First, the environment is so fun. Live music, kids playing, nice staff, good food. I do want to acknowledge that the 4 instead of 5 stars is because we waited an hour to get our food, they gave us the wrong side, and their system to serve food to you seems distressing to the food runner. They give you buzzers to know when your food is ready but you dont go get it, the food runner has to search for you everywhere. We watched the poor guy spin circles with a tray for over 10 minutes because he couldnt find whose buzzer was going off amongst the throng of people. We ended up having to take our food to go because we had a babysitter waiting and the food took way longer than reasonable to get to us. It helped that we were able to go to the bar and tide over with drinks while we waited. When we ate at home we found the ribs had good flavor and were tender but needed some salt - as did the potato casserole. The bbq sauce seemed tomato forward which I liked. My loaded tots were a great value / filling and flavorful but had very few onions or cilantro which it really needed to combat the richness of cheese and pork. Absolutely bring chairs to sit on the lawn if you are arriving past 6:30 - tables were a scarcity. We will definitely be back to give food another go - if the wait is routinely that long it will probably just be a place we go for drinks. Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring kids. They re encouraged to run free and have fun!

I drive past Corner BBQ Shack every day on my way to and from work and always thought it looked neat, looks busy and photos of the food online look great. I decided to give it a try today. I never leave bad reviews as you can see from my review history I usually leave a good review with good experiences or dont review at all if it is not good. Im not out to hurt small local business even with a bad experience but this was just bad. Shouldnt have to microwave food when you pay $24 and $18 respectively for the plates you see here. The portions are not good, the food was fine but nothing to write home about. I would absolutely recommend spending the tiny bit extra, or maybe even the same, at Hutchins BBQ or Tender Smokehouse. I spent over $57 with tax, online fee, and tips for two plates and it was barely worth half of that. Out of just two meals that I ordered they forgot one side, I had to drive back for. The thing that really threw me off big time and really the only reason I decided to leave a review is I asked the gentleman at the front if they had onions and jalapenos to throw in there and his response was They dont usually come with it... But I can sub out your pickles for them. To which my response was come on man, I tipped you $8... Well, I get home to find out they really subbed out my pickles for jalapenos.. I would have paid whatever little bit they asked for the jalapenos and onions or pickles, though I am sure it would have been another $5. 10/10 do not recommend. GO TO HUTCHINS!! its not that far, you get double the portions, the food is fresh, and the price is the same or less!!!

This is a place where kids are allowed to run wild, screaming louder than the bands that play, and kicking soccer balls and throwing footballs at the Patrons. If that is what you like, go for it. If you prefer to NOT always be on your guard, defending yourself from flying objects, then go somewhere else. Its too bad that this is allowed to happen, because they have several events planned that we wanted to attend. We wont be back. The food is adequate, but not the best. Hutchins BBQ in McKinney is much better.

Not only was the food good, but the atmosphere is relaxed. Kids being kids and playing while live music was going. Rare to see nowadays. Also stopped in the shop to pick up some coffee and sausage and the owner came and gave me some jerky to try, and it was some of the best Ive tried. Ill definitely be back.

Found this little gem by accident. Great vibe. Absolutely amazing food. A little pricier than it needed to be. Food and drinks are seperate transactions. Only a minor inconvenience. I originally visited to grab some Biltong and Droewor sausage but stumbled upon their BBQ shack. This quaint and charming spot boasts a nice little bar, both shaded and unshaded seating, and plenty of space for the kids to play. In the evenings, it looks like they even have live bands, adding to the delightful atmosphere. Adjacent to the BBQ shack is their boutique-style butcher shop. It has a unique feel and offers an array of homemade jams, biltong, and other items. All their meat comes from their own farm-raised, grass-fed cattle, reflecting a higher price point but clear superior quality. The variety of sausages and meats is impressive, and the friendly staff makes the experience even better. Plus, theres ample parking! I tried their BBQ two-meat dish with fried okra, and it was phenomenal one of the best BBQs I ve ever had. The meat was tender, moist, and bursting with flavor, complemented perfectly by their sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. The portions were just right. When I got home, I opened up the Biltong and Droewors and was equally impressed. They had amazing flavor, were perfectly moist, and incredibly fresh. This place is the only place I ll eat bbq that isn t homemade. As a Texan, this style of food is part of our culture, and Hutchins might have the non-locals captured, but it s got nothing on this place. We also buy a lot of our meat here, as the interior meat market is unmatched. If you re in the area, you must come give it a try. If you re a long drive away, make a weekend outing out of it and bring a cooler.

Based on the reviews I was excited to try this place. The atmosphere and staff were fantastic. The food not so much. I got the jalapeño sausage, brisket, ribs and a side of onion rings. All of the meat was lukewarm at best. The flavor of the sausage and brisket was ok. The ribs from a pure taste standpoint were inedible, I took two bites and threw them away (I have never thrown ribs away before). Onion rings were hot and the best thing I had there. Food is subjective but for me, this wasnt the place. Others obviously like it and I am glad the local business owner has their support.

