Well let me explain a group of 10 all family members for my daughter 27 birthday, and let me start by saying, a bit of my self, i have been a professional executive chef for over 30 years , and i have never experienced such of bad experience of dining out in my entire life, this restaurant is extremely expensive and over rated with overpriced glorified dishes, that were not even close to be a fine dining experience, let me start by saying the side salad was nothing to be proud about it , the type of salad you can definitely get it anywhere else you go to dine out in McAllen Tx , now I in particular ordered the bone in T bone 28 oz wish costs around $60 + in my opinion besides that it took over 50 minutes to get our first course, when the steak was presented to me it was extremely rare, when I ordered Medium rare , I sent back to re cook , plus the baked potato apparently has been cooked several hours prior to service, I can tell that it was not a fresh baked potato at all , I can definitely tell because of the development of the gluten in the potato, this happens when the potato sits out in the hot until gets re heat, the steak sauce was a mediocre, and let me say something about the service staff, I order I nice 2017 bottle of Zinfandel from California to share with my daughter wine was fantastic, one of the best selection on the wine menu list, price wise.. I truly recommend . The waitress didnt even come once to fill up the glasses , totally unprofessional and uneducated in food and wine service..I will inform with this review to does large group coming to dine in this restaurant, 18% will be added to the top of the final bill just be aware, quite unfair in specially when your food experience was not even close to fulfilling your expectations. And the food cost an average of $75 per person. The total average in my group was between $50 to $119 per person. Let me say that it has taken me over 3 weeks to get around to right this one, i hope the upper management gets to read this review and get something done about it to fix this restaurant . I can comfortably say that after speaking with every single family member we all agreed to never return to this restaurant again, I know how hard is the hospitality industry and particularly the kitchen staff, and I like to support the local economy, but this top the list of unfortunately a disappointment dining experience. The food quality is not good , poor quality steak probably a choice grade not prime cut , even the beef tenderloin quality was poor. The drink menu was fairly price with very good margarita selection. The tuna dish was fair with basic presentation The chicken dish was the most acceptable with good preparation and good value. . Terrible service, it was our first visit, I expected more from this place, I felt a lot of discrimination from the waiters just because I wasnt dressed too neatly, I had just left work, I was tired and I just wanted to have something to eat and go home, and I went to other places better and I had never had to be made to feel so terrible.. the waiter behaved very carelessly, he spent the time talking at another table.. I do not recommend it and obviously I would never return I feel that people are categorized by their clothing and they treated us like if we didnt bring to pay. Regarding the food, it tasted good, I ordered a King salmon which was raw since they gave it to me medium-rare and the waiter never asked me how I wanted it, he just ordered it without asking me. I asked him twice if he had already ordered mine and he only said yes, and he didnt let me add the accompaniments to my dish either. He practically ordered what he wanted... I ordered a lemonade which was very acidic... to make matters worse, that food hurt me a lot, I couldnt sleep due to nausea and acidity, the salmon was super greasy... which caused reflux all night. Parking: The place has 2 entrances which when you go for the first time you dont know and you struggle to park

i have heard of santa fe for years from my family and i finally went by myself with friends and wow i understand the hype! i asked the bartender Carlos to freestyle me a gin drink and he made some kind of agua fresca watermelon drink that was amazing. we shared the mini beef wellingtons and twice baked potatoes and it was perfect. i thought it would break the bank, but $10-15 for a drink was pretty reasonable for the exceptional service provided. i will be back for date night. with the bar service, live music, and overall vibe, its perfect

We were celebrating our 38th anniversary. I m so happy my husband brought me here. From the moment we walked in we had the best experience. We had the best waiter Cuaqhtemoc knew exactly what we wanted. He was super polite. The appetizer, the steak, the baked potato were the best we have tasted.. Of course, I completely understand that and I want to clarify that that was not what bothered me, first because if they have staff at the entrance, they do not tell you in this case not to wear a hat inside the restaurant, second because they did not tell me before ordering my meals. food if I had already passed their staff repeatedly and thirdly what really bothered me is that the lady told me that I took off my cap but at the same moment there was another customer with shorts and they did not bother him when I asked him why ? Your hostesss words were yes you can so if you are telling me that the rules apply to everyone and without exceptions why does your staff tell me that? It just seemed the most incongruous to me and my only thought was because she speaks Spanish or some other reason or what she was referring to other than if she can.

Walked over to this restaurant from our nearby hotel and glad we did! Everything was more than we expected! Even had a pianist providing background music for our experience. Crab cakes best we ve ever had, scallops melted in our mouth and the orange roughy baked in clay was so full of flavour. They were really busy as it was some kind of high school dance night. So we were happy we could get in. However the food was not very flavorful and the waiter was sarcastic. Food was good. 6 dollars for plain fries is kinda absurd other than that the food was amazing the tuna steak is so good and beef Wellington is soooo good the mac and cheese aswell server was horrible!!!! Very rude and acted like he was annoyed most time our drinks were never refilled since the moment we got there other then the fries and server everything was amazing

My wife and I recently celebrated our 54th anniversary at the Santa Fe Steakhouse. Jeremy, our server was professional, personable, attentive, knowledgeable and patient answering our questions. Our meals were excellent and well presented. The dining area atmosphere and soft piano music perfect. This is definitely the top restaurant in the RGV for that special dinner. We we definitely return.

Olivia graciously made special arrangements for us to dine in the elegant main dining room, despite the tables being reserved. Being seated by the exquisite piano truly enhanced our evening and made it unforgettable. Chris our waiter gave us the upmost amazing table side service. Together they truly delivered a 5 star experience!

We stopped by for an impromptu dinner, first time, and were amazed by the fantastic experience. The staff is fun, friendly, and very accommodating. The sommelier is absolutely brilliant, and the food is first class. We will definitely be back soon again.

first impressions: i usually dont leave reviews unless i am either super wowed or incredibly disappointed.... and tonight was just that. my spouse wanted to take myself out to eat here for valentines, since hes been 2x and had great experiences but this time was my first time being here and i dont know if i would give it a second chance. atmosphere: for starters, we were seated in a corner next to the door in the cantina area which was really uncomfortable since employees kept rushing through every 2min. the cantina was nice with live music, and thats really it. service: our waiter only visited us twice... 1st to take our order and 2nd to give us the check. the other bus boys and waiters were more attentive to us than our own waiter was, which is embarrassing. we watched as the waiter visited the other times more frequently than us and almost we know he saw us, he didnt come to check on us. it took 10min to receive our drinks, then we had to wait another 10min for the waiter to finally come by to note down our orders. i asked for a side (that i never received) and i also asked for the lobster brusque that i didnt receive beforehand as it should be, instead i got it mid way through my entree and cold. which at that point i wasnt even hungry because i lost my appetite. the manager offered dessert on the house, but when we were given a different dessert from the one we had selected from the menu, we didnt say anything because we were just too tired by the end of our experience that we wanted to leave. food: for an appetizer we ordered the scallops which only had TWO scallops, my jaw dropped... (ive gone to gordon ramsays restaurant in las vegas and for the same price it came with SIX). i ordered a king salmon, it was good but seemed almost cold, for the price i expected more. my spouse ordered a T-bone steak with fries, the meat had more fat than meat (the entire time it was just him cutting off fat rather than eating) and the fries were ice cold. price: the manager is nice and apologized for the inconvenience, but the price was still really high for only 2 entrees and 1 appetizer which came out to $133.... which i feel was not deserved at all to pay for after everything. definitely was not worth it... i wish i couldve had a better experience.
