We loved the venue, it was a blank canvas that we were able to turn into our own vision for our wedding day. However, the communication with the venue was slow, disorganized, and frustrating. We were disappointed that the preferred vendors were subject to a 21% fee, even if we had a credit with them. If you go with Aristide as your venue, we highly recommend an outside wedding planner, or at least a month-of-coordinator. We do not know how we would have been able to have our wedding here without our planner.

We recently had our grand Indian baby shower at this location. We had about 150 people, had to do outside catering because it was an Indian baby shower so of course Indian food! Our coordinator was Sydnee. She was quick to reply and just made everything very easy and comfortable for us! We would make last minute appointment with her to discuss the event or take a tour of the place and she would somehow shift her schedule to meet ours! At the day of our event, she showed up extra early to help me set up my centerpieces and made sure everything looked perfect. She even made sure we had plenty of help at the end of the day event to help us clean up everything. She truly went above and beyond. The location is very nice and the building is very new. Interesting. Its purpose is to be a wedding/reception venue only. It s a mock up of a church. No slats in the pews for hymnals or bibles. Dramatic chandeliers above. Woodwork for a choir balcony but no actually balcony. Comfiest pews I ve ever sat in. Felt like I was backstage and on stage at the same time. Don t know what to make of all that The acoustics were poor in part because there was nothing for the sounds to be absorbed by that s usually in a chapel, like tapestries or rugs, or anything. As a wedding guest, I enjoyed the cocktail hour and reception being a walk around to the back. Well planned. The bar tender was efficient and experienced. Needed places to put down drinks and hors doeuvres.

I would highly recommend Walter Weddings plan your event/wedding! We get married in a couple weeks and the process has been so stress-free. We picked this venue because of the All-Inclusive packaging offers and not having to shop around for all our vendors and have been so happy with the services included. Emily our wedding planner has been absolutely FABULOUS, helping me navigate all the decisions from start to finish. All the vendors we used through them (florals, bakery, catering, Suits, photography) have been very easy to work with and I m really excited to see the finished product in a few weeks. Would highly recommend booking with Walter Weddings if you want an easy wedding planning process!

I ve reached out to the venue twice since my wedding and haven t even heard back. Some of the issues we had: Mirror was broken/missing in bridal suite, made getting ready more crowded. Day of coordinator- Had an attitude anytime we asked for her help. Made several comments about not knowing where things were (entrances/correct doors/flow) because she was new and getting used to the venue. Which is fine but more training/not being left solo yet so she was more comfortable might have made her mood better? The rehearsal practice was a disaster and she confused everyone but she was sweet pulled me to the side and apologized so I thought maybe was just an off day and was not super worried! Day of wedding it started weird and just went downhill. Upon arrival I noticed our napkins were inside out. At first she seemed happy to fix them, then seemed irritated like she didn t think anything was wrong. Yes it was fixed but I wish I didn t have to be the one to ask for it to be corrected. We asked for water and were told she would bring it later with mimosas, she did bring the mimosas earlier but not sure why we couldn t have water first? Most of the time I needed something we had to track her down. We had a guest text us during our after ceremony pictures, we didn t see it for 45 mins. They didn t see their names on our seating chart, after talking to many guests we now think the chart from the night before event was left out causing confusion! They asked for help and were told something along the lines of I m sorry you can wait out here and if someone gets up or doesn t show up you can have their seat Why they didn t come get us/offer to get them a chair made no sense? When I asked her about the guest table confusion she immediately got super defensive and then seemed super annoyed with me the rest of the night. Florals- My floral contract was the most frustrating thing. I feel like we were charged for things we should not have been especially since things weren t even used. The contract is deceptive and I wanted a price breakdown in writing and got a phone call with 1/2 given prices. If I m requesting an itemized bill not sure why I couldn t have one. The contract I signed for was not what was given. Changing the contract from centerpieces/alter decor/cake floral/my bouquet to $1,600 credit WITHOUT informing us felt dishonest. Our floral vendor changed 1/2 way into planning without ever being told? We started getting new emails in the middle of planning and had to go through most of the design process again. A lot of time wasted then having to redo everything without ever being warned. Biggest issue was Wedding day- Pew markers were moved by my family and not staff in the middle of our reception? When we did our entrances into the reception there were just 12 empty vases on the head table which was a chunk of what we paid extra to have pew markers in. Bakery- I have documentation where I tried to reach out to them by email/phone months before my wedding with no response. I emailed venue who said they would reach out to them. Still never heard from this vendor until I requested a tasting in December 2022 (a year later). I got an apology saying they are sorry I never received my welcome info email. Then the next day an email telling me I was behind and should have picked my cake by now? Hard to pick your cake if you can t get a response for months. Finally day of, cakes tasted NOTHING like the tasting box we had. They were so tart and dense, not consistent at all. I m all for staff getting out as early as possible. But to have dirty dishes piled on dirty rolling carts in the back of all my friends/families personally taken photos is pretty disappointing! Again I m all for staff cleaning up during the event but wish they would have bussed like normal and carried what they could to the back each trip. I am more annoyed after the fact because 2 people at the venue knew of these frustrations so I wish the venue would have taken initiative to reach out. They never did and didn t even respond to me reaching out!

