Clean restaurant with great customer service! The drinks were just right and the food was well served. We got a free peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream because it was my birthday! Very reasonable prices we highly recommend this place!!

Usually a good place. Rarely have an issue there. This time though I ordered a couple of cheeseburgers. One of them had a patty that was really mushy. It seems as though it was maybe frozen and the thawing of the meat made it watery and mushy when it was cooking. Not the best experience this time. I gave this review two stars only because the customer service is nice. Thanks.

I had the brisket plate very delicious, the plate was served with no ions and 4 pickle slices. I was sad to hear they didn t have Mac and cheese on the menu. I had the onion rings and I do not recommend them

As much as I enjoyed my food, please get the air conditioner fixed! I should have known when I walked in and saw the oscillating fan in the dining room. The outside, and perceived lack of parking really doesnt do justice to how much of a true BBQ joint this place is, till you walk inside. I ate on a Wednesday, so I was able to enjoy their pork offerings. Next time, during the winter, of course, I will try the brisket. The reason I gave 3 stars for the food was the potato salad. I took one bite, and knew something was off. You just know when you take a bite, that you dont even want to risk a second bite. I dont know what was wrong, but I was afraid to even take a second bite for fear of making whatever outcome worse. In the end, the pulled pork and ribs were worth the visit. Once the air is fixed, maybe Ill try the potato salad again for the sake of redemption.

In town for a few days & stopped in for dinner. Loved the atmosphere & was promptly greeted when we entered. Service was quick, food was served on large rectangle platters. We each ordered the 2 meat platter with 2 sides. The ribs & brisket were amazing!! Large portions so bring your appetite! We will definitely return next time we are in town.

Theres better BBQ places out there. First time we wanted to try it out I called to place an order and they kept me on hold so long I had to hang up. Then when I finally got to try it the food was not even warm. The bread for my brisket sandwich was just two plain slices of bread. While Aces BBQ gives you buttered up toasted buns for their sandwiches. Charro beans had almost no flavor as well. Nothing about the overall experience made me want to try it a second time.

I ordered the po-boy and it gave me nostalgic vibes. The chopped brisket tasted like an old-school Sloppy Joe, that was the nostalgic taste. The sliced brisket was tasty and had great flavor, and the sausage cut was full of flavor as well. Will visit again

2 meat plate brisket and ribs. Chips, beans and rice. Brisket was good on its own. Not too much fat, not overcooked. Chips were home made and very good. Beans and rice were a little bland (put bbq sauce in them and they were great) Service was good and food came out in a timely fashion. Resturant was air conditioned, but kept a little warm. Good music in the background (80s) Parking: More parking in back.

They make you feel welcomed when you walk in the door with a welcome . Yesterday went by ordered catfish which was delicious. The only thing was waitress must have been new bc couldn t speak English well and didn t come by to ask if I needed anything. Which I did I wanted lemons, Tabasco and plastic utensils. I have been coming to Lonestar bbq for years and today was the first time that my lunch was FORGETTABLE! What happened to your quality? Its way more expensive, of course but NOT better. The ribs had no smoke (thats bbq), they were not as tender as before and taste like they were boiled and lathered with bbq sauce. The rice and beans mix was not as good as before. The lemonade was outstanding. Thats it. Very disappointed! You are better than this.

When we got there was mo one.They were on cell phone n didnt even look up to see nor greet us.we waited until I had to go to the counter n ask the guy there if they were open n said yes we are open but not friendly. Have been to this place several times. I have had their brisket sandwiches pretty much every time. You cant go wrong. The place has a nice ambiance and the service is fast. The only thing missing is some easy country music in the background. Parking is also a chore at times as the front has little space but you can always drive around to the back and park as they have a back entrance. Happy dinning.

Hands down, the best catfish in McAllen. Hot, fresh, delicious. The perfect amount of breading - not too much, not too light. When I get a catfish craving, this is the only place I go. I also like that they took the time to invest in separators between booths because of COVID. Not every restaurant cares that much. The service is always great here.

Best BBQ in town ( Valley for that matter! Yes, Austin and Kansas City are the Hiearchy, but LONESTAR competes well with them! Go and try the baby back pork ribs.... Yuuummmm!!

The onion rings were great, sausage was good and chicken was ok. The ribs and brisket were terrible. No smoke taste, and like they were not seasoned at all. Brisket looked and tasted like gray meat, no flavor at all. They also forgot 1 entree in our order and left it up to me to figure it out with DoorDash in what to do (thanks DoorDash for refunding the missing entree). They also called and asked about our order when we submitted it, we asked for extra BBQ sauce and they failed to send that too. Highly recommend you go elsewhere for BBQ.

This is a BBQ place, right? They were out of anything BBQ when we arrived with a group of 6 people. They only had 2 hamburgers left. We did order the hamburgers, nachos, fajitas, and sausage. The food was good but we were a bit disappointed that they didnt have anything BBQ.
