We come quit a bit, sometimes the service is slow but the food is good. Today was absolutely horrible. My brother kept having to ask for a refill on beer, we waited just about an hr to get our food. It wasnt packed but there were people. There was a group of about 10 that walked in after us and they recieved there food first. Seemed like everyone got there food first besides us. It seemed like everyone knew everyone and we were pushed to the side. The waitress just said sorry and advised our food is coming. The owner walked up to us and asked us how everything was going and I told him the truth the service was terrible. He apologized and asked if we wanted a desert or soda. LOL, well the right the to do was at least offer something to be taken off the bill for inconvenience. He had seen it was my brothers birthday anyway. I enjoyed going to the big axe the atmosphere is cool but this was the last straw for me. I wont be coming back. My advise is to hire more people. Dont come here if your on a time sensitive day and treat all your customers with care.

Went in about 3 weeks ago and I had did a review on the Facebook, and thought Id add my review to Google as well but the wings are amazing we have tried every flavor and none have disappointed. Brian that night took amazing care of our table and made sure we were having a good time. Drinks were ice cold and the food was hot! Great live music and a jukebox to play a wide variety of music that everyone can enjoy! We played pool and tried our hand at the axe throwing. All around a great experience! Parking: In a shopping mall so plenty of parking! Kid-friendliness: Its a family friendly environment

Stopped by on a Friday evening for drinks and a live band. Got a treat with The Stevin Marsh Band. They played some great country music for 4 hours! Our bartender was fantastic and attentive. TVs were playing the Astros and NBA finals. Didnt eat but noticed some food baskets passing by and it looked great. Plenty of room in the main. The Axe tossing and pool room were being remodeled, so didnt get to try any of that. Had a fun time and will be back!

I ordered a margaritas and a Mexican candy shooter for my wife and it was outrageously priced. 13 dollars for a small margarita 9 and change for a tiny Mexican candy shooter. I understand drinks can be pricey but that is not right. Lets revise them prices accordingly.

The few times Ive been here the service has been exremeley slow. The excuse Ive been given in the past was that they were busy. Tonight they were not busy at all. I only went here to support my son in law Desmond Pelt Alvins 2024 Idol winner. The food is good, but they waited to pick and choose who they charge a $5 cover charge to on the check.

My family and I got hungry tonight and I really did not feel like cooking after a long day. It was getting late and there arent really many options in Alvin after 9 PM aside from fast food. I suggested Big Axe. This would be our second time visiting the establishment. Be aware that the restaurant has live entertainment on certain nights (with tonight being one of em). Upon entering, we were told that there would be a $5 cover charge for each of us (4). Feeling dumbfounded, we decided that we should probably go elsewhere and proceeded to walk back to our vehicle. The manager, Brian, ran out to come get us and told us that he would not turn away a family that just wanted to eat--so...we went back in. THANK YOU, BRIAN! The food was delicious (very reasonably priced) and the service was TOP NOTCH! Brian and the servers were very attentive to us and made sure we were very well taken care of. Thank you, Big Axe and the wonderful staff!

Went on a Sunday and there was only 1 waitress and she seemed kind of out of it. Ice tea had no ice and was watered down, appetizer was good but we didnt get plates and couldnt find the waitress so we ate off napkins. Couldnt find the waitress when we needed to pay either. Also wjole we were there, we watched several people come in and then leave because no one was there to greet and seat them. Wont go back. It wasnt terrible but could have been alot better.

I can t believe the place of business handles potential employees the way they did my daughter. She went for an interview, they hired her, gave her a start date of yesterday. She showed up and they told her we forgot we hired you and hired some one else and then sent her home. She asked them who she was speaking to this whole time about having the job and they told she didn t know. What kind of business is this that they would do that to some one! She needed some where to work, she s fixing to be a college student. This is so unprofessional and horrible management.

This was the second time I went to this bar. The second time was just as bad as the first. Rude customers that must be regulars, because they were served quickly. Bartender ignored me. I was surprised when the owner walked behind the bar and stood in front of me for ten minutes. I was holding my card in the air trying to get a drink and was ignored by the bartender and owner. After 15 or twenty minutes passed some guy with glasses came behind the bar, I had to shout at him finally, 25 minutes after I arrived.I got a shot and 2 beers. The customers, bartender, barback, and Owner were rude and unprofessional. I wont be back. I would like to add...I was a bartender for 20 years, and a bar manager for 6 years.