Aristide hosted my wedding reception and overall it turned out beautiful and I wouldn t change a thing! The reason I am giving two stars is to warn any potential clients about the all-inclusive vendor packages that are offered for weddings. At face value, these seem like an amazing deal, and the majority of the vendors I worked with were great. However, Aristide will fail to mention to you that there will be a required 21% service fee added to any extras you request from the vendors. Being that the all-inclusive package includes basically the bare minimum, I had several things I wanted to add. For example, the included photography only includes 8 hours of photos. To add an extra hour or two, you will have to pay the photographer s fee PLUS 21%, which I assume just goes back to the venue. I asked about this fee several times and was told it goes to the catering staff and bartenders who help make your day possible. However, they will still ask you if they can put a tip jar out on the bar. I m all for tipping when needed, but I do feel like Walters Weddings is not upfront with what you are actually agreeing to, and they trap you into a contract where you have no other option but to pay these service fees, which are extremely high. The other reason for my 2 stars is that I was told by several guests that the bar staff was extremely rude and had a negative attitude. You would think with the 50k we spent on this reception that Aristide would actually hire staff that can be kind for the four hours they are working. Overall, the coordinators and people I worked with in the beginning were extremely helpful and kind, and were able to help me through this process. I just want to warn any other brides out there to read the fine print and to be sure you know what you are signing to.

Good afternoon Rebecca and I appreciate your follow up so quickly and my intentions are to do another email especially about the exemplary service that I have received from Walters wedding Estates especially Amanda. Through this very challenging time with the wedding being canceled by the groom it was amazing that we were able to still recoup some of the food and services for my daughters masters degree party that we had on Saturday. Amanda was very caring and went out of her way to keep in touch and I can only say that the service that she gave us was over and above. She is an amazing employee and I enjoyed working with her. I am in the hospitality industry and have been in for over 40 years and she is a jewel. I also wanna to share that the food was amazing and almost 80 guest attended and kept replying who is your caterer and I could only share with them it was Walters Estates. Your vendors are amazing also Lizzie bees produced the most beautiful flower arrangements and I could only imagine the job that she and her team would have performed for my daughters wedding if it would have not been canceled. Also Jenny Lane s bakery she was amazing to work with and produced a beautiful cake that fit the theme for her graduation along with the dessert bar. And the cake was some of the best I have tasted. I got engaged in 2020. We secured the venue a few months later for a 2022 wedding. Overall, we really liked the service we received from the Aristide Mckinney. This venue worked with us every step of the way. We received great service and attention to our wishes. All of the preparations leading up to the wedding went well. We even got an opportunity to take our engagement photos at the Mansfield location since our other plans did not work. The estate was nice and clean. The bridal suite was a bit warm in temperature but everything else was on point. The staff was very attentive. There was a mix up with the venue scheduling a wedding rehearsal of another couple during our reserved time. This was quite unnerving and frustrating. They did do all they could to make sure everything else was on point. We did feel accommodated and were treated with care and respect. All of the guest enjoyed themselves and our wedding was beautiful and elegant. The venue was a very important element of the outcome.

