Please bring back the old the chips! The new chips are not good. We have been dining at this location ever since they opened more than a decade ago, but will not return until the old chips are back (thin, crispy, just the right amount of salt).

Excellent food. I eat here a lot because its my wifes favorite. She always gets the fajitas. They come out steaming reminding me of the showy experience of ordering fajitas in San Antonio. I enjoy the Tex-Mex. Be sure to ask for the smokey salsa if they dont put both varieties on the table!

I had a craving for Mexican food and the options around Prosper/ McKinney are limited. I tried the carne asada with enchilada and while I enjoyadas it, if you re looking for Tex-Mex this is good. A little pricey for me. Appreciated having the plate come with guacamole and pico. Christian was a great server! Kind and attentive.

The good was hot and delivered quickly. The service was excellent. Try the avocado enchiladas. They were excellent. The tacos were filled with taco meat to the top of the shell and not the least bit greasy. The only reason I took off a star is the dining room. The table had scratched up the wall and needed paint. Decorations were sparse.

I went with my kid for Saturday dinner.. didnt like the ambience.. pretty old and the table is stinky Greeted well and asked for what to drink while we are seating.. surprised with the fastness. But the waiter came to take order repeatedly every 30-seconds.. crazy Ordered chicken quesadilla and tacos mi pueblo. The quesadilla is just junk.. not enough meat and more cheese that too soggy.. had to use knife to cut the cheese in quesadilla . I think quesadilla is a very basic Mexican dish.. if you cant make it good.. I dont understand how you got all the ratings.. My kid said tacos mi pueblo is okay.. but the chicken is tasteless.. overall food is 1-2 starts. Ambience is 1, service is also 1

Our office staff eat lunch here at the McKinney location all the time and they never disappoint. Today I went to them because I need catering for my nieces baby shower and Paloma helped me. I love Ernestos, this resturant is absolutely on my top favorite list. There is just one problem, they changed the frozen margarita mix and now the margs are trash. Until they change it back Ill have to find a new place to get delicious margaritas and that makes me sad.

Will never be coming back. This use to be our favorite restaurant but due to the girl they leave in charge, that has quickly changed. She doesn t know what she s doing and tries to charge for everything even when they messed up our order. If I could leave zero stars I would. Please fix management ASAP if you want to retain customers. We were loyal customers until now.

If I could give them a 0 I would. Visited today for lunch with my husband. The staff wasn t nice at all since we walked in,we heard them discuss what table they would give us because of the way we were dressed, our server was super informal she was rushing us to order had to make a quick decision because she didn t even let us read the menu, I ordered the carne Asada tacos, which looked and tasted like sausage,meanwhile the server was sitting at the lounge that s at the entrance the whole time when we had to call her to get boxes and the check because she had not been at the table she decided to jump over the lounge to get to our table. Definitely not recommending this place. I wouldn t like any of my friends to have a bad experience as we did.

Great first visit to Ernesto s last night! Our server Edgar was prompt, attentive and friendly. He made good suggestions on food and drink. We were there celebrating a friend s birthday and had four adults and four kids there. The overall value of the meal was very high with the bill being just under $200 including two appetizers and 2-3 margaritas for each adult.

As you approach the restaurant it looks like a typical restaurant in a suburban strip mall, however when you walk in the Mexican vibe is throughout. There were plenty of Texas Rangers clad servers on this slower-paced Sunday evening dinner service. For the amount of servers present, the service was slow but maybe just relaxed. All the dishes were excellent except one. Ernestos platter is highly recommended for its variety in flavor. The fajita beef nachos Orwell flavored. Basic tacos or well-done. Carnitas tacos were good. The carne asada y enchilada was not executed very well. Ordered the steak medium rare and it came out well done. The guacamole was the size of a quarter. No homemade flour tortillas were given. The beef enchilada was amazing. If I had it to do all over again I just would have ordered a bowl of the be filling over the steak. Bar selection was good with mass-produced and Mexican choices on the draft department and the mixed drinks looked good as well. Looking forward to my next trip back

I finally found a great Tex-Mex restaurant my wife likes too! We have been 3 times now, and the food has been consistently awesome: Steak, Enchiladas, Fish, Shrimp, Poppers, all good. We keep trying new things each time, and they keep amazing us. The wait staff has always been friendly and prompt, with the food and drinks always arriving promptly. The various tequila margaritas are all very tasty, and the bartenders make a custom mango drink with vodka that my wife loves. On our last visit, Paloma, noticing that we were repeat customers, stopped by the table to say hello and thank us for our patronage - a nice, sincere sentiment. This is our new go-to place for Mexican cuisine.

First time here, LOVE it! Im not a big fan of Mexican food but Ernestos changed my mind. We started off with some drinks, since my stomach only agrees with Vodka, I requested a premium margarita with Vodka base but not tequila. Chris then made me the BEST margarita ever!! He even came check on me for feedback, of course I told him how much I liked it! For food: Beef nachos - great! -- Tender meat and cheesy Bacon wrapped shrimp - great! -- bacon crispy and shrimp perfectly cooked Grill tilapia - great! -- garlic lime sauce is delicious Service was awesome as well. Pamela was friendly and attentive. Most importantly, she got our order right and food arrived quickly, and thank you Pamela for relaying my request of drink resulting a prefect margarita. Well definitely go back. Highly recommended. UPDATE: Went there twice more after first review, and you know what? Everything was GREAT!! All I can say is, their food is GOOD! The staff is nice, friendly and accommodating. Great place for lunch or dinner and the prices arent over priced - like some Tex-Mex restaurants. There is a young lady waitress who worked on 10 March 2022. This was around 8pm. She was very rude and very poor customer service. She needs training as she has no clue on how to be professional. Management needs to train this girl. She is doing this place a disservice. My coworkers loved coming to this place but of late they have had poor service too. Edgar is the guy you should have as a host! It was my son s birthday celebration that we went to celebrate. The food was excellent and we had not had it this good in Frisco/Dallas area from last 5 years. Edgar spoke just a bit of English but he was flawless in understanding our requests and his service was perfect to a T. We ve tried several Mexican restaurants in the Prosper. Frisco, Little Elm, and McKinney areas. Some are very good, others are just okay. But Ernesto s is GREAT. The Carne Asada and Enchilada combo is fantastic, as well as the queso blanco with brisket. Sweet tea is also on point!

Very, very good Tex-Mex. Two types of salsa, both very flavorful (although our fav was the warm, roasted salsa that reminded us of Uncle Julios). One server dedicated to making sure all tables had plenty of chips and salsa and he did not fail us! Split beef fajitas with husband and kids shared beef tamales. Flour tortillas were thin and soft, beef cooked to a perfect medium. Kids said the tamales were too saucy, but they still cleaned the plate. No leftovers from fajitas either, rice was some of the best Spanish rice Ive tried. Would definitely go back the next time were in the area.
