Very possibly the worst excuse for any type of mexican food weve experienced anywhere in the lower 48 States and much too expensive for the low quality stuff being served here... We just moved to the area and had always noticed quite a few cars at the place so we decided to see how it rated with someone who had actually been around My wife had some kind of chicken that was supposed to be in a sour creme sauce NASTY, it had either been left under the heat lamp too long or was actually thick almost dried out wallpaper paste. I was upset because they only had like no vegan options and 2 vegetarian options. I asked the waitress if they had a comment box and she said no. I have no earthly idea how this place got this nu,ber of stars in their review but seems fishy to me Bottom line, dont let the crowd at the time fool you, this place is at best one level below taco bell. Ive gone 3 different times and was not a fan of the tacos. I tried the quesabirria tacos and the recipe was off I couldnt finish it and on my second visit the hostesses were busy talking while we waited at the door. The servers were great but the tacos not being good doesnt help lol I will say I have high taco standards though because I was the only one in my family that wasnt in love with blue goose.

Service needs lots of work.. queso came at the same time as food and was cold. My salad had to be reordered due to dry chicken and no shell avocado requested slices and got guacamole with onions and I am allergic to onions. Drinks where empty all night till I finally called manager to fix food then had to call him again for refills due to waiter no where to be found at all don t think we will be back this was visiting and you can t even talk without screaming at each other. Waiter to busy worried about his Tio s and counting them that he was upset cause he got a small tip.. but watching the table across they left when they did not have food and drinks of tea was empty. And then there food came out.. customer service is a big deal when you are a waiter or waitress.. just saying been there done that.. fajita onions should be grilled no RAW The one thing that I can say, they came out of the night is the manager Texas was very understanding came and sat with me for a moment and went over everything and reassured me that next time he would make sure that he was a lot more better service and that this was not their normal routine that he s not sure what actually happened tonight so for that, I will give it a three star, but only because of that

1st time here. Service is excellent & kind Very loud and noisy cafeteria, Texas typical. Super loud. Free chips & salsa: spicy salsa is good: the regular salsa tastes like canned tomato. Ordered the fajita taco salad in shell. Dressing option i chose was creamy chipotle: that dressing is a vinaigrette, and it has quite a bit of sugar. There s nothing creamy about it. There s no cream in it at all: maybe management has previously changed the ingredients or is confused? I requested a small queso and use that which worked great. The fajita meat seem to be a good quality cooked very perfectly with a tiny bit of pink in the middle. Only problem is there was less than a tablespoon on the salad . if that. Typically, I cannot finish a taco salad, but I cleaned the bowl on this one.. a small female. (The portion of meat was very minimal). The beans are canned black beans and they put corn in it, which is really nice but I am not sure if the corn was frozen or canned. There was one tomato cut in half a little cherry tomato. Drink was water from tap. For the price, they can most definitely do better. This was not a $20 meal by far.

Had a late lunch and ordered two items from their limited Hatch chili menu. Chicken enchiladas with queso and the beef burrito. Both plates were excellent and we left very full and satisfied. For the food and table service we received I would have no reservations of coming back. I have traveled extensively world wide and worked in hospitality for close to 40 years and can tell you that if the staff have time to stand around and play on their phone, dont have them do that where paying customers can see them.

Before I rated this restaurant 5 stars, after today that changed. I ordered a glass of unsweet tea took one drink an spit it out, I dont know what was in it but it was horrible you could see stuff floating in it. Seriously think it was very old tea it was rancid possibly weeks old, but the kicker was when the waiter came back an I explained. He seriously said yes I noticed it didnt look right? Came during a busy lunch hour, hostess was very quick to seat us. Fresh Chips and salsa were at our table before we could finish being seated. Server was also very prompt with with drinks/refills. Food was fantastic quality, portion, value. And the speed of service was unbelievable. I would like to give Grace our server most of the credit for making our experience so good she is the only person i have ever left a 40% tip. Great restraunt highly reccomend. This is the place I go when Ive had a bad day (the atmosphere is so chill and the people are so nice). Or when I want to celebrate. Or when its just a Wednesday. This is my comfort place. The food is fabulous and consistent. If it happens to be early on a weekend, Im always thrilled to have their brunch (BLT with avocado, egg, and chipoltle mayo is a game changer.) Ive tried literally everything on the menu and theres nothing I wouldnt recommend, drinks included (La Flaca or Spicy Sancho are my top faves). What really seals the deal is the peppermints they always have by the host stand (which Im not a fan of classic mints, there is something special about these) which save me when I get too full (the food is just too good!) Vegetarian options: They have veggie enchiladas, quesadillas, and more Dietary restrictions: Dairy free with augies street tacos and other tacos and salads if you remove the cheese and choose a different dressing