Venue is beautiful! People running the venue and staff are horrible! We had a food tasting to ensure our food would be what we wanted it to be and the day of the wedding the food was not at all what we tasted. Side note we went with basic food options so they couldnt mess it up. Chicken was dry with some gelatin on top. Fish was overcooked. when I asked to be refunded they could only refund me for one of the sides. Even though everything was not cooked correctly. I had to send multiple emails back and forth with management for almost a month after my wedding. Weddings are already stressful save yourself the the headache and go somewhere else where they are more responsive and care! They also need to have a buy out the kitchen option because the food was not good at all and they force you to use their caterer

We had the BEST time at our wedding at Aristide. Gaby was amazing and so accommodating and she made our wedding planning a lot less stressful. She gave us helpful tips along the way to make our day of as seamless as possible. So many guests commented on how beautiful the venue was, and how smooth the flow of the wedding was. The venue staff was very professional and flexible. We had our traditional African wedding in the morning and the regular ceremony and reception in the evening. Gaby helped us with everything from planning to choosing small details. She was very energetic and flexible to our needs. Weddings are very stressful, especially doing three events in one day. But nothing was impossible for Gaby, she was willing to do whatever it takes to take the pressure and stress from us. Our wedding went great and I would definitely recommend this venue. Aristide McKinney is a beautiful venue, in which we ultimately had a beautiful wedding. Unfortunately, there was cause for concern during the planning phase as well as the day of the wedding. While Gaby was pleasant and I believe meant well, she was not available or present for 3 of the 4 scheduled visits to the venue. She was either non-responsive or slow to respond to emails, texts, and in returning phone calls throughout the whole process. In each case, she was always apologetic, stating she was in a meeting or had another pressing matter. Additional amenities were offered and documented in emails, but all were not adhered to. Our confidence in Aristide was affected when she didn t follow through on things that were promised. Through it all, we had an amazing and fun wedding celebration. The food was great and we and our guests danced the night away.

Gaby Danielle and Samantha did an amazing job making our day perfect! Gaby serves as the manager of the venue and has a huge workload and knows how to manage the easy work as well as the harder problems. The venue has 2 ballrooms and we utilized the larger ballroom to accommodate our 150 guest. My wife and I planned our own wedding and Gaby was our point of contact. We learned and understood that Gaby had the responsibility of multiple appointments other than us, but she was always able to make things happen. Obviously, there are things that may not go as planned, but no matter what we had to adjust, Gabby took care of everything. Overall, we made the right choice in choosing this venue! It was the chandeliers that attracted my wife to this venue.

