Where to start.... pizza crust seemed to have changed and become almost pre-made, and dry, pizzas on the buffet are not that great overall now.... dining room seems greasy and unorganized, its just a weird feeling being here, almost sad and lonely

WHEN VISITING JIMS PIZZA IN MCKINNEY- (owner reply to my review actually!) HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE- Rude service and poor quality! I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Jim s Pizza in McKinney from the moment I walked in things went wrong. The server/cashier address me in a disrespectful manner using a term autistic when taking my order. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and deeply hurtful. To make matters worse, the quality of the ingredients was subpar at best. The pizza I received was far from satisfying and didn t reflect the standards one will expect. It was clear that the staff had little regard for their food quality or customer service. The overall demeanor of the server was incredibly rude and dismissive making the entire visit uncomfortable. I truly regret not checking the reviews before deciding to eat here. It s disappointing to see a place like this operate without consequences for their poor service and lackluster food. I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of Jim s pizza if they value, respectful service and good quality food.

I went out of my way from Frisco to come here and try it instead of Cicis I really enjoyed the food The service was incredibly friendly, the atmosphere reminded me of when I went to pizza buffets as a kid in the 80s and 90s, and the pizza blew away anything at Cicis or other buffets

I called 20 minutes before I arrived, and I asked if they have a pizza buffet, and the guys said yes I asked a couple of other questions, and she started blowing, sounding frustrated! I got there with my family to find out that they had closed the lunch buffet, and they wanted to serve us the leftovers! I complained that I just called. Why didnt you let me know that the buffet was over, and the only one who cared to apologize was the waitress. Please tell people that you guys arent serving the buffet and be polite when you get calls from customers.

Well, it was the first time here, and I was not disappointed. Went on a Saturday night, which is lasagna buffet night! Lasagna, salad bar, some desserts, breadsticks, and sauce! They offer so much. Veteran pizzeria and they offer discount. Good food and good prices. A young guy I believe his name is Shawn at the register, on the phone and all over, had to deal with a crazy older lady cursing up a storm! He was under a lot of stress, hot and busy ! He did a great job both at work and handling her. Great job, young man! You need a raise.

I was in there last night 6/29/25, great food great atmosphere, and great service. There was a family that came in and it seemed to be someone who worked there recently or currently but the family started yelling at the kid who was behind the counter and he seemed to take it very nice. I give him props and hope he goes places in life because if I was in that situation I would not have been happy.

The manager was very rude to me and my family. The food was bland and tasteless. Ive had food poisoning for the past day and a half. The bathrooms and counters were very filthy crumbs all over the floor and counters and when we left he was very rude. Saying Im sorry yall had a bad but you dont have to come back as we left. 0 star would the best rating for this place

HORRIBLE experience! The staff was rude (the lady filling drinks was nice), the service-there was none. The place is filthy. The restroom is disgusting. The food had a soapy residue taste as if they didnt properly rinse utensils. When we spoke to the guy as we were paying, we let him know our experience was poor and he said sorry you had a bad experience, you dont have to come back as we walked out. If I could give this place zero stars I would! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

We had high hopes for this place, it being an Original . Ended up disappointed. The pizza was very average, and incredibly salty. Meanwhile, the whole place is dilapidated. It needs a top to bottom remodel. The outdoor furniture looked like junkyard specials, and the inside is shabby and worn out.

I love this place. The owner is kind and accommodating. He always treats me very special even though I am on a strict diet and can not eat a full Buffet. This is such a wonderful place. Full of great food, history and flavor. I dont know how I came upon Jims but I am glad I did. My family and I had the Pizza Buffet for Lunch and it was SO good and very clean. Head above Cicis and it was also good to be able to support a local McKinney establishment. I was impressed with the Spaghetti sauce. It was flavorful and did not taste like it came from a jar. (Its not a meat sauce) My wife loved it, I loved it, and most importantly my picky eater daughter loved it. I cannot wait to come back for their Lasagna Dinner buffet. It should also be mentioned that the salad bar was very well stocked and fresh. Aside from the many delicious pizzas, the fresh buffet offerings, and the super friendly staff that made you feel like neighborhood joints still exist for the community; their prices for lunch and dinners are extremely amazing, especially in this over-inflation economy. If you can, please tip well, theyve shown that they deserve it.

