I was very excited to try Japanese food and decided to try this one out. I have decided to get the Monster Roll with Spicy Pork Rib ramen. The sushi roll was good, but like other said, there are fillers in the sushi. The ramen is great, but the rib is mostly bone and hard to chew on not worth $16 to me. The service was great so 4-star rating they earned.

One of my favorite things to do when I find a small eatery that becomes a favorite of mine, is to bring others there in the hope that they will enjoy it as much as I do. I was not a huge ramen fan (outside of Japan) before I ate here, so I am mostly stuck to the sushi and appetizers, which never failed to disappoint. Once my boyfriend fell in love with one of their Ramen specialties, I began to try different ramen as well and quickly understood why the Ramen here is head and shoulders better than any other Ramen restaurant in a 30 mile radius. Over the course of the last three years of my coming here on my own, with my boyfriend, and with friends and family alike, I have never left the restaurant, not feeling completely satisfied and looking forward to my next meal from here. The server is very knowledgeable about all the dishes and can customize to the diner s specific tastes. For example, my boyfriend does not like bamboo shoots and his Ramen, and so the kitchen removes them before it comes out. Also, what sets this restaurant apart from other sushi restaurants is the gorgeous presentation of the rolls, specialties, and salads. It just adds another layer of positivity to the whole dining experience. Well worth the drive from wherever you are in Collin County.

This was worst restaurant we have ever been to. This place shouldn t even be allowed to operate as a restaurant. This was the first time I ve eaten at a sit down restaurant and didn t leave a tip. To start, we ordered the chicken karaage and this is when we should have known this was going to be a horrible experience. It wasn t chicken karaage at all, rather fried chicken chunks. Japanese chicken karaage should have a light batter that is almost flash-fried. This was a deep fried piece of chicken. Which would have been fine if the chicken wasn t RAW!!!!! I thought it tasted weird, so my wife bit into it and she spat it out right away as she noticed the chicken was completely RAW!!! in the middle. We told the waitress and she informed the chef who didn t really offer an apologize. He offered to remake it, but we were disgusted at the thought of trying it again. My wife and I both got ramen dishes and we got pork buns for our 1 year old. The pork in the ramen and in the buns was AWFUL!! The pork was thin, hard, and tasted spoiled. The eggs inside the ramen were at least a week old, as there was strange discoloring and an awful taste to them. Even the bean sprouts were brown and tasted spoiled. I had a beef rib and it was annoyingly obvious that the rib was very old. It was cold and tasted far from fresh. This place is serving old food to their customers without any concern for their wellbeing. If you get served raw chicken you d think that the restaurant would go above and beyond to make amends. This seemed to be a common issue because the waitress didn t seem phased by what we told her. Maybe all the food was spoiled because they were using leftovers from the week prior (we came the day after the new year), but this is still inexcusable. Long story short, we left all the food on the table, left no tip, and went to Braums to eat dinner. This place should literally reconsider their business practices. And don t serve people spoiled and RAW!!!!! food. Also, did I mention they served us raw chicken?!

Delicious food! We stopped by while house-hunting in McKinney/Princeton area. There was NO one in there, so it was easy and quick to get our food. We loved the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the restaurant. The decor was nice too, a lot of anime artwork on walls. So far I only have one negative of the place: The bathroom. I only took one star off for it because the rest of the restaurant is great, but because the bathroom situation is NOT great, 1 star off. I think the lock is broken on the bathroom door, it would NOT lock and it gave me MAJOR anxiety when going in there to use the restroom, I rushed so quickly because even though there were no other customers, it made me feel very anxious regardless. Id hate to be here on a busy day/night. It had a sign to knock on the door and wait basically...Thats a pretty important thing to fix though as not all people will knock and honor that and could walk in on someone. I dont feel comfortable using their bathroom again for this reason unless I make my husband wait by the door to prevent someone from walking in on me. Thankfully my husband and I were the only patrons at the time at least. Well gladly come back for food if we move to the area, but I really hope theyll fix the bathroom door in the future. Bathrooms that arent multiple stalls need to have a door that locks.

