A good takeout option in the area. Kids menu included. We got a side of Greek fries, very good. The add on chicken to the med bowl was kind of dry. Recommend the harissa Gyro.

We love this place! One of our favorites! When they first opened they were a sit down with wait staff. They are now fast casual with an updated dining area with comfortable seating. Try it! You won t be disappointed if you love traditional Greek food!

We used to eat at Santorini quite often and the food and service was great. Now since they changed the place is not good. The food is way over priced, the hummus has no flavor and the food in general was not good. The door says they are open until 9 but the kitchen closes as 8:30 and they kicked us out by 8:45. I will NOT be eating here again. There are many other options in McKinney that are great. Blue Olive and Sheesh are much better.

I ordered the Gyro Platter and for this place to say its authentic, that cannot be true. Little Greek taste way better than this. My gyro meat was burnt, with no flavor, it didnt even have the taste of gyro meat, the bread was hard and old, my salad was not fresh, and the fries were just thrown in the basket any kind of way. I couldnt even enjoy the meal, it was absolutely disgusting. I would never purchase another item from this restaurant. Not too mention for 17.95, the portions are very very small. The best part about the entire meal was the Tzatziki sauce. Im a first time customer and this will be my last time as a customer. Thanks

Soooo disappointed. The other reviews are correct. We went as a family and all left hungry due to the extremely small portions. And very high prices for what you get. If we hear they go back to the old portions, or at least close, well try again. In the meantime, CAVA and Sheesh it is.

The Santorini Greek Grill just reopened after shutting its doors for several months. I was really excited to see their lighted sign that read OPEN! Some of the changes include- * Order at the counter and pay * Get Your own drink and plastic utensils * No In hand menus * Food served on small oval paper plates/plastic dishware During my past visits, I ordered the Grilled Chicken Platter with lemon potatoes, Greek Salad, and Pita bread. This dish was served on a glass dinner plate with a decent size portion of all food. Fast forward to the reopened Santorini Greek Grill. The Greek Chicken Patter was served on a very small oval paper plate. The portion size overall appears to be much smaller. There was very little of the Greek Salad and it lacked the zesty dressing it once had. The lemon potatoe portion was about the same as in the past. The Chicken lacked the flavor it once had. The Santorini Greek Grill was and could return to what made me go and spend my money to eat there. I understand the need to cut conners to save money by not having dishes and silverware to wash. However, the small oval paper plate approach/smaller portions, and the food presentation itself miss the mark of attracting and keeping customers. Owners, your door sign, while closed, said great things were coming! Please make changes before you lose more business. This approach is going to cause your doors to close again. I have said this about other restaurants lacking/missing the mark and have never been wrong yet. Please fix the problem and keep that rude man with no personality from taking peoples orders. Friendly people need to be taking peoples food orders.

Ive eaten at Santorini in the past and it was very good. I dont remember it being so expensive, but I understand that prices are increasing. Although these prices seem steeper than other places. That said I ordered take out and part of the order was the pastichio (layered pasta dish). The dish was unseasoned and bland. It also had a weird tangy taste as if the meat (ground beef) had turned bad. Needless to say it was not consumed for fear of food poisoning. Super disappointing. Im looking for a new greek place.

I came in for lunch and ordered a beef gyro with fries. The first gyro I received wasn t edible. The meat tasted dry and crumbly, the pita was as hard and rough as cardboard. I brought it to their attention and they re-made the sandwich. The meat was vastly improved on the second time. However the pita was still garbage. Gyro s are one of the easiest dishes to make. The cone is pre-made and their pita bread was not made in house, yet they charge $20 for the sandwich. At that price you need to be knocking it out of the park. I don t think I ll ever be back.

We just walked out of this place. We were at the counter, in the middle of placing our order, when someone comes in to pay and pick up a to-go order. The person at the counter then tells us that he s going to take care of that person and for us to move out of the way. You don t EVER tell customers to move or wait when they are in the middle of placing an order. We used to frequent this restaurant, but NEVER AGAIN.

Santorini Greek Grill had been closed for the past few months for Exciting Renovations. While I do admit the place looks amazing, they have totally gone cheap with everything! We used to eat here at least twice a month if not more because they had really good food and our family loves greek foods. That said, we noticed over time the portions were getting smaller and the food quality was going downhill over the past year or so. We were super excited for the Grand Reopening! However, we visited last night and its not so grand. You now order from a limited menu shown on TV screens behind the counter that used to be a bar. No alcohol sales anymore. You order your food from the counter and they bring it out to you. No more Flaming Saganaki Cheese and several other favorites on the menu. Everything is served on plasticware and its almost like a fast-food place you would find at the mall. Very disappointing. In fact, we didnt even stay for dinner because we were so disappointed in the new format. I hope they realize what a huge mistake this was and change back to a good Greek place with full-service dining. Until then, we will not be coming back anymore.