I had my wedding here on November 28th. Gabi was my day of coordinator and she was FANTASTIC. We had the entire venue all day long. The food was incredible, the entire staff from our waiters to the bartenders were incredibly attentive and helpful. They had our wedding timing down to a T. Full review is on Wedding Wire for this venue. Unfortunately, Google has a big limit but I think this is a very important portion of what happened to us. I am open to questions to give more details. The very final part of this nightmare. We once again asked them for a refund. But not for the date, not for the cancelled wedding, but for all the items we paid for that were NEVER provided. We asked for a refund on drinks, which as far as we know, were not ordered or bought. On top of that, THEY COULD HAVE USED IT FOR ANOTHER WEDDING. It s not like drinks expire after a week. We asked a refund for the upgraded lighting, the upgraded linen, cocktail tables, literally everything that was not provided and came at ZERO expense to them. Even more so, as mentioned above, they could still use this for future weddings. It s not like they had to go in with a hammer and break all the lights and buy them again. They. Refused. To. Refund. For perspective, the added venue hour (never happened), colored wash lighting, linen upgrade, and premium beer & wine cost $5,175. None of this was refunded. Beyond unethical, immoral, and pathetic they could not even give us this back. This was so outrageous that we considered hiring a lawyer to assist us with AT LEAST these things. They could have kept the other $19,000+ but they refused for even this. Let me say that again, may not be a lot for some people but it is a life changing amount for others. Nineteen THOUSAND plus. The funniest part of this story .after we told them we were looking into getting a lawyer, GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? The manager immediately replied back and said I have a few dates in December and January that we can take a look at. Its safe to say that involving our legal representatives can be even more stressful. Yes. That was copied and pasted. He really went out of the way to say that involving legal representatives can be more stressful. What the hell have my wife and I gone through then? Seemed pretty stressful for me. It s hilarious how the instant we said lawyer ALL OF A SUDDEN A DATE OPENED UP FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR. I told him that if they were willing to pay to hire our vendors back then we would accept. We had no money left after they took our tens of thousands. Note, these are the same vendors they forced us to cancel because they could not offer postponement. Please take another guess as to their response . There was none. He straight up did not reply back for 6 days and then said wifi and internet is bad as his response and nothing else. Take this time to read some other reviews about their bad communication, please. This story ends with us telling them that since they are forcing us to pay then they need to at least package the food in containers and give it to us. We will pick it up and go donate the food. Surprisingly they agreed to this. We showed up with a couple cars grabbed the food and left. So we spent the remainder of our day delivering and packaging food to our friends and family. That was our wedding. There is an insane amount of detail I had to gloss over and this review is still extremely long. Like how we started working with a Barbara, who then left Aristide and no one told us, then we worked with Fernanda, then Gaby, then Daniel, then back to Gaby. Gaby was the only one I respected out of these bunch of fools. The other reviews can attest as to why. Regardless, communication alone was horrid. Again, I know this won t change the minds of anyone now and we are literally just mosquitoes buzzing around the Aristide business. They took our money and we are powerless to ever do anything about it. I am a man, but I am here to say that even men dream of their perfect wedding. I dreamed of this day my whole life. I know my wife did as well. We were so happy. And yet, every mention of just the word wedding this last year leaves us feeling nothing but negative emotions. The sheer thought of a wedding makes me want to spit. We never had a wedding at Aristide McKinney, we only had a nightmare that we will never forget.

Our daughters wedding was a beautiful December 2020 wedding in the middle of the pandemic. We never felt the restrictions and everyone enjoyed themselves. We hosted our wedding ceremony at Aristide in early December of 2020 and it was an absolutely beautiful evening!! Gaby was our wedding coordinator and I truly can t say good enough things about her! She was so patient in every meeting that we had with her. She was so attentive to my style and even to the smallest details. She was full of creative ideas to help bring our special day to life. She was so flexible when it came to timing and scheduling. Throughout the entire wedding process she was so comforting even in the midst the pandemic and so much unknown! We had our wedding here in November 2020 & it was an absolute dream. All of our guests kept complimenting the beauty of both the chapel and ballroom. They loved the bartender staff, the food from the kitchen staff and had a great time. As for my husband and I, we are so thankful to Gaby Danielle who was our wedding coordinator there. She eased our anxiety time and time again while we planned our wedding during a pandemic of all things. She was very genuine, and we felt she truly cared about making the day special for us. And she did! She went above and beyond for us, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone booking a wedding here. I don t know how I would ve handled the wedding without her help! She decorated the ballroom and entrance for us since we didn t really have anyone else to help with that while we were getting ready, and she made it all look absolutely beautiful; she made sure we had mimosas in our hands at all times; and she sent us off with a card, champagne and leftovers as well just to name a few things. We re very happy we chose to get married here!

Our Wedding was on 9/15/19. It was truly a very beautiful wedding and special day for us. But the day is still being spoken about from our guests. Everyone stated it was the best wedding they have ever attended. It was beautiful, organized, and really fun. Kelly Scott and staff was the best addition to our day. They cared about every detail and catered to us and our guests both professionally and they were genuinely sweet. Our bartenders were beyond our expectations. The drinks were amazing. The food was delicious and the display of it was wonderful. As a bride, I had worked really hard for a smooth flowing ceremony and reception. With the hard work and care shown I was able to just be a bride. And for that I could not ask for more. My sister s wedding was on 09/05/20. I served as my sister s maid of honor and wedding planner so I had lots of interaction with Aristide McKinney. We booked the venue last summer. We all fell in love with the beautiful elegance that Aristide offered. Everything started off great and once Covid came it went a bit downhill. Needless to say what was expected to be one of the best days of my sisters life took a bit of a bumpy ride. Around June, we had the pleasure of meeting the new manager Gaby. Gaby took immediate control of the situation and did everything in her power to help my sister have a beautiful day. She worked endlessly with us to try and accommodate all of our requests. I am certain without Gaby s help the day would not have been the success it was. I wholeheartedly appreciate her willingness to help and to do so with a smile.