Really amazing moist brisket, chunky ribs which I would put as my #1 in the area - that dry rub is amazing. We like our brisket fatty and some dont (no idea why!). Grossly gummy pulled pork, inedible. Tasted stale. Under cooked jalepeno sausage, served cold. Who calls that bbq? Macaroni with hard pasta, dense, undercooked and no telling what kind of cheese sauce that was supposed to be. How can you mess up loaded French fries? I asked for queso on the side. They cant do that. So, Loaded fries came out with about about tablespoon smoked brisket on top of cheap frozen fries, thats it. Aioli was something tasteless and white. I cannot imagine a more fun or unique experience. Amazing BBQ. Spices were well done and the food is flavorful. They make all their own sauces and jar a ton of unique offerings. Fresh steak is available on Friday and Saturday from their own herd and processing company. The bands are great and the facility is just flat cool. It is my new spot. Worth a trip. Im giving my honest opinion here. The staff is super friendly and engaging with their customers but unfortunately the food is horrible. Ive had lots of very good and bad BBQ here in Texas from Dallas to Austin and down to Houston. This place is simply horrible when it comes to taste and flavor. BBQ can be subjective on the person because not everyone likes lean or fat or dry or moist its all on the person so that being said the flavor was super bland and just tasted bad. Yes, the brisket was pretty much only fat and the ribs were very chewy. Not worth the money at all. Do yourself a favor and grab the jalapeno sausage because no one can mess that up and it was the only thing that was palatable. My friends and family felt the same and Id never go back for the food!!! Be warned!

As a lifelong resident, I have eaten and cooked the best BBQ across the state of Texas. With this being said, I have never experienced a better combination of perfectly executed smoked meats than the Corner BBQ shack offers. This is the kind of place you eat at once and realize how ridiculous prices are at the more marketed BBQ joints with long lines. Cute place out in the country with a great vibe. We went for brunch and while the food we had was excellent (brisket breakfast tacos), there were only 3 items on the brunch menu. I would love to see a few more items or even brunch side items. We had to go to the bar to order soft drinks which was a bit inconvenient due to people congregating. Make sure you check to see if they are open before you go. The hours on the website and at the restaurant state that they open on Sunday at 8 AM, but they do not open until 9 AM. We arrived shortly after 8 on Sunday but were disappointed as the chef advised that they do not open until 9 so we had to go elsewhere to eat. Looking forward to trying this place next time.

What a fantastic hidden gem in Mckinney! Saturdays they are smoking amazing TX bbq and IT IS AMAZING! Ordered the dino-rib, jalapeño cheddar sausage, loaded baked potato casserole, and pasta salad. Surprisingly perfect meal for two. The beef rib was tender, well seasoned, and unctuous. Jalapeño cheese sausage was one of the best I ve tried. Sides were pretty good too. Brisket was good. Got moist, except there was too much fat left on. For the price, Id expect some trimming. Coleslaw was inedible. Outstanding breakfast. Outstanding lunch. But the best part is their butcher is on site and can cut, wrap & seal any cut if available. The filets were 10/10. Plus - This is also one of the nicest families and staff you ll ever meet!

Love this place! Go for lunch and get the hot pastrami sandwich, its to die for!! Parking: They have a great parking lot and some overflow space too. Kid-friendliness: Great lawn for the kids to run in, and if you go in the fall they have pumpkins and a hay maze . Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of handicap parking. There is a ramp to get up to the seating area. The tables are all picnic tables with one round table with chairs.

Top notch BBQ. Everything I have tried is excellent, I keep moving down the menu each visit. Whats better than excellent food, excellent service to compliment. From the pit master to the owner coming over to check in and crack a few jokes, I couldnt ask for a better all around experience. My only complaint is that there is only so much I can eat, its hard to stop even when full. The food is that good!

Fresh BBQ on Saturdays is an absolute treat, but even in the middle of the week its a great option for lunch. The Owner is an amazing dude and the rest of the staff are all wonderful. Loved getting lunch and grabbing some fresh steaks and eggs from the store. Ive found my new butcher and BBQ joint. Will be back again, and again, and again...

Some of the best barbecue Ive ever had. My husband got a huge pile of ribs but could only eat a couple and we took the rest home. The owners are friendly. They sell homemade items in the shop. Theyre building an outdoor bar. Theres only outdoor seating but they have fans and misters. The meat is all from their ranch of over 300 acres. Please go visit. If you like barbecue, youll love it.

We arrived right at the end of their hours. The owner came out and was extremely kind, and stayed open so we could eat. He gave us a tour of the facility and a detailed background of the property and business. Wonderful people and excellent food!

This place was amazing! What a hidden gem. The pulled pork was delicious, and the cornbread and coleslaw were the best I ve ever had. Banana pudding was yummy too. It was nice to be able to sit outside on a hot day because they have fans and misters. Definitely will be back.

Love their barbecue but makes them so unique is the variety -several different sausages, ribs, turkey, meatball subs, banana pudding and on and on BUT the Pastrami is out of this world!!!! Love how Jill & John are hands on with the family all around and Bryan s food is just amazing!!! It s a top class experience

Just stopped by after checking out the Collin County Farm Museum. This place is great for a Saturday lunch spot. The master butcher offered a free beer since it was our first time. In terms of food- brisket was great and jalapeño sausage. The potato casserole is a must! It was great to get out of town and have 4 generations eating together- see the picture.

Always on the hunt for great BBQ. What a fantastic find. Sampled the brisket, ribs, cheddar/jalapeño sausage, fire of ring sausage, pastrami and meatballs. Yes I said meatballs which are made on the farm. The sides were seasoned to perfection cowboy beans, potato casserole and jalapeño cornbread which is a must try. The banana pudding had strawberries too. We will be back

Brisket is better than Hutchins, Tinders, or Hard Eight. Beef comes straight from the ranch to the smoker (Cornerstone Farms). Very friendly, down to earth, honest people. We will make this place our go to for BBQ! They also have ranch fresh beef, eggs, etc for sale.

Wife and I had BBQ lunch and picked up order from market. Lunch and special order of beef were superb! They held our special order in cooler until we finished lunch. We are now regular customers, met John the owner and look forward to the new indoor market/BBQ facility being completed!
