Its a nice place and the music sounds good in the venue, but their alcohol and snacks selection is horrible. They dont have good brand of liquor. They dont have a good vodka like grey goose. They dont carry Buchanans scotch whiskey and their drinks were expensive for well drinks. At least that was my experience. Very limited menu on drinks and food.

Nice venue. They had issues checking my ticket that was saved in my wallet app for iPhone. It s supposed to be designed to be scanned and apparently they didn t have the right device, made me stand for more than 5 minutes and had to open my Ticketmaster account they should make sure to update their devices and personnel to avoid delays to go inside the venue.

Very well located in the city, next to the McAllen Convention Center and shopping plazas. Excellent space for stage work. Large box, with good acoustics and spacious transit areas, with state-of-the-art technology. Large dressing rooms and hallways with their own bathroom. Room with 1,800 seats perfectly distributed with access for the disabled. Enough parking.

From a truck driver point of view: I found the faculty to be very accommodating. The local administration was nice and provided ample information. From a patron point of view: beautiful theater! The entire facility was very clean and inviting!

The ballet was beautiful and the seats were comfortable. The usual cost for water 5 dollars, but you kind of expect those kind of margins. Would def recommend you pay for parking if they offer it for the event and arrive early. It bottle necks since there is only one road in and one road out.

Staff needs training. They let us in and took our seats then they made us leave and wait again. There was an elderly lady there who had limited mobility and she was asked to wait outside after her caretakers labored to get her comfortable.

Is a nice & clean place, but they have no control over the bar lines. They are all over the place & they end up covering the entrance. We always have a really hard time trying to cross through all the people in the bar lines to get to the stairway or the elevator. Maybe adding bartenders or servers & adding high tables to the lobby can help this problem. Also, the people seating the guests point their flashlights on other sitting guests while the show is going on. I understand using the light to see the letters or numbers, but once theyre done, they can very easily put the light against their pants to cover it, but no. They torn around & shove that light in everyones face thats trying to enjoy the show. Hopefully, that can change.

This venue is always amazing. The City of McAllen did a wonderful job building this facility. We were there for the New Life Family Church Christmas Special, Behold Him. The venue made it easy for the church to come in and transform the entire place with mostly volunteers. The acoustics, lighting, and the entire ambiance lend themselves well for any type of performance.

We attended A Touch of Frost on 12-1-23 featuring the Valley Symphony Chorale! Wow! What a performance! We enjoyed our experience at the McAllen Performing Arts Center from beginning to end. They were able to move the large crowd quickly and efficiently. I will definitely return for future events.

Wish I could rate higher. Late start with no applogy or explanation was a poor start after strange security scan upon entry. Spilled fruity drink be another patron also unpleasant. Orchestra performance was lovely, chorale was good but a smile here or there would have shown the singers were enjoying themselves..

The venue has a pleasant general ambiance but is marred by uncomfortable seating akin to airplane chairs, which dont accommodate individuals well, encouraging them to encroach on each others space. Moreover, the lack of a shield from others coughs and sneezes detracts from the experience. What soured the experience further was the unprofessionalism exhibited by the staff and the irrational rules in place, notably the reentry policy which doesnt allow attendees to return once they exit, even before the commencement of the show. This, coupled with the absence of clear guidance and signage directing people to their respective sections, created a lot of confusion. It feels unfair to not be informed beforehand about the reentry policy, trapping us for an extended time due to the artists delay and our early arrival, with no option to step outside amidst a large, aimlessly wandering crowd. The poor facilities extended to the performer too, who was provided with inadequate seating arrangements, a testament to the venues lack of consideration. The limited snack options and the merging of the snack and liquor lines, resulting in prolonged wait times, only aggravated the dissatisfaction. Overall, the evident lack of foresight and professionalism in the management makes me reluctant to revisit this venue despite its decent infrastructure.
