This BBQ is the best!!! Let me start by talking about how soft the brisket is and the ribs fall off the bones!!! Im so surprised this place has not been featured in the best BBQ TV show! Do yourself a favor and visit this great Texas BBQ spot! The owner was super helpful and pleasant and inviting. Awesome atmosphere. His food was phenomenal... I had the Brisket, Ribs, and Smoked Turkey and they were killer. His ribs were probably my favorite but the brisket was top notch too. His charro beans were out of this world! His sauce really complements his rub, and he had the perfect mix of sweet, tang, salt, and smoke. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here! You should too!! Good food, good prices, good atmosphere, and great service. What a gem!

During our clinc site visit today, we chose to eat at Black Diamond for lunch. They offered a lunch special, which I was able to order the three pork ribs w/ two sides ( potato salad and cha ro beans). The ribs were extremely moist, tender, & flavorful. Since moving to this area of Texas in the last six months I have begun to look forward to great charro beans and these did not disappoint! They are in my top 5 that I am willing to drive from Harlingen to McAllen just to get these charro beans! They are a meal w/n themselves! They had smoked sausage, jalapeños, and other great seasonings to make them stand out on their own. Now the potato salad, ummm, lets just say it was not for me. However, my lunch special was only $11.99! This was awesome for the amount of food I got. Now, my co-worker ordered the one meat plate w/the brisket, mashed baked potatoe, & baked beans. Her brisket looked very moist and tender as well and she stated that it was good as well as her sides. The size of the sides that they give you is very generous. The servers/attendants were very nice and patient in answering our questions since it was our first time in their restaurant. I will be going back because I have to get me some more beans!! Parking: The parking lot is large and there is not a problem for parking.

The ribs fall right off the bone theyre deliciously smokey and tender. The potato casserole is cheesy and you can taste the fresh chives. The green beans are soft and are very refreshing. I asked for sauce on the side and they gave plenty. Im very happy this place is so close to my work.

Just ate here for the first time and we are impressed! All 4 of us had the daily special which was the brisket sandwich. It was moist and flavorful. Amongst the 4 of us we had these sides: bbq beans, potato salad, charro beans and baked potato casserole. They serve generous size portions; I would estimate double of what you get at most places. All 4 sides were excellent! The bbq sauce is just the right amount of sweet. The homemade ice tea was just right as well. We were met with a Welcome as we entered. The atmosphere was nice as well as good Country music was playing in the background at a very comfortable volume. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Black Diamond BBQ has the best smoked meats in SouthTexas!! Everything was delicious and they proudly support military, law enforcement and first responders. The brisket was out of this world, the staff was very friendly and all the fixings are homemade. I can t wait to taste the chicken and turkey. Do yourself a favor and go check them out.

Why is this place called BBQ? Went in for the first time and the place was empty and dark- no music not even inviting lighting. Ordered 1 lb of brisket, turkey, and sausage and paid $44 plus tip! Shouldve saved the tip for myself to get lunch elsewhere because all the food straight to the trash. The lady that packed my order gave me what seemed to be the last of the bbq- ALL fatty and no flavor and this was at around 130 in the afternoon! . She didnt even slice it correctly ( yes there is a method to slicing brisket!)The turkey was EXTRA DRY and no flavor! The sausage? What kind of sausage was that!? First and Last time i go there. Not sure who is giving these high reviews to this place but i can tell you im a foodie who s tried bbq from the Carolinas, to Kansas city to Dallas/ ft worth Hutchins and Hard Eight and this place IS NOT IT! Save your money! There are plenty other bbq places you can spend your hard earned money.

