The quality of the food has decreased a bit. My dish was a mushroom salad. My greens were ruined because of the excess amount of oil from the mushrooms. The chicken was good. The calzone, wrap and pizza was good. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly 100% Restrooms are clean.

I absolutely love the food! My wife and almost always get the fajita salad which is magnificent! But it irritates the hell out of me to have to pay a 4% up charge to use my credit card. Add 4% to the price of the food and I would not bat an eye. I try to not go there unless we are dying for the salad and gyros. This is not good marketing!

My son and I always order from the blue onion for lunch. I love their salads and my son loves the pizza and kettle chips. My only complaint is that I pay $3 for a side of chips and the last time they gave me literally 10 chips in a little foam cup. I highly recommend the artichoke dip, the fajita salad and al pastor fajita calzone

I will say that the food here is excellent, the gyro was absolutely delicious, the bread was soft and the meat juicy, the cucumber salad made this gyro taste great. The shrimp and garlic pizza was also delicious. The restaurant itself isnt very appealing for my tastes. Our server Jose was incredible, he was fun and polite, it is because of him Im giving this place 5 .

RACISM! June 4/2024 First restaurant in the USA that this happens to me! I am with my workers doing repairs at Walgreens, I was waiting for them to open to eat with them at BLUEONION, as you know the heat is strong and while I was waiting I was taking shade talking on the phone near the door of the store (ordering material) the manager came out and said I left, I never did anything suspicious at all. When I passed by there again, the same guy was talking on the phone, I guess to the police because he said there was someone suspicious hanging around. I never tried to look over the glass, I never tried to open the door, whats wrong with these people? Wearing a little concrete on my clothes doesnt make me a criminal.

Terrible! Lamb makes me nauseated, The service is incredibly awful, the atmosphere is outrageous! It s almost like animals in a zoo. Found hairs in my food, All the food gives me heart burn. That cool needs to be fired for how uncooked and nauseating the food is.

I ate here years ago and remembered it was good, so I came again. The service is great. Very friendly. If you re in a hurry, go somewhere else. It takes a while to prepare good food. The coleslaw and macaroni sides were very good. The El Pastor Wrap is very good. And there s lots of it. The only reasons I didn t give five stars are: The grill was too hot and burned stripes on the chicken. Once I got that scraped off, minor effort, the chicken wrap was great. The napkins are starched too stiff. It s like wiping your face with cardboard. I would suggest skipping the starch. All in all, it was good. I ll be back. Parking: Usually plenty of parking. A little tight during noon rush. Wheelchair accessibility: There s one ramp near reserved parking.

STORYTIME: We have to admit my partner and I were going to eat at New York Deli nearby when we saw Blue Onion was also an option to have lunch. We saw NYD was busy so we had our opportunity to try out Blue Onion. Our server Kiara, I think suggested some Gyro/ Flat Breads the Chicken Pesto and Al Pastor. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY. Honestly so good we don t even eat that kind of food but it was very delicious with two sides. The Marinated Cucumbers were delicious a new flavor we ve never had. Dan the owner gifted us two tiramisu shots as a thank you for being first timers. Now, we will come again, great vibe and service.

With that being said. I am a super fan of this restaurant. Its one of a kind. I live in Houston now but when I come to the valley this is a must for me. Their things I love the most if their Artichoke Dip and their Hummus with garlic and olive oil. And their pita bread is delicious. Their pizzas are one of a kind and their FAJITAAAAA IS Immaculate! Their service is not bad but its not top game yet. But the food makes up for the slow service you might get here at times. The managers are always busy and work hard to deliver quality food. And they are super nice people.

Food quality was good, as usual, for the Blue Onion. I had the Al Pastor Pizza, which I usually get at the Weslaco location. It was very tasty, but it had very little meat on it. Its usually loaded with diced fajitas in Weslaco. Not so much here. Also, service was a little slow, and our server disappeared for long stretches. I dont usually come to this location, so it is possible that was an anomaly.

Spouse and I had the lunch special. Small calzone with tasty crust and nicely presented black bean soup. Cheese and cilantro topping was perfect complement to hearty soup. Both calzones we tried - the blue onion and the grilled veggie - were delicious. Excellent service - fast and attentive- even though they were fairly busy. Many vegetarian options on the menu looked great, so we will have to go back. Very extensive beer list with lots of local Texas brews.

The food is really good but, the service needs work. It shouldn t take 30 min to an hour to get a salad. It took 40 minutes! to get a veggie salad. Also, pay more attention to your clients. I meant to leave this review a couple months ago. I like the staff and food, but we wont go back after finding hair in my food for the third time. We complained each time. Im not sure if they just wear hair nets sometimes or what, but it was a lot of hair this last time. Not only that, I called and the staff and they could give us $10 off our next meal. LOL. Finding hair literally ruined a $40 meal and you want to give us $10 after weve spent hundreds in a month? Nope.

