The food is delicious, I dont know if I can say the same about their customer service, they took our order and then completely ignored us, adding that one of the waffles had a hair on it, apart from that they charged us for the combo with only one waffle and for another that we had not asked for??

Walking in, the atmosphere automatically makes you feel as if you are in another state of being. The decor and setup is absolutely cute and the server who attended us, Noe, was so friendly and helpful. Being our first time, Noe went above and beyond to get to know us and help decide what to order. Coming from out of town, we will definitely be back, or only for the ambience, but because staff like Noe make a business that much enjoyable.

I didnt really liked Birdie bistro for the following reasons that consider so upclose and personal. The place inside felt packed. Guess it was half full and theres so much echo of the people talking. I could imagine hows the noise with full house. A loud place is not what I expect from a small restaurant. To me, none of the dishes were really something that makes me going back again. I ordered a citrus salad that would have taste better if the spinach and lettuce were chopped. Then we ordered french toasts, none out of the ordinary.. And apparently what saves the visit a bit was the Pasta Alfredo with shrimp and the mimosa ( photo posted is just an oj ). Sorry Birdie. I would not recommend you, but again it has been my personal impression. Maybe you guys will like it more that I do if you give it a try.

We came in as a party of 5 and were really excited to try this place out. The food left a lot to be desired. Two people got the avocado toast which was one slice of white bread each, very little avocado, two eggs, and sesame seasoning. The portion was very small for the price and there was no flavor. I got the chicken and waffles which was just okay. The chicken felt like it was frozen tenders that were reheated. We asked for the receipt but were given the portable terminal with the total to pay but it didn t have the itemized receipt. We tipped and texted the receipt to ourselves to see the itemized bill only to find we were charged a 20% large party fee! $17 had been added to the receipt plus we had added a $10 tip so we paid $27 in tip. We were only 5 people and were never told the additional fee would be added. We were very disappointed and will not be returning.

My wife loves this place...so its a good thing she doesnt follow me lol. I came here on my wifes recommendation, however she raved more about the atmosphere and the decor...than the food. To give it credit...this place has limited hours but when we arrived, it was full. The atmosphere is very present here...you can spend half your stay looking around at all the decorations. The service was quite good. Do not visit this place if youre on a budget...and to be fair, the crowd reflects it. The big fail here is the food sadly. My wife had the chilaquiles and I wanted to try something different, so I went with the quiche. My wifes chilaquiles were decent. You can definitely find them for less, with a larger serving and with much greater flavor elsewhere. The quiche was very forgettable...why you might ask? The crust was almost inedible. The bottom corner of the crust, even with a knife, I could barely cut through. I had the southwest quiche and the flavors mixed quite well. However, if you cant even eat part of it, its a definite fail. If you have money to spend, free time in the AM, and hours to gossip...this is your place. If you want hot food, banging flavors, and get what you paid for, theres other places to try.

Great environment for a brunch! I love the laid back feel, it s a bit crowded not an ideal place to take an infant or toddler. The food was delicious. The poblano crepes were delicious & the shrimp Alfredo pasta was outstanding. The cappuccino was a 5/5.

Stopped in Sunday July 28,2024 @11am for our first visit. We enjoyed our visit until we received our food. My friend received the chicken and waffles warm and I received the chilaquiles barely warm. I had to get up and alert the staff. They took our plates to the back, removed the avocado from the plate and microwaved it. Rather than remake it, bring it out fresh and give us what we paid for. I had to ask the waitress for my avocado because it was removed and on top of that the waffle was soggy. We wanted to like this place but it was so disappointing. Never again.

I would give it 5/5 stars: Everything was very delicious my parents order the omelette with potatoes and beans along with la casa tea and I order the molletes (half mushrooms and half chorizo) with la casa coffee including we order a sweet crepe and the lady that attended us very nice, along with the manager too it was our first time going there and we all loved it definitely the wait was worth it!! Amazing brunch with my son. What I loved? The quiche was perfectly textured like a perfectly cooked dumpling and the sweet potatos chips best ever not drenched in grease and resembled more of a ruffles chip. We had the caprese as an appetizer and as we would expect and love firm ripe tomatoes and full basil leaves. Beautiful work. Keep it up please.

On our recent visit to Birdie Bistro, we enjoyed a delicious burger with a sunny side up egg and a chicken salad croissant. Everything was incredibly tasty, but what really took the prize were the super crispy sweet potato fries. Everything was super fresh which made the experience even better. Birdie Bistro is definitely a place worth visiting for its delicious and fresh food.

