Decent, not great! Had supreme fajitas, chicken was moist, beef was ok but not freshly cooked, shrimp was good, supreme fajitas should come with grated cheese but do not, chips and salsa were ok, queso wasnt good at all, very bland and powdery tasting, probably out of a can, definitely not fresh made queso, $9 for a cup which they did take off the bill. Service was good. It was just before 5 pm on a Thursday and I was the only customer. I would say it was average. Probably wont try again.

This is a typical Tex-Mex place nothing amazing, but they have some major quality issues to work on. First, the food: anyone who serves Chili Rellenos know that you DESEED the Pablano and you have to either steam or grill the skin off! Skin makes it very bitter and hard to eat and the seeds are left in when they don t want to have to actually FILL the pepper! I had both the cheese and a beef Rellenos and neither had much filling at all due to the HUGE seed bunches they didn t take out, PLUS A MOUTHFUL OF SEEDS IS JUST NASTY!!!! Second, the Service: I ordered two Chili Rellenos, a side of rice and a side of guacamole all ala-carte: which should have totaled $18 before tax/tip. I ordered it that way bc ALL I really wanted was the two Rellenos. Our waitress manipulated the order by ringing in a Rellenos PLATTER and taking the beans OFF which IMMEDIATELY added $6 to the cost! She then added the 2nd Rellenos and side of guacamole, which resulted in the total now being $25 plus tax/tip. Our sodas were $3 EACH! Another issue was that it took almost 30 minutes to get our meals out, and it was HARDLY busy when we got there, but when the food finally came it was lukewarm and looked as if it had set in the window for about 10-15 minutes off the 30 we waited. The chicken flauta was so hard my wife couldn t eat it, I took it for lunch the next day. Third, the Atmosphere: It s a shopping center Tex-Mex joint, enough said. It s a hole in the wall style place, and honestly didn t get ANY kind of major makeover from the place there previously. They even left the Grill sign up from the place before them and just added the Las Palmas sign to the left, and it looks really kind of janky cause they don t match in style AT ALL. The Bottom Line: This place COULD BE GREAT as the rice was EXCELLENT, and my wife s food was pretty tasty, but again, nothing really amazing: Just plain old Tex-Mex. In todays highly competitive Tex-Mex environment, ESPECIALLY IN TEXAS, you have to REALLY go above and beyond! There s a place JUST SOUTH that s been in Mansfield for DECADES, so it s proof in the pudding that the competition is EVERYWHERE for Tex-Max so, Las Palmas: Step up your game, don t cut corners on you food and DON T teach/instruct your servers to manipulate the tickets to charge more/make extra money off customers orders. If you offer it ala-carte, and they order it that way: you HAVE to ring it THAT WAY otherwise take the ala-carte option off the menu. I hope that you read this and take it seriously as we don t really plan on returning at this moment, unless the quality issues are stepped up big time, because honestly: there are WAY TOO MANY Tex-Amex places in DFW and if we go to eat at one, we EXPECT it to be better than the chain places. Period.

I would not recommend this place to anybody. Tacos had one piece of meat in the them. Tortilla was dipped in some red sauce which made them extra saggy. Tacos Tasted like fish and I ordered steak tacos! Poor presentation! This place sucks! I know why they didn t have a lot of people during lunch hour. Explains everything! I will never go to this place again! Lesson learned!

Las Palmas is a good place for Tex-Mex/Mexican food. Good authentic street tacos, ceviche, and enchiladas. Great fajitas! Most places are skimpy on the peppers but heavy on onions. I usually have to ask for more peppers. But here is a great balance! Plenty of peppers for the fajitas! Flavor is great and the service is always amazing! Prices are not quite as high as most in the area. 3 of us had a great dinner with drinks under $100 tip included. Hard to find that in a fast casual place these days. Highly recommend checking out this little gem.

The food made up for the service. The food was just what I wanted, good! Our 1st server woke up on the wrong side of the bed and forgot the she was in the service industry. We stopped in for lunch today. I will say my lunch was fantastic, Camarone Mexico, 9 huge shrimp, sautéed with onions and jalos with tomato base. Comes with refried beans and rice, pico and guacamole. Our daughter had a sour cream and chicken enchilada with mixed veg .very good as well. My wife had the #6, a taco salad with spring mix lettuce , supposed to have refried beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, tomato s, etc. etc. The salad was iceberg with much of the core inside. She said I was good other than the iceberg and missing beans. Chips and salsa ehhh. Nice atmosphere, we would definitely go back, and try other dinners.

We were at Las Palmas on a Saturday for lunch, for our first time here. Rainy day so not many people there. Waitress Priscilla was very friendly and attentive. The chips are served warm, they provide plenty of salsa. The menu selections are plentiful, with a good variety of selections. We had 3 different plates, grilled tilapia, shrimp enchiladas, and stuffed shrimp. All 3 plates were served hot. The food was very flavourful. Priscilla was constantly checking in on us for anything we needed. Overall the restaurant is extremely clean, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Next visit will be for dinner, so we can enjoy some margaritas. Priscilla was nice enough to give us a sample of margaritas , frozen and on the rocks. They are awesome. I would greatly recommend this restaurant. We will for sure make this one of our to go places. Good luck, and keep up the good work.

Was the first time visiting this restaurant and Im sorry but will be the last. It was completely empty and once we got our food i knew why. The enchiladas were the worst i ever had. The chips were more like crumbs and the service was just ok. I figured it would be great since we were like the only people in there. The other place down the way was packed out, so we went here to get in and out quickly. Well, that was a bad decision. I do not recommend going here if you want good food. The only thing that was really good was the margaritas. Sorry, but this will not be on my list of places to eat ever again. If i could put less than 1 star, i would!!!!