Thank you Aristide McKinney for making my daughter s wedding last Sunday so special! The chapel and the Village Ballroom were absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. I first want to say that aside from any complications that COVID-19 has caused on this venue, that it is a beautiful and elegant location that after the remodeling was just a perfect location for any occasion especially our wedding we couldnt ask for more. Starting from the begining of our experience we were helped by a former representative of the business names Fernanda and she might have been affected by the pandemic I dont know but she wasnt accommodating or responsive to our needs or concerns for the majority up until the day of our event but the role was taken up by a new representative named Gaby. She went above and beyond to take care of us and persevered to make our vision of the day just the most magical experience we could have ever imagined even against all odds. Yes we couldnt move the date later for concern of the pandemic, yes we had lots of family who couldnt attend our event unfortunately, yes there was limitations and policy changes that as a company nobody could control but we made the best of the entire situation and honestly it couldnt have gone better. Gaby really stepped forward to ensure everything went as planned and that everything went as smoothly as possible the amount of craziness that happened that day was all handled by her and I couldnt have imagined what would happen if Gaby wasnt there she deserves all the praise I could blame and point fingers all day but life goes on and its people like Gaby who help move the world forward. I rated neutral because I have a general question after the reviews I have read. Why would the venue not transfer the funds paid for an event when a reschedule is requested with considerable time before the date? The food/liquor could not have been purchased so there isn t an expense. The owner mentioned their concern for families and guests which is contrary to forcing a young couple to lose their money entirely or have the wedding. Most likely with much fewer guests to celebrate their day. Some guests would probably still go than miss the wedding of that special person and take the chance. How is their safe distancing when there is dancing? How is that concern for the safety of the guests - it sound more like your concern is the profits. Many others venues are allowing the transfer of paid funds to a new date within the year. This is cruel - I m glad I read the reviews before I entertained this venue for my son s wedding. I also know of 2 other weddings being planned. The reviews before January were good - something is amiss starting this year. There isn t one good review. This is just horrible to keep all that has been paid when you haven t incurred the expense. At the very most maybe a 15% reschedule fee.

The attitude and professionalism of this venue is absolutely unacceptable. As others have said, they are choosing to take advantage of individuals and refuse to let them move out their weddings to next year, which is completely inconsistent with other venues. Just because Texas is opening up, does not mean it is safe or people feel safe congregating in an area with 150 other people. You can take all the precautions you want but guess what, people arent going to ask their high risk family members to miss out on their once in a lifetime day. There are so many government programs helping businesses to absorb the losses due to Covid-19, I seriously hope this company hasnt taken any of them because they are effectively stealing 10s of thousands of dollars from individuals. I have half a mind to report them to the BBB and encourage others who have been treated this way to do the same.

The venue may look very nice but please do not let that overshadow the fact that when it comes to customer service, appreciation, and understanding they rank less than one star. My fiancée and I have our wedding scheduled for August 1 and due to COVID-19 pandemic we feel uncomfortable having such a large event with a large portion of our guest being over the age of 50 and having underlying health complications and I have asthma myself. We also find it irresponsible and inconsiderate to ask our guest to attend such an event that puts not only our health at risk but their own as well. The fact that Aristide McKinney isn t willing to accommodate any concerns is truly disheartening especially during a time where you think having empathy and compassion for another human should be extended. Their unwillingness to work with us has not only caused stress and frustration but it has also put a grey storm cloud over an event that is supposed to be a beautiful occasion. If you book with this venue just know that you are not an appreciated customer but just another dollar in their bank account. Take every precaution when booking with them.