As a local resident and a former Axe regular, I dont like leaving this rating. Alvin has limited choices for bars and restaurants, outside of fast food. Why Corey refuses to put more effort into capitalizing off that opportunity, I have no idea. The bartenders and servers have been and continue to be amazing! That might be the only thing keeping the regulars coming back and attracting others to give it a try. The food used to be good. It was consistent and fresh. There also used to be a daily special. When they expanded the space some months back, they refreshed their menu and added some items. We were optimistic, however quickly disappointed in the quality of the food. My husband and I used to come at least once a week. We decided to take a break from Axe for a couple months to hopefully let all their changes settle. We tried it again last night. It was 7pm on a Saturday following Thanksgiving. There may have been 15-20 people there, total, including the staff. Beers were cold and unfortunately so was the food. I ordered the club, and my turkey chunks were still frozen in the middle. The store-bought frozen fries were the only thing we ate because they were hot. My husband s wrap was soggy. The bartender was great as always, apologetic and offered to remove our food from the bill. We told her it was not her fault, and we will pay for it; we were just disappointed that things were not improving.

We came in for Fathers Day dinner. Place was empty other than a couple of people at the bar. No one greeted us. We set ourselves down. Waitress was nice ordered our food. Brought our food. Then she disappeared until it was time for the bill. Never checked on us never refilled our drinks my daughter had to go and get her own sauce at the window because waitress was nowhere to be found. The food was okay, may have tasted better if we were drinking alcohol? Dont know about the atmosphere there was none on this day anyway. Disappointed after reading all good reviews.

Pretty cool bar. The name is a little deceiving. I thought it was one of those axe throwing places that has a bar and live music. Its more like a bar with live music that has two axe throwing lanes tucked in the back corner. The waitress was great. She came and checked on us frequently. Wasnt overly crowded. We didnt have food. Just came for drinks and live music. Overall, great place to hang out. Recommend and will return.

The food was decent, but my recommendation is to get a print out of your tab after every drink and check the prices. We asked first how much for Blantons, Weller 12 and Eagle Rare and were told all were $16/pour. So imagine my surprise when I got the tab and they charged us $32/pour. Server said she had not inquired about Weller 12, but I watched her write it down. I dont even pay $32/pour for super allocated bourbon like CYPB or Weller SIB. The entire bottle of Weller 12 is $65 retail. So we basically bought 2 bottles and only got 6oz. In addition, table placards say Jack is $4.50, but you can see here they charged us $8. When I asked the bartender, she just said those must be old signs!?! I was surprised at the lack of customer service given there were less than 10 people in the place all night. Do not recommend.

Food has always been fantastic at both of Coreys food locations, tonights server could care less about customer service. We recieved our bill for $108 but once we ran our card there was a processing fee fee for 4 dollars not advertised anywhere nor like stated on our original bill. Ok let s start with the hostess. Tells you to sit wherever then after she checks her phone she will bring you the menus. Waited maybe 10 mins for the waitress to come over to order drinks. Drinks finally come out and we tell her we are ready to order but she didn t bring her notepad so waiting again. I ordered a cheese burger and fries. He ordered the ribeye steak. Burger looked good fries tasted good but there was absolutely no seasoning on that burger. Tiny amount of mayo and again no flavor very bland. Steak full of gristle. Surrounding the entire thing was a layer of gristle. Didn t even bother to say anything cause the waitress didn t come around very often. When we told her we was ready for the check she said ok. I walked next door to check on something at harbor freight and was gone maybe 10 mins. She still had not made it back with the check. I went to the vehicle and sat for another 10-15 mins waiting. Only 2 waitresses on a Friday night, wasn t too busy though, but the hostess could have helped with drinks instead of checking her phone. Their FB page makes it look great but this is definitely a 1 time deal. I really feel 3 stars maybe too much.

The food and drinks were good. The nachos were so-so but the philly cheesteak was very good. The fried pickles were good. Owner and managers are really pretty rude. We had a reserved table for 8 and the owner asked us to either fill up the seats or give them up. Half of our party was watching the axe throwing at the time but kept coming back to the table. They werent prepared for the big crowd and panicked. They cut off drinks to one of our party because he was cheering too loud at the Alvin Idol contest. Seriously, he wasnt at all drunk. They have beignets on the menu but they are really sopapillas. They were flat, had cinnamon, and honey on top. Not doughie. No powdered sugar. Very confused sopapillas. We had three separate checks at our table and there was a lot of mix up. I ended up paying for other peoples food because it was going to be a nightmare to fix. The manager gave my friend a REALLY hard time when my friend asked for the tip to go to the original server and started yelling at my friend. I was shocked. I dont often post negative comments but I feel this place is run poorly. The owner allowed babies and small children to stay until we left at 11pm. Again, I was shocked. The owner was drinking alcohol while working. Isnt that against the law?? Im not sure Ill ever go back and I certainly wont recommend this place to anyone. Parking: Parking was fine. Kid-friendliness: This is NOT a kid-friendly environment even though kids were in there way past 11pm.

