Nothing brilliantly special about the hotel itself. It is a little older and about what you would expect overall. The big standout was the service. Everyone was super friendly and happy to help out a guest, even one needing a bottle opener after the bar had closed for the night. From the front desk to the Starbucks/bar to the gentleman placing towels by the pool and the lady who helped me check out in the morning, thanks for being the smiling faces during my stay; you made me feel truly welcomed.

The staff are pleasant, except for the person who works at night. The rooms are good, when one considers the age of the building. There is no free breakfast, but there are plenty of eateries nearby. However, if you are not a POC, then there is a considerable chance that you will be accosted, at least asked for money. Don t walk anywhere if you don t want this to happen. There is also a very considerable chance that your car will be broken into. The price doesn t reflect the entirety of the experience, merely the hotel itself. Without a breakfast, or any form of security, this isn t worth the money. Safety: Do NOT take a shortcut through the neighboring apartments or neighborhoods. You may have to work on your cardio first. Walkability: There are plenty of places, but the people in these places are less than desirable.

I reserved a room with a king bed and a couch and got a room with a king bed and a small chair. The TV was small and outdated. I had to move the coffee maker to the sink because it wasnt plugged in and I couldnt get behind the desk/cabinet to plug it it. There was what appeared to be black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and it seemed like my deadbolt didnt fully engage when I locked it. There is no breakfast included. I did not utilize the pool or the gym. The elevator smelled like electrical burning at one point. Breakfast is not included, but the door have a starbucks and a bar in the lobby. The staff was friendly and kind. There were restaurants and stores within a close drive. There is a lot of construction on the freeway in front of the hotel. I did feel safe in the area. I would have complained about my room not matching my reservation, but it was just me.

Morning and weekend staff (the Irish guy) are very friendly. The cleaning crew are nice but most of the front desk people are as rude as it gets.

This room was originally supposed to be appx 130.00. When we checked in, he told us that the total was 185.00 and 20.00 will be refunded after check-out. It was almost midnight and we had just flew back in from a LONG international flight so I was just ready to bath and go to sleep. When we walked in, it was 2 rooms with the door in between open. They probably wanted to give the impression of a suite but they missed the mark BIG TIME! The sprinklers on the walls were rusted, the wall paper in the bathroom was peeling off the wall, it had dead bugs in the bathroom floor, there was stray hair all over the bed and pillows, the sofa was filthy, and its so dim, that I wouldnt have seen any of it, I didnt use my cell phone light. It was dark as hell in there and that was AFTER we turned on all of the lights. When we checked in, the young man was nice, but he didnt tell us about breakfast, check-out time, etc. When we checked out the next morning, there was a homeless guy in the lobby, and the area looked very very rough and thats putting it nicely. I dont mind paying any amount for a room, but if it was free, it still would have been too expensive! Never again! Food and drinks: Olive Garden, Hooters, Raising Canes, etc are all directly behind hotel.

Everything to do with the hotel itself was great! The only inconvenience is all the construction they are doing on the interstate right in front of the hotel. We were literally going 4 miles away and with all the detours it took us around 20 minutes to get there. Nearby activities: There is a Celebration Station right behind the hotel, it literally shares the same parking lot. Great location for family fun!

Not worthy of the Marriott name at all. Cold showers, children working the front desk that could not be bothered to get off of their phones to help - Absolutely terrible service and a dirty room. The first sign should have been the 20 minute wait at the front desk to check in. There was literally nobody in sight until this young man came in for his shift and realized we had not yet been helped. Shawn (or Sean? Shaun?) was the only good thing we encountered at this hotel. Very accommodating and apologetic for the series of events that happened upon check in. Though I think this was a sign. It was late by the time we checked in and got in to the room - it had a musty smell. The room itself was quite old, which is no big deal, but it was also very dirty. Even my children commented on how gross it was - and they hate to shower and clean. There was a stain, which may or may not have been blood, on the beds. Also found some black mold on the bathroom ceiling - Yum! We were going to attempt to switch hotels, but it was difficult to work out a new hotel with the last minute reservation as well as the way the points were booked. The hotel was willing to work with us, but it would have been complicated working with Marriott to book a different stay because we booked with points/rewards. In hindsight, we should have left. The next night, the shower would not get warm, and could continued to get progressively colder as the rest of the family showered. Have you ever tired getting kids who hate to shower in a cold Shower? I hope you never do - I would rather shower a cat. A couple nights later, we went to shower and it was the same thing with cold water. I attempted to call the front desk multiple times, but the calls went unanswered. I decided it best to walk down to the front desk myself - no body there for a few minutes. Finally, I hear some noises from the door labeled employees only , so I say Hello loudly. A younger person, who I could not describe as gentleman, slithers out from the room in shorts and a t-shirt , barely able to look up from his phone. I asked about the water and the said oh yeah, I have been having to reset it a lot today . Which I can only assume indicates an issue with the boiler system. Subsequently, I went to look at other reviews of this particular hotel and found that this issue has been going on for 5 months, if not more. What the actual f@&$?!?! I am not just disappointed, but utterly disgusted at this hotel. As a Marriott Titanium member who stays in hotels over 200 nights out of the year, I am considering staying with other completing brands if this is even allowed to be a standard with which Marriott allows their hotels to be. Hopeful that Marriott Bonvoy services will do something to make good upon my poor experience, but if nothing else, I hope this review saves others from staying here. I d recommend the Motel 6 instead.

