We had an amazing experience. We had out of town guests from New York, this was a crowd favorite. Wonderful performance! He made a point to wow the children, which really put them at ease, given the fire show that comes with hibachi cooking. The scallops were HUGE as well all of the portions throughout dinner. We enjoyed steak, shrimp, scallops, calamari, and fried rice. The ginger dressing on the salad was fresh and flavorful. They also have a full drink bar and a sushi bar. Kid-friendliness: Boosters and Highchairs are available. The chefs put on shows to entertain and wow children, absolutely a must!

We actually love to spend a lot of our family members birthdays and special occasions here. We visit more often now that it costs about the same as a Chili s or a Texas Roadhouse meal does. Sometimes my wife and I will even split an item as there are always plenty of rice and vegetables, we always leave full. I hear their sushi is good but I love the jalapeño fillet. Unless your party is large, you will sit with complete strangers. Sounds crazy but have we have met a lot of really nice and interesting people there too. Never a bad experience. Last but not least. The Chef s, not all are equal in the energy they cook with, but regardless, I still enjoy watching them use their knife skills, huge puffs of flames and still love watching the volcano onion fire.

One of the best hibachi places in the area. This location is mostly accessible friendly though it does not have the best angles for approach. There is accessible parking but not very much. It is easily visible from the highway however not necessarily easily accessible unless youre on the northbound access ramp or you cut through the hotel behind. The hotel behind however has speed bumps making it difficult to cut through. Parking is decent but they need more parking space and this is due to poor design around the area. The parking lot has a decent amount of spaces but not quite enough for the entire business. The bathrooms are good and always clean but a little dark. The restaurant and the bathrooms both seem to be clean every time Im there and we havent really had a cleanliness issue one yet. The food quality is great and I think Ive maybe had two times out of 10 that the quality wasnt perfect. The taste is amazing and they have really good flavor on a lot of their stuff. The staff is nothing but friendly and awesome even when theyre busy they make sure to get you taken care of. They are super welcoming and super awesome about getting you taken care of. They do require and request that you have everybody there for your party before youre seated. This is probably the best hibachi in the area and the staff and quality of food are what makes this place special.

The meal and service was underwhelming. I didn t like that the cook had the raw meat on this tray closes to the ground. The shrimp was cooked a little too long so it was tough. 1st time here. Im a fan of Benihanas this place was just as good! My scallops, lobster and shrimp were grilled to perfection. My co-drivers steak was tender and moist he had no complaints! The portions are well worh the price ex shrimp, scallop and lobster fried rice gets a whole lobster tail, 3 scallops and 8 -10 shrimp (lost count watching him grill).Our chef was a great entertainer but our table was dull. They serve soup and salad prior to the meal. I had the large zombie and co driver had a jack and coke, they put lemon in the jack and coke which have it a pleasant taste. They are definitely not skimpy on the liquor.. will definitely come back. Their steps/tile is coming off so watch your step. The decor is old school hibachi, no complaints nice to see somewhere that doesnt adapt to modern decor. Sitting is pretty tight just like at any hibachi Ive been to. Wish there was a way to tip the chef separately!!! Will definitely go back!

This was a great place to have a birthday lunch! We placed a reservation for 7 people and they were very accommodating, seating us quickly and serving us very fast. The wait staff is efficient and brought our drinks, soups, and salads out almost immediately. The chef was kind and funny, cracking jokes and showing off his expertise at the table. As for the food, we thought it was good, but nothing amazing. The miso soup was very tasty and had a fruity spice to it, similar to fresh black pepper. The ginger salad was fresh but had a little too much dressing. We all ordered the fried rice which was tasty and well seasoned, but had some pieces that were a little crispy for our taste. That being said, the chef served in a cute heart mold that we thought was very precious. The teriyaki chicken was sweet, spicy, and perfectly cooked. The steak was well seasoned and the salmon was crispy and very flakey. We felt the pricing for the entrees was very fair for the amount of food you get. The appetizers and drinks on the other hand are a little pricey, so we mostly skipped. Overall, for the price, we thought it was very fair. The taste was great and had a great time watching the chef prepare our food. I can definitely see us coming back here in the future.