I ll start by saying the food was definitely good. I highly recommend the boneless buffalo chicken. Just stay away from the mixed drinks. The bartender looked like she wasn t even old enough to drink what she was serving me. Without a doubt the most disgusting margarita I ve ever had. We were there for the first time on Friday at 6:30. I had several conversations with staff over the phone in the weeks prior to our visit, because we used the axe room to have a small surprise gathering for my sons 18th birthday. There were 12 of us in total. The staff was absolutely lovely - attentive, but not pushy; friendly and excited with us; easy-going and helpful with the axe throwing waivers. My son thought he was attending a job fair there, and they even put a sign on the door - Job Fair Here or something like that! The food was out waaaay more quickly than I expected for our large-ish group and it was good! I had to wait for the french fries to cool off in order to eat them, & my burger was also excellent. Our server was Carina, and there was never a time that we had to leave the axe room in order to get a refill, or to get her attention for anything at all. She was awesome. This kind of experience is why I like to use local businesses. Its working with people who care about the times that make a special memory.

It s a nice atmosphere, but pricey for what you get. The burgers I think could use a lot more flavor, they re really bland. The cheese curds are really good but that s about it, unfortunately. Meh. We visited for the first time today. It was pretty early on a Sunday around 130pm. Service was good enough but the food was unimpressive. We got two appetizers - fried pickles (delicious!) and wings. I didn t try the wings but my husband didn t care for them. He got the hot axe sauce and wasn t crazy about it (he didn t elaborate, just said it wasn t great). It was the entrees that upset us tho. First of all my husbands food was brought out before mine so he waited till my food got there to eat. That annoyed me because his food wasn t hot anymore by the time mine came out. My husband ordered the mushroom Swiss burger no bun. When she brought it out, there was no cheese on it. We could have swore it came with cheese hence mushroom swiss , so we asked our server about it. She insisted it didn t come with cheese and since we assumed she knew the menu, we said okay and moved on. Now that we re home and I checked the menu online it absolutely was supposed to have cheese and that genuinely ticked me off. Clearly the cooks and waitstaff don t know the menu so we got a subpar burger because they re not well trained. The burger itself wasn t seasoned well and just tasted like cooked meat. The cheese situation alone is reason we ll never go back, but my dish was just as underwhelming. I got the Buffalo chicken wrap and asked them to add pickles. First, the Buffalo chicken wrap was HUGE! The tortilla was the size of my face and it was grilled and crispy. But I m not kidding when I say they had barely any chicken in it at all. It was so beyond disappointing :( it was 90% lettuce, 10% chicken and I counted only two pickles I left most of my tortilla on the plate because there wasn t enough chicken to eat with it. It doesn t come with fries so I ordered some on the side. They were good. The ranch was really watery though so it was hard to dip my fries in it because it didn t stick to my fries it just ran right off. I know this may not seem like the worst experience ever but the missing Swiss on the MUSHROOM SWISS burger and the fact our server didn t have a damn clue (and clearly the cooks don t either) reallllly ticked me off. The portions in general were small and we left feeling underwhelmed in general. Both of us said when we were done eating we were glad we ordered appetizers because we d still be hungry if we didn t. Won t be going back.

I kept seeing the food was good so I ordered coconut shrimp and chicken fried steak. Shrimp are stated to be Jumbo, I got medium at best that were over cooked. The chicken fried steak was flavorless and cold even though I picked up in 15 minutes like they asked. The gravy didnt even have flavor. Worst part is there was noticeable BLEACH in the mashed potatoes. $30. I could have spent $10 at Burger King and been much happier. I just dont see why people said the food was great. I dont like leaving bad reviews but I was excited and never eat out. Now I am still hungry with bleach taste and bland batter in my mouth after $30. This is why I dont eat out anymore.

Great service and food. We got the tator tots, which I forgot to take a picture of. They were so delicious! Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. For the entree I got the hamburger steak. I told my hubby this was hamburger steak on crack! So delicious and beefy. The garlic mashed taters were yummy as well. My hubby got the club sandwich and onion rings. Both were really good. They also have a really nice stocked bar with lots of beer on tap. We highly recommend this place. Well try the axe throwing next time.

Our first time but food was actually good for a small grill, they serve crawfish for those interested, large bar with good variety, nice decor, friendly staff, axe throwing (awesome)! One of the owners personally comes by and checks your satisfaction, thanks you for coming, explains the concept and continually points out things to the staff to achieve a perfect environment.