This venue should be absolutely disgusted by the way they are treating their costumers. My wedding is scheduled for August 1 but due to COVID-19 and the unpredictability of the virus, I don t feel comfortable asking my family members to come to my wedding. Aristide is just following the governors orders about reopening but a couple of days ago on May 28th there were 1800+ new COVID cases. They don t really care about the safety and well-being of their clients and their clients families. They don t care about financial hardships due to COVID, they don t care about people wanting to protect their family AT ALL. There is no way you can properly social distance at a reception and I, nor my fiancé, feel comfortable asking our guests (who are mainly over 50 and have underlying health conditions) to risk their lives to come and travel to Mckinney for a wedding and to be at a wedding with people who may be asymptomatic . If you are looking to do business with this venue, I suggest you don t. You can really tell who just cares about money and who actually values their clients by the way they responded to COVID-19. I absolutely regret my choice of going with this venue and they have absolutely made me not look forward to any kind of wedding celebration.

I was happy with the venue up until Covid and the way they have handled the situation thus far. My wedding was originally in March and the company would only allow postponement for June, July, and August at the time, when other venues were allowing postponements until next year. Now my new wedding date is in July and Im forced to have the wedding or lose all of the money we put into the wedding. Texas is opening up but the majority of people do not feel safe going to a gathering of this magnitude and especially one where you want to hug and kiss your loved ones. The company and venue is basically saying screw you and they are under a false presumption that just because the state is opening people are okay with that. They are not. People are scared. People could literally get sick and die if they make a choice to come to my wedding and worse what kind of person ask someone to come to their wedding under these circumstances. I called to see if I could postpone until next year and the answer is no and I have fully paid. They are taking precautions but you cant expect people to social distance successfully at a wedding. I was upset after my original wedding date was canceled but this just makes me upset all over again. Im on wedding groups and I see other venues letting their July brides postpone. I get they are running a business but brides will continue to get married and they will continue to make money but its not everyday that you have thousands of dollars to throw a wedding.

Im giving this 2 stars because the venue is BEAUTIFUL and the rate was good for a ceremony only wedding and to use the chapel. The reason Im giving it 2 stars is because of the interaction that we had with the manager there. I had several interactions with her before touring the venue, had the quote, had the date set, and all the paperwork ready to go in order to sign and be done, all of which had been approved already by the manager onsite. All we had left was the tour and signing the paperwork. So, we got the venue and the tour went ok for the most part. The chapel is gorgeous and we were set on having our wedding here. As we were walking around, we were giving her an idea of what we wanted to do for a reception, if it were in our budget, but decided to stick to a ceremony only reservation for our wedding. We sat down to discuss, and had a good idea of what we wanted to do with the venue, but the manager seemed to almost turn her nose up at our wedding day wants and needs and how we envisioned out day. After all that, and deciding to stick to just a ceremony, all of a sudden the building was going to be under construction during our wedding reservation. I get that it could have been an oversight or something, but there was a period of a couple weeks between our first contact and that tour, even after approving the date, processing paperwork, and getting ready to tour and put down our deposit. It was just a little unprofessional in our mind to have let us get this far down the path and then find a conflict with the schedule and our wedding day, that had already been set in stone, mind you. Needless to say, we were disappointed in the fact that we had lost two weeks of finding another venue that we loved, a couple of which had already been reserved between those dates while we were working with Aristide McKinney. If you want to work with them, know that the facility was gorgeous, and probably even more amazing after their construction will be completed in February 2020, but be sure to verify several times with the manager whether or not the dates will work for your event so that your time isnt wasted with all the planning, only to be let down. Sadly, Im sure we arent the only people that have been part of an oversight. However, hopefully they dont end up making the same mistake again with another couple that is trying to plan and implement their big day. I completely understand that dates are not guaranteed until a contract is signed, but no doubt they already had major renovations planned before we even talked or toured (because it was a total remodel, which isn t a quick decision), so the oversight was not only completely overlooked, but sadly it was just a waste of our time for two weeks being led on. Again, beautiful venue and location, but poor communication, planning, and execution on their part.
