My husband and I wanted try something new and after reading the reviews we were so happy we chose this spot. The service was a quick and our server was super sweet and gave great suggestions for our first time. I decided to eat here with my close buds while we awaited our friends to have their baby across the street. In other words a special night and an everyone on high alert night. As soon as baby and mama were good to go she was HELLA ready to eat some sushi as she had been craving it all pregnancy. These guys did not disappoint! The service was awesome. I wish I got the girls name that served us because her attitude was beaming kindness. She dealt with my group of hooligans for about 3.5 hours until they closed. Food was awesome I didn t get to try a lot of different stuff but definitely high quality ingredients. I normally get better photos but hey it was a day/night for us lol. Definitely check this spot out!

Such a cute little place, clean with great food and service. We received a warm welcome upon arrival. Very small crowd. They have lunch specials every day until 230pm which I love! We ordered the shrimp tempura and shumai appetizers which were both delicious! My only complaint about the shrimp tempura is that it could have been fried a little longer, still good. I had a house salad, the ginger dressing was AMAZING! The waitress said she made it and it s made in house, OMG! My husband had miso soup, he enjoyed it. We also had the temptation and spicy crab tempura rolls and both were awesome! The waitress held it down wonderfully, as she was the only one working until we were about to leave, someone else came in to help. We can t wait to try other dishes, will definitely be back!

Kaiyo is our second family. The first time we ever came to this restaurant the quality of the food was comparable to and personally I believe better than many upscale sushi spots in Dallas. This restaurant is one of the only spots I ve ever been to where the service and quality is always consistent- which in business is VERY HARD to do. Whether it s in restaurant dining or the many times we ve ordered take out, it was always simply the best. First time and it was spectacular. For starters we tried shrimp shumai, shishito peppers and cucumbers all amazing. The rolls were fresh and tasty specually the spicy tuna however they were falling apart once picked up with your chopsticks which was a big let down, but nothing that wont make us come back. Special shout out to TJ our server he was phenomenal and definitely deserves a raise.

Clean, yummy, and consistent! Emphasis on consistent!! I come here at least 2x a month and I get the same experience every time. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the temptation roll (and if you don t do shrimp, they ll sub it in for crab). Customer service is great too. I m always greeted with cheerful hellos and smiling goodbyes. Even when my friends come into town, they ask if we can go to Kaiyo for sushi.

Very horrible customer service at this location. Sign says they close for a break after 2:30, i arrived at the place before close time. The lady at front door which was Asian had an impeccable attitude like she did not want to serve me. Mind you there were customers inside still eating and the door was wide open. Horrible service I will not be going back. We must not allow these places to say they close at a certain time and then they say oh well we closed our kitchen 15 mins ago. It makes no sense! I am truly disgusted and horrible way to treat your people in Mansfield. We truly aren t welcome here.

My husband and I went on a Friday datenight. The restaurant wasnt too busy inside but we could see them preparing several to-go orders. They use small tablets for their menus that you can swipe through or zoom into for a better view. Drinks- we ordered the Toyko Tea and Electric Margarita and our waitress brought us waters as well. The drinks tasted great but were not very strong considering there are several types of liquor in each. Food - my husband ordered the Yakisoba with chicken. The plate came out sizzling and smelled great. Portion size was normal and left my husband satisfied. I ordered the Ocean Roll and Fuji San Roll. The Ocean Roll was light and did not have any kind of fishy taste. I had to have a different sauce on the Fuji San Roll due to a sesame allergy but the waitress and sushi chefs were very kind about it and let me know if I wanted more sauce to just ask. The roll was delicious! The hints of orange mixed with the peppery tuna hit the spot. My husband, who doesnt love slightly raw rolls, was even a fan. Dietary restrictions: I have a sesame allergy and the waitress was on top of it with our orders. One of my rolls had it within the sauce and she asked what my preference was, order something new? When I asked for a different sauce the chefs let her know it would change the taste, which didnt bother me. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the staff!

Buyer beware. They advertise 8 pieces to rolls, but when you order a delivery order, you get shorted. They only give you a portion of the rolls/ number of pieces and they get away with it. I ve had this experience and when I call and report it, they don t seem to care. I will not be ordering from them anymore. Management will not discuss or assist. They basically steal from consumers who order via delivery.

