Located in downtown McKinney, Tx, 224 E Virginia St... So if you are looking for an awesome cafe, give Hugs a try...Youll be glad you did!...Highly recommend... Parking: Usually there is plenty of parking in the closest public lots... However, when there is any type of festival going on same day you are scheduled to visit Hugs, its a great idea to check your local listing FIRST before you go so you can make a plan!

This place is amazing, great food and great service! Love that they are a nonprofit organization. The salads, sandwiches, and chocolate bourbon pecan pie were delicious! Food was great and the staff was very friendly. They have self serve drinks, but one of the staff members saw my crutches from across the restaurant and came over and asked if he could get my drink for me. The food was well presented and fresh.

Love this place so much I volunteer here! Come by and visit! The food is great! Ive tried much of the menu and havent found anything lacking. The potato salad is great as well as the tomato soup! The chocolate bourbon pecan pie is amazing! And you definitely need to take home a variety bag of cookies!

This is an awesome concept. The staff was beyond awesome as well as the food and service. Too bad all cafes do not give this level of attentiveness to quality, detail and service. We sat outdoors and our grandson loved being able to see the various police cars and vehicles go by.

We re so lucky in McKinney that we have a plethora of great restaurants to choose from, but Hugs Cafe has an added element of sweetness that you can t get anywhere else. Of course their food is delicious (Trust me, we ve tried everything on the menu and have never once been disappointed!) but it s the people that work there that keep us coming back. Watching young men and women doing their jobs with such joy can t help but expand to you. They are a delight! Everyone needs a hug and a Hugs Cafe!

We had heard about Hugs Cafe and met friends there for lunch this week. It was even better than we expected. We were greeted immediately and ushered to a table. The food and service were amazingly good. We ordered a variety of food, and I can personally recommend the delicious tuna salad sandwich and the potato salad. As we were leaving, our waitress was gracious enough to pose for a picture with us.

CONs: The menu may be a tad confusing but the order taker/cashier is helpful to clear it up. Cierra, hostess, is friendly and informative. Marker provided to circle your menu choices. What a delightful experience I had today. I walked in off the street not knowing much about this restaurant but once I entered I was warmly welcomed by the wait staff. I love this place. My daughter and I stumbled on to the gem this past Saturday. We were welcomed with kindness. Staff made us feel like family. Cierra is the sweetest hostess, server you will ever meet. Ricky kept us entertained as he likes to entertain with his witty humor. All Ricky needs is a mic and a beat, he will serenade to you. The food is fresh, well made and very yummy. We have had Saturday lunch at Hugs Cafe for a number of times. Love the sandwiches with their house jams the best (both peach chutney and cherry almond jam are amazing). Highly recommend the Saturday special Monte Cristo. Soups and salads are all great. Almost cannot go wrong with anything here. Super efficient and friendly staff. It is more than a beloved neighborhood cafe. They are fully committed to their mission to provide training and employment to those with disabilities.

Where to begin, Hugs Cafe is one of those rare finds! Walking in it feels very homey feel like stepping into Grandma s kitchen. We were greeted by a kind host and were seated in an open area where there was plenty of light. The lunch-like menu boasted a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and tasty sweet teas to wash it all down. I ordered The Mayor which consisted of turkey, cheddar cheese, bacon, and homemade peach chutney with a side salad and caesar dressing. What I liked best was the peach chutney as it contrasted with the bacon and it was good until the last bite. If I had one complaint it would have to be they did not give me the option to toast my marble rye bread. What sets Hugs Cafe apart is they are a non-profit that employs adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a café setting. Overall my experience at Hugs was amazing and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to eat tasty food and support a cause all at once. Vegetarian options: Yes a lot of salad options. Dietary restrictions: They offer vegetarian options. Parking: The parking location is on the side or on the street. There is not a lot and if you go when it is busy then it may be hard finding parking. Kid-friendliness: Yes the environment is very family oriented. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes from the parking lot there is no restrictions.

The one I spoke to on the phone today, was really nice, and had a good personality!!! Wow, the food here is actually super good. This is probably my favorite joint in downtown McKinney! The grilled cheese was great, the soup was the perfect consistency and taste, and I love that each plate comes with a little hershey s kiss. The atmosphere is very cool and the staff is super friendly. Our food came out in a timely manner which is much appreciated! I don t go in this area often, but if I can make it in time, I would love to come back for lunch again and try something new!

What a wonderful experience. My granddaughters (ages 3 & 5) HAD to take me to this special restaurant with the best Chocolate Chip cookies, so off we went. We were greeted at the door with a big hello and menus for lunch. We then placed our orders (which included Chocolate Chip Cookies) and were seated at our table by another host outside under the Texas blue skies. Lunch was served quite quickly and the plates were presented very nicely. Dare I say, every crumb was eaten by everyone. No takeaway boxes at this table. It was a delightful visit with everyone. This Cafe deserves a big hand and a huge thank you for a wonderful experience. Keep up the good work everyone. Ill be back on my next visit to McKinney.

Hugs cafe is an awesome cafe with an even more awesome cause, the atmosphere was lovely the food was delicious and most importantly the staff was so amazing, loved every minute of my visit! Ill be coming back again soon!

Right now I believe they are only open for lunch. The food is wonderful. The staff is great. I took my Dad and we just LOVED our sandwiches...he had ham and cheese on marble Rye and I had their chicken salad on marbled Rye. We definitely will be back! Keep up the good work!

Hugs Cafe is a McKinney landmark and one of my favorite cafes in Texas. Each time I visit my Homeplace in McKinney I invite old friends to meet up at Hugs for a visit and to catch up. The food is great and the atmosphere is friendly. Hugs Cafe is as good as it gets in Texas! You will love it.

What a delightful eating establishment to enjoy a meal. The group I was with had 15 for lunch and we had preordered. The food was excellent and even cloth napkins and sturdy silverware. The food items were well prepared and attractively served. Hugs is a eating establishment to try!

What an exceptional place to grab lunch! The friendliest service and our food came out quickly. All of our food was delicious and Ill definitely be back on my next visit to McKinney. For a quick tasty bite that fills you up and does so with a good cause, you cant go wrong hugs cafe. Tried their pimento cheese sandwich and it was a first for me, but everyone was happy with their meals, and they have enough traffic they run out of tea by 1pm. Will be back to try other sandwiches.

If you have never been to Hugs, you need to go! This place is awesome! We have been many times and this place is also a special place to us as well as our son is Autistic. The food is also really, really good!! It is a non-profit bistro that employs people with special needs and the people there are always so very nice. Take the time to go if you are in McKinney. Not only will you have a great meal but I promise you will have the service anywhere!!! Love you guys @ Hugs!!