Food: Had the chilaquiles. It was absolutely delicious! Missed out on the drinks due to a pending liquor license. Service: fantastic! They were all prompt in servicing us and delivering our meals. Atmosphere: Mainly chose this one due to having our fur baby, Lyla, with us. We were going back home and we were traveling back home and needed a pet friendly place. We sat outside and it was a quaint atmosphere. They also had second floor deck upstairs with tables. Now once I went inside it reminded me of this viral and trending place in River Oaks! I absolutely loved the inside! The decoration is so chic! Didnt get a chance to take pics, but Id recommend it! All together !

Looking for cute, delicious brunch? Don t come here. The hostess was very rude, immediately asked us to step outside - because the hostess table is right by the door - without a greeting. We sat outside in the sidewalk for 10 minutes despite being told our table was just being cleaned. People who came after us were being sat down. After a while, I walked inside just to be told that the lady forgot to write us down. We were then sat & ordered. Food was so mediocre. Terrible plating. Such few fries. Our drinks were served in plastic, disposable cups - this is not what they show on their social media. Environment was ok, not as cute and trendy as people perceive it to be.

Extremely poor customer service! I don t EVER leave bad reviews; I am very understanding but from the moment my party of 11 and I walked in, we were greeted with such ugly mannerisms, and only got worse as I said it d be a party of 12. We came here today to celebrate a family member graduating college and it was just a HORRENDOUS experience. Not the way we wanted to start off such a special day. As stated, customer service was the worst there could be and to top it off, 6 out of the 12 of us ended up with food poisoning. Coincidentally, I ended up reading an article AFTER our visit that the kitchen had several food safety regulations during an inspection. Wish I could ve read that article before our visit and avoid this whole situation. Would rate it less than a 1 star if I could.

First of all, the lady that sat us had rude . We had a party of 12, so I understand she had to accommodate but she had an attitude. She was Insisting on verifying that all guest were present before sitting us. after assuring her twice all were present, I told her she could count us in a firm voice and that s when she sat us. The costumer service wasn t the best either. The waitress just took our order didn t check up on us once. The worst of all, six out of the twelve party guest became ill with food poisoning symptoms after our visit which cannot be a coincidence. Overall, horrible experience. I would not recommend After trying to determine if other guests had similar experiences. I saw an article that said the kitchen had several food safety violations during an inspection.

Had brunch here for a friends birthday, she was expecting to have a big party of people but not everyone showed up . Everybody paid separately but ended up getting charged 20 percent for a large party when I paid it didn t give me a breakdown so I figured it wasn t with tip included . The waiter didn t care to tell me the tip was included already. Found out when I got home and checked my receipt . There was 5 of us which we had to have a second table for the 5th person the waiter came and asked to take that table while that one friend was still eating, found that pretty rude considering we were being charged already for large party . I ended up paying $29.65 just for myself which I find it expensive just for some chilaquiles and a drink . Will probably not be going back there anymore . Also they put on the ticket that there was a guest count of 8 that was definitely correct .

It was a so-so experience overall. I wanted to like it because it was super packed with people, so I assumed it was a great place to be for a weekend brunch. However, the food and drink were so average or subpar, particularly for the prices. There is nothing I tried here that would ever make me want to come back, although the patio area was lovely. The service was good, so they have the right wait staff. The food did not taste fresh. The chicken strips tasted like frozen ones. The waffle was dense and flavorless. The tea jug was watered down. The pasta had a decent taste to it. The cuisine standards in the RGV are low for non-Mexican food, so these types of places are usually packed without a care for the very basic food offerings.

Positives: Very cute place with a beautiful outdoor seating area. Accommodating to pets (dogs) and has good service. The vibes are great. Its an overall nice place to get brunch with family and friends while dressed nice-casual. Negative: The first thing I noticed was the high prices on the menu-- the menu was a little limited too. Moreover, I got the eggs benedict and it was $16. It was only two, and they were small. Drinks were also a little pricy-- $7 for any non-refillable espresso drink. Overall, if you want to get brunch with loved ones and want to have it at a pretty place with brunch-y type food, this is the place to be! Just be prepared to pay $15 or more per person for small portions.