I have been a patron of this restaurant for four years. I really like their food and I think they have very good sushi. I recently discovered that they will deliver via DoorDash. I ve ordered several times in the last three months via DoorDash but tonight I did not receive all of my order. When I called the restaurant they didn t seem to care and they brushed me off. I couldn t even get a manager to talk to me on the telephone. Basically I was missing two pieces of a tunaska roll. This roll costs over $14. They would not compensate me or reimburse me and on DoorDash, I got a measly couple of dollars of credit. So in the meantime, I paid full price and I did not get the full order. I m disappointed in the customer service of Kaiyo Sushi and we will not be ordering or eating here ever again. The order tonight was $50 and pretty much what we spend every visit. They do not seem to appreciate their business clientele. If they would ve expressed sincere concern and would ve let me speak to a manager I would not feel the way that I do right now. This is mainly what I m upset over.

Great spot for a local sushi restaurant. Weve been here a few times and it never disappoints. My picky kids eat all their food, which is a good sign of how yummy it is! Good customer service, food and atmosphere. Weve had their takoyaki, calamari, kamikaze, karaage and tried most of their special rolls. All delicious! Absolutely a hidden gem! Ive been to many sushi/Japanese restaurants, this restaurant is by far is one of the best sushi restaurants in DFW. Its a fairly small restaurant but absolutely amazing and tasty quality. Price is very affordable compared other restaurants. The owner, Panida, her chefs, and team are very sweet. In the area for work and this place was close to the hotel. I am not kidding when I say this is possibly the best sushi I ve had in the US. Can t speak to everything on the menu, but the Crunchy Roll and the Kairi Roll had a dynamic and fresh taste despite us coming in an hour before close. Even the wasabi tasted homemade. Unfortunately (fortunately), we ate everything so fast we didn t have time to take a photo of the rolls, but they were beautifully presented as well. Lastly we had the strawberry and the matcha mocha ice cream, and sure enough that tasted amazing as well. I was craving sushi so I decided to try this place out based on all the reviews. I was impressed with how clean the area and restrooms were! The staff there was very friendly, helpful and patient while I looked over their menu. Speaking of the menu, I really loved how they used tables! It made it really easy to zoom in and read the menu. The food was really good however they are small rolls. I am used to seeing larger more packed sushi rolls at other restaurants for the same price as this place. I do like how the chef tries new roll combinations as a monthly special. I went ahead and tried it , so glad I did it was amazingly tasty and reasonably priced. Kaiyo Sushi and Bar is across from the Methodist Hospital. The front is narrow. You might miss it. The interior is roomy and long. Looks can be deceiving. My wife and I had lunch on Tuesday. It wasn t busy. That surprised me because the restaurant had many good reviews. To be exact, it had a score of 4.8 out of 5. Or I missed the lunch crowd. The good news is that the service was faster than most eateries. We started with the seaweed salad. It was delicious. The daikon radish complements the seaweed. I ordered the lunch special Beef Teriyaki combo. I chose the Spicy Tuna roll and the House Salad. My wife ordered the Lunch Mix Tempura. She chose Miso soup rather than the House Salad. The Miso Soup was warm and satisfying without being heavy. Everything about it was well-balanced. The House Salad had a dressing that was good. But I cant name the flavor. It had a fresh, tangy taste. I wish we had the recipe. I think we would ve used it in all our salads. The teriyaki sauce on the beef was so good that I could drink it. I wish the beef was more tender. Next time, I ll order the chicken or salmon version. The vegetable tempura coating was just right in thickness. It was the finest tempura we ve had in years. In conclusion, it was a wonderful lunch. The food was addictive. The service was fast. The parking was convenient. We can t wait to try more dishes.

The place was nice and so was the service. The waiter handed us a tablets for the menu. I had the lunch sashimi special. I had like 6 pieces of yellowtail sashimi, and the slices were long. It came a roll, and I chose the California one. It was around $17 for it. My friend had the tempura udon and liked it a lot. I m going to get their udon next time. We also got the tempura crab roll. It was amazing and so flavorful. Definitely getting this one again. Updated: Updating my review now since I just tried their Tom yum udon. The udon noodle are so soft and delicious! Kaiyo has become our favorite and regular dining option for us at least once a month. All the menu items are great. The rolls are truly a variety - NOT imitation crab heavy California rolls with lots of sauce. If youve tried it all, ask for something off the menu! Decent suburban sushi restaurant in Mansfield. I was craving sushi but didnt want to drive far. The interior looks really nice and the waiters are friendly. Their menus are on a tablet, which was pretty cool. Prices are medium $$ range. Food came out quickly. I tried the hamachi krudo and Fuji San roll. The yellow tail in the hamachi krudo was pretty soft. The seasoning liquid was okay but could have used more flavor.The apples were a nice touch. (8/10) As for the Fuji San roll, I liked the smoked tuna component the most. The smokiness was a very prominent flavor, and the pieces of tuna were tender. Everything else was okay. The cajun seasoning was a tad too salty. The rolls were small (my guess is a half-sheet of nori was used) compared to other sushi restaurants Ive been to. Considering the portion size, I feel like its a little expensive for what it was. (6/10) Overall, I spent $30, but I was still somewhat hungry afterwards. Id go here again and explore the menu options.