A little difficult to get to from the highway, but easy and close to get back on the highway. Staff was friendly. If in the area again would probably skip this hotel and try the Fairfield close by.

I picked this place because when booking through my company, it offered me a State Fair Package that included breakfast at the Bistro (restaurant area downstairs in the lobby). When checking in, I asked how that worked and the lady at the front desk informed me that they dont honor stuff like that. So why make it available to companies then?! Ok fine, but breakfast is heavily overpriced! There isnt even a complimentary coffee bar. Your only option is to buy Starbucks that they offer down in the Bistro, or to use the small coffee maker they make available to you in your room. Which I normally use because I bring my own instant coffee with me just in case I dont like the coffee the hotel offers. However, when making hot water this morning, they were weird nasty black bits in it that I swear looked like roaches. I just cant even. To make things worse, my sheets were gross on one side of the bed. I didnt notice until late last night and instead of causing a ruckus, I just slept on top of the blankets. The customer service was exceptional and I didnt have problems with any employee. However, for the price of the hotel, some things need to change. I will never be back to this location. I should have stayed at Hilton or La Quinta like I normally do, I only stayed here because I thought I was getting a deal. There are lots of nearby restaurants which was a good thing.

Giving an overall rating of 2 just because on my second night there was a dripping of yellow water from the vent above the toilet Front desk was great but I was unable to change rooms bc everything else was booked. Maintenance came and was super nice and helpful. They honestly did all they could do. They found out what the issue was (guests above filled their bathroom floor with water) but still was some dripping for a while and they couldn t help that I blame the structure of this old hotel. I m giving it a 2 star rating bc it s so old, owners really need to put more money into updating the building piping and all that. It s embarrassing. Appreciate the staff and if it wasn t for them the rating would be 0 bc that s nasty.

Rooms: They look beautiful HOWEVER I have a room on the first floor and I had this horrible and strong mildew smell I have that they are aware of. I asked them to help with it and they only thing they did was tell me it only gets like this when it rains and sprayed my room with a strong air freshener (that only works for like 10-20 minutes) . Theyre aware of the problem and only gave me a surface level solution. Its gotten to the point that all of my clothes are stained with the smell and now Im self conscious about my hygiene because its a borderline musty smell and it makes me SMELL BAD. Im supposed to stay here for the next three months and I dont think Ill manage well EDIT: I was able to speak with a manager who was kind enough to work with me to get another room while they treat the room I was in. Im grateful for them being patient with me and going out of their way to accommodate me to find a resolution that helps me and solves the problem. For more than 20 years I have chosen the Courtyard in Mesquite when I come to Dallas - because I feel comfortable there, even if the rooms could perhaps use an update now: they are clean and tidy, but they are not (anymore) modern. . The biggest plus here is not the rooms, but the staff: warm, friendly, personal. Staying in a hotel is a bit like coming home! Thanks to the whole team for this! Rooms: Large, bright, many rooms with a mini balcony and everything you need: desk, couch, TV, coffee maker, fridge,... everything is there and in good condition. However, the style is from around 20 years ago - you shouldnt expect anything extremely modern. Nearby activities: Right next door is the Celebration Station with a smorgasbord of possible leisure activities. Walkability: Even if this is not typically American: if you want, you can easily reach about 5-10 different restaurants that are behind the hotel on foot, as well as two or three supermarkets that are about 10 minutes away. Food and drinks: The bistro in the hotel is only open in the morning and evening and only offers a very limited selection, but this is absolutely not a problem because of the many restaurants behind the hotel. But what is on offer tastes really delicious... and here too the staff enhances the offer enormously: very friendly, helpful and attentive! After a long day, I like to sit there when Im still hungry but dont feel like going anywhere.

