Older lady waiting tables in the garage was genuinely soo rude. Asked for butter, she said they didnt have any in the most condescending way. Had black stuff floating in the bottom of my tea. So dismissive and rude about it. Food was also so mid. Chicken and waffles with no flavor, and queso that tasted like it came from a jar in the grocery store. Server wouldn t have known if we enjoyed anything because she never came by to ask. Skip this place, literally go anywhere else and you ll have a better time and better food.

Best thing about this place...no kids! Its attached to Spoons and has the same food menu, but its meant to be more of an adult bar. Great place for salads, but everything else is disappointing. My BLT was very small, had hardly any bacon on it and the bread did not taste like sourdough. Also disappointed that many of the cocktails are premade in batches...not made fresh to order. Our server was wonderful though.

Came in here for the first time and it is centrally located in the heart of historic McKinney. The service was attentive and the decor and ambience nice. The food is superior, especially when you consider this place to be like a diner. it is both flavorful and unique. But it s not so unique that it takes you outside of a comfort zone. Well-balanced. Bravo!

Im gonna give it two stars because the lady was I guess nice about it. Went in yesterday for mother s day with my in laws and my kids. They welcomed us with dirty looks and then the lady proceeded to tell us usually they don t accept anyone under 18 yrs old but since it was Mother s Day they would make an exception. It was pouring outside so we thought we would just stay. We waited for about 10 mins and she came back and told us she had misunderstood and could absolutely not take us with kids but would let us go through the kitchen to the other restaurant Spoons. Already upset we had to say yes due to the rain, as we are being walked around the restaurant we see a table with KIDS! One of them looked to be the same age as one of my kids. This is absurd. Not sure why they didn t want to take us but I ve never experienced this!! If they re not going to take us with kids shouldn t they say no kids to the rest of the people??!? Shame on them!

This place has great food. My husband ordered chicken fried chicken with eggs and cottage potatoes, and it was so tender and juicy. However, it did come out about 7 minutes after his eggs and potatoes. That was not our servers fault, though. It was the kitchen not reading her ticket correctly. I had the Karen Special and it was delicious. Overall, we found this place to be great. It is the adult alternative to Spoon, making it the quieter option.

It honestly filled us up way more than we intended before our entrees. I got the country fried steak, okra, mashed taters, and he got the club sandwich with fries. To me, the country fried steak lacked flavor/salt but the portion was huge and very filling; the okra was fantastic as were the fries. And my husband was happy with his club and old fashioned drink. We will definitely be back! :)

Tiny restaurant with a very laid-back vibe and great service. We walked right in and self seated. The staff immediately acknowledged us and asked for our drink order. A few minutes another server asked for our drink order as well. It was very clear that the staff helps each other out and arent just tending to their own tables. This made service very fast and efficient. We had one of their draught beers, Freaky Deaky. It was really good and ice cold. We ordered the nachos, with out the chorizo and the frito pie and added jalapenos to it. The food came our very fast, but surprisingly it wasnt hot. The frito pie serving was huge and very tasty, but the chili was suspiciously very similar to canned chili in taste and texture. I eat canned chili occasionally, so I didnt mind but if youre looking for something special this is not the dish for you. Regardless, it was damn good and I would order it again. The nachos were a good size and looked so delicious. It had two different kinds of cheese, queso and shredded, and it had grilled diced red and green bell peppers on top. It came with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream on the side. The taste and texture of the queso reminded me of Campbells soup cheese base mixed with other cheese and ingredients. The nachos were just okay...maybe the chorizo makes all the difference. I would come back to try some of their other food. We sat next to the kitchen and all the dishes looked damn good and the portions were big. I loved the atmosphere, especially the fact they dont allow children. Its a great place to chill and enjoy the day.

Started my 9-year anniversary off here with my wife. Third time here and not diappointed any time. Brett the bartender has come up aces with drinks, service, and great music and vibes every time. Served our dinner by rookie Darcy who was outgoing, considerate, and very friendly. Food is a 4-4.5. We had salads w grilled chicken, burgers, fries, onkra, and chili. All solid. Service is a 5 out of 5. Beverages are a 5 out of 5. Music was varied, interesting, fun, and perfect for the more casual scene. If you havent been, youre missing out on this McKinney Gem.

Good drink prices and they had a whole lineup of infused liquors. I got a dark cherry rum with come, tasty. Was also half price wine on a Friday night, not a bad deal. Food is blah. Its just an extension of Spoons, so its diner food. I had a meh omelette, wife had chicken salad sliders. Go for drinks if you have a wait for pizza at Cadillac or are waiting for sundown to go to the Yard.

We ate there for lunch and found the food to be light and refreshing with an atmosphere to match. Its officially a bar, I suppose, so everyone must be eighteen. The menu is identical to the main restaurant (The Spoons Cafe) and is quite diverse. Everyone should find something they will enjoy.

Funky little diner with the same menu as the main entrance Spoons. We tried to eat there first, but no space was available. Great service...food...and old McKinney atmosphere.