The restaurant is very welcoming and warm with hosts and owner courteously attending our every need. The food is freshly prepared from what we could see..and portions are BIG...VERY BIG...i just couldnt finish my meal ..took half home to eat the following day...the prices are proper for fresh, one of a kind dishes(that dont dissapoint)... Its not for every day...but splurging on yourself and ur tummy once a month..this place is IT!! I ordered gyro tacos(for me and the ball n chain)...and a cucumber and sautéed garlic salad...i like healthy stuff!! Highly recommend!!

I had lunch on a Sunday and ordered the fajita Alpastor wrap for the tenth time and the quality has gone down. The fajita did not have the membrane/skin taken off and it was extremely chewy. I had not had that problem before and I hope it was only this once. The pizzas were good.

It was an ok experience. We walked in and maybe it was because there was a big group with like three tables or something, but it seemed awkward to have them directly infront of the door. We went to sit at a booth, we got our drinks, ordered the food, and it was just ok. Not good, not bad, but just in the middle. The macaroni salad was nice though, it was a little strong but it didnt taste like mayonnaise and pasta like other macaroni salads Ive had. I got a pepperoni calzone and all I can say is it reminds me of Peter Piper Pizza if they were to make hot pockets. It isnt really a bad thing to be honest but I just expected a little less of that feeling. But thats just me, others might say something different. Very filling, nice staff. I would come back maybe once in a while, but not often.

While the food can be good its very inconsistent. I stopped by for lunch the other day and I was very pleased with two of the sample dips I ordered. But the third dip, I was confused as I ordered artichoke dip and it came with some sort of yogurt like sauce with garlic on top, best I can conclude is that it was not the dip I ordered but I couldnt seem to figure out what dip it was (it tasted nothing like artichoke, or any other dip listed in the menu)... The pizza I ordered, while the flavor was good it came drenched in olive oil. I liked the two dips so much I decided to give this place a second chnace and placed an online order after a long day at work. I ordered a pizza which was kind of plain compared to the flavorful pizza from my first order. I decided to try the sample dips again and I reordered the olive tapenade, and chevre goat cheese with roasted garlic. For the third I decided to try the hummus and garlic. The tapenade tasted great, but the chevre goat cheese and garlic was very very bland, the hummus and garlic came with way too much garlic and it was very overpowering. While the food can be good it seems to me like it its hit or miss depending on whos working behind the counter. Three stars instead of two because of the food that was good, the staff was very polite and attentive, and the restaurant was neat and orderly.

Fantastic experience. Very calm atmosphere. Their food is very exquisite and such precise delicacy. My personal favorite is their gyros and roasted garlic hummus. Homemade pita bread with garlic and butter as well as all their cuisines. Their chocolate Oreo mousse was a burst of sweet smooth creaminess that is very hard to imitate. If you want to experience an explosion of flavors this is the place to go for your pallet.

All Im going to say is....they are really bad at online orders. Either the order is wrong or if you ask them to do something specifically, they just ignore your request and they also charge you extra for missing items for delivery. Bad management and probably a staff full of immature kids. Improve on customer service, they most certainly lost a loyal customer.

AMAZING! So good. I should know. Im a fat and hungry and this place filled the void in my life. Well, at least in my stomach. The pita and Flatbread is super good. Especially the Flatbread which is the thick, fluffy kind not the dry flat pita kind one receives at most restaurants. The fluffy Flatbread is what separates good restaurants from great restaurants. And fusion between Mediterranean and TexMex in the fajita Flatbread sandwich... who would have thought that was possible!? Perhaps the aliens that built the pyramids in Egypt then in Central America? If you believe in that sort of stuff.

Very reasonable prices and plates we tried were average. By plates I mean pizzas and sandwiches. It is a good casual place for weekdays but definitely not for weekends or special days.

Blue Onion has really good food. The food is good quality. And the food choices are not common, yet familiar enough to crave when reading the menu. I highly recommend for a lunch or dinner.

The humus was amazing!!! The food is decent. I had a grilled chicken salad with fiesta sauce. Was impressive sauce but the salad portions were huge, wish the tomato, green onion, and other veggies were more chopped but maybe because I didnt ask.

I drove 30 minutes for a worker to tell me he cant find my online order I placed 40 min before. After he finds it he tells me the food is about to be out. 10 minutes later he tells me they dont have the hummus I ordered. After waiting a total of 1 hr and 10 minutes for 2 salads, pita bread, and hummus I canceled my order. Never in my life have I ever had to wait so long for food let alone salads. Huge disappointment given that one of the salads is my wifes favorites for her on Mothers Day.

I recommend the lamb gyro, it is tasty! Also, I always order the tri-sampler with shrimp bagna caldo, goat cheese with roasted red peppers, and the artichoke dip... it is divine!!

Best food in the Valley.. love there Fajita Salad with the flat bread. Pizza is delicious too. If you want a good healthy meal this is the place! Oh and excellent customer service. 10 Stars!