The front desk employee look like someone who works at a club not at a hotel very unprofessional and ungroomed. Forgot his name but hes an African American male. Chewing gum while assisting guests. Kept on sitting down on the stool behind the front desk which is unprofessional. Prices are uncalled for too. Had stayed here in the past but not again I walked out.

One night stay. Front desk staff were very personable. Had a little mix up about reservation, they attempted to send us to another Marriott when our reservation was for this one. Anyhoo, we received our room upgrade and we were very pleased with the comfortable bed and soft linens.

It is very unfortunate to being treated with disrespect by the front desk guy on Saturday Jan 15, 2022. We arrived at the lobby to have a coffee and use the space for a while for a work. We were asked by the front desk person multiple times how long we will be staying and what time we will be leaving. As customers to Courtyard Marriott who have used the service over many states - it is sicknening to be received with that level unwelcoming attitude and as if we are a treat. If you havent trained your staff how they should approach guests then this is a time to rethink about it because this is the worst of the worst experience a customer can have for a well reputed hotel chain.

Skip this hotel unless you want CAT burglars to steal your CAT converter. Be my guest. Note: Park closed to the hotel lobby and close to the surrounding vehicles. Cons I stay at this hotel for 3 months. It is the worst location. The surrounding neighborhood/areas were very sketchy. I m one of the resident who had their catalytic converters stolen. No camera capturing the parking lot. You park at your own risk. Bugs: water bugs and fruit flies are the main problems. Water bugs may have enter my room through the sewer pipe line. My window is always closed. Fruit flies may entered through the restroom vent. My allergies were not letting me live comfortably. According to my allergy skin test, I have 30+ objects/substances/particles (cockroaches and water bugs) are of them). Coming out of the elevator on your left side view, vibration of my room which is on the 4th floor (400 412), is coming from the laundry which the maintenance used to clean the towels etc. Usually occurred around 10:30 AM to 2-3 PM. Good luck taking a nap around that time. Noises from other residents occurred a lot during Friday and weekend. These people don t sleep. Pros The receptionists are attentive. They re all great. Jacob stands out the most who went above and beyond for his customer service. Maid service: Sometime not everything gets cleaned. They ll vacuum what they can reach assuming your belongings blocked the area. Amenities: BBQ grill shared. Gym, always clean the workout area before workout. I never use the pool during my stay.

Made reservations through price line/booking.com it was flight and 4 nite, 5 day stay. We travelled over 1,000 miles for them to say they couldnt find our reservation, even though I had a confirmation number and had already paid they still tried to charge me 100$ per night as a courtesy. What bull, we had already paid. The manager wasnt budging until I threatened a lawsuit. It took 3 hrs to get a room that was already paid for. For a 4.2 star hotel this is ridiculous and I will never stay at a Marriott hotel again.

I spent two nights in this location and this was dissapointed. There was no soap in any of the rooms so be sure to pack soap if you decide to stay in this building. I called front desk and they said they dont have soap and that we would have to use the body soap that was provided in the shower. There also was not any tea or coffee provided at the lobby, coming from a Marriot that was rather surprising, we dont expect any luxury but to not even have some tea bags was shocking. You had to pay for them at the cafe.

Weed and mildew. First night, callous concern for my complaint about the mold smell in my room. I was told that they would send a note to the manager. Not sure if that ever happened because there was no follow-up action. Second night the room smells like marijuana and there s a huge fan in the hallway. They told my parents that it was because someone was smoking but their room also smelled like mildew. Woke up to find out that my parents cut their stay short because mom broke out in hives and there was ZERO concern from the front desk about the issue. We come to this area frequently but never again will we stay at Courtyard Marriott in Mesquite.

Such a great hotel for a decent price! Their bistro is awesome and has vegetarian options. Its right next to the intersection of 30 and 635 so Garland and Dallas are easily accessible. If I wanted toiletries or anything, no problem. Theyll hang it in a nice bag on your door. Contact less checkout was cool and check in was very easy too. Yes, you have to wear a mask unless youre eating. The beds are very comfortable, room can get pitch black at night if you want it to be, and they have a fridge and drawers for your clothes to make things easier for a long stay. Plenty of hangers in the closet with an iron and ironing board. I was very pleased with my stay and will be returning to this location next time I come to town.

If I could give this hotel 10 stars, I would! My company needed lodging during ice storms Uri and Viola. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating while being gracious, courteous, and going above and beyond to provide customer care during severe cold and power outages. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and again, BEST STAFF EVER! Lavita, Angie, Taylor, and Michelle were on the front lines while we were tracking snow, ice, mud, etc into the front lobby and they never complained once. I had numerous employees compliment their dedication and attitude during an extremely difficult time. I will be forever a fan of THIS hotel.