Food was good. Our server was extremely attentive and sweet. I m new to Texas and not accustomed to tex-mex (I prefer authentic Mexican) but it was really good and tasted fresh. The chips and salsa are also really flavorful. Probably some of the best salsa I ve had in years. Kid-friendliness: They offer high chairs and have plenty of tables and booths that are high-chair friendly . Some restaurants offer high chairs but the seating is bad so the high chair gets in everybody s way.

My family really enjoys the food, patio, and service here. There are a lot of vegetarian options and the salsa is delicious. My favorite dish is the veggie fajitas with lime rice, however the guacamole appetizer is just smashed avocado and a lime slice- we add pepper to it and ask for extra limes. Picking up here for DoorDash sucks. Like 10 people walked by me while I was at the bar, manager included and I had to go up to someone and ask if my pickup was ready. The bartender was rude and just redirected me to someone else. The pick up instructions say go to bar and ask for order so idk maybe update those. Please understand that DoorDash drivers are trying to also make a living and getting ignored prolongs our pickups.

So I normally dont leave reviews but this place deserves this one star. Wish it could be less. I looked at the reviews. Not sure how they are so high. But that was my deciding factor to eat here. It was my birthday and wanted to get some good mexican food that everyone raves over. Got there with absolutely not one spot in the lot to park. Ended up parking 3 lots over and had to walk back to the restaurant. The staff were excellent. Had no problem with the service. Top notch. However it turned downhill when they brought me chips and salsa. If thats what you want to call it. The chips were greasy and half of them were so stale that I couldnt even chew them. I wont talk about how bad the salsa was. Got a margaritas special which tasted as there was no alcohol at all was used. Got salt on the rim that was just table salt. Then my food came, chicken enchiladas, absolutely bland. Tasted exactly like the chicken out of a can that is next to the tuna in the grocery store. So gross. Couldnt even eat it. Then the check came and boy did I get a sticker shock. Way over priced for below sub par food. This place was so disgusting. Sorry for people that think this is good food. The only positive thing is the staff and the waiter was on his game. Excellent staff. Would not ever return to this place. Would not even recommend this to somebody I dont like.

We went for lunch there. My husband asked for a strawberry virgin margarita. The gal server brought one that was not strawberry. Then my husband ordered beef enchiladas and the server brought cheese enchiladas. The food I had had very little flavor. We both thought it was just ok. Then the gal server brought us our bill and she double charged my husband for his food. I looked at the bill to verify everything. Some people might not look but just give the server a credit card. I have to be honest. I m giving it two stars because the manager was nice enough to take the Birria Tacos off my tab. Great environment and drinks were little, but they had some kick to them. The food though wasn t it. I m from Central and SouthEast TX where the Mexican food is authentic and don t miss. I m not trashing the place that s not my intention but to only give my honest opinion. My brother and I visited for lunch. We hadnt seen each other for quite some time so we were in no hurry. Our waitress understood this this and provided the perfect amount of attentiveness with appearing to rush us. The food, as usual, was amazing. Typically, I would have given it a 5 out of 5 stars, but the signature peach margarita was a bit of a letdown. It was described as a margarita having grilled peaches in it. Missing from the description was the fact that the peaches were canned, so instead of a tasty addition, they were more of a barely grill marked mass of slime. Barring that, the Megas brunch platter was astounding and large enough that I had leftovers to bring home. I will certainly eat here again.