This review is mainly regarding the management of this place. There was only 1 waitress managing all the customers. There were at least half the tables full and just 1 freaking person has been put in charge to manage it all. We waited at least 10min to be seated and people who walked in after us got their orders taken while we sat there for 25min without a soul coming our way (literally the family that got seated right next to us got their orders in within 2-3min after getting seated). If there was an option to give 0 stars, specifically for the management of this place, I wouldve.

The sushi was good. We got the Spider Roll but that ramen was not good AT ALL! The broth had no flavor, the noodles used are just not good for ramen and even the egg had no flavor. I asked for chili sauce thinking I d get some actual chili sauce with chili flakes but it was like a spicy ketchup that did not help the dish at all.. wouldn t recommend if you re looking for good ramen. Would give a nod on the sushi though bc they may have some other good rolls.

Cute spot, nice staff. The salmon sushi rolls have a good majority of salmon instead of using rice as filler. They supply a great amount of soy sauce packets, and the two young ladies at the desk were very nice. Looking forward to trying the Ramen. I usually cook for myself, but I can tell the chefs are good at this spot. Definitely recommended rather than a chain like SushiGo. Seems like a no gimmick kind of spot, which I dig. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and I m glad it s so close to my house. I would usually have to go to Akari in Plano, but they started halving the portions and doubling the prices. Go support them! Vegetarian options: California rolls and other vegetable dishes are available. Parking: Located in a strip mall with a neighborhood wal-mart attached. Kid-friendliness: There s a bar, but it s the suburbs so I m sure they don t get any unruly drunk patrons. Wheelchair accessibility: It s a flat sidewalk to enter.

The restaurant is known for its authentic ramen and sushi. The menu features a variety of ramen dishes, as well as a wide selection of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. I recently visited Hokkaido Ramen House with a few friends and we were all very impressed with the food. We started with the Miso Ramen, which was rich and flavorful. The broth was perfectly seasoned and the noodles were cooked perfectly. For our main course, we ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, the Rainbow Roll, and the Salmon Nigiri. The Spicy Tuna Roll was delicious, with its perfectly seasoned tuna and avocado. The Rainbow Roll was a beautiful sight to behold, with its colorful assortment of fish and vegetables. The Salmon Nigiri was perfectly cooked and served with a generous amount of wasabi and pickled ginger. We also ordered a side of Gyoza, which were crispy and flavorful. The Gyoza were a great way to start our meal and they helped to cleanse our palates between courses. The service at Hokkaido Ramen House was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He was happy to answer our questions and make recommendations. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience at Hokkaido Ramen House. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. We would definitely recommend Hokkaido Ramen House to anyone looking for a great Japanese dining experience in McKinney, TX. Overall, I would give Hokkaido Ramen House & Izakaya a 5 out of 5 stars. It is a great option for people looking for a delicious and authentic Japanese dining experience.

Yeesh, kind of afraid posting this due to the owners nasty responses. But like a few others, my ramen was also very bland and tasteless. And no you do not mix it real good like the owner mentioned as if that would fix the issue. The wait was also roughly 35mins for a single bowl of ramen. The food aside, the waiter was very nice and attentive. As for the atmosphere, it is one of those typical high-ceiling open concept rooms. Im generally not a fan of them due to the constant echoing and everything seeming louder than it has to be, but thats just me personally.