EDIT: Jims pizza reached out and offered a free pizza to make things right. I truly appreciate the gesture and will take them up on it! EDIT2: I got the chicken bacon ranch pizza re-made and it is DELICIOUS! The staff is super friendly and the food is excellent! I will definitely keep coming back. Initial review: not a good experience at all. First I placed the order online and waited 15 minutes to come pick up two pizzas and wings. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told they didnt have my order and that maybe I ordered for Mr. Jims pizza instead. After showing them the receipt, they found my online order and made it. When I got home, I discovered that the pizza with the ranch sauce, chicken bacon and onions was actually made with RED sauce (picture attached). Needless to say, it tastes BAD and just weird. And so the ranch sauce I paid extra for was not there. Guess Im out that money. The BBQ chicken pizza is super thin crust and extremely sweet. Wings are not bad! Ive been here before and it was pretty good. Based on this Im not going to be able to come back--$50 for food thats just not good, at all. I tried giving my dog a piece of the pizza, she refused to eat it :(

Jim s is our favorite pizza buffet in McKinney. We always come for the Friday and Saturday night lasagna buffet. Their lasagna is phenomenal! As for their pizza, we highly recommend the fluffy crust! Taste like Chicago style crust. The thin crust is so thin and crispy that it tastes almost like saltine crackers. Our only complaint is that pizzas and lasagna are a little too salty. Every time we have to drink a lot of water to compensate.

[6/20/2023] There are about 8 type of pizzas when I visited. They were all bit salty. There was chicken wings but they were small, had good taste, and slightly over cooked. It also has spaghetti and salad bar. This joint is better than Cici s pizza for sure. Pizza Inn at Mesquite is better than this one but that one charges $3+ more. There was this friendly energetic waitress lady. She is like a pizza ninja, she was everywhere, and took care of everyone. For the price, this restaurant is a good value.

I stopped by for the dinner buffet and I was amazed about how tasty this place is! I had low expectations, but this place blows Cici s out of the water. The salad bar is tasty and has fresh ingredients. The ranch is actually good restaurant quality ranch. Even the spaghetti was really really good for a buffet. I ve lived in the area for a couple years and had always assumed that this location was affiliated with Mr. Jim s. I asked a worker and he said they are not affiliated with Mr. Jim s . I want to start this off by saying the staff was phenomenal, super friendly & engaging! I dont know what happened between 2021 and 2023, but there is clearly a reason why the parking lot was empty at 8pm on a Tuesday. Running a pizza oven at 600 degrees is too hot & ends up charring the tops of everything, & makes the crust into a mouth shredding experience. If you dont double down on the sauce, everything comes out extra dry as well. Theres a difference between toasted and burnt cheese. The salad bar was well stocked & plenty of choice! There were 2 fresh pizzas put out in the time I was there & the table of 5 cops who came in after me demolished them both, so all I got was stuff that had clearly been sitting for some time. (FTP) I dont know whats up with the beef but it didnt taste right, & the chocolate dessert pizza just tasted like burnt cocoa powder. These people have all the ingredients to make a wonderful experience. They just have to put them together in the correct way to be successful again.

Pizza is good. The one thing that I find absolutely disgusting is the fact that none of the workers preparing the pizza put gloves on. This should be required and is completely unsanitary. I watched one girl go answer the phone, take and order and then without washing her hands continued to stick her hands in the cheese to prep the pizza. Please invest in gloves for your employees.

Most days the pizza is on point, DELICIOUS! The biggest detriment to Jim s Pizza is the horrible service. Michelle is truly ruining the business and I guarantee she is causing new phone customers to never place their first order or she causes loyal customers like myself to not want to order again. She is extremely unwelcoming like you are truly inconveniencing her by dialing their number. Michelle is definitely not someone who should be answering the phone on the front lines of this business. She is rude and exudes an aura as if she absolutely hates her job. I m not sure that she could even be coached because the rudeness appears to be within her. The owner should hire some secret shoppers to call and place orders when she is working and they will see exactly what I mean. When I placed my order tonight, I almost canceled it just because of how she made us feel for even ordering food to begin with. When we arrived to pick up our pizza tonight there was nobody in the restaurant but yet she told us it would be 3 hours for delivery on a Monday. She is maliciously deterring business.

The pizza was good, the salad was good, the wings were good, the ranch was good. The staff was good except for 1 dude and he is the reason we wont bring our family back. Its the holiday time and they have this little bell band with a speaker box. My boys went over as we were leaving, 1 pushed the button to start the song, when it was over the second said I want to try. Thats when a very obviously stressed out employee came over and turned it off telling them that was enough. I understand being annoyed by it, and I understand being stressed out, but my goodness if you dont want to hear it dont put it out. If they had been playing it the whole time then ask them to stop. It truly rubbed my husband and I the wrong way and its not a place we want to return to. We ended up there by accident as I Googled and went to the wrong place of a similar name on the same street. Very friendly staff. The food was good but the cleanliness and appeal of the buffet area was not. They were also fine with wilted lettuce in the salad section. Disappointed this time. My daughter asked for cheesy bread, and was directed to the old cheesy bread that had been under the lamp for a while instead of them her making a new one. I did not get the quality for the price I paid.