Tried this place for the first time after reading someones recommendation. We got there early so we were the only ones in the restaurant. Place was very clean, service was very nice and food was excellent! The food could have been a little hotter but that is just a personal preference....it was an acceptable temperature. I gave 5 stars to The Palmas Mexican Restaurant because: -The food is amazing -The service is excellent The environment is kid and family friendly. We always have a very very friendly service, lots of smiles. Seafood is amazing, enchiladas are delicious and fajitas too. Enchiladas de mole are to die for. Caldo de camarones is DELICIOUS! Trust me - this is the best Mexican food in town. Flavor is amazing portions are appropriate the food is fresh and we have never been disappointed. We have been here twice when there was a mariachi playing and they were amazing musicians. The guacamole, tacos, charro beans, street tacos,... well basically everything is good. The food is great, weve been there 3 times and the only reason we went back is bc the food and margaritas are delicious, unfortunately the service is terrible, the first time we thought the waitress just didnt have much experience and thats why the service wasnt very good, second time our waitress never came back to check on us after dropping off food, no refills, didnt pickup up finished plates. Even after requesting the bill plates still were not picked up... and sadly this last time was our last visit, same experience with no refills no plates removed and on top of that the third waitress had a terrible additude like she hated her job. I was told she is the owners daughter so bad look right there if thats true.. great food but if the service is bad we prefer not to bother. Hope the owner addresses his staff. Don t waste your money here. My husband and I ate here and had enchiladas the beef was so basic, had no seasoning. the salsa that comes with the chips had no flavor it tasted like tomato sauce, the brisket tacos meat was mostly pure fat that looked so nasty and our waitress only checked on us once we were literally the only customers there. Decided to try a new place and landed on a gold mine! Weekend crowd wasnt too noisy. Appetizers arrived almost immediately after our drinks. Had just taken the last bite when entrées were there. Great happy hour deals. The schooner of beer or margaritas were BOGO free. The restaurant was nicely very clean and nicely decorated. The food was really good and huge portions. We will definitely be back!!

We ate here for the first time today. It was absolutely delicious. I dont think Ive ever had Tacos El carbon with steak that was so tender. We had flan for dessert. What a delicious meal. We will definitely be going back again and telling our friends about this restaurant

Everything about this experience was pretty terrible. I was looking for a new place to eat, and I shouldve taken the hint from walking into an empty restaurant at lunchtime to not expect a good experience. The only reason the food got 2/5 is because it was edible. Dont waste your time here.

This was my first visit. The chips and salsa were good. The red salsa had a good flavor but no heat. I wish I had known about their spicier green salsa. Ill make sure I get that next time. I ordered the #10 Enchilada and Taco Platter. Both were large portions and tasty. For the price/quality this place is pretty good.

When i try a mexican restaurant out for the fist time. I always try their sides of beans and rice. I find most of thectime if they get that right then the rest usually will be good to great. In this case their beans and rice were very well flavored. Then i tied the tacos . Which were not small . I had the brisket tacos they were in a flour tortilla that was made crispy oh man the seasoned brisket was brilliant the Pico and guacamole with it was amazing I will be going back for more cant wait . I went back and I was not disappointed. Very very good love this quiet little place friendly staff great food .

1st time trying them. We really liked it. The food was delicious, very good portions as you can see on the pictures, I ordered the lunch fajitas. We also liked that the salsa for the chips is different, this one has Chipotle. We got attended by Gaby, she took great care of us with a great attitude and a smile. Were coming back for sure and will recommend it to our friends.

I like to find smaller Mexican restaurants and avoid the chains. This place did not disappoint. The menu is not complicated but has a good variety. There was outside dining, but I preferred to be inside. The have a decent selection of draft beers and a full bar. The carne asada was tasty and tender. I could have had a few more tortillas than the four that came with the dinner as there was that much food.

We had planned to go to a different Mexican restaurant nearby but the wait was over half an hour... So we drove past a few shops and are so happy we found this delicious new restaurant! Everyone loved their meals and we highly recommend the queso...If you want more heat, try the Verde sauce!

This location used to be one of our favorite restaurant, we hadnt been in a while and noticed it was a different restaurant name and different ownership we thought wed give it a try. Sadly we regretted the experience. 1st thing we noticed was the table beside us was left with trash and food the entire time we there. The margaritas were not like we had previously experienced just taste like juice. They had no chili Verde for the enchiladas?? The water tasted like tap water from the bathroom sink. Tortillas we were told were not fresh and the kid meals chicken tenders were similar to McDonalds. The food was entirely to salty and did not taste fresh. The new owners were sitting across the room with a table full of food and drinks, and did not get up to greet any customers walking in once. We wont be returning and miss the previous ownership! This used to be amazing mexican food and drinks sadly its lackluster at best now.

Review edit: The flautas have been changed. Not good at all. Last 2 times we ordered. Very greasy, dark meat. Please bring back the other flautas - white meat, not full of grease and burned ends So delicious! Weve ordered multiple times. Came here last night for the first time with my family, the host was very sweet but when our waitress got to our table she didn t introduce herself just asked about drink orders with an attitude which went on the rest of the night.. Took awhile to get refills.. Our food finally came out and my family really wasn t impressed with their meal.. The quesadillas were soggy and falling apart.. When it came time to pay, it took the waitress like 10 mins to close us out when they weren t busy at all.. she only had a few tables.. Got home and immediately felt nauseous and had stomach cramps.. My boyfriend has vomited twice this morning and I know it s from the food

Great family place to eat and have luch meetings. Very Friendly and great food. I took my hole family we order fajitas and shrimp both where delicious. If you came dont miss the oportunity to taste the horchata water . And if you love hot salsa with your ships just ask the waitress and they will bring you a green salsa