I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Horrible customer service didn t just end at the door when we walked to our car a man walks past me and says next time have some respect and don t park in reserved parking. My jaw dropped because I was clueless because I was parked in a spot with a sign that stated reserved for birdies bistro cafe & bakery or something like that. I called him back several times saying, Excuse me sir can you explain the issue. The guy was so rude, he physically waved me off and gave me the rudest expression imaginable. I was pissed. I turned around, went back in, and asked who the owner was. Needless to say he was the owner. The lady I asked was his sister and after I explained the situation to her, I demanded an apology. She said, Well, it s kind of obvious that it s staff parking and that was his spot that you re in. I was seriously dumbfounded by her remark and asked her to whom it was obvious to because nowhere did it say staff parking. She went on to say each sign says something different. I explained to her that it s not customary for people to go spot by spot to see if each sign said something different. I saw birdies bakery & cafe, it was available, so I parked. Well i guess we need to add that was all she had to say. I asked for an apology but of course didn t get anything but excuses for his and her horrible attitudes. If he was a professional, he would have nicely come over to explain the parking situation and I would have been okay with it but he chose to be rude and a coward. Never again!!!

My daughter and I were looking for a quiet, special place to have dinner as we had not seen each other for a time. We happened on this quaint and lovely bistro accidently. The service was outstanding from the hostess to the waitress to the young woman clearing the table. We sat outside on the patio and the ambience was perfect, soft music, twinkling lights. We shared the chicken picatta and crepe with strawberries. Both were excellent. You have to try Birdies special tea which was served in a fine bone China cup, the way tea should be served. The entire evening was perfect and we both highly recommend eating here.

Went to have breakfast with a group of friends today.. Definitely not for big groups! There is very little space and they had a hard time fitting us in. Some of the servers were very rude and our server was Auctioning our food . Food is good but the ambient and staff bad. Not kid friendly, overpriced, and they added a 20% gratitude that was not deserved

I absolutely love eating at Birdie bistro it is so amazing. Ive tried their French toast, omelette, south west egg Benedict, Chilaquiles, stuffed avocado, and Alfredo topped with salmon. Nothing ever disappoints not to mention the decor and the environment remind me of a European fairytale. The entire experience is truly exquisite

The food was good but not good enough to back up the bill total. In addition, I wanted just a waffle as a side to go with a breakfast plate I was interested in which was already like $10, and according to the waiter, they do not do that or are not able to. I was told I had to purchase the whole waffle plate ($10+) in addition to the breakfast plate just so I can get the waffle. There was really not much to choose from on the menu as far as breakfast is concerned, so I decided on the breakfast croissant sandwich which I really was not craving at all. It was good but not what I was looking for and I could have just made that at home. I wouldnt come here again. I leave happier from IHOP than I did here. This place was just toooo noisy as well and looked like a child decorated it. Wouldnt reccomend. Service was good though!

I love Birdie Bistro and have been there many times for brunch, lunch and dinner. They never disappoint! The food is consistently delicious and the wait staff is attentive. The ambiance is fun, so a great choice for celebrating birthdays and special occasions. I highly recommend!

I would eat here every day if I could! The service is impeccable, and the value for the quality and quantity of food? You just cant beat it. all i can say is 22 violations out of 24...that alone says it all!! 5 of the kitchen staff had NO food handlers. I called to simply inquire about a job. She stated No, but if I gave her my name and number she would call me if something opens up. I explained I had my food handlers card just so she kne that little piece of information about me. I proceeded to give her my name and number. I started to spell my name and she quickly shut me up and said okay! I knew she wasnt writing anything down so I then asked her how she spelled my last name. She could not answer me so I quickly said its fine. In a nice tone. I then said and my number? She hangs up on me.... Great service miss. Manager!! thats great your not hiring just say that instead of... let me get your name and number and act like your writing it down...

My friend, 5 year old daughter, and I had brunch there. Absolutely lovely place. I can see why ther3 is such demand. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was adorable, and the food was delicious and fresh. I do wish the waiting area was inside though. It was very hot outside and the parking was very limited.

Food was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful! When our family arrived, we were attended to immediately and by the friendliest staff. The restaurant was already full by 10:30 am so we sat outside. Unfortunately, after eating, we noticed the inside had many more options available, both for coffee and food that we would have liked to consider as part of our meal. My suggestion would be to make sure to go inside to be able to see all their options. I definitely would go again! Its such a cute place with tasty offerings!

Parking is metered. .25 is 30 minutes. If there was free space, I didn t find it. They have a pretty outside area. The options were American breakfast and Mexican. They have chilaquiles but I m traumatized by Texas not having authentic chilaquiles how they have them in Jalisco, so I don t order them in the RGV anymore. Anyone have pics of their chilaquiles?