My family and I went there today for lunch. It was our first time there and had read some good reviews on this place. Place was completely empty with two female employees (an older woman and young girl) working behind the counter. As we walked up to order they stood there giggling at each other like a couple of 12 year old girls. Even while ordering and as we asked questions they looked at each other giggling. They were giggling and smiling that I thought maybe they didn t speak English only to find out that wasn t the case. We ordered the 2 brisket sandwiches and one ice cream scoop of potato salad each and a chicken breast plate that had exactly 6 slices of a chicken breast w two sides and two drinks totaling $52. Brisket was delicious but sides were mediocre. Macaroni and cheese tasted like boxed shells and cheese. Potatoe salad was dry and pulled from a Tupperware container. STRONGLY recommend you take your money elsewhere. This was our FIRST and LAST time here. Should ve stuck w our old reliable Willie B s in Alamo or Reyna s in Weslaco. At least there we know exactly what we re getting and how we ll be treated and valued as customers. In retrospect, I can see now why this place was empty- that should ve been our first clue. Live and learn I guess.

Update: Still pretty good. Ordered the brisket and so far still the best. The lady up in the front was very nice and catered to all our needs. Went here to try it out because of the reviews. I took my parents, they ordered spicy sausage sandwich and a plate with charro beans and potato salad. I ordered the chicken plate with a brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese and potato salad. Everything was great except the chicken, it was a bit dry and the Mac and cheese should have been more cheesy. But everything else was great especially the brisket.

Why were the ribs so dehydrated and hard they were like beef jerky. They were OLD!! Ive only eaten here once. I got the killer bee sandwich with BBQ beans and Mac and cheese. The sandwhich was very good. The meat inside was not to dry and had good flavor. The bun and cheese added to the sandwich. The beans were ok. It was a nice touch having some meat in them. The Mac and cheese wasnt my kind of Mac and cheese. Id prefer a thicker cheese and this was a very thin cheese. Over all, Id come back but Ill probably try the potato salad instead of the Mac and cheese.

I searched for the best BBQ in the McAllen area, and Black Diamond BBQ showed up on the top results. I decided to give them a try, and the food was delicious! I recommend ordering the two meat plate (brisket and pulled pork) and the two sides of macaroni and cheese/mashed potatoes. The employees also had great customer service. Love the brisket! We have visited many times and they are consistent with quality, service and cleanliness. Love the daily specials. We love the brisket sandwich and brisket potato. This little gem was quaint inside with a totally hometown feel. Talk about meat... the brisket was outstanding and slow cooked to perfection. The sausage, ribs and chicken looked amazing. I went with the chicken which was super smoky and bursting with goodness. The peach cobbler with ice cream was tasty and was the perfect place for a super bbq lunch

My first time here and i was not disappointed! Always been DT and had to see what was new around the corner. The specials they have Mon thru Fri are a steal! So Ill definitely come back monday for the brisket. The brisket is by far the softest and juiciest Ive ever had here in the RGV. The sausage and jalepeno sausage links taste homemade and already incredibly good! The macaroni is bomb Af (glad we got the last one) and so is the baked casserole. The prices were a lil more than most but probably because i went ahead and got a pound of everything ( regrets were made) and definitely worth every dollar I didnt catch the chefs name but thank you sir for this experience! Ill be back for the pulled pork.

The brisket here is good! Not over-smoked, tender, and fatty in the right way. Not too much of a rub either, so you really can taste the beef. I had the brisket sandwich, it was tasty and the bun complimented the meat nicely. I also had the potato salad, which is like my moms. The yellow mustard and pickles one . Thats my moms lol. Staff was nice, and Im a customer now.

I personally have tried every BBQ joint in mission pharr and McAllen. This is top 2 next to smokin moon.If you were to put burnt ends on the menu you would be number 1.i can tell u these are the best brisket tacos I have ever tasted. Just some feedback tho. U should put a lime or two with them.

You guys got a good thing going! The food was good and very competitively priced. The owner and his wife seemed like very nice people and I thoroughly enjoyed talking bbq with the owner. We ordered sliced and chopped brisket sandwiches and a pound of ribs. The brisket was excellent. Tender, lean, perfect. The sauces are delicious. The food is in a class all of its own. Better then valley bbq. Ribs will be excellent as well i am sure. Brisket is the best in the valley.
