HI GUYS! Today I went to waffle house and it was DELISH! Me and Mustache man became best friends and I WILL be back to see my bestie. My other greatest friend Nevaeh had a very hard time saying goodbye and I miss her already. PAINFUL EXPERIENCE. We love our Waffle House! But this time, due to a cook ( with a mustache) who was sitting by the counters yelling from the moment we arrived about 1st shift needing to clean up...and everything THEY needed to do before 2nd shift was absolutely unbearable. I dont believe he was on shift yet. We decided as we were ordering, we just couldnt possibly enjoy a meal in that atmosphere. We had hoped he had said his peace, and it would be over but he just kept yelling. Truly crushed as this is one of our favorite locations, we were really looking forward to it. Our waitresses are always fabulous, but this guy was over the top, he had chip on his shoulders and wanted the world to know. I so badly wanted to remind him its a small OPEN space. You could hear him from outside...OUTSIDE. As customers, we dont need to hear you scream over the music and diners what you think 1st shift needs to get done, they know ehat needs to be done. Customers come first, the rest will get done as it gets done. Screaming at the 1st shift gets you nothing, certainly not respect of staff or customers. He clearly knew a list of things that needed to get done, why didnt he jump in and help catch them up? That place can get crazy busy, he should have jumped in, stepped up and taken care of a few things instead of berating the remaining staff continously in front of customers. I was so very tempted to record him and put him on blast. I dont feel it would have done any good. That type of man only hears himself and doesnt deserve any additional attention. We apologized to our waitress, quietly let her know why we were leaving, and left her a tip. That is a perfect example of a toxic work environment. No one should be spoken to like that, not from management and certainly NOT from the cook. Staff should collectively turn him into HR / Corporate immediately. It takes a great team working together to provide a great experience in an iconic place such as Waffle House. We will try again another day as long as he is not present.

Normally I have no issues at this Waffle House, but this morning I ordered coffee and got hot tea with honey, my wife ordered coke they were out of coke so she got water. I asked the server for coffee again and told her I did want the tea, she agreed to make a new pot of coffee, I got hot tea again. I shared the water with my wife but got charged for coffee and coke.

Friendly service, carried by an old time vibe. Felt like I was in one of them western movies/scary movie, where people stop in the middle of nowhere and the servers already know the locals. I loved it! The food was good, can never go wrong with some chocolate/regular waffles. My sandwich was a bit too toasted but thats ok because it still tasted good.

Waffle House Corporate pay attention!!! I always love the food and service here, but today the service was absolutely humiliating. The waitress screamed across the restaurant for me to leave the booth and sit at the bar since I was alone. Mind you there were 2 other open booths and no line. When I tried to explain to her that as a large person I couldn t sit in the small chair she gave me total attitude. She told me because her big boss was there that she was forced to tell me to move. I have eaten here 100 times and never been told to move. She was completely insensitive to the fact that she was humiliating me in front of the other customers. Then after placing my order she brought me items missing off my order, and although she said she could have the items re-ordered she acted like she couldn t care less. Once she dropped my food she never returned. It is sad because they are losing a longtime customer over 1 server.

I went to waffle this morning 4/4/24 and I sat at the high counter, from what I could tell there were 3 workers, a cook and 2 waitresses. NO ONE greeted me as I entered or sat down. I waited for my son to come out the restroom as STILL no one acknowledged my presence or took my order. Being a previous Waffle House employee I know customers are to be greeted when entering the restaurant. This was the poorest service or should I say non service ever received at an establishment. I also believe a couple that was already seated before our arrival also got up and left as soon as we did. You don t take call in orders for whatever reason can a customer at least get service quickly and professionally when we come to patronize your establishment?

Wish I could leave zero stars. I LOVE waffle house, albeit as sketchy as the place can be most of the time. The food is usually great. My experience at the Mckinney location last night however, was not. The cook was bouncing around all over the place acting, lets just say hyper talking about slamming 5 red bulls. He chugs one, sets it beside the other can right in the food prep area (which is of course against health regulations). Then makes a big deal about burning the two waffles he forgot about. He spoke of the burnt waffles about 8 times before he finally quit talking about them. Regardless of this overlookable health concern, I was considered entertained up to this point. Then he started working on our food. One everything was working. Be then grabbed the nasty sprayer and started hosing down the floor (In a manner youd do during a cleaning phase when food isnt actively being cooked). He then proceeded to pickup cardboard from the floor directly, grabbed and moved the dirty mop bucket... then went straight to our toast. Grab it when the same hands/gloves and cut and smashed our toast down on a plate. That was the final straw. I told our waitress we had to leave and she made a big deal about our departure so I kindly told them why. The cook got very defensive and lied about what he had done, as if I wasnt sitting right in front of him during the entire ordeal. I did 15 years in the food service industry and ran an establishment myself, whole holding a food managers permit. What I witnessed is not sanitary or anywhere within the health departments rules. The cook was the acting shift lead, so since he wouldnt accept accountability there was no one else to talk to. When I called this morning their phone line doesnt get you to a person at the store. Clearly not a very professionally ran chain.

Most of the elements for a Waffle House experience were in place. Parking, building, color scheme, seating, menu, etc.. However, the friendly waitress that seems to teleport herself around serving hungry patrons and singing or barking out food orders was off that day and replaced with a polite enough one that moved like molasses and sent off orders like she was slightly confused about where she was. Our food. I had the bacon cheeseburger with smothered hashbrowns, and hubby had the patty melt with hashbrowns smothered, covered, capped and something else. The sandwiches themselves were a little cold but satisfactory. Our skimpy, barely cooked naked hashbrowns were not! She apologized profusely and said it was her fault &offered to remake them, but we declined. Our food was already cold. Waffle House McKinney you let me down! But I love you and Ill return until we get one in Sherman.

We visit this waffle house Christmas Morning every year as our tradition. We are always Thankful for the folks who have to work on a holiday . We try to spread a little Love to each and every employee. Thank y all for another great Christmas Breakfast. We ll see Y all next year

This is the best Waffle House I ve ever been to. Staff is very friendly and the food is always cooked perfectly. I ve very thankful for this location. It s our go-to birthday breakfast spot.