So I came here because friends recommended me this place. We were here to celebrate my husbands birthday. We waited 65 minutes when they told us it was 45 minutes. After insisting they told us that we could take the table outside, we waited outside 30 minutes until we had do talk to one of the waiters for us to take the order, it was anther 40 minutes waiting for the food, and when my husband went inside and asked the man that s taking the reservations, he rudely answer that they already had lots of orders, my husband again asked how much longer would it take and he rudely and snobby answered another 30 minutes. Please just STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. There s no culture of service or good treat in here. *ITS NOT WORTH IT*

Krikee, 1st time there today. Not a great 1st impression. Went around 1 pm Saturday, was told 20/25 minute wait, no problem. Had my fur baby with me. Got sat in only 17/19 minutes, not bad. Here comes the frustration n disappointment!! No one acknowledged us at all for over 10 minutes. I finally asked a man in a red shirt, he asked no one has come to you? , not at all we replied. I ll get someone he stated, still took several minutes after that. Instead of taking our drink orders, it would of been quality customer service if he would of taken the drink order. Here comes a male server, one of many. We still had menus fully displayed and he asked, no one took your order? It gets worse, after he dropped off initial drinks, he literally never came back to check on us or asked if we needed refills. No one came by, we literally saw at least 6/7 different servers, you can tell no one really cared we were there; we felt like we were more of an inconvenience. Coffee cup sat empty, water had no refills; we had to ask a passing by server for refills. Table was lopsided n didn t sit even, liquids kept spilling. No offer of water for my fur baby. I gave her some of mine. Food was absolutely delicious but pess poor service to say the least. They appeared to be disorganized, frazzled, and lack of attentiveness. Once food arrived, it was a quick drop off n they popped smoke. No one asked how steak was, if we wanted hot sauce, nada!! Forgot our side of bacon. Once done, we had to ask for the crepes we initially ordered. You can tell, this place didn t give a rats arse about us. Pretty clear n evident to us. They picked up our water glass, no offer to refill, like they wanted us up n out ASAP. Not sure what we said or did to deserve this but best of luck to ya! I had a pair of shorts on n a t shirt, so perhaps I wasn t dressed appropriately?? My fur baby wasn t barking or causing a disturbance at all. I use to be a server, boggles my mind how new service is in America, where 3 people care: No Bod Ee!! But a tip is still expected. Best o luck to you. $70 tab for breakfast. Absolutely horrendous service.

We ate lunch here on a busy Saturday around 12:00 and there were a LOT of people. That to me is telling how good the food is. And it IS! We were a party of 6 so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. We walked next door to a antique shop and shopped until they called us on our cell phone. They offered us a table upstairs so we sat where it was kind of hot & breezy, but they had fans going. It was still a pleasant lunch even with the heat. The food was AMAZING and well worth the heat and the wait. We ordered 2 plates w/omelets, 2 plates w/croissant sandwiches, eggs Benedict, and chilaquiles. I got to taste a bit off each plate (we are family and share!), and I can say each plate s main dish was very delicious! We paid about $14-17 per plate not counting our drinks, but for the quality of food it was very affordable. I would recommend taking a date, family, or friends here! You won t be disappointed!!

Nice spot to enjoy brunch, we ended up here by accident and turned out to be a good experience. When we arrived (Saturday 11-ish) the place was pretty crowded so we had to wait around 45 min, which was not a problem since it was our very first time in McAllen so decided to explore a bit the surrounding area before we were called. Once assigned to a table, the service was pretty fast, we got a mimosa and a Café Americano, both were really good. To eat we got the Poblano Quiche which was extremely good, although with some spicy sauce on the side would turn it out beyond good. Moreover we got the Eggs Benedict, they were also very good and a bit different compared to other brunch spots weve visited, the bread and the sauce were unique so we liked it.

If you have not come here you should. Make sure you have time as it can take a bit longer than most places, but the outdoor ambiance is nice. The food was great. The tapas were my favorite. The rice in my meal, as were the vegetables, was made to perfection.

Very pleasant atmosphere! Chose to sit outdoors and enjoy lunch as the weather was cool & breezy! One waiter took my order & brought my food out but never returned. Noe, another waiter was tending to the table behind me & he didn t hesitate nor was he at all bothered by me asking him to bring me a refill! In fact, he had such a wonderful attitude, I was glad he took over without hesitation. I can see that Noe takes so much pride in his work, he can definitely train the rest on how to provide exceptional service! He made us laugh we forgot that we had been forgotten by our initial waiter. Great job Noe, we will definitely be back because of your great customer service!