Food was good. Margaritas were good. Try the flight. Queso was really good. Try the top shelf. Fajitas were on point. Parking: Parking can be a problem when they are busy. Kid-friendliness: They give kids crayons and a drawing/coloring sheet.

Went during brunch. It was towards the end of the brunch hours. Service was slow, and food was cold. Ordered breakfast omelet with potatoes and my potatoes were ice cold. They ended up having to make me new ones, by the time I got them, I was done with my omelet. Use to like this place. Definitely going down hill.

My husband and I had dinner here recently. We brought our toddler with us as hes a major food critic these days. It took a few minutes for our server to get to us, but he was apologetic and was otherwise very attentive during the rest of our dining experience. We ordered the chips and queso, and we thought the salsa and queso were both delicious! The salsa is on the milder side. Our toddler really enjoyed eating it with his chips. I ordered the Birria Quesatacos, my husband ordered the Pick three tacos, and we got our son the chicken and cheese quesadilla for kids. We LOVED the food! All of it was delicious. I was glad our server asked us if we wanted the Spanish rice or the lime rice. We both chose the lime rice with no regrets! The prices are reasonable, and the food was wonderful. We will absolutely be back here in the future. Kid-friendliness: This restaurant has booster seats and high chairs for children, as well as a dedicated kids menu that offers a decent variety. I wish the side of fruit for kids wasnt an extra charge, but I appreciate that they offer some healthier options for children.

The salsa is a joke more like watery canned diced tomatoes with extra garlic When question the -1 heat scale - I learn they have special salsa For additional charge DON T DO IT! (Bring your own can of Chili-powder and pour it into the sweet -1 heat salsa - and you will at least hit a hotter heat index - but it s going to taste like our chili powder Food was decent / my kids did not like his food Oh - kitchen also missed my order / had to fix it (got it right - when most others were done at table. All in all - a hit and miss experience

Really wanted to love this place, but just didnt hit enough high notes. For starters, they squeezed 7 of us into a table barely big enough for 6. Tables are right on top of one another, so when trying to get out from an already overcrowded table of our own, we had to contend with the table directly behind us. Their margaritas tasted like pure mix. Wife and I love margaritas, but one was enough to send us both in another beverage direction. Good sized menu with a fair amount of options. Weight staff was a bit impatient at first (they were busy), but seemed to recognize we werent there for just chips and salsa, and that good service might be rewarded. Would have loved to try the fajitas, but with such a small table, I didnt think thered be room on our table. (I was right) Ended up ordering the Dirty Bob, a deep fried chimichanga, which was quite good. Overall, not terrible. But with Tex Mex being what it is in Texas, Id rather try elsewhere.

This is place is not worth going. Dont waste your time or money. Sure they have good customers service. However the food is very bland. The so-called hot sauce tasted like bbq sauce mixed with picante sauce. The cheese dip tasted just like melted knockoff brand Velveeta no real flavor. The food smells great. However its very bland. Also way over priced for the food.