Not sure how anyone would rate this place high unless youre going for sushi. The sushi was some of the best sushi Ive had in the plano/mckinney area. However the hibachi was the worst Ive ever had. Idk where to start. Our steak was loaded with gristle and fat, our rice had 0 flavor, the vegetables literally tasted like raw barely cooked no seasoning vegetables and the sauce is an absolute embarrassment to the word hibachi. If youre not serving a teriyaki sauce with the spicy sauce idk how you can consider yourself hibachi. Who serves mustard at hibachi? Its like a Chinese restaurant wanting to be a hibachi restaurant. Im completely unsure how this place has this high of a rating and I dont like just leaving negative reviews and usually feel bad when I do. However for the price of this place I feel like people should know if youre going for sushi itll be amazing if youre going for hibachi/teppenyaki it has 0 flavor, weird sauces and terrible meat quality. Theres this one young lady that works the bar that has great customer service. She smiles and treats EVERYONE great no matter the color creed or nature of that person. Everyone else just looks upside your head if your black and cultured especially, maybe its reasonable bias in there eyesight but the young lady was immaculate. I do believe she is the youngest bartender that works there currently. If you go make sure she serves you and tip her because its totally worth her customer service

After fifteen years I was disappointed for the first time ever as was the couple who sat with us at the table. Every portion of the food was poor, the rice was burnt and the shrimp I was unable to eat. But what was more disappointing was the restaurant placing the value of the dollar today over a visit from me tomorrow. The manager saw how poorly the food was prepared that he brought us out two cups of rice. One for my family and the other for the other family. Noticeably different. When the chef walked to the next table he told us he was new and that he saw the challenges. The waitress who has waited on for 15-18 years was unaffected by our I m sorry this was not edible , she said. I took off thirty dollars here you go are you ready to pay. My bill after thirty dollars off was still 140. My wife insisted we pack the shrimp to give it to someone who may be hungry even though we couldn t eat three orders of shrimp. The vegetables were bad and again we got one cup of cooked rice as compensation for three orders of burned rice. The cook was already at the next table preparing to fall short on their standards, which sadly tells me a lot. The entire experience in how they knew and how the handled it was surpringsly disappointed. As mentioned the manager acknowledged that we all are clients of years, yet we were all treated like we wanted something free. SMH. I am glad you got your 140, plus 15% tip. I normally tip 30% because this unfortunately will be my last visit for awhile.

Awful experience! 12 shrimp, two one half chicken breast, 8 oz steak, an Alaskan roll, rice and veggies is not $320!! Prices listed online are not the prices on the menu. Terrible service, server was quite rude that we wanted to place our order all at once, WTH. Ordered Veggie dinner, got the exact same amount of veggies as everyone else who ordered meals w/ meat.... $4 upcharge for fried rice per plate is utterly unacceptable. We went there for my son s birthday. The chef hardly spoke to us. The waitress forgot to tell him it was my son s birthday and that we have a gluten allergy. They did like real bad packing for delivery order. Im a door dash food deliver and their soup was all over my car and door dash would not pay for any compensation. Got like 5 bucks for the order and spend $30 for car cleaning. Thanks!

Great food and sushi spot Ive picked up from several times. And drinks are very strong! However we decided to try their hibachi recently to celebrate my sons 17th birthday for their large horseshoe tables that fit bigger groups. Our table of 14 was excited for a fun hibachi show, but I was quite frankly very disappointed with the chef. He had no personality, didnt start a conversation with anyone, and did nothing fun or flashy to entertain - he just cooked. We also told the staff as soon as we started placing orders about a shrimp allergy at our table and told the chef several times as well and he still put shrimp on the one persons plate with allergies so he clearly wasnt caring or paying attention to our guests at all. Towards the end I asked if he had anything special for the birthday boy, and he seemed annoyed and banged one of his utensils on the table as the table sang the happy birthday song. Overall the food and the rest of the staff was amazing but I cant help feeling disappointed due to our lackluster experience with the chef. Dietary restrictions: Beware if you have severe allergies!!

The service was amazing! And if it s your birthday the amazing staff come and sing to you! The food is absolutely delicious. The staff here were so nice and the chef does really cool tricks in front of you! They talk to you and make it such an amazing experience while they cook. It s perfect for special occasions,I highly recommend coming here.

The service was absolutely horrible, the food was at best, mediocre, and very overpriced. This establishment was dirty, old, and just run down. There are many other hibachi restaurants in the area that are clean, fair priced and have amazing food. I definitely would not recommend.

Weve been going to shogun for about 15 years. We normally do sushi. Its consistently good with fresh fish. Occasionally they will have items such as uni. Its usually crowded but we rarely wait too long. Service has always been good.

Food was below average. Waitress is rude and tried to rush the order and not even helpful for us to convey the correct order(Doesnt understand English but acts confidently and messed up the order). The chef wasnt as fun or friendly but infact rude. We actually had good time once he left after cooking food. Food is even undercooked. Over priced, Worst Staff, Also they took it for granted and charged 20% tip for the complete order. Not visiting this place again.
