Overall a pleasant experience. The feeling is elegant casual, and the service was great. My chicken with Mole sauce was tasty (though slightly sweeter than I prefer, but thats totally a matter of taste). The black beans were wonderful. Sadly, no veggies were included with the plate. Still Im sure Ill be back to try something else.

Went for Fathers Day, and the restaurant was not too full, but service was highly lacking. Took 3 times of reminding waiter for my drink to finally get it. Also, with a limited menu, they were out of basic things like flour tortillas. When food finally came, it came incomplete, and we had to remind the waiter of missing items. Also, they charge a 20% gratuity even though the menu said 15%.

First time visiting this restaurant for mothers day. Didnt appreciate the menu was limited to only a few items. Basically you only ate what they wanted to cook for mothers day weekend. Platea were expensive and didnt have your traditional sides. Like for cabrito plate no rice or beans just a salad. This was a $36.00 plate. They bring out charro beans but they are bland no flavor. The cabrito needs more seasoning it was hot but lacked flavor. The food was hot but it lacked flavor. We would not return. Too expensive and its not worth it. I think this restaurant caters to people with a different palate for cabrito. More bland food. The restaurant was clean

I really never like to give reviews but I just had to on this restaurant. Service was slow took forever to take our order (only 3 other tables), they had 5 waitresses. Our food got cold just waiting for the last two plates to get served. The quality of food was not there for the price! I ordered $25 3 short ribs and it more fat than meat. Cabrito guisado $45 was ok, pierna de cabrito was hard and chewy now the tacos of fajita were good. They also add 20% tip to the tap like or not! Never going back!

The place looks beautiful inside and the servers are very attentive, the huevos rancheros were good but their quality decreased from previous visits, for $7.95 you get 2 eggs, refried beans, potatoes, ham & fried tortilla. The eggs were overcooked, the salsa for the eggs was okay, the fried tortilla under the eggs was mediocre, the ham was simple but tasty, the refried beans were okay and the potatoes I liked that they made them a la mexicana but flavorless. They serve you chips and salsa while you wait, the salsa is really good. Overall the breakfast was okay but the quality of the food has decreased no more yellow corn tortillas, different quality ham. The place still looks great & the servers are still amazing. I hope management sees this observation.

My wife and I have been married for close to 47 years, our favorite enjoyment has always been eating out. (I am sure that is the case with many a couple!!!) Quality food, Quality service, and a Quality ambiance is of utmost importance to us. We came across this wonderful restaurant by the name of El Pastor Grill on 10th street in McAllen which happens to check all the boxes!!! I myself enjoyed a very well prepared and savory machito!!! Designated as an appetizer but sized big enough for it to be a meal in itself!!! (The absolute best!!!) My wife enjoyed a plate of succulent fajitas and enchiladas!!! As for the service, Juan and Jose are top of the line waiters!!! As for Hostess and Cashier Thais, she is second to none. We went for a late lunch so the ambiance was relaxing and filled with tranquility. All made possible by the upper echelon management provided by Mr. Jesus Martinez!!! On behalf of my wife and myself, we would like to thank you all so very much for such a wonderful and impeccable eating experience!!! Too bad 10 stars are not available in reviews otherwise El Pastor Grill is well deserving!!! (BTW; Meals are appropriately priced!!!) The food was subpar by many aspects. We ordered a ribeye medium well and recieved it overcooked. After we asked for it to be remade, it came back practically raw. When we let the waiter know he made it seems like we we re being difficult and just at the meal. Along with this we ordered a parillada that had dry unflavored meat, cold tortillas, and undercooked veggies. Only good thing was the choriqueso. After we paid the tab, we thought they had comped our ribeye due to the difficulty only to have the waiter hunt us down outside because he gave us the wrong tab. He then proceeds to want to overcharge us aside from the fact that he made the mistake of making us pay the wrong ticket. The manager also refused to acknowledge his mistake and told us it was our fault. Well over $90 to waste. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My wife and I were invited to eat at El Pastor Grill for an early lunch. The place is in the building that used to be the Oyster bar, located at 600 N. 10th St, McAllen TX right at Fir Ave. Once seated we ordered iced teas, the server brought our teas along with chips and salsa. I ordered the CaldoTialpeno, (soup) and my wife and friend ordered the Enchiladas Suizas. Our server really took good care of us, totally on point. I wish I could rave about the food but it really was a let down. My soup was way too salty, broth was definitely made from bouillon and not stock. There was not the traditional Chipotle in the broth, but rather a Chipotle Chile served on the side. I mentioned the saltiness to the server and he returned with a new bowl, unfortunately it was just as salty as the first bowl. I removed the chicken, rice, and Avocado from the bowl and settled for eating this. My wife hardly touched her enchiladas, I asked her why? She said they were way to dry and had no flavor. Sadly my friend ate less than half his plate, his comment I wont write, but they both agreed that the rice was undercooked. Its to bad the food doesnt meet the expectation you get when you walk in to the restaurant. The decor is nice and creates a pleasant ambience. I might go back and try the grilled items, but based on the food quality of this visit, its probably going to be until I hear something good about the place.

Gerardo was our server and he was excellent he was very attentive. I had the cabrito asado, rice and beans and it was delicious I also order the guacamole and chips. I love the freshness and the way they served the guacamole with the items on the side because you get to put as much onions or jalapenos as you want. Not like most restaurants its already premade. My review hasnt changed. They still have the best tacos a la plancha in town. Took a while to get our drinks, then the glasses sat empty for well over 30 mins. We had to get the waiter attention if we hadnt we wouldnt have gotten refills. The appetizer came with the food, only because we asked where it was. The rice and veggies on the fish were cold. The building needs to be fixed or upgrade correctly and the staff needs to be train properly. But they were quick to give the bill and take the payment.

Nothing, as I had imagined, is horrible! The goat tacos I ordered, the meat was very tough, I think it was from the previous day, reheated...its very ugly.

I had a great dinner at El Pastor Restaurant at the new location on 10th st in McAllen, TX. I love their authentic Mexican take on fine border dining. I loved the fajita plate and my wife loved her chicken enchiladas. Im not a fan of cabrito but they do cook it the right way which is grilled on a spit over coals in front of a window so you can see the delicacy. Service was impeccable . A few items they were out of did disappoint a little but I expect they are just working out wrinkles into the new establishment. One of the top 2 Mexican restaurants in McAllen in my opinion.

They did a Great job with the Building!! Love the Natural light, but it was too Hot in there!! Quacamole was average, didnt like the chips. Best Margaritas in Town!!! Maybe you should consider powered shade, to help with Heat. Paper dispenser in Bathroom was not working???

This place is a wonderful delight for the pallet. The machito and steak is esquiste I love the way the wait staff and manager/owner are very attentive to the customers needs. I highly recommend it for steak and machitos.

My Pastor loves cabrito, a specialty of this restaurant. So every year for his birthday I take him and his wife to eat cabrito. The last 3 years have been to this restaurant. The food is delicious. The services is unsurpassable. Today was no exception. We had a wonderful time.
