Visited this restaurant over the weekend. Family of 4 , half of the plates were ok, while the other 2 were not as expected. La paella undercooked, the pulpo with a terrible sauce on top that tasted like old salsa valentina . What called our attention, was that despite the prices (not cheap) we were charged extra for paying with card not coming back anytime soon. Bring cash if you don t want to be charged extra . Or go somewhere else.

I am very disappointed and disgusted by this restaurant. My husband and I ordered our food and to our surprise it was incredibly salty. I did not send my dish back because it was palatable, but we sent back my husband s. He ordered the pulpo zarandeado and which was burned and salty. We then sent the dish back and asked for a new one with a different sauce. To our surprise they seemed to have rinsed off the original octopus and cooked it in a new sauce. It was very obvious that they reused the octopus because it was missing the tentacles that my husband had cut off. I am horrified and disgusted by how they handled this. We decided to leave and just pay for the other items we ordered. I proceeded to speak to the manager who only apologized and said she would talk to the cook. We will not be coming back. It s unsanitary to re-use the same food for a new dish specially dealing with seafood.

La Costa is an upscale on the beach vibe restaurant. Service was good and attentive. The pre appetizers were different. No chips and salsa but a cellophane wrapped toasted corn tortilla type square, 3 different salsa, a small skillet of black refired beans, a bowl of lime slices and a tiny glass of soup. I mean tiny glass. Salsas were good but nothing special. Same for the beans. Unusual but good snacks. The ceviche sampler appetizer was not my favorite. Too much fresh onion for me. It overpowered the flavors of the tuna and shrimp. The Margarita was a Margarita again, nothing special. The Shrimp and Filet Al Ajillo was good but prepare for an abundance of roasted garlic covering everything. Overall, the experience was ok, but nothing to pique my interest in going back. Parking: Lots of people at the mall so parking is limited during peak shopping hours

The wait to be seated was well worth the experience! Not only did our food seem to pop up at our table very shortly after we ordered, or server was very attentive, food was AMAZING. My hubby and I tried the $52 plate, cant remember what its called but it had 2 cocktails, 2 tostadas, 2 crab meat, shrimp, fish, fried rice, onion rings and fries! Our kiddos shared the two fajita childs playe and finished it all which they never do! Meat was juicy and tender and flavorful. Each item on our plate was delicious!! And not to leave out the complimentary fish soup and tostadas with beans they bring to your table while you wait for your meal those were a bonus! We will definitely be coming back sometime in the future!

The food we lost was tasteless, almost everything is spicy, small portions, high prices. We ordered the sea and land molcajete for two and the portion is only for one person and tasteless. We ordered 2 different desserts, tasteless and salty, a dessert is supposed to be sweet. (They look appetizing, but nothing to do with it) My girls taquitos more or less. The volcano wasnt bad, but I felt like it was missing something. Very noisy, dark, small place and it smelled bad where we sat (like a very dirty cloth, near the bar) Because it is a Grill we thought the place would be nicer, but NO, its like a taco restaurant. We will not return.

I keep coming back for their seafood. Everything on the menu is great. Great food and service. Friendly staff patiently assists with the menu if you feel overwhelmed. I like their starter complimentary dish and its presentation. They serve mashed black beans with a variety of salsas and toppings as well as a side of deliciously crunchy tostadas. I have had ordered the La Costa Tower as an appetizer. Not only is it delicious but plentiful that it can easily feed two. All the other dishes on the menu are also delicious. You cant go wrong with your choice. They have indoor and outdoor seating. During the weekend evenings, they have live music. Parking: It s in a large busy plaza with plenty of parking spots. However, the close by spots may be taken. Drop off your party at the front door and proceed to find your parking spot. Kid-friendliness: There Wheelchair accessibility: It is spacious enough to allow a wheelchair to come and go.

A very pleasant first visit to La Costa Grill. Our first surprise was the complementary crackers served with pickled red onion, red salsa, tomatillo salsa, and mole. In addition, a small glass of their broth. All of this was excellent. For entrees, we had the seared tuna salad, and the pulpo al ajillo. Both entrees were nicely prepared, seasoned just right, and large portions. Overall a very nice experience with friendly, attentive service. We will be back.

