Rooms: we were upgraded so we actually stayed in a suite because we are Marriott Bonvoy preferred VIP customers, but the air conditioning unit didn t work very well and it s not central air. It was a window unit type AC that would be my main complaint. Nearby activities: Tons and tons of restaurants are around, but if you don t wanna leave the premises, there is a pretty fun bar in the parking lot or actually in front of the hotel called Ojos Locos Walkability: You are situated in downtown McAllen and I wouldn t recommend walking anywhere because there s a lot of traffic and crazy drivers but you re close to the airport. You re close to the mall the hospitals best thing to do would be to call an Uber.

The place is a mess. The unfair manager, everyone stares at you as if you were going to rob them, the employees dont know how to explain the check-in and check-out times of the room, very bad service from everyone there, Im a YouTuber and its a shame that they dont know how to greet you and treat you in a certain way. human possible I do not recommend it

The pool room was like an oven, the service was beyond disappointing, and they completely misled us. On top of that, they unexpectedly asked us to leave early, even though they promised we could stay today and tomorrow until 11pm. Trust me, youre better off not going there.

It has been said people do not remember what you say they remember how you make them feel... Viola at the hotel and the entire team truly make you feel comfortable, like a family member, and an honored guest! With my job I must travel and I make it a point to always stay at this hotel. Viola takes the time to get to know you! And more importantly remember you. She works with you as well as the entire staff there from recommendations on where to eat to something as simple as directions. She assists in training people at concierge/reception desk and shares who you; ensuring seamless service! This hotel had a recent update and while the rooms may not be the newest or the most grand the way my heart feels is priceless A must stay whether youre going to stay in McAllen or even drive into Brownsville Try it for a night and youll see I am right. Nearby activities: Golf is available as well as a shuttle which runs Monday through Friday. Walkability: Across the street from both MFE and La Plaza Mall Food and drinks: The free breakfast reminds me of home!

Everyone was very helpful and nice. The shuttle service was so convenient.. The hotel needs to be updated. The lobby has a musty, moldy smell as does the room when the air conditioner is turned on. The hotel is 2 minutes from the airport by car, even walking would take you 10 minutes so the location is excellent if you plan to stay somewhere near the airport. The facilities are very good, the room is clean and although some objects already show a little wear, it is nothing significant. I didnt love the breakfast but thats why in Mexico these types of hotels usually serve a better breakfast, that is, fruit, scrambled eggs, beans, chilaquiles, etc. Something that in the USA all hotels serve a fairly American breakfast so you adapt .

My team and I had an 18 day stay with the Fairfield. The cleanliness of the room was below par. we found active roaches in each of our rooms. The nurse that was with use had bed bugs on her bed and management stated We have a big problem here that we are trying to solve. We didn t have a choice but to stay in this infestation because our travel could not be moved right away. The front desk attendant was very nice and apologetic. She moved us rooms and even after that it continued to be a problem. I never knew bug spray was included in things to pack. I contacted Bonvoy and Fairfield and they comp me 20,000 points for our misfortune. 20k? I take that as an insult and a slap in the face. 18 days we had to deal with this place. I would not stay at this particular location again ever!

Only down fall is the air in the indoor pool area. I cant enjoy more than 10 minutes the chlorine is so strong that you cant breathe. Wish gym-pool was open longer due to our days we sleep and up at night. But everyone is friendly and understands that my child is special needs, so i clean room (did housekeeping for 12 years) so no worries with my son. Im a very loud person and everyone is very friendly best time over all here.. spent looking for houses and visiting family. Just make sure you wipe the washer out and seal and door and the dispenser for soap... my child is highly allergic to some laundry soaps and he was admitted to hospital for reaction but thats only thing really iffy be nice to have a spray and rags to clean before using like at laundry mats. I will definitely be staying here againn in Dec-January for the 2 weeks we have to be here.