It was good, the pizza was really good and the waitress was very friendly, she was the only waitress they had but she was doing the best she could overall me and my family will be will be going there again. Vegetarian options: They had salad and if you needed a veggie pizza they can make you one.

This is a pretty great pizza place, they make my favorite white sauce pizza (Chicken Bacon Ranch) and the service has been good. I cant speak for the buffet aspect but their carry out and delivery pizza is phenomenal.

Used to go to location on 380 and it wasn t bad. I went today and all the pizza was overcooked. It s now an incredibly average pizza buffet. Not that there s ever been an outstanding pizza buffet in American history but it s always nice to dream.

One of the worst customer service experiences. We ordered four pizzas. One came out, the other 3 never did. After 20 minutes, we asked about the pizza and they pushed the ticket behind other orders. Staff was completely rude and failed to accept responsibility. Another customer had been standing at the line for about 20 minutes waiting for spaghetti sauce and every time she asked about it, they kept telling her another minute and then ignoring her.

Ive been coming to Jims since I was a kid too young to remember it. My family has visited for who knows how long. In short, the only thing thats changed is the location. Its as good and friendly a place as ever. This was my first time at the new location after a busy year. It was really nice to see an old favorite keeping things going, barely a thing changed. Some of the very best pizza Ive had, and the salad bar isnt any slouch either! Restaurant is clean, staff is nice and friendly, and the prices remain very reasonable. (both on the by-order & buffet side of things) Not sure if anyone on staff remembers him, but my late grandpa Stephen Lew Anderson introduced me originally. I was sorry to hear about Jim, I still remember how much I heard about him! Vegetarian options: Diverse buffet-style salad bar & a few by-order vegetarian pizzas. (theyll make one for the buffet if you ask) Dietary restrictions: Many options, will make custom pizzas for you with any ingredients. May not be ideal for you because of cross-contamination risk. Parking: Solid availability, no trouble in the middle of lunch Kid-friendliness: Staff is extremely nice & the resteraunt is NOT white tablecloth or extremely fancy. Very kid friendly, they even have coloring pages & crayons for kids. (and good kids meal pricing) Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible by ramp, multiple reserved parking spaces for disabled individuals.

First time at this new location. Son is doing his dad proud. Love the salad bar and the pizza is always hot and fresh. Great quality pizza and food for the money. Kid-friendliness: Kids over it here and there is a good variety of pizza and they make special pizza all you need to do is ask. No additional fees. Its just part of the great service. Wheelchair accessibility: 100% accessible for wheelchair. Son-in-law is in a wheelchair and we had absolutely no issues.

We have eaten at Jims for yrs at old address. We have eaten twice at new address. Sorry to say your dining area and restroom needs some cleaning. It needs to be deep cleaned each and every night. Im not a clean freak but clean is clean.

New location, the buffet is good. A little pricey $30 for 2 lunch / 1 drink..great pizza. Cinnamon pizza wasnt as good as normal.. never refilled the garlic toast for the spaghetti. Clean.

Pizza and salad buffet options are great and lots of variety. The reason I deducted a star is due to the lack of cleanliness of the dining area. Tables are bussed but chairs are not cleaned and there is greasy residue and pizza crust crumbs on the chairs. The floor of the dining hall can get nasty and dirty due to the influx of customers but theyre never swept during the time. The floors are left extremely dirty. Theyre short staff with servers. Theres one lady getting all the drinks and refills and she seems very stressed. I saw her carry a group of plastic cups and holding them by her fingers inside where the drink is. I dont think thats hygienic. I hope they can offer her help.

Called in a order spoke with the owner told me delivery order would be 90 minutes that was at 5:45 pm it is now 7:40 and no order they should just say gives us all day it will get there when ever we want !!! So when I called back to talk to owner he was no help just said well I told you 90 min which I replied yes 90 min not 2 hours he was no help so after being a customer for so long I m done with Jim s pizza

My family and I have been coming to Jims since we moved to McKinney back in 2004. After all these years it seems they only get better. Everyone in our family loves it, and its the only pizza buffet we will go to. We were so happy to see they moved to a new location closer to our house as well.

To me this is the best dang pizza in DFW. I ve been coming here for at least 10 years. If you like old school Pizza Inn and Pizza Hut buffets this is the place.