I had surgery a couple weeks ago. Was craving Mediterranean food since I was told to stay away from spicy/oily food. This place is the only halal Mediterranean closest to us. I ve dined in there multiple times no issues except that they just can t make the chicken kabobs right. They are always on the overcooked/dry side despite pointing out to them almost every time. Well, I called them for a pick up order. Reminded them to keep the chicken tender and juicy. The food came home not looking fresh/appetizing at all. Salad was missing I called them to inform about that. The guy on the phone said they don t include salad on to go orders. I said they should have informed at the time when order was being placed over the phone and maybe charge less. He wasn t happy with what I said. Well nobody else complained is what he replied. Well someone is complaining now, what are you going to do about that . He literally just hung up on me. If I were running a business, I would be more considerate and compensate my customers at least by being apologetic. Disappointed! And oh, the kabobs were hard as a rock and gamey. Look at the attached picture do you think it s worth $20?

Greek food in Mckinney redeemed. We came here for a celebratory lunch with the whole family. We had a really bad experience with a different Greek restaurant not too far from here, so we needed to try a new place. Were very happy we did. The food was wonderful and was plated very nicely. Gyros were a hit. The French fries were incredible. Greek side salads could have used some more feta and Veg, but it was at least dressed nicely. A new dish we tried was pastitsio and we loved it! Baked pasta dish that had a cumin kick in the tomato sauce. Lemon potatoes were good. We tried every dessert. We particularly loved that nothing was super sweet. We all have more of a European palate when it comes to sweet things. Chocolate cake was a dark chocolate flavor. Custard pie tasted of custard rather than being buried behind sugar. Baklava tasted of honey, not syrup, so that was excellent. It was a bit soggy, though. I would like to say wed be eating here often. Unfortunately, the price makes that not possible. We spent $200 for the 6 of us, so sadly, it will only be a special visit and not something we could afford to do regularly. Still, were very happy to have found good Greek food in the area.

I LOVE GREEK FOOD. I was raised in Chicago and the food there is awesome. So Texas Greek food is not quite the same. BUT Santorini Greek Grill is wonderful!!! I truly appreciate how moist and tender the Gyro meat is and the chicken too. But to top every thing is the wonderful service I had received when I was placing a large order to go for the office...... Jimmy was wonderful with working though the menu with me. We had moist flavorful meats, fresh soft pita bread and all the hummus an office could want. Jimmy made sure our Dr. Jensens lunch was special made ( he had lamb chops) it was so yummy. A big THANK YOU to Jimmy and his whole staff for making the Bosses Day Luncheon for Jensen Orthodontic Arts a big success. We will be back often..

The restaurant says it opens at 11 a.m. I had to call to ask if they were opening. Someone came to open the doors. I was the first customer there. I ordered a Greek salad with gyro meat. I ordered extra olives and Feta. I was told the order would take 10 minutes. Well, 20 minutes later, I received my salad. I went to work to see they did not give me dressing. My salad did not have onions like it was supposed to. I spent $22 for a Greek salad that was NOT worth it. I will be sticking with Little Greek for my future orders. What a HUGE letdown for a first-time customer.

Solid Greek food and Im Greek. I got to try the chicken and gyro meat which both were very good. If I came back I would get the gyro platter. With the meal you get rice, potatoes, and salad so you get a little of everything. Place was clean and service was good to start with but took awhile for our server to get us our check for how busy it was (it wasnt busy). Now why only 3 stars? The portions are VERY SMALL for the price. My chicken dish was $19 and the gyro platter was $18. I got two small skewers, the portion of rice and salad was 3 bites and you get 1/4th of a potato. You just dont get your moneys worth. Meal should be a max of $12 for the amount of food you get. Overall, if money isnt an issue, come here and you will get a good meal. If youre on a budget, Id look for another Greek place.

We ate here for the first time and the food wasnt bad, considering its hard to find good Greek food around here. However, its not a place we will be going back to. It kind of hit a bit unfavorable when you order a plate that is supposed to come with Greek potatoes and salad, and all you get is 2 small wedges of potatoes that are the equivalent of a wedge french fries and the amount of salad that anyone could eat in 3 bites or less, and 4 tiny slices of pita bread for an entire plate of meat. When you ask for extra slices of pita, they charge you extra. Price was a bit high for what it was. The service (not the meal) was very slow for an empty dinner night. First he spilled some of the water from our glass as he was bringing it over and it spilled right in front of our table and on my feet. He did not clean it up and continued to give us the wet glass. Our pita was extremely dry and possibly microwaved. The meat was very dry aw well. The portions to price ratio is WAY off. Other similar Greek restaurants in the area charge less for larger portions. I paid $1.75 extra to upgrade my fries to Greek style and got a couple crumbles of feta and a mild sprinkle of dried herbs. No tzatziki or anything else. We will not be returning.

It was our first visit to Santorini Greek Grill and was very disappointed with the quality of food and service. Ordered Greek style fries with baked spinach and lentil soup for starters and Chicken Kebab and Falafel Gyro for entree. Fries arrived quickly but felt like it was already prepared since they were barely warm. Given taste of fries, baked spinach starter was better than expected. Again soup was not that great in taste. Also our entrees arrived very very late. Again food was just barely warm. The service was also slow, maybe the lack of staff or something but we wanted a repeat on hot water for my wife which never arrived :( I have eaten at various other Mediterranean/Greek restaurants in DFW area but this was first time we had a disappointing experience.