Great service. Very welcoming. Elegant. Can request forks. Menu specified which sushi rolls contained raw meat. Can request substitutions on my sushi roll, if possible. All that I can ask for of a sushi place.

I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners today, she was very attentive and it shows she cares about her customer s satisfaction. The food is very tasty too so that s always a big plus. We will definitely be trying them again.

Good ambience. We had dinner here. We had tempera udons. The broth was too sweet but the tempera shrimps were good and light. Noodles were right consistency and yummy. Baby scallops sashimi was pretty good. The ginger and wasabi that were provided tasted fresh. I loved that the wasabi wasn t paste from a tube. The sushi rolls were decent. We had temptation roll and spicy tuna roll. I would prefer to order more sashimi or nigiri next time. Takoyaki was presented beautifully. The batter was delicious however we didn t like that two of the serving had octopus pieces that were still cold. Maybe it was chilled along with the batter? Edamame was good. Price is consistent with inflation. Dinner for two was roughly $40/person. Service was good. I would give this place another try for their nigiri and other sashimi.

Is it the best sushi I have ever had? No. Is it the best sushi in the Mansfield / Grand Prairie area? Yes! Their appetizers are good. The rolls are fresh, nicely sized, and reasonably priced. The service is also great. I will be back many times.

This is our second time going to Kaiyo Sushi and Bar, and as with the first time, we left feeling satisfied and with a great experience. Our choices during this trip: Shrimp Shumai (Appetizer) - Deliciously ground-up shrimp that is fried into a dumpling-like ball. Very yummy and light. Completely addictive. Entrees: Tiger Rolls - A specialty of Kaiyos and it shows! Spicy Cod Roe on the roll is done just right-does not taste cheap and fishy like other places-flakes on the roll make it crunchy and give it substance. 9/10 My entree: Nabenyaki Udon - If you ever want a chicken noodle soup with some Japanese/Asian flair, this should be your automatic go-to option. Sweet, savory, light-it hits all the notes of an awesome comfort dish. It has a combination of chicken, fried shrimp, fish cake, egg, onions, and other vegetables in it and it all works well. Very yummy! 10/10 If you already have read my previous review, youll notice that I dont give any restaurant a five if it isnt clean/does not have good friendly staff. This place checks both options easily, and theyll have my service whenever Im in the area! Parking: Not very many parking spaces (about 4-6 spots in total)

Started with steamed pork goyoza, it was really good. Then had a California and Dragon roll. They were delicious. Make sure you ask for the spicey mayo sauce, it has a different heat than the wasabi. Finished off the meal with some pistachio ice cream. They were pretty busy but the server took her time and answered all my questions. I plan making them my regular stop.

It s our first time being here. We ordered Volcano roll, Dragon roll, Caterpillar roll, and Sashimi. Sashimi is very fresh, the quality is good. I like the sauce and crispy things on volcano roll. Caterpillar and Dragon are my kids favorite since they don t see raw fish. Staffs are very friendly. Love the food and staffs.

Moved from Dallas to Mansfield. I have searched for a sushi bar that had good selection of fish and was not just a menu full of cream cheese-filled rolls. Most spots we have visited have been over sauced rolls and painfully over garnished. This spot on Broad Street is new and fresh. Im searching for the simplicity of good sushi and sashimi. The owners are from north Dallas and worked in Dallas sushi bars. I finally enjoyed some good raw fish. Although this specialty roll is over garnished it was delicious. Not sure if they smothered it in panko trying to adapt to their new community or if it was their style, but I will ask for none or less. They said they will have raw too, quail eggs & uni in stock when business picks up and in season.

We had a great first visit to Kaiyo Sushi recently! The restaurant is very cute and nicely decorated, and the service was wonderful. We really enjoyed all of the rolls that we ordered, but our absolute favorite menu item was the Cajun edamame! We have done pick-up orders from Kaiyo several times as well, and everything is always prompt and delicious! Kaiyo Sushi is a great addition to the Mansfield community.

Kaiyo is a pretty small sushi restaurant and bar with great food and great service. We had three different rolls that were all fresh and delicious. Most of the rolls run $10 to $15. The picture in the review is about half of the Kaiyo roll.

Went here on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a full bar including hot sake. The lady made us flavored sake for an extra buck (6+1). Everything was fresh and delicious. Sodas are 2.50 for a 12oz can and there are no deep-fried rolls. Polite staff, clean restaurant.
