She was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our drinks were always filled and that we had everything we needed. Claudettes recommendations were spot-on, and her passion for the food really shone through. The food itself was delicious comforting classic diner fare that hits the spot every time. Well, the food was just OK. Only good thing was the Large portions, but the food is mediocre at best. Ordered a chicken fried steak with eggs and hashbrowns. The chicken fried steak looked and tasted as if it was from a frozen food section with very little flavor, definitely not fresh. The eggs were good, but the hashbrowns were just, just ok. Biscuits were large, fluffy, and good. But this is the 3rd time I have come here and I am disappointed with the taste of the food. Very bland and no effort to improve the flavor of the food. Last time i ordered the new york strip with eggs, the flavor for the Steak was also bland and was over cooked. I wish I didnt have to do a negative review, Wont be going back any time soon.

Had heard good things about this chain, so when I had a chance to visit, I decided to have breakfast. Not impressed. Service was good considering there was only 1 server while there. Ordered two eggs with a bacon dish and a side of ham. The amount of food was good. The flavor not so much. The potatoes and eggs were bland. No flavor, no spices used, nothing just blandness. The bacon and ham tasted fine good, though. The prices seemed a bit high... California prices came to mind. But with the economy it could be everything is costing more these days. Maybe lunch and dinner are better times to visit, but dont make a mad dash for breakfast.

First time eating here. The greeting was warm and genuine. The menu is actually in newspaper format and there were so many choices. I was really hungry so I ordered the Grizzly? It was a large chicken fried steak with 3 eggs prepared your choice, thick-cut hash-browns, and either a couple of large pancakes or a couple of biscuits. I was not prepared for the biscuits. They were HUGE! I could not finish this order. You should visit. The restaurant is clean and the service is excellent.

First time we went and we liked it, it feels like a very nineties atmosphere, the food is delicious, and the pancakes are not to mention. We came in for late breakfast and there was nobody in line and no one to seat us,hostess never showed up, we asked two servers if we could seat at the counter, they refused arguing it was not ready but did nothing to prepare it. We visited for the third time on Father s Day. We were able to sit at the bar top and got to witness just how hard the cooks work. The restaurant was incredibly busy, which is common, but the cooks worked seamlessly together with each other and the wait staff. I really had a hard time believing that this chain would not keep basic health, cleanliness products available to its customers. Then the wait staff laughed about me questioning these not being available. Granted, I am from California and am used to toilet seat covers being provided. Speaking to my father in law, apparently the mens bathroom does not have them either.

Morning Hostess is amazing Fina nicest and sweet women you ll meet. The waitresses and waiters are always willing to be at your side for whatever you need. And the food is an amazing topic by itself. Very sad to give this place a bad review. We have eaten at others that were great. This one the food took forever. Waitress took our food to the wrong table. The food was bad. Broccoli tasted rancid. Pesto sauce on the salmon tasted like gravey. The garlic parmesean toast was wet on the bottom. Waitress forgot to bring our our salad and then gave us the wrong dressing. I had been to a Black Bear in CA that was excellent. At this one we ordered Pot Roast. We asked the waitress did it come with potatoes and she said no. But when the dish came it did have them. Si now one of my side dishes was potatoes and the dish had potatoes. The carrots and cellery were under the meat and gravy with some potatoes. The carrots and cellery were not cooked. The potatoes had dark spots on them like they werent good potatoes they used. We told our waitress and she took our playes and said they would have to cook another meal and leave the carrots out. This took a second time waiting. The manager seemed nice and apologized and we didnt have to pay. It was a dad day as we were really looking forward to a good meal again.

Food was trash. Roast beef do not get vegetables were hard. Beef was dry my sons new york steak was a joke . Service was good . Food was horrible. Steaks from costco way better than this. Do not come here 0 star rating

Our server Auria was super great! She made our experience perfect! The talented cooks made us an amazing breakfast and our cashier Robert was super joyful. I definitely will be eating here again because of the great food and amazing workers.

We asked our good friends out to dinner, our treat, but they had to pick the restaurant. They picked Olive Garden. So off we went, and on the way, the conversation started up about this Black Bear restaurant, which is close to Olive Garden, and always wanted to try it. Left turn, Clyde! WHAT A GREAT CHOICE IT WAS!! Im thinking, I just walked into a restaurant in Ely Minnesota, dont ya know. This is a WINTER TEXANS place to go, and if ya havent been here, by all means, go there. Loved it even the menus are unique. The food was wonderful and reasonably priced. They have their own APP you can download and order and deliver. Thanks for a wonderful evening, Black Bear! We will be back so will our friends.