Came to celebrate my daughter s birthday and she was looking forward to the molcajete food choice so we ordered one also. When we got our food they brought it in these black plates because apparently they ran out of the molcajete s that alone was a disappointment due to us looking forward to that , then the worst part was that our food was cold!!!!! The waitress was not attentive and my daughter told her it s my birthday today and she didn t seem to care! I don t recommend this place at all and if you do come demand you want the molcajete if that s what you ordered food probably would have been hot! Came for the experience apparently that this place was great it was an awful experience !

I really don t understand how this place has more than 3 stars in general. I m assuming it s because people in the valley don t truly understand how seafood is supposed to taste like or understand the quality of food should be more important than the presentation of it. I must admit they make their dishes look very nice but the quality of the food it was disgusting. The sauces , spices, everything was just horribly constructed. You can tell whoever made the menu just experimented with food. Again, any type of food establishment in the valley is going to thrive, you don t have to be good at it. This place is a great example of that. To the owner: You need to start listening to the 1 star reviews more. Today we celebrated my princesss birthday, and it was a special day for our family because everything was very nice, clean and safe. I wanted something mixed with steak and shrimp, the waitress told me that I could add extra shrimp, but she never mentioned that each shrimp in bacon was going to cost me almost $7 USD... they gave me 4 and well the shrimp in bacon dish costs $28 So I could have ordered two dishes with what I paid for my mixed plate. The truth is very bad, they should inform the customer of these exaggerated prices, they charged me for each shrimp like a taco, I would have fed one more person with that extra. The food was ok not great. I ordered the tuna tostada and the tuna was brown and seemed old. The shrimp taco had a total of one shrimp. I am not a cheap skate by any means but I was very surprised that they charged an additional $6 to pay with a credit card. I will not be back to this place. The server was nice and good. Our waitress was oddly rude and we really don t understand why she showed us poker face the whole time. She didn t offer to replace our full plate, our table was full, she didn t take any empty plates away. We had to look for other servers to do her job. She even circled the tip suggestion box on the receipt, stood there the whole time to watch us tip her. Who does that? We still left 20% tip because other staff are awesome. I hope the lady will receive proper training by the management team. We were there to enjoy our weekend, but she did a great job ruining it

My wife and I usually come over to this spot often. Although service is horrible, the food makes up for it. But recently, we ve noticed that most of the waiters are tweaking out or either ignore you since they rather attend the big tables that typically don t leave a tip. As of yesterday, this will be our last time we go to this spot. Not only are they over charging on food and drinks, but quality and customer service has plummeted. Have you noticed that they always have different staff working and never the same people? That says a lot about the restaurant. They need to work on hiring competent people who want to work and not pick and chose who they want to attend due to the size of party. Food is mediocre and you ll have better luck making fish filet at home at a cheaper cost. I refuse and shall never recommend this place.

Place is spacious and has stunning views out into the plaza..or to see a sunset in the evening! Hadls an outdoor patio that is spacious and very cozy and attractive! 1 star review: We ate here yesterday and are very disappointed that this establishment charged us 4% of our total ticket amount for paying with a debit card!They are forcing us to pay their vendor fees and that is so wrong. I would understand a $1 -$2 fee, but 4% of the ticket amount is a rip off! We are working class people, and we all know how expensive it is to eat out, and on top of that theyre charging us extra because we chose to pay with our card. No sign or nothing to let us know that we will HAVE to pay extra. Shame on you all for charging your customers this fee when in fact its your responsibility! Not everyone carries cash!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE coming to LA Costa for lunch... their quick.. and the food is chefs kiss AMAZING!!! I ALWAYS have the tuna Nachos (w/o jalapeños) never disappointed. I ALWAYS LEAVE FULL HAPPY AND SATISFIED.. definitely worth every penny.

If I could, Id give the food a 3.5. Dont get me wrong , most dishes have great taste, but I dont think you are getting what you pay for when it comes to many dishes. Service is great, and from my experiences going here the waiting staff are great. Host not that much, and they tend not to have much knowledge of their own restaurant. Atmosphere is really nice and you can always feel that vibe of feeling relaxed. They have Tvs and one large one as well for sport watching. They also have an outdoor section and a inside bar. Really nice atmosphere.