My family & I had a bad experience regarding the bartending staff. My party of 6 met up for Sunday Brunch on 2/25/24 at 11:30AM, just to enjoy the day together - family catching up etc. We had a lovely dining experience on the outdoor patio, & our waiter (Hayden?) was phenomenal. We had ordered drinks with our meals, but the most any of us had was one individual who had 4 mimosas the drink special of the day. We closed out our tabs with our waiter outside, & decided to stay a little longer just to enjoy our time together before going separate ways. After we finished our meals, we decided to move inside to the bar area because it was too warm to continue to sit outside. Upon sitting at the bar (where there were only 2 other guests), it was very apparent that the bartender was not excited to have a large party to service. She was not friendly with us from the very beginning, but had no problem being friendly while serving a coworker & an individual who seemed to be a regular patron. We were not being a rowdy crowd by any means. We were very respectful and patient both outside and inside, and had done nothing wrong to make anyone believe any of us were drunk (because we weren t just normal adults enjoying beverages with our food). We were only able to order 1 round of drinks from the bartender, who was already frustrated to have to serve us. After our first, and ONLY, drink at the bar, we witnessed the bartender leave to find the manager & our server from outside, in an effort to cut us off. Our entire party was able to comprehend and witness what was going on. Again, at this point in time, the MOST that ONE individual had was 5 drinks total, some had 3, 4, etc. and there was one of us that had ZERO alcoholic beverages to drink. It was insulting, honestly. It was very clear that the bartender did not want to serve a large party, & made an effort to cut us off . After witnessing the bartender leave to find a manager, the manager returned (with what we presumed to be our original checks in her hand, possibly to show us how much we have had to drink as if we were incapable) & we immediately closed our tabs & left. We were not drunk, & it was very clear to us what was going on. We left around 2:50PM. I have been a respectful patron of this restaurant for years, and so have many of my friends & family who live in the area. I also am not someone who EVER leaves poor reviews on places, however the experience my family had today while enjoying our Sunday together was unacceptable & I feel that they (and the public) deserve to know that Blue Goose Mckinney needs to do better as an establishment who s focus is on guest service. I m very aware of how the service industry works, & understand that it is important to not over-serve patrons for their own safety as well as the safety of others. However, this was clearly a situation where the bartender, herself, did not want to serve a large party, and opted to attempt to cut us off after a few drinks even though we had been nothing but polite and respectful during our entire stay. To the bartender - if you do not want to work to make money for yourself, just stay home? Do not waste the time of the business you work for & also the customers who would have enjoyed to tip you well for service. To the Blue Goose Manager Sheryl communication with our party to experience with your own eyes that we were not drunk would have been nice. We would have gladly stayed for a couple more drinks & left (responsibly, as we did) & tipped well? We had no intentions of sitting there to get hammered all day, & possibly would have only one last drink before all the shenanigans that you had to endure from the bartender? To our waiter Hayden you were very nice & a great server. Thanks, dude. If you re planning on going for a quick meal, sure! The food is good. Wait staff is nice. If you re planning on going to enjoy the drink specials, don t waste your time, go somewhere else. They clearly do not want your money at the bar to drink there anyways.

I have frequented the Blue Goose Cantina in McKinney for I believe seven or so times; five dine-in experiences and two carry-out experiences. Overall, I would recommend the location and have found the food to be enjoyable and tasty. The service has always been hit and miss; on a few of my visits there have been issues with getting the order correct, delivery of a plate to the wrong person, and a general lack of positivity - nothing worth being negative about, however, it can detract from the overall experience and my previous attempts to communicate concerns are genuinely received without regard from the on-duty manager. The little things like having to ask for drink, chips, or salsa refills. Seeing wait staff busy on their cellular phones instead of walking their service area. I have even had one occasion to overhear two employees speaking negatively about some of their customers, clearly not aware not their voices were easy to hear. There are portions of the meals that are reheated on the plate, but again, it has not been an issue for me or my guests, but you can tell. I would say that this location gets the majority of its business from repeat customers and the lunch crowd, but I really believe they could take things up a notch and really deliver better service. Like I said, I return to the location because of the food and I can overlook these issues I have shared.

We went to the Blue Goose for the first time and it did not disappoint. We did the flight of margaritas on the rocks. I got to try the hibiscus margarita mango margarita and the hubby took the original margarita. They were delicious. We also tried the Goose Eggs as an appetizer. So good! I had the fish tacos and loved them. My husband had the birria tacos (sorry if Im not spelling that right), and he wasnt a fan. It did taste like pot roast in a taco. It was so wet, you couldnt pick it up. Overall, we would definitely go again. The food and drinks were really good, besides that one dish. And our server was super cool and checked on us throughout our time there.

Awesome atmosphere and staff. Just had a dinner with just 3 of us and we got our food so fast and our waitress was on point. Tons of laughs throughout the restaurant make it a place with great vibes and good culture. I recommend the Tacks Dorados with a nice cold Dos Equis.

I love their salsa and their margarita flight. Their chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce and jalapenos were really good. We got there early before the crowds, so we didnt have to wait for a table. Great waiter. Tasty food. Classic Tex-Mex ambiance. Wed go back!