First timer here. Actually found this place in a Facebook group and immediately was drawn to the beef bone in the ramen so decided to try it. Arrived on a Saturday evening and there was no one in the place so I had doubts already but decided to order anyway. I ordered the Tonkotsu Shoyu and my husband ordered the Spicy Beef Ramen with the huge bone, and my boys ordered the Spicy Miso and a couple of rolls (forget which ones). My ramen was pretty good. Only fault was that the broth wasnt as hot as Id like and there wasnt enough broth. But besides that, it was good. My husband said his Spicy Beef Ramen was not even spicy at all, the broth was lacking flavor, not even hot - it was cool, and not enough broth. The sushi roll was good, the portions size was great and the price was good as well. Overall I would give this place is a 4star for service and ramen is 3 star and sushi roll is 5star. The reason why Im giving this place a 3 star is because they charged me for ginger. Im sorry but when ordering sushi rolls anywhere, ginger comes with it. Okay, I did ask for extra ginger because I ordered 2 rolls and they gave me 3 pieces of ginger. Charging me $1 for extra ginger when sushi rolls are suppose to come with ginger. I dont mind paying extra for ginger but give me what I pay for first before charging me extra. Hopefully, the owners will see this review and fix it.

Edit: Thank you for adjusting your hours online. While the correct hours are on the door, most people don t drive to a restaurant to see when it opens. They look online before hoping in their cars. Please adjust your hours online to reflect what time you actually open!! We arrived, with two other families arriving at the same time. We arrived at 11:30 on a Sunday morning, which is when it says you open online. There was seemingly no staff in the restaurant, yet doors were open. We were told it would be 5 minutes by a kitchen staff member. 10 minutes later an employee walked in and said they don t open until 12:00. Please accurately reflect your opening times online and maybe lock your door if you don t want people coming in expecting to be able to eat.

Next time Ill try the vegetable crunchy peanut roll. Parking: Big parking lot.

The presentation of the foods we ordered was above and beyond, just absolutely beautiful. They have boba teas, but were out of tapioca balls today, so we skipped that. My mom ordered jasmine tea and thought it was unusually bitter; she said she wouldnt order it again. We ordered chicken gyoza, tuna rolls, spicy beef ramen, chicken rich ramen, and vanilla mochi ice cream. The gyoza was good, the tuna rolls were great (our waitress even offered spicy mayonnaise dip on the side). The spicy beef ramen was not spicy but was delicious. The meat was very tender, barely required any chewing, but had to be removed from gristle and bone, which didnt bother me but bothered my mom. The chicken rich ramen was very rich and I would absolutely order it again. On a negative note, none of the beef or chicken seemed to be seasoned at all. When we ordered mochi ice cream, I was expecting a ball or two. What we received instead was beautifully presented. It was the equivalent of maybe three mochi ice cream balls, definitely enough to serve three to four people. I commented at one point that I used to live in Japan. At the end of the meal, my waitress wrote on the receipt, which I thought was a very nice, personalized touch. I dont know whether she really understands Japanese, but I wrote back in case she does. I was extremely pleased with the visit overall and will very definitely come back.

Went for our first ramen experience! I had no idea what to expect so we went in on a Sunday night. 3 tables in the whole restaurant. Got sat and took a little while for anyone to come by. I told the waitress that we had never been to a ramen restaurant before so I wasnt sure what a lot of the items were. I asked her for recommendations and her response was well its up to you. Was hoping for a little more insight to the menu.........so I just randomly picked one......we did have pot stickers to start which were good. I ordered the spicy ramen and wife ordered the chicken rich. They were ok. The 2 waitresses were sitting at the host stand on their phones.......... No one came by to check on us, no refills offered, they kept walking past us and then just dropped the check without offering any desserts. I had to ask if they had desserts as I was still hungry from dinner. She said they do but all they have is mochi ice cream. We were excited about trying something new and were left disappointed. We will def try other ramen dishes but itll be at another ramen place.

