you are visiting! Kool aid also goes great with any of the meals you choose!

Omg what a Pearl we happened upon!! The catfish nuggets were tasty and the tarter sauce is unreal!! Don t forget your slice of banana pecan cake or Italian cream cake!! My only suggestion for this Pearl is to make fresh lemon a choice to squeeze on those tasty nuggets!!

Got a bacon cheeseburger like I always do. This time the meal is horrible looking. Forgot to put my lettuce, tomato and mayo on my sandwich. The burger also have no taste. I dont know if they changed but this burger is also dry. On top of that I got two top buns for my cheeseburger. Im so disappointed waste of my money this time.

I am from Houston, and I wanted some Catfish, and after the first bite, I realized it wasnt real catfish. It was some imitation!!! The pork chops and shrimp my husband had were full of flavor. If you know your catfish, dont go here for that. Now, if you want corn nuggets, pork chop, and fresh shrimp, I recommend this place. But Catfish lovers know that you have been Warned!!! I am heading back to the Gulf Coast area to get some Catfish!