May 4th 2022.. Titanium membership ... I think the lady said her name was Rosie. Dont want to say much except was not happy . Sometimes you just have some bad vibes on the service you recieve doing checkin . End up with a room that was not satisfactory and of course they will tell you they are sold out when you hit the front desk to ask for a different room. Also another issue not with this location but for all those Titanium members , silver , gold , or platinum that qualify for free upgrades. Does not matter what time of day you book or enter the hotel and when you ask them any free Titanium membership upgrades? Youll get the same answer 95% of the time so sorry we are out .. so those benefits they claim . Trying requesting service though the app is also a joke. Im so vested in this wish I should have chosen the Hilton app ..

They advertise a big tub with jets, but discontinued them 2 years ago. That is false advertisement since that was that main reason for choosing this hotel. Also room was not cleaned on a daily basis, they said due to covid. But they could have at least picked up the dirty towels and left clean ones for the next day. They did not disinfect the room, it actually smelled dirty. Some of the clean towels actually had hair on them.

Staff are very nice and friendly, this elevated the property, which is badly in need of remodeling (rooms), from a 2 to 3*s. Both the shuttle bus driver and the front desk check-in staff were very pleasant. As far as the room, the bathroom was not up to standards of cleanliness and my wife went in and cleaned it, before she would use it. Also, the ceilings have water stains on them. Overall, an old and run down place. Wont stay here again, as there are hopefully other places in McAllen with friendly staff as well, but with a better facilities.

Needs remodeling Ive been to alot of Fairfield Inns and this was a disappointment. Tub was clogged had to shower from a distance. Room 305 and also didnt have a vent in the restroom. If you travel and your kids decide to bring their Playstation cant use it. They dont have a remote to change the input. Only thing I liked about this hotel It is across the street from the mall so Ill give it one star. ( I did let the front desk lady know about the clogged shower but nothing happened even though they said the would let the maintenance man know.) Even my daughters said its the worst hotel they have stayed at.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites McAllen Airport is nothing to be overly excited about but it does provide a decently priced stay in a convenient location which is why I stay here 90% of the time when I am in McAllen. It is walking distance to Tony Romas and shares a parking lot with the best sushi restaurant in town. I will note that it is walking distance to the mall, but if you want to get to a decent gym or the heart of town, Uber will be your best bet. Side note - Breakfast is not worth your time so look elsewhere.

This hotel is very average and basic. The room was very clean, but that s pretty much it, with this hotel carrying the Marriot name , you d think it would rival any top tier hotel in McAllen. First, the shower ran out of hot water very quickly, (more warm than hot) the tv was very small and the resolution of the channels was very poor. The ac we had in our room hardy blew cold air and when I called the front dest to complain they didn t have any other rooms available for me to switch so I had to endure the valleys summer heat in a poorly cooled room. The slow WiFi was always disconnecting from our devices and we were better off running off our service provider. A little maintenance will go a long way! Besides that, the hotel offers a small little fitness room and small pool area that s indoors that is efficient enough.

Dont go here! I stay at Marriott hotels all over the country for 50-75 nights a year. This is hands-down the worst Marriott franchise I have EVER stayed at. 1. Got bit by black widow spiders. 2. The room looked 25 years old and was in rough condition. 3. There was significant mildew above the shower on the ceiling and wall. 3. TV had a handful of very staticy analog channels that wasnt worth using. 4. 1 of 2 treadmills worked. 5. The pool is smaller than a living room, and the hot tub is smaller than a kiddie pool for a 3 year old. 6. Only 1 ice machine for whole building.

The rooms were okay they were clean but the only reason we stayed here was because of the indoor pool that looked somewhat descant on their website it the smallest pool i ve ever seen in a hotel not to mention apparently they don t have a limit on how meny guests can be in the pool it was a small pool packed with tons of people one child threw up in the pool and they didn t think to let the other guests know before entering which upset me greatly due to me getting in with my infant ! Good service at check-in, the staff who work at the hotel are very friendly, the breakfast is very rich and a variety of fruit, the gym from 1 to 10 I give it a 6 with everything I need, I would return