Walked in at 8:19 on a Thursday, knowing they close at 9. There were no other customers in the restaurant, just my husband and I. There are two guys in the back that I can see, one walks out and tells us the sit wherever. As he goes back into the kitchen, he yells why . Loud enough that my husband can hear him from the bathroom. I sit down waiting, the whole time the two guys sound like they are slamming silverware, and then they yell AGAIN, as my husband is walking out of the restroom. If Google had negative stars, I would ve rated it -5. Will never go back. And will let everyone I know how bad our experience was.

Small place with a pretty standard setup. Food was pretty pricey considering portion size and this was a lunch time order. Got it to go and the staff was helpful (one person). Food was good and tasty, had the beef kabob and it was well cooked, the lemon potatoes was a surprising in a good way.

I paid $20 for 6 chunks of chicken, overcooked/mushy rice, and one single wedge of a potato. The chicken was flavorful but I was shocked at how little food there was for the price.

Nice staff, food came out quick and was very tasty. Across 4 or so visits Ive never had to wait to be seated. Prices seem to have gone up (just like everything else), but not by a bank breaking amount. With the portion sizes and type of food already constituting a light meal however, I would take this into consideration if youre a big eater.

Fell in love with Santorini since the first time we ordered Lamb Shank takeout during pandemic. When revisiting afterwards, were told twice that Lamb Shanks not available. So ordered Lamb Chops instead. Food was always good. Service good enough. Its walking distance from home, will return.

Loved the light and crispy calamari. The Greek soup was flavorful. And the saganaki was divine. Our favorite of the starters! The gyros were delicious and the tsatsiki was good but maybe a bit less lemon? The lamb chops were delicious, moist and perfect at mid-rare. The last time we had such lovely lamb were was at Evvia when we lived in Palo Alto, CA. We liked the baklava but it was hard to cut as it obviously came right out of the fridge. The Greek beer Mythos was crisp and refreshing. Our server made great suggestions and gave wonderful service. We did not get his name. We are so happy to have found Santorinis and look forward to becoming regulars. See you soon!!

Amazing Large Catering Order! My son wanted Greek cuisine for his graduation party and Santorini came up with the most and best reviews. The reviews are 100% accurate! From the moment we called for an estimate for 20 people, Jimmy the manager was friendly, informative and accommodating. We only gave a one day notice and they were able to have our food ready at the exact time quoted. Jimmy even threw in extra dressings, sauces, pita bread and hummus! The food was delicious and we were able to eat on it for 2-3 days until it was gone, nothing went to waste. We will definitely keep them in mind for a quick takeout or catering in the future. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Excited to try what I hoped would be an authentic Greek diner. Disappointed. Tried to order a gyro, beef only, and was told no, they are already made so you have to get lamb/beef mix. Ordered a burger plain and dry - came with lettuce, tomato, olives as the set up which drenched one whole side of the bun. And the burger seemed to be a mix of - you guessed it - beef and lamb. Didnt I just avoid ordering the gyro because I didnt want lamb?? The falafel was burned and had so much garlic, it was burning my tongue! I love garlic, but this was so heavy handed it was overwhelming. And it was a takeout order but they gave us no plastic wear or napkins. Probably worst was the customer service. Everyone with masks - ??? One guy took the order and our cash, then got busy with a phone call. Another guy comes out, talked in Greek to the first guy, pockets the money- still no change given to us- then asks how he can help us. I am multilingual but would never speak in front of others who dont understand - so disrespectful. I told him in no uncertain terms he owed us change. Barely apologized, pulled out a huge wad of bills, and peeled off our change. Having been raised with authentic Greek food/cooking techniques around me, I can say that for me it was a disappointing miss.

The gyro was okay. The spanakopita was great. The Greek salad was dry. We went in open minded looking for a Greek restaurant around our new home and the service was lower than sub par simply based off of being ignored. The waiter Zach was not that interested in helping, serving, or giving us customer service of any kind. We waited on several passes by our table before he acknowledged us.

Been too long since hubby and I had Greek food! This place did NOT disappoint! We both had gyros. I only have two criticisms and I dont think it should actually change my rating. The online menu didnt match with the online ordering menu, so that was a little confusing. The other thing, could have been our fault, was that the tzatziki sauce was mostly up at the top of the gyro and not all the way through. The tzatziki sauce was so good it would have made the gyro that much better! Well be going back for more in the future!

The food is good at Santorini Grill but the price is too high for what they give you. They seem to give you portions in keeping with the price if we actually eat in the restaurant. This was the third time that we did a take-out order from them and have been disappointed at the food to cost ratio. We will probably begin using the Little Greek Grill or Sotiria for take-out. That said, the flavor is good but too expensive to justify. 6 small cubes of beef and one potato wedge for $19 and 5 chicken pieces with only one artichoke quarter in the Chicken al Kalamata for $18 seems high to me. Also, the tirokafteri dip, sold as an appetizer with pita, only comes with a single piece of pita. For nearly $9 I could have made tirokafteri at home...