Edit: I have come back to Hokkaido once again because Ive heard good reviews about this place. Not for naught, the food this time was bomb and I was finally able to eat vegetarian ramen for the first time in a restaurant that wasnt overly (or under) salty! The atmosphere was really pleasant since we came in for an early dinner and not many people were around. Even when more people did start filling in, it was nice to people watch and see what types of people came to this restaurant. Both me and my mums food came out fairly quickly and both tasted delicious! 10/10 thanks for the delicious dinner Vegetarian options: I didnt technically order a vegetarian option, I ordered the Garlic tonkatsu ramen, but thankfully the waiter was very understanding and let me replace the chicken broth with soy instead. Thank you kitchen staff! The ramen was truly delicious and it didnt taste overly salty or bland which is amazing. I havent been able to eat good restaurant ramen in a bit so this was a very nice surprise.

BAD THINGS FIRST, GOOD THINGS AT THE END. I feel bad for leaving this review but the Ramen is not served well here. The Ramen tastes as if there were no seasoning whatsoever, diluted and cold, not hearty or savory at all(mind you, I ordered two different types, beef and pork). You can eat the Ramen as soon as it arrives to your table, that is how cold it is, not cold to the touch, but cold in the sense that it is not even lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for 20 mins before they served it. The Ramen hardly comes with any broth. You can even see the photos and other peoples reviews on here, you can hardly see the broth, if at all. Here is the GOOD. The sushi is extremely good, like they should rebrand this establishment as a sushi place. On top of that, the sushi is very affordable for the quality you receive, surprisingly affordable. Although I have a quarrel with the Ramen taste, broth temperature and portion, the Ramen was very well done in terms of ingredients and quality. The noodles did not clump together, they were not over cooked or under-cooked either. The ambience and customer service make this place stand out. From the cleanliness, plating, dinnerware and servers, the place is a gem. I could understand why many people eat here, especially ordering sushi. I want to like this place, the sushi alone is worth it, but the Ramen was very underwhelming. I honestly will return for the sushi, but I hope they read this and address the temp and portion of the broth, as I can understand the taste is subjective.

Maybe. Im Dallas bias, but for anyone who has been to Wabi House in lower greenville might can understand this review. Since moving from Dallas we find ourselves traveling back to Dallas, Richardson, and Plano for better asian cuisine. I feel that most asian restaurants in the McKinney/Frisco lack soul in their cooking. Hokkaido falls into this category. Once again living so far from Wabi House now whenever we are in Dallas we almost always eat there, and the flavor is always consistent (excellent). The Chicken Karaage at Hokkaido is utterly disrespectful in presentation and the size of the pieces given. Another plus to Wabi House for again being consistent with flavor and cuts of chicken. Lastly the temperature of the ramen at Hokkaido is luke warm at best. I normally dont leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so as Hokkaido, in my opinion, has lots of work to do. For anyone who goes to Dallas and youre in the mood for ramen please visit Wabi House and I think youll see the difference.

The Spicy Beef Ramen was the reason I wanted to try it out since I have seen Beef Rib Pho before, but this one tasted more like Pho than Ramen to me. I guess I am used to pork broth more? The rib itself makes it worth the $1-2 more than the other bowls, however the extra piece of what looks like brisket was super lean and tough.

I m a big fan of noodles and I absolutely love the environment and food at this place. Usually I pass by every week to have a bowl of ramen. My favorite one is the spicy beef ramen, it comes with a short rib and several slices of beef inside a very delicious beef broth. I also got the chance to work here as a part time server during July and August at dinner time. So I had the chance to see how exactly the chief made the ramen. There s three type of broth: pork, beef, and chicken. Every broth were boiled with real meats and bones in a huge aluminum pot. The chief would boil it for 8 hours then use it as broth. From what I ve seen, there s not any flavoring added into the broth and it s 100% real broth made to taste authentic.

It was also my first time, so I got a free boba tea, she helped me order, as Im fairly inexperienced with boba tea. The sushi was a very fair price of $5.95 a roll, and in my opinion, fair sized 8 piece rolls. The salmon was fresh, not fishy at all. The California roll is crabstick, not crab salad, but still fresh and tasty. I cant eat ramen or pokè due to aforementioned allergy, but the bowls looked and smelled AMAZING, and my husband definitely plans to go try them soon.
